Stylista preview!

Darlings, Tootie Slowey is on her way and Elle has the preview!

They're really pushing that Devil Wears Prada vibe, aren't they? Still, it looks like a boatload of bitchy fun.

"Designer fashions within arms reach, mentorship by one of the most respected editors in the business… sounds like a dream come true for any fashion editor wannabe. Stylista, the CW’s newest reality television show, which airs October 29, follows 11 aspiring ELLE employees as they vie for a spot at the coveted glossy. But make no mistake, these fashion hopefuls have some pretty tough days ahead of them. From humbling assistant challenges (who hasn’t had to fetch coffee on her rise to the top?) to social-climbing endeavors and even a few fashion disasters, this series will have even the most style-challenged viewers on the edges of their seats. And as if the show couldn’t get any better, other renowned ELLE staffers, such as creative director Joe Zee and fashion bookings editor (and ELLE.com blogger) Malina Joseph, also make appearances. Trends may come and go, but one thing is certain this fall—ambition is in fashion."

I know, I can't wait!

I don't like the onslaught of new fashion reality shows. I like Project Runway because ultimately, it's based on design and talent, not "Who will humiliate themselves the most for some uppity magazine editor bitch and the American public?" I doubt I will watch it. Ms. Slowey be damned.

Interesting (and funny) how they've repackaged this since the first previews. I'm guessing they got hammered by the critics (or maybe they just read all the mocking blog comments).

But I did time at Hachette Filipachi, and I can tell you that a job a Elle is no prize.

What do you mean, they repackaged it? How was it different before?

I totally agree. Since when does being an unreasonable bitch make you fashion? Anne Slowey: you're no celebrity; you don't need to act like a diva. I will definitely NOT be watching this show.

Bill and Patsy Stone, I'll be sitting on the couch right beside you watching the wreck!

And we all love to watch train wrecks, don't we? ;-))

Although I think I would have slapped Slowey's niece all the way into New Jersey (which she would probably consider a fate worse than a fate worse than death!).

Bang the drum, Slowey. You still suck. However, I fully intend to buy shares in the manufacturer of gauze, because the amount they are shooting her through could make that company's whole year. And the Botox people, of course.

I'll only watch it if TLo blogs it!

The Valley's CW!? That's my local affiliate. Cool.

This is sad. Sadness and desperation and humiliation packaged as a TV show. Don't think I'll be watching. Oh and Anne....airbrush much? Good lord, someone is a Jerry Hall wanna-be.

I was going to ask what kind of work Anne had done before this show. She's completely unrecognizeable from her visit to PR.

I'll probably watch. What can I say? I am a reality TV 'ho.

Didn't we dismiss this already?

It's like an unwelcome rerun before the first one has had time to stink...

TLo,
How could you replace that gorgeous picture of Tia with Ann Slowey? There's not enough botox, soft focus lenses or photoshop tools to make up for the loss.

Why? Why? Why? < wounded animal >

THIS is what Too Much Tootie sold her soul for?

Hee!
But there's no lipo for stupid.

Yes, yes, of course I will watch the train wreck. Contrived? certainly (c'mon, throwing the coat on the desk a'la Streep? Not so original). I doubt the little girl actress is her niece. But I am a "reality show" (reality is a misnomer in this case) junkie.

But the big question is: Anne Slowey can't walk in heels???? Getting out of that car and walking in made it look like it was her first time in big girl shoes!?!!

Well, the trainwreck is almost all of reality TV, really. I've tried to watch other shows --and come away feeling sullied. And then I remember... oh yes, there's always Masterpiece Theatre and I should go there. But then, I can't because reality TV has helped to shortem my attention span!

Okay, secretly, I'm pulling for the "Ugly Betty." I'm hoping at the end she reveals herself to be Ann Slowey's daughter who was conceived in the rain during a fake Woodstock event while listening to a tribute band for the Stones. Back then, Ann was known as "Cha Cha," ironic because she can barely walk in old age.

I saw her at JFK about a month ago. The whole reason I realized it was her is because she had this FABULOUS Marc Jacobs bag and so I wanted to see who the lucky girl was that owned it. Turned out to be Anne Slowey!! She was gracious and seemed very nice. She was very nice to her driver and she was accompanying her mother, who was in a wheelchair.

She seemed like a very nice person.

I LOVE YOU TLO!!!
