OK, I will go on record. If Uli doesnt win then DIEBOLD has something to do with these results!

I really want for Laura to win. However, based on comments of those that saw the show, I think Uli may be the surprise upset tonight.

No matter what, they all win with the exposure.

Jeffrey.

If there's drama against the protagonist in Act II, the protagonist must over come to triumph in Act III.

It's all about teh_drama, don'tcha know!

Oh my god, Screech, WEBSTER?!?!

You bitches are freakin insane! Love ya!

I bet Michael will win. His stuff is very marketable, always well made, and considering the judges' response on every one of his items (besides the couture gown, which isn't a practical product anyway), they LOVE his stuff, so I highly think he will win it. Laura is too one-note. I would love for Jeffrey to win, becuase he rocks my world. But from what it looks like, he will be allowed to show, but is ineligible to win.

You know I'm ALL ABOUT LAURA. But, alas....it pains me to say it...ouch...I think the little peanut is going to win. I can't believe I wrote that....Oh! What a world, what a world (as the green witch melts into the ground)....

CANNOT WAIT TO FIND OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I'm also going into premature withdrawal.....You guys cannot break up with us....what will I do without your daily posts???? I'm reaching for the Xanax already....

bungle said...

Are we voting or betting? Both? Ok!

My vote: Laura.

My bet: Michael. The judges liked to say how he is adept at bringing out a whole look. If he's got that same mastery going on 12 times at OFW, no contest.

My money's on Peanut!

JEFFREY!!! I really think he's the best designer. I actually like his personality - he's been portrayed badly, but I like that he knows who he is and doesn't take s*** from anyone - go JEFF!

Fiber said...

I want to say Laura, but I think Michael might just take it. Even though I'm a tad concerned for his line (based on what I saw from the previews) I think he'll still win overall.

Anonymous said...

I live in Palm Beach County, home of hanging chads, so I have little faith in voting results. I have visions of the infamous butterfly ballot, in which the judges think they're voting for Jeffrey but are actually voting for Laura.

Nevertheless, I'm going to be optimistic and say Jeffrey.

He deserves to win. His work is the most innovative. If this show really is about the next great American designer, then it's Jeffrey all the way.

But if I could vote for best PR blog, well . . . there's really no question, is there? You guys rock!

Anonymous said...

If Laura doesn't win I'm leaving behind all the freedom fries eating, tweety shirt wearing, spandex loving Americans and heading to France.

Anonymous said...

I've said it before, and I may have to say it again. If Jeffrey wins, I'll never watch PR again.

I still like Laura. Michael is sweet, but his collection wasn't. I can deal with Uli. Jeffrey, however,... ugh. I'm so sick and tired of "rawk" and if I never see another tattoo in my entire life, I will be incredibly happy!

So, go, go, go! anybody but Jeffrey!!!!!...

Alex said...

I want Laura to win, would be nearly as happy if Uli won, and, while I don't think he's been consistant enough to deserve it on his design merits, even a Michael win would be nice.

However, if I was a betting man, I'd put money on Jeffrey, if only because the manipulative editing of the scandal is setting up an "upset" in Jeffrey's favor.

Unknown said...

I think Jeffrey will win. I don't like him and wouldn't wear his clothes, nor do I know anyone who would. But, I think he has the edge. I wish it were Laura, she is my new style icon. Michael is too green. I heard there was a lot of Uli buzz at OFW, so who really knows. 10 hours till show time!

Team Laura for the win! Wish you guys could be at my party tonight!

Anonymous said...

My guess is Laura... Jeffrey has some nice, innovative pieces, but only about 50% of them. The other 50% are abominations. Laura's is consistently gorgeous, and that grey beaded dres with the wide green belt will clinch it for her.

Uli comes in a close second for likelihood to win. Michael strayed into hoochie land too far and is unrecoverable.

Screech & Webster. I LOVE you guys.

I'm rooting for my Laura right on down to the finish line. I won't mind if Uli or Michale win.

I never looked at their collections when you posted them. I wanted to save it for tonight. So I can't really make my final decision until show time tonight.

Jeffrey will win. Then hopefully we'll never see him again.
Uli will get hired by Donatella Versace to head her Miami division.
Michael will become head designer for Beyonce's House of Dereon. And Laura will have her own Salon on 7th Ave (complete with pattern dept!). And they will all live happily ever after!

Anonymous said...

I giantpinkpuffyheart Laura. I love her collection. But I think the Angry Little Peanut will be the winner.

TEAM MICHEAL!!!! I wouldn't be upset if Laura won though because her clothes are marketable...for my 50 yr old mother, so I'd think she would be successful. But if they are really looking for the next great american designer then they will go for Michael. Not everyone is punk/goth and you'll find alot of prints in clothing based on what region you're in. Michaels clothes work for the masses.

anonymous said...

Here's my scenario: No evidence is found that Jeffrey cheated, so all four designers get their runway shows. Somehow, we're only halfway through the hour and Heidi is ready to announce the winner. But wait! Heidi reminds us of the "benefits" for the winners of the previous challenges, and out come her "Special Guests" - Kayne, Angela and Vincent, who have each secretly been given $8,000 to create their own runway shows! In shock, Jeffrey bursts into tears, while Laura rolls her eyes. We see each of these runway shows and the final winner is announced: Michael!

Would adore a Laura victory tonight, but I think Uli will win with yet another scandal...the German judge will be indicted for "vote trading".

My money's on Laura, but her win will be tainted for having gotten Jeffrey, her only real competition, kicked off.

The final shocker will be that Laura is disqualified for not following the instruction to create a spring collection, but instead creating a winter collection.

In my world, that's what would happen.

Jeff should win. I think he is very talented despite all the drama about his collection. Even though I love Laura, I think she was a little jelous that Jeff was finished and she wasnt.
I am dying to see how they will look going down the runway.

Anonymous said...

I think Laura. Why? because I got the impression that Chloe largely won a) based on her ability to run a business b) because they didn't want "controversial" Santino to win and c)because Danny V showed a surprisingly disappointing collection. Anyhow, from what I've seen Michael had a disappointing collection, and Jeffrey is "controversial" so that leaves Uli and Laura. Laura has experience with managing people, ergo she wins.
That said, I think the producers are setting us up for a Jeffrey win. Everyone loves an underdog!

and wow-- I think about this way too much!

Christina said...

i want jeffrey to win and i believe he will.

laura has created some beautiful pieces, but she really needs to work on her range. i think she has it in her, but it just hasn't really shown up yet.

uli's is pretty from what i can tell, but not amazing.

i have loved michael the entire time and i think he has created some amazing looks throughout the show, but his collection? from what i saw, it's mostly over the top baby phat style stuff that i can't imagine seeing someone in and not mocking them. he has incredible talent though and i'm sure he will go very very far.

Anonymous said...

Jeffery.

Anonymous said...

Though I'm a die-hard Laura fan, I don't think so... I was so underwhelmed and disappointed by her collection I almost couldn't eat for a week. I actually loved the chartreuse popsicle and wished she would have included it.

Michael is going to go really far, but he's got some dues to pay first... he's going to be a star someday but he still needs some refinement and polish to his designs, so no, not this year.

So that leaves...

...Uli or Jeffrey.... and though I'm no TALP lover, I gotta admit, that dress with the zippers totally rocked it. Uli's designs are much more wearable, but since when has fashion week been about common-sense and practicality?? :-)

coe booth said...

I really hope MICHAEL wins. He's the most consistent, and he seems like a really cool, down-to-earth guy!

Anonymous said...

Here's how I'm thinking it will go: Laura will be eliminated first. Too much of the same, though some elements were very well done. Michael will be eliminated second, because they'll say he needs time to mature. It will come down to Uli and Jeffrey. Because there was the whiff of scandal, like Kara Saun Jeffrey will be eliminated and Uli will take the prize.

Honestly, I think Uli deserves it the most. Jeffrey is already well established and an additional influx of $100,000 probably won't do much to boost his existing line any further than it is already, unlike Chloe who had not broken out of Houston. Uli on the other hand could use this boost to really make it big, and she should.

I am already suffering withdrawls from lack of my PRG fix that I'm willing to buy you'ze guys the season 1 and 2 DVDs so that you can take us through them with your wonderful witty commentary, and say what so richly deserved to be said.

Jeffrey.

I had hoped it would be Michael but his collection looks very cheap and streetish.

Anonymous said...

My prediction:

Uli wins.

Though I would love to see Jeffery take it away.

Anonymous said...

It's definitely Uli or Jeffrey, and I'm leaning toward Jeffrey. If they choose Uli, it's another "poor immigrant with a dream" scenario, a la Chloe, and I'm sure they don't want it to become one of those types of feel good shows. The other reason is that I really think they are setting Jeffrey up with this "scandal" so it will be more of a surprise when he wins. I like Laura and Micael, but I think they're going to tell Laura that it's more of the same, and Michael clearly is in the Daniel Vosovic class of not really being mature enough as a designer with a distinct and cohesive point of view.

It's TV, people, not reality, even though they call it a "reality" show. It's edited to tell a series of stories. Michael's story was complete when he won the back-to-back challenges (and unfortunately -- though I adore Michael -- his collection really fits his title of Street Jungle, with the emphasis on Street Walker). Jeffrey's and Laura's story arcs are complete with the cheating confrontation (and the resolution, which we'll see tonight). Uli's story just began to arc with the visit to Miami -- we learned more about here in that little blip than we learned all season. Uli will win.

Unknown said...

I think Uli will take it tonight.

I love Laura, but her OFW collection didn't look like a spring collection, and the range was a bit limited.

Michael's collection does seem a bit "Baby Phat," and it was a bit underwhelming.

Even though Jeffrey was not one of my favorites, his stuff seems the most cutting edge and we will have to see what the judges decide. I still don't understand why he was even accepted on PR since he already has a successful line (by Jeffrey's own admission).

I think Uli will win because her OFW collection looks the most like a spring collection.

Note to producers: Enough with the manufactured drama. This season was a dud compared to Season 2 (which was much for fun to watch for so many different reasons).

Cheers!

Jeffery (my personal favorite) or Uli. I'm not so much a fan of Uli's, as it's not my style, but many people seem to like it. It's not bad, but not my favorite.

Anonymous said...

I have to say, I think Jeffrey is going to win, mostly because he is the one who I most don't want to win, and my luck in these sorts of things is often bad. I also believe in the drama theory - that Jeff has been victimized, so he will triumph and overcome adversity. Blah blah blah.

On the other hand, while Project Runway is all about the drama, I do believe that in seasons 1 and 2, the person who made the best collection did win. I thought Jay's was more exciting and beautiful than Kara Saun's, and I thought that Chloe's, while a little drab, was also the best of the three finalists.

With that in mind, I am praying that the trend will continue and that either Laura or Uli will win. One-notes or not, what does it matter at this point? Their collections were gorgeous, and while as a person, Jeffrey has the most "edge," I also think that some of Laura's pieces were equally "edgy" as eveningwear. Plus, the gown on Camilla is just spectacular. Besides, whoever said you had to be "edgy" to win Project Runway? I thought the point was to be America's next "great" designer.

I guess we'll see what happens tonight.

Anonymous said...

I really want Michael to win, but I'm not sure who will take it. I hope and pray to the fashion Gods that it's not Jeffrey. But as a consellation prize for the little peanut, VH-1 should hire him to design the wardrobes for the next season of Flavor of Love. How's that for romantic and provocative?! Plus those crazy bitches are the only women i can see agreeing to wear his oh-so-hooker chic designs!

If the Dark Prince wins, the judges/producers will have to reconcile that victory with the fact that he made the ugliest dress in PR history in the Everyday Woman challenge. Robert never should've been aufed in that challenge--his dress may have been boring, but it was wearable and it pleased the client. I really don't see how such a disagreeable and hot/cold talent could take the whole enchilada. All season he's been negative and critical and hypocrtical. He even criticized Michael for making "diabetic clothes." He criticized Laura for repeatedly making "high-waisted" dresses [empire], then he chooses that silhouette for his signature piece in the last challenge to show how "romantic" he is. He's romatic, all right, just like Heathcliff is romantic--cold, cruel, boorish, and vengeful. How could they award him the top prize when his "couture" gown was merely a rip-off of what he saw draped on the mannekin when he walked into the fabric store embellished with the b.s. about the Statue of Liberty to impress the French. Yes, the Statue of Liberty was wearing a dress that looked draped. How genius. And there is no reason to handsew cotton--the reason for couture using hand techniques is the nature of the fine, delicate fabrics. Take your rippled zipper, Jeffrey, and go back to the fringes where your punk attitude belongs. You can't have it both ways. And what kind of a businessman are you that you have a problem with receipts? That's pretty slovenly. As for all his female devoted fans, well--as Sylvia Plath said, "Every woman adores a Fascist,
The boot in the face, the brute
Brute heart of a brute like you."

Laura, Michael, Uli--all of them have talent and skills and discipline. Jeffrey, you will not do.

Not to be all "free to be you and me" about it, but they ALL win.

You don't have to win project runway to WIN. They all have a ton of publicity and will have their own lines (unless they sit on their thrones and do nothing like Santino) or in some way build a career out of their exposure.

Prediction:

Michael Kors will say:

On Michael: "(sigh)Oh, Michael."

On Laura's C: "And those feathers...yech!"

On Uli: "I'll say this: it's a very clear point of view."

On Jeffrey's C: "The baby-doll-girl - she looked HUGE in that thing!"

And a reminder: they're ALL winners. :-) Some of the also-rans seem to have picked up the best gigs, like Austin designing wedding gowns, and Kara Janx and Nick who are suddenly all over the place with shows and blogs and TV gigs, Emmett with his store which has turned into PR central. This final four seems to be even more driven than those in the previous seasons, so I think they all do great, no matter who gets to drive off in the Saturn!*

*which Laura would have to trade in for a Suburban anyway. ;-)

The winners in decending order....Heidi, her co-producers, Bravo, NBC and finally Jeffrey.

Off topic but I don't know where to put this...

Did anyone else here get the Nordstrom "October 2006/cheers!" fashion catalog? It showed up here yesterday. I could NOT believe the outfit on page 18, it looks like Uli and Laura collaborated! Black skinny trousers under a top with a band neck collar, cut-in shoulders and empire waist, very much like Uli's tie dyed Elle magazine winner, but done in black lace over white printed charmeuse, JUST like Laura's B&W cocktail dress winner! My eyes almost popped out when I turned the page and saw it!

And the kicker? The outfit was attributed to "Michael Michael Kors"! Coincidence? I wonder?

this is what happens before the big breakup: the silence.

a growing distance, long silences, then the shocked query: "do you love me?" with the response simply an intake of breath, and a turning away of the beloved one as if the pathetic query was not heard.

it has always been before even that desperate point that i have sensed a difference in my beaux and thus moved immediately to the next new boy, quickly replacing the old beloved with a new and improved version. the inexplicable disenchantment of the old beau with the magnificence that is me so becomes simple history and no more.

finding the replacement before the actual goodbye is, of course, far preferable to being dumped.

the problem here, darlings, is that there is no substitute for the glory of you two. life without you is unimaginable and so this lifelong dump-before-being-dumped approach to relationships is going by the wayside and i am going to be begging, pleading, clinging to your ankles, rending my garments and ululating my despair as you two fabulous ones return to your lives.

First of all...and off subject...love that name Hatshepsut...saw her exhibit at the Met, now that was a fierce bitch, reminds me of Laura too

If God is drunk, peanut will win…he was drunk when peanut didn’t get aufed after that mess of a dress for Angela’s mom. But I love love love Robert. Jeffy’s look resembles what most young fashion student have showed during their senior projects at FIT…during the past two years…young, raw, and definitely not mainstream. Too niche if ya ask me, which you did…

Oh how I adore Laura…her look is definitely Madison Avenue (I did windows there for two years). I mean come on, after the Neo-Amish look of Jay, and the Dynasty-revival from Chloe, we need more a more contemporary elegance that Bad Mommy brings to the table. I think her son should be named Bobbin, since a majority of his time in the womb was spent with mom at the Singer….Bobbin R. Bennett, or does that have overtly sexual inferences to anyone else too?

Michael, love him but can anyone say Daniel V?

That leave our little Swiss Miss…in celebration of Oktoberfest, Oooli (as Tim would pronounce it) gets the crown. Know break out the bratwurst, schnitzel, and floral print lederhosen…we’re gonna kick up or heals at the hofbrau!

It pains me to write this, but I think pee-nutt, oops, I mean Jeffrey will win. As much as I adore Laura and Michael, their collections were not as innovative. Can't wait to see the clothes walking down the runway tonight. Thanks PRGayboys for making this so much fun!

Anonymous said...

I WANT Laura to win - but that's just because I adore her aesthetic and would love to have her as my personal designer.
However, given the edits (Michael winning Fan Favourite, Jeffrey possibly cheating, Laura being a "one note"), I'll calling it an Uli win. It's just had that "feel" to it, which makes me :( . Granted, it's because I don't like her aesthetic. ;)

Anonymous said...

For pure marketability of their designs it will be Laura or Uli. Jeffery's designs appeal to the LA Rock crowd (not exaclty INC material), Micheal's designs that he showed appeal to the HOT stripper/working girl crowd, again not exactly INC material.

I think its a toss up between Laura and Uli if Macy's has anything to say about it.

If not then its going to be between Micheal and Jeffery for pure innovative asthetic.

I'm voting for Laura. LOVE her stuff!

they've gone w/ the least controversial of the final three the last couple years.

This year that would be Michael, but I think as good as he is, he needs time to grow a bit - and he did win Miss Congeniality!

So I'll go with Uli as winner - she's a competent designer, she'd probably do well designing for a company like INC, and she wasn't terribly bitchy ... except the grabbing-up of Nazri, which she did apologize for as she did it. And she also said she did NOT want to be auf'd before Angela, which I don't blame her for).

(But I personally prefer Laura's designs myself, and think Jeffrey's are most fashion-forward)

Anonymous said...

I've said why I think Uli will win, here's why I want her to win. Two years in a row with a congenial, talented winner will discourage the Santinos and Jeffs of this world. Although, that kind of arrogance never takes the hint, does it? Oh well, I really don't mind the drama queens as long as they are funny. We need fodder for Tom & Lorenzo!

Oh, and Uli's collection is beautiful, varied and wearable.

My favorite: Laura--she makes clothes women would actually wear and look good in but she's clearly got money so I don't feel bad if she doesn't win.

My vote: Michael--he's young, he's talented, he's got the personality to succeed all he needs is the dough.

My Bet: Jeffery. I dislike his design aesthetic but its really hot right now and I don't think the producers would be spending as much time on him as they have been if he didn't win.

I think Uli's an appealing personality but one note in everything.

I'm sticking by my Dark Horse, Michael. I liked him from the beginning and ever since the Pam Grier ensemble, I've been looking for him to win it all. (Final look included--they all had missteps along the way--his showed up at the end.)

I bet Jeffrey wins. I liked his collection the best. If he has been DQ'ed and reduced to being a decoy then Uli.

To be honest, I won't be disappointed if Laura, Uli or Michael win. Laura's style is my favorite but I really like Michael and Uli. Really, it's such an accomplishment to make it to the finals that there are no losers.

I'm fabulous mommy's biggest fan and my vote is with her. But I'm afraid Jeffrey-the-lout produced the most innovative designs. He'll win IF he doesn't get kicked off. From the way the PR producers have been manipulating us (I wasn't born yesterday), he's IN.

THAT is exactly the reason I used for my pick of ULI- and the fact that her collection is really really tied together well.

we all want certain things in life. unfortunately we sometimes have to deal with the reality (am i referring to PR? chortle gfaw titter) that our ideals fall short of what's what. i am hoping the judges look to the past two winners of the runway and think s e r i o u s l y who they had chosen as the winner et all. the winner not only represents the fashion community, but all of us who shop for and wear.

who among the four is ready to take that leap of faith into the fashion frenzy and finally do something with the notoriety? who has the balls to be true to their POV and say.....it's me.....buy my stuff.

deego: ha!

Before predicting, people ought to check out the collection pix at NY magazine or sparklies.org. Jeffrey's is clearly the most innovative (albeit very Balenciaga-ish) but Uli shows a completely different side from what she did on the show. I bet the judges will eat that up.

Anybody understand what these odds mean? They're from bodog.com, the betting site recc'd upthread:

Laura 23/5
Uli 2/3
Michael 3/2
Jeffrey 8/11

Anonymous said...

i think its really hard...but the top two have got to be laura and jeffery. note that i said laura first.

Anonymous said...

I've already said I want Laura to win but I think Uli will take it.

Here are three signs that may prove to be significant omens -

1. Uli was the one caught rubbing the Buddha's belly -- great luck.
2. Michael lost the paper in his wallet, where he wrote he would win Project Runway last year.
3. Michael was lost on the way to watch the Reunion show at Laura's. (Lost underground - in the subway -- another bad omen).

Even if Laura loses, she will be get picked up by someone and be producing a clothing line that we will all buy.

Even if Jeffrey loses by being disqualified, he wins. It further his bad boy credibility.

I do hope the judges see that Laura's designs are timeless, classic pieces of elegance. She would elevate the sophistication level of women everywhere.

Sigh. The judges may opt for the Homer Simpson School of Design Aesthetics, instead.

Anonymous said...

My guess is that Bravo will pull yet another surprise twist...winner TBA next week. ;)

I watch for the design not the drama so a winner at this point is anti-climatic.

There is a definite customer base for each one of the remaining four.

In reality the real winner/winners is/are the one/ones that will seize the day and run with it!

Kayne, Kayne, Kayne!!!

Oops, guess I skipped a few shows in my dreams. I really thought as the season progressed that Micheal would win, based on his range and how the judges responded to him. Then, the show. He TOTALLY went back to his pre-PR days and did a completely hoochie-mama collection. I don't think our judges will like that. I love Laura, and her collection is beautiful, but I think the judges already have their mind made up on her. So it is down to Uli and Jeffrey, and I think it is a toss-up between those two. While I totally dislike Jeffrey, and have had NOTHING good to say about him before this, I was very surprised by the range of his collection, and I think the judges will like it. However, Uli's was very nice, and I think it really should win. I was right the first two seasons, so who knows, maybe I have a divining rod pointed in the right direction.

Team Jeffrey....I just want to see a great show.....

I just hope that Nina doesn't talk the other judges out of their decisions. Did anyone else hear about that? Tim Gunn spoke about it in an interview about how they had all decided and then Nina started giving her case about Chloe and got all the judges to changes their minds.

That is scary folks.

Breaking news......
MK just called and remembered Tim's words. Ah, yes Orange is the new black. Season 4 Hawtlanta will be designing MK's clothes.

Anonymous said...

It's Uli v. Jeffrey. Could go either way. Jeffrey already has a popular, functioning line and has the publicity now (and I'm betting, his name is cleared tonight). And he's a freak, no matter how humanized. Last year they went with dull old Chloe rather than a young Turk (Daniel V) or a funny loon. (Santino). Michael is this year's Turk, Jeffrey is loonier (and meaner) than Santino and Laura is just rich and doesn't need the help.

All are worthy in some respect. Carry on, y'all

wannabe.

Tim says in his podcast Uli is willing to move from her beloved Miami to make it in fashion, so she'd be easier to work with.

Anonymous said...

Yes, Daniel should have won last year, but Nina loved Chloe's designing. That is why I think Michael or Jeff may win.....Nina pretty much liked both of their designs.

Uli 2/3 (for every $3 bet-$2 will be paid out.)

Jeffrey 8/11 (for every $11 bet-$8 will be paid out.)

There is an article in the Miami Herald paper that predicts Uli won.

"But there's something about Herzner these days that suggests Germany is one move she's not contemplating. She seems so unguarded. So excited about the future. So . . . happy.

You won, didn't you?

''You know I can't tell you,'' she says quietly. And blankly.

Our guess: She doesn't lose."

Anonymous said...

It'll be between Jeffrey and Uli. I think Laura is brilliant at what she does but I don't see the judges being thrilled with her collection. Michael's collection...oy. I wish he was the winner but even I can defend the hoochiness. Jeffrey's collection was a bit of a departure from what he did on the show and I think the judges are looking for a younger market (Chloes Couch Couture be damned). Uli's clothes are still Uli but there's enough variation from what she did on the show and again, her market is pretty big.

Anonymous said...

Anybody understand what these odds mean? They're from bodog.com, the betting site recc'd upthread:

Laura 23/5
Uli 2/3
Michael 3/2
Jeffrey 8/11

The higher the odds the less likely it is felt that the person will win.

Based on the odds expressed above, Uli has a seven times greater chance of winning than Laura.

Uli has greater than twice the chance of winning as Michael.

Uli and Jeffrey are virtually tied, with Uli having a very slight advantage.

Anonymous said...

Its hard...
I think Mikey might get a Danny V tonight. the hole "oh your great but I dont think you have found your voice yet" thing "oh he is so young he is going places but.."

Laura -just dont designing for real women not every one is a NY City Park ave mom. Not eveyone has a cocktail party to go to every weekend. and most people with more than one kid dont have a body like hers (mind you she congrats to her for still having that body after all those kids)

Uli- while i LOVE her stuff and I think alot more women can get away with her clothing than Lauras I dont think he stuff is very now I think its all sort of out if you look at what is comeing down the runway this year.

Jeff- his stuff is what is in this year. so if they let him even compeat then he will win.

I'm surprised there are so many expectations for Jeffrey to win. Talented or untalented, cheater or victim, the guy's been edited as the Obnoxious Ass from Day One. And the Obnoxious Ass never wins.

Hopefully, I won't have to eat those words. If you'd asked me a couple of weeks ago who was going to win, I'd say Michael all the way. But that collection is shaping up to be all the wrong kinds of "nasty". My money's on Laura.

honestly I wasn't a huge fan of anyone's actual clothes.

I should have mentioned that you convert the odds to a decimal number by treating the odds as a fraction.

For Laura you would convert 23/5 to 4.60

For Uli you would convert 2/3 to .667

For Jeffrey you would convert 8/11 to .727

The smallest number is the favorite.

Divide the smallest number into the others to see the odds versus the favorite.

Let's not forget Uli stole Michael's muse.
Uli has the cinderella immigrant story like Chloe. Immigrant+dream= superachiever.

Let Jeffrey and Laura have Sewgate,
let Michael be the fan favorite,
Uli is going to come from behind for a photo finish win (yes the is another gambler here).

But then it is not an even playing field when
Jeffrey has a bigger studio than Fashion Prison Parsons and
better sewing machines that can stitch leather etc.

It will all come down to the Flava of the Day. I wonder which fruit they are going to pick from the basket......yummy...delicious

The Ft. Lauderdale paper is also favoring Uli if you read between the lines. They definitely disliked Michael's collection. :-( The one day that I don't read the Miami Herald's Tropical Life is the day with the feature on Uli! Doesn't that just figure?

Anonymous said...

Yes, anonymous, Uli did steal Michael's muse. She was like Delilah cutting off Samson's hair. In this case, the hair belonged to Nazri.

I think Michael lost his focus from that point forward.

I'm not sure that Uli didn't steal Nazri with two intents - the better model and getting Michael off of his game.

Well, it's a competition. If she played it that way - kudos to her!

It always seems to be the second best designer (performance wise on the show) that gets the win.

Season 1: Kara Saun was the one the judges raved about during the regular season, but Jay ended up winning.

Season 2: The judges ADORED Daniel V, but then Chloe ended up winning.

Therefore, since Michael seems to have been the best designer this season (with him constantly being in the top two or three with each episode), I think it will probably be Uli. It seems as if she's rarely been towards the bottom, but she hasn't won that many challenges. I think she'll probably take it all tonight.

(About Jeffrey)
"He's making clothing that is very "in" right now and I love it. I'd totally wear all of his stuff. It's about time they recognized some edgy/rock inspired clothes!"

And therein is, from my perspective, the cause for much of the debate, of late. Having been to a good number of rock concerts in the 70's and, to an extent, the 80's, I've seen his clothing countless times. I daresay that there wasn't a single band that at least one member didn't have Jeffrey's Jetsetter outfit, minus the sparkle nuts -- well, except the New York Dolls, but that's an entirely different matter.

If one is too young to remember those days -- and there's certainly nothing wrong with that -- I can see how one might feel that his designs are fresh. (And if you are old enough to have seen the 70's bands in concert, you probably have no business considering buying one of his pieces, unless it's a gift.)

As for his OFW collection, from the pics, it looks like he went a little less R&R than his competition designs.

As for my vote, I'll wait until I can see all them all walk the runway. That way, when I'm wrong, at least it will be an informed fuck-up.

Laura's the best sewer, but it's not a sewing competition, it's a fashion competition, so Uli's gonna take it.

Sweet Jesus, I love Laura.

She has a blog on Bravo and says:
"I really think that the direction I need to go is that I need to reach out to women and tell them that they can add glamour to their lives. And I think that patterns are a great way for anyone to feel better about themselves."

About the Rothko:
"No, it’s not a real Rothko, it’s not a real Warhol. This is what we do in our family. My boys love sports and, you know, rough games, and I just don’t do that. A ball will come flying at me, and you know, I just sort of turn and cringe. So what I do with my children is paint and and sew and build structures and crafts.

It’s sort of what we do, we’ll study an artist and sort of emulate the style. So that huge big blue painting that people see in the background, when Tim is moving quickly away from turtle poop, was actually done by my ten year old, and it’s done with rollers. And it’s house paint. And it’s just applied on that big canvas with rollers. We were looking at Rothkos. I don’t think that’s even his color palette. But I love that people thought that."

Teaches her sons about art, paints with them and displays it in her home.

We should all be Bad Mommies!

It has to be Jeffrey. If I wanted Laura's clothes I could go to Dillards (hmm...they sell INC there, so maybe she WILL win...), but seriously Jeffrey's is the best. And poor Michael, what a hideous collection (from the photos I've seen online).

Anonymous said...

I am going for JEFFREY all the way. Although in some challenges he was in the bottom two, he is the most creative and talented designer that has been capable of showing different versions of his style. And yes, I don't think he cheated. Compared to the others, he had the best equipment available to do his job, which I think is completely fair.

I like Uli and Michael too, but mostly as human beings. Besides, these designers seem to be strugling with their careers and need the prizes to jump start their success in the fashion industry. Uli designs are very easy going and beautiful, and she kept true to her style all this season, but I think she needs to take more risks, more ULI EXPLOSION!![I would wear all her dresses, I live in the Caribbean!] Michael is VERY talented, still he doesn't know what his strengths yet. He took great risks by exploring his abilities, but I think he needs to mature as a designer, he's young, he's got time to do so! I applaud him for being brave by trying different styles.

Laura has a great talent, as in detailing. But still I see her garments, and feel like I've seen then before. Even in the last challenge, the dress looked almost exactly like the one she has on the opening on the show. I'm not saying I don't like her style, I do, but it doesn't feel creative, innovative, not suit for a competition. Yes, it is glamorous, but I think Project Runway is more about picking a designer who will truly give a great contribution to the fashion industry. Besides, this woman has already a successful career as an architect, and as an architect I know how hard that is, so a career change at that point in life seems like looking to get out of boredom with architectural success. Instead of Laura, I think it could have been a more interesting finale with Alison in the final four, every time I see that recycling challenge I feel angry to see her go instead of Vincent. huge mistake!

Anonymous said...

My favorite at this point is Uli...if I were a woman, she'd be the designer whose styles I'd be most apt to wear.

But after seeing the pictures online from their shows, I think Laura has the strongest collection.

Jeffrey surprised me, but he's such a turdblossom...yeah, that's pretty much it. Turdblossom.

And I like Michael's stuff normally, but I don't think his collection really has much cohesion. I think he needs a couple of years' experience and he'll rock!

Anonymous said...

I'm going to go with Uli. I love Laura madly, I like her collection, I wish it could be her, but I don't think the judges will think she's "suprised" them enough. YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!

I knew it! I f-ing KNEW it!

And for the record, even if you don't like Jeffrey's stuff and think it's ugly, it doesn't matter because what the judges said is EXACTLY how fashion works.

But I really hated that god awful bubble dress thing with the waist right under the breasts. That was hideous.

Jeffrey's work SUCKS.

Project Runway judges SUCK.

If the show continues, lets hope they replace the judges.

Innovative designs -- all items I swear I boxed up and donatedto Goodwill in the late 70's/early 80's.

Fern -- what happened? Your advice to Santino last year about needing to be nice was no longer pertinent?
