Don't these people watch previous seasons? Vincent traced his pants for the jet setter challenge last year, and nobody got on his case....oh well, any excuse for a bitchfest!

Even if you tried your hardest to block Vincent out while watching S3, you still caught the (surprisingly humorous and endearing) segment of him tracing his pants for a pattern.

Come on, Season 4.

I knew Rami was a little whiny bitch. Please, stop complaining and make another stupid wrap dress for Jessica Alba. Don't forget the flower.

Is it just me or does Rami come across as really pompous and annoying?

Sweet Pea is emerging as the true bitch of this season. "I'd ask if it's okay, it seems like... I don't know."

Oh screw you, bitch! If you think it's cheating, get it out there!

Vincent did it *less* than a year ago!

And did anyone check Sweet P's tatoos?? I wouldn't be suprised if they're crib notes.

BTW, I'll bet Jack is wearing that tank top JUST for the viewers at home.

wonder if this preview has anything to do with the "This Season on Project Runway" clip that shows Jack standing by Tim and crying????

GothamTomato said...

...and what is Rami complaining about anyway?
For the first challenge, he made a toga which is, technically, origami.

Is that allowed in the rules?

My thoughts exactly!

Anonymous said...

Technically origami is just the art of folding paper. Folding fabric would be, I dunno, orinuno or something.

I want to not hate Rami but he's not making it easy. But maybe the previews are exaggerating. Last week made it seem like Elisa and Sweet P were going to self-destruct and they actually worked together to create a great garment (no matter how the editing tried to portray it).

Anonymous said...

Looks like it's a menswear challenge.
I do not think Jack was wrong to use his shorts, but I can hardly blame Rami for feeling like the rub off is a cheat. I think the Project Runway producers decide the rules as they go along.

Anonymous said...

If he is....thank you, thank you, thank you. Rami wore his tank in the first episode but Jack looks way better and isn't "whining".

yeah Rami is a whiny lil bitch... Jack do your thing!
If it is a mens challenge then woo hoo we get to see some Male Models!!

Anonymous said...

YES! The battle of the tanktops. LOVE IT!!!

LOL I love it.
I vote for Jack.

Next week: battle of the daisy dukes - Chris vs Christian.

Anonymous said...

Jack vs. Rami ... I vote for Jack. Rami strikes me as a pissy, passive-aggressive queen. Looks like Jack is just employing some clever strategy ... but like anon 2:56 and gorgeous thing, I wonder if that preview we saw with Jack and Tim in the season opener has to do with this. I originally thought it had something to do with Jack's hiv status, but since it's in his Bravo bio I figured the cat was out of the bag up front. Regardless, Jack is good tv!

Anonymous said...

If it was against the rules don't you think the producers would say something during the challenge? I agree that Jack is just employing some clever strategy and Rami "I want my Mommy" is just jealous. Maybe it is cultural, but he just is not very warm and likeable. I want to like him but I still have Jack, Steven and Kevin.

Anonymous said...

I vote for Christian. For the daisy duke contest.

Anonymous said...

Another group challenge? *sigh*...

Anonymous said...

Jack does not cry because of breaking rule or soley because of his HIV status. It's all out there on the net if you really want to know.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Rami didn't watch Season 4. I thought it was weird that nobody said anything last season about Vincent tracing his pants and basically reproducing them for the jet-setter challenge. That's not original work. I mean if pattern books are not allowed, why is it okay to use your own clothes as patterns?

I don't blame Rami for questioning the rules. He has more grounds than Laura who lodged an accusation of cheating based on mere "gut feeling". At least in this case, Rami has witnessed with his own eyes Jack using his pants as a pattern.

Anonymous said...

Please...Rami sucks.

ChristopherM said...

All I can say is that if I were the other contestants, I'd be happy that Jack is using those tired shorts to make a pattern, because that is going to be one ass-ugly outfit!

Anonymous said...

How can they do a group challenge with 13 contestants?? That's a prime number. Maybe there are groups with different numbers of participants?

Unless Jack leaves due to his HIV+ status before the groups are picked? No, that doesn't make sense either.

I'm confused. But that's not unusual.

Anonymous said...

I don't know I'll be able to take an impartial stand on any conflicts this season because I'll be too busy drooling over Rami (and his tank tops).

Anonymous said...

"ToddNY said...

LOL.Yummy!

Anonymous said...

Another team challenge? Why? Seriously why?

Anonymous said...

I don't think they are working in groups. Rami seems upset that Jack is letting Victorya use Jack's shorts for Victorya's garment. Perhaps that's the issue - that Jack could use his shorts for himself, but not for others?

Anonymous said...

But isn't that against the rules? It should be.

Anonymous said...

I don't see the problem with jack using his shorts. Well, well, it seems that Rami is finally showing his true colors.

Anonymous said...

It opens up an entire can of worms. What if the female designers start using their own clothes to trace patterns?

If pattern books are forbidden, why are they "allowed" to use their own clothing to do the same? That smacks of cheating. Vincent should have been reprimanded last season.

Rami has every right to question the rules. At least he is confronting Jack to his face and not running to New York Magazine with his gripes.

You know, that's a very good point. I didn't think of that.

Lilithcat said...

Rami has every right to question the rules.

No, he doesn't.

He has the right to ask whether something is within the rules, but he does not have the right to question the rules themselves. He, like all the other designers, agreed to them when he contracted to be on the show. If he didn't like them, he didn't need to participate.

Anonymous said...

Not a fan of Rami since episode 1, he comes across as a smug sob, that lacks the talent to back it up, BUT... he has a valid point--Jack's shorts are a pattern--seems totally wrong and kind of foolish when all these people are talented enough to design without patterns or they would not have gotten this far. I think Jack should know better and if he gets auf'd I wonder if Ricky will cry...no, wait Ricky will anyway. :D

Anonymous said...

Okay, if they are making men's pants, does that mean that this is the Eppy with Jon Bon Jovi? =D

Anonymous said...

No, he doesn't.

Truer words were never spoken. Rami is a whiny, little Beeotch. I knew I disliked him from the moment I saw his smug little face.

Anonymous said...

Jack took off his shorts in the second episode??? What's going to happen in the third episode? Is he going to show his penis? PLEEEASE!! That's a bit too much, don't you think?

Anonymous said...

Thanks to Keith Michael posting his contract on BPR last year, I've read the rules and while there are plenty of stipulations forbidding the use of patterns and pattern books, it does not explicitly specify use of one's own clothing as patterns. This is apparently a legal "gray area" in the contract.

Now I could see future contestants using their own clothes to trace patterns as part of their "strategy" if they refuse to address this issue. Kudos to Rami for bringing up a valid point.

If Jack is so talented, he should be able to design pants without tracing his own clothes.

I'm not prudish, I love naked men but there's a time and a place for that...I expect him to design clothes not get naked every freaking episode.

Anonymous said...

Oh, please, Mario... I think most of us have already seen Jack's ass and penis. Did you miss his "photo shoot"? Just google it. Jack's naughty bits can be seen on most gossip sites. That's old news! *yawn*

I doubt he gets naked dear...but if he does who cares. Have yourself a cocktail and calm down.

"Jack does not cry because of breaking rule or soley because of his HIV status. It's all out there on the net if you really want to know."

I actually got booted off TWOP for "intentionally spoiling" this, even though everything but his HIV+ status was in spoiler tags. Not to mention, spoilers have been wrong before. If Jack goes in this episode, that would make the spoiler all over the intenets incorrect.

If Vincent used his pants for a pattern last year without anyone batting an eyelash, why is it an issue now? Unless the contract changed to exclude one's own clothing (and if he gave the shorts to VictorYA, that's still within that "rule"), Rami's just being a baby because he didn't think of it first.

Gotham Tomato you are hysterical. As always, you know what you are talking about - you should have your own blog.

Amen sister. It looks like Jacks sharing the pattern with Carmen and Vic. If Rami played well with others I'm sure Jack would share with him. (he seems like a really nice guy.)

TheQuietOne said...

Nobody said Rami couldn't whip off his own pants, dismantle them and make his own pattern. Maybe he's just upset that he didn't think of it first.
In fact some people would probably have liked to see him do that. :) Not me, but somebody might.

Anonymous said...

Also Mario - he was simply getting ready in the morning in the first episode. (Is it really his fault the Gay editors/cameramen know their target audience) Last I checked he wasn't poll dancing or giving Chris a lap dance.

Anonymous said...

It seems odd to me that that Jack would be tracing his own shorts for a pattern -- isn't his background in menswear? I remember that Vincent did the tracing because he'd never designed menswear before; why would Jack have to do it? Confused. Will have to wait for ep. Hate waiting.

But seriously, it seems like PR is short on drama so far. This is it? Whining over shorts? And there was precious little squabbling, let alone out-and-out eye-scratching, during last week's "partners" challenge. I feel cheated. I hope at least that Ricky cries a bit this week.

Anonymous said...

No, no, no...Rami was pissed off because he didn't think of taking his pants off first.

Anonymous said...

There's nothing stopping Rami or any of the other guys from taking off their pants and tracing their own clothes, too.

Just because Jack did it first doesn't prevent anyone else from doing the same.

But I really don't see the point of this being a design contest if all of them start tracing their own clothes. That kinda defeats the purpose of this show.

Vincent was lazy. Sadly, it seems Jack is too.

Anonymous said...

" Anonymous said...

There should be rules preventing them from doing that, then. It's just not right. They banned Keith for having pattern books under the bed. The guy is using his shorts right there in front of everybody. That's not fair, especially if they're doing menswear.

Anonymous said...

It looks like somebody else is using the shorts, not Jack.

Anonymous said...

Jack doesn't need to use his shorts to make a pattern. He's sacrificed them for the common good!

Go Jack!

I've seen three previews now and all I gotta say is there must be something more to the challenge than the fact that designers without menswear experience are making menswear and they've all got a terribly tight deadline. Why are they freaking out SO MUCH?

The "client" must be a real oddball.

Anonymous said...

That's cheating!! Rami is absolutely right!!!!!

Well, if Jack is allowed to trace his own shorts, then all of them should be allowed to trace their own clothes.

I wonder what little Christian looks like without his pants, LOL.

Anonymous said...

It's funny that Jack -- the only menswear designer -- is the one who is tracing his own clothes.

Vincent only did it because he's a womanswear designer and never did menswear before.

That's no excuse. Chloe had never done menswear either and she did a fantastic job (in fact won the challenge) without any extra help.

I wish you guys would talk more about Elisa Jimenez. Compared with the other designers, she does architecture --not decoration. (With the exception of the "fabric pooing" behind the model in the first challenge.)

Anonymous said...

I would hardly call it lazy - if it's not breaking the rules...it's a great idea and I, for one, hope he wins. Someone bitch slap whiny Rami.

P.S I think Elisa has had plenty of "air" time.

Jack has a great body but there's something weird about his face. Has he had work done? It looks odd. He's such a "Muscle Mary" - very ripped but such a fey voice.

Who has more tattoos: Jack or Sweet Pea?

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately, the wierd thing about Jack's face is not that he have (cosmetic surgery) work done. It's lipoatrophy, fat loss to the face and other body parts as a side effects of the HIV meds.

Unknown said...

if doing rub-offs isn't specifically against the rules, it should be. this gave me a fit in season 3. (and who knows what specific clauses were including in the season 4 contract).

i just can't see how it's different than using a pattern book. it IS using someone else's pattern. in a way worse than using a pattern book, because in that case, at least you have to do some work to bring the pattern up to size!

Let the bitch fest begin! If past seasons are any indication, the most obnoxious designer, the one that the other designers have the biggest problem with and the one all fans hate the most will be one of the three finalists. Which is too bad since better designers get kicked off to make room for "drama" and tension.

Anonymous said...

I don't think it's against the rules to trace your own clothes since Vincinet did it last year and nothing was said about it... however it is kind of fishy to me and I think the other designers are right to be questioning it.

To anyone else did it look like it was Victorya who had the idea to trace the shorts? I'm going to rewatch...

Anonymous said...

Victorya gets on my nerves. Don't ask me why, she just does.

yawningdog said...

Is the difference, that Vincent did a 'rub-off', getting a general pattern from an existing garment while Jake disassembled his shorts into an actual pattern.

Anonymous said...

OMG, it's a motherf***ing rub-off!

lisasabatier said...

mstacy, I'm with you. Victorya is way too smug, considering those dresses she has made so far. Give me Christian any day.

I like the voices this season.

Carmen has a very pleasant bass. And interestingly, if my eyes are closed, I cannot distinguish Christian from Simone.
