We're Two Years Old Today!

And there's a party at Laura's! Meet you there!

Seriously, millions of visitors later, mentions in everything from The New York Times to Rolling Stone to Entertainment Weekly, visits to Bryant Park and the finale parties and we're still stunned at how things turned out. Who knew we could milk so much material out of one lowly reality television show? Thank you to Laura, for being so fabulous that she inspired our very first post (and let's face it, the whole blog), thank you to all the designers, some of whom became our friends and some of whom won't even pose for pictures with us, and especially, thanks to all of you, you fabulous, witty, loyal, funny, intelligent readers for keeping us inspired and making us better.

Love you lots! MWAH!

I first began reading your blog about mid way through season 3, but didn't start posting until you blogged season 2 and Raymundo (mi sweetie) got auf'd.

Ten demerits; Laura is an architect, her hubby is a high octane interior designer and roughly 50% of the lighting designers in the US live in the metro NYC area...

I'm certain Fisher Marantz Stone or Johnson Schwinghammer would take their calls...

And happy 2nd, TLo.

Thank you, boys, for making the world a smaller place and for inspiring so much fun! You've even inspired me to expand my writing beyond the hum drum of what I get paid to do as a journalist: Just yesterday I got added as a featured blogger on a really fab sports site -- http://floswimming.org/

You deserve every accolade and bit of attention that has come your way because you earned it. Thank you and happy e-birthday!

Congratulations to you!!

And funny, just this morning the US Department of Labor released this statement:

"We at the Department of Labor would like to send our best wishes to Tom & Lorenzo on this, the second anniversary of their Project Rungay Blog.

According to our studies, PR Rungay has been responsible for a 32% reduction in workplace productivity, in the two years since its inception. But since the economy has collapsed, that doesn't really matter.

We would say that this productivity reduction was offset by an increase in fabulosity, but we do not study such things under this administration. So don't ask us. We won't tell you.

However, come January 20, when these bible-thumping inbreds go back to Texas (or wherever the hell else they came from), we will issue a full report on this topic, which will state clearly how, thanks to the leadership of two bloggers from Philadelphia, Snarky Fabulosity is now our nation's leading export."

Thank you to you for all the giggles!

Thank you both so much. Like this season, two years ago I was unable to watch the shows when they aired and I found you and Blogging Project Runway. You helped me get through that summer and you are the first thing I check every day.

Congratulations and here's to many more years of fabulousness. I will be here.

Bill said...

I can't believe it's two years either! Two years of loving your spot-on commentary and laughing hysterically at your saidwithlove bitchery.

Great thanks to you both, Lorenzo & Tom! I have so enjoyed getting to know you two and love this community of fellow posters. The blog is always a day brightener.

And that shot of Laura with the cupcake is to die for. It's my new second favorite Laura picture. This is my most favorite because it reminds me of one of the best photos ever.

Thanks for all the chuckles boys. You're the best.

Best wishes, you fabulous two-year olds, you! Terrible twos, indeed. But terrible in a good way, as PR is wont to say, or not....

You really have brightened the days of so many people, including mine, that our gratitude is pretty poor pay for all the work you've put into this marvelous, witty blog.

And thanks also for the worthy red-headed stepchild (not any longer), the TLo blog, that was the offspring of Project RunGay.

Finally, thanks for the pleasure of having met you last December at EM2...! Fabulosity to the max, you charmers, you - so much fun directly attributable to this two-years young blog.

All the best,

NDC

But mostly, what a treat to have you two, Tom and Lorenzo, guiding this witty, snarky party and allowing us to live vicariously thru your amazing experiences.

That's a fabulous shot of Laura, but I really hope those hydrangea are fresh from the florist, because otherwise I really will hate her since mine die after five minutes in a vase. (Whew - my high school English teacher would have given me a red skull-and-crossbones for that sentence!)

For all the hard work and wit, for creating a little community - and keeping it a community with pretty high standards for civility, taste and entertainment value.

For sharing your gaggle of minions - mostly thoughtful yet sparkling readers/posters.

For hilarious snarkiness and, did I mention all that hard work? The screencaps, the celeb photos, the research & oh yes, the wit.

You guys would be a force for good in the world for just this blog - but NO! You gave the world Musical Mondays as well!

I missed you guys, too. But there is definitely something to be said for a two week road trip with no Internet or email.

We drove down to the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina and visited Ed's old haunts in Asheville, Cashiers & Brevard. Then cruised over to Atlanta for 3 days on a buying trip for the store at The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. Then we were off to Savannah & Tybee Island in GA and then Charleston & Hilton Head in SC. Whole trip was in Ed's cute little MINI Cooper S convertible so we had a blast traveling.

We watched the premiere of PR S5 in bed in the hotel in Charleston, and I was aching for the blog the next morning. I might have to bring a laptop next time...

So glad to get back for this special day. One more time - Happy 2nd Birthday Project Rungay Blog!!

That sounds like a fabulous trip! I can relate. I well recall, back in the days before email, internet and cell phones (okay, I'm old, so sue me!), having saved up so much vacation time that my late husband and I took a three-week sailing vacation.

My boss said to me, as I was headed out the door, "So, how can I reach you?"

And had a wonderfully quiet and undisturbed vacation.
