Who says Laura Bennett doesn't do menswear?

Thanks to eagle-eyed reader Bill, we can show you this scan from the current issue of Time Out New York Kids. It's Laura's redesign of Santa's outfit and we have to say, it's pretty damn cool. We want that jacket.
And before you ask, she's still pregnant.

Wow, still preggers!!!
The Santa redesign is cute, do I smell a future challenge in the way? Pick a holiday and redesign the traditional getup?
Amazingly talented. She breathes our culture. Coolness flows through her veins. She's hip without trying. I adore this woman.
What a brilliant design! She really thought about. The fur thing cracks me up! Laura's sketches are always beautiful too.
Yeah, but I bet she's made him a sparkly little cocktail number with a plunging neckline, to wear underneath.
(I mean, let's not kid ourselves; we all know that Mrs. Claus has always been the real beard there.)

That is so contemporary and so 2086. I love it. Laura is beyond fabulous, and amazingly talented.
I love how kids -- both her own and others -- are a big part of her life, but she still manages to have a life of her own.
Still pregnant? She must be taking the "bad mommy" bitch thing to a whole new level these days. How miserable for her. I hope that kid comes soon!
LOVE the santa. He's awesome.
Adorable!
Thanks for adding the info about still being preggars. She must be feeling miserable. Time for a long bath and a glass of wine. Maybe that will induce labor?
It reminds me of Kara Saun's postal worker makeover.
Yay! Love the lack of fur!
Still pregnant? Yikes.
How adorable! Thanks, guys. I love Laura!
Yeah, looks like she made Santa trim the beard and lose a buncha weight too.
I think her message to kids is clear, but theres one for the men as well: fat, slovenly, unkempt and style-challenged need not convey "jolly". There's no excuse in her world, and she's on a mission to make her world our world.
I'll not stand in her way. :D
Love the Santa re-do! but still preggers! If I were her, I'd send the kids to the OB's house with orders not to come home without a C-section date! I bet it would take all of 15 minutes, 10 if they take the turtle!
Aw, Laura, we know you or Bad Daddy are reading this, so I'll just say: God luvya!
PS - Gay Boys, I've never been able to get the pix with ".png" tag to download... Anybody else have this problem?
She must have gotten sucked into the Fur Debate on the Jay thread. I stayed out of that one.
I love the sketch, I love this woman, I love everything she does.
Martha Stewart, be afraid, very afraid.

I couldn't have put it better!
She's still pregnant? What the hell is she giving birth to? Isn't she WAAY overdue? This child will be walking out of her uterus at this rate!! That poor woman! My last child was 3 days late and I was losing my mind. Someone had better be standing outside the delivery room with a martini (I vote that it be you guys)!
Maybe the gestation period is just longer for those who are FABULOUS :P
I do hope she has that baby soon. The poor thing must be miserable!
The messinger bag needs to be a tad bigger to accommodate several charged, spare batteries for the laptop. After all, Santa works all night long across all the time zones. It would be sad if the laptop crapped out half way through.

I think she's twelve days late. Poor woman; she probably hasn't left her apartment in a week. I hope that baby doesn't suck the fabulosity out of her, but I doubt that it will -- no baby, not even a Bennet child, is a match for Laura. Ms. Place said it best: "Amazingly talented. She breathes our culture. Coolness flows through her veins. She's hip without trying. I adore this woman."
Right, it's Tuesday. Sorry. I think she's actually thirteen days late.
That is so cute. I'm so buying the magazine.
"She's hip without trying."
I agree 100%. There's something tremendously appealing about Laura. I love everything about her.
I love this woman. Even her Santa Claus is hip and trendy. Keep us posted, boys.

Awwwwww, how sweet.
It's always a pleasure and a nice surprise to see something about Laura on my favorite blog ; - )
Great Santa outfit, but I think it needs some beadwork.

ROFL! Yes, you're right, that's exactly what is missing here!
L-O-V-E H-E-R!!!!
How can she still be pregnant?! Isn't she about four months late?
She was due Nov 15 but it may seem like 4 weeks to her by now.
