Man, we knew she was nuts but even we were surprised at this one.

Oh, sorry. Are we being unclear? Here, let us help you out:

We repeat:

Did you photoshop or is that really what she's wearing? How did she pass the psych profile to get on the show?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

OMG, I was JUST going to ask if you guys Photoshopped that in! How funny!

She's the reason they now *have* a psych profile to get on this show!

Totally has nothing to do with this post... but I just watched video of you boys at Laura's baby shower!!

http://www.bravotv.com/Fashion_Forward/videos/index.php

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving!!

And P.S.... Bitch IS crazy! :)

Anonymous said...

I saw those in the episode when I watched it with my friends last weekend (we had to watch the whole season; like a bag of chips, we couldn't just have one). I immediately pointed them out to my friends and they died laughing.

Honestly, I think she would have passed a psych profile anyway. Just because she's cold and calculating doesn't mean she's crazy. Though the AK-47 earrings do tend to lean toward this end of crazy.

HOLY SHIT HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THAT!!!

Oh that's just wrong....

Whoa. Talk about some superior screen shot skills. Hats off, guys. I've watched these episodes three times and never saw the assault rifle earrings. So many clues to the woman's true character! Did she ever wear weasels in her ears? Rats? Witches? Bad dye jobs?
And <3 anonymous really should double check a dictionary before he questions your grammar. The nerve!

eric3000 said...

I definitely noticed those. But to be fair, doesn't everyone in the South wear gun jewelry? I know they all have the Confederate flag painted on their cars, right?

Anonymous said...

If they only held real bullets!

Anonymous said...

OMG that is so funny. That bitch is really crazy.

Anonymous said...

I didn't noticed them at all. LOL. Thanks, boys. Where can I buy a pair?

Fnarf said...

YESSS! I noticed those while watching the DVD, and froze them myself to confirm that I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. My wife and I turned to each other and said the same thing: "PRGayboys field day!"

This is in my best Kayne-bow accent: "She crazy!"

She's loonier than Carmen Miranda's fruit hat. That woman has no taste or class. How she makes a living hawking her wares in Middleburg is beyond me. Perhaps her clientele are the nouveau riche flooding the area.

Anonymous said...

Holy Crap! Do you boyz have a 110 inch TV that lets you see this stuff?
I'm from Texas & "even our womenfolk don't wear that stuff y'all!" Yes they can shoot & carry shotguns in their trucks but they draw the line atassault rifle jewlery.

Anonymous said...

For Ms. Place..."How she makes a living hawking her wares in Middleburg is beyond me. Perhaps her clientele are the nouveau riche flooding the area."

It's not just nouveau riche - lots of old money out there in the horsey set. True, "bitch is crazy" but to be fair I've seen her stuff & she does design well for her clients.

Anonymous said...

Wow, I never would have noticed that! You boys lend so much to my fav show.

btw, I think you were too nice to Wendy over on one of the other threads. Bitch threw Austin under the bus with absolutely no provocation! She's horrible.

chardin said...

Oh, stop giving yourselves the vapors.

They're not assault rifles; they're Thompson submachine guns. The tommy-gun is not some hyper-modern, carbon-fiber Robocop weapon. It dates back to the 1920's. It's a gun, yes, but it has a retro vibe. Any movie buff worth his salt will remember Paul Muni gloating over a tommy gun in "Scarface".

This is a Tommy gun.

This is an AK-47.

This is the disorder exhibited by people who react with fear and loathing to the above.

Anonymous said...

Very helpful, chardin. Do you think you could provide a link for people who suffer from a lack of a sense of humor?

Anonymous said...

ROFL. She is c-r-a-z-y! Besides, those earrings are so tacky.

Anonymous said...

yeah i noticed those earrings, which leads me to something else. How can a fashion designer have so little sense of fashion themselves? When they pan away and show her saggy pants and bulging tummy I always shake my head in disbelief.

Anonymous said...

I love Wendy. LOL. How can you not love this woman? Tacky, cold, calculated...and she sells gourmet lolliepops!

"Lollie Peppers, the new gourmet lolliepops created by Della Curry (food goddess) and Wendy Pepper (designer extraordinaire) satisfy the Freudian cravings in all of us."

http://www.lolliepeppers.com/

I LOVE HER!

Anonymous said...

The "Freudian cravings in all of us"? That's just a little bit weird. What, the craving to suck on tiny, brightly colored women?

I guess you're not allowed to have books, but you can pack your gun. La Pepper Loca!!!

All along I kept thinking WP reminded me of someone. You hit the nail on the head. Brenda Spencer, who I went to high school w/ (and stashed hash for-- another story), shot and killed 2 people w/ the rifle her father (nutcase spawning nutcases)gave her is the inspiration for that song. THAT'S who Wendy Pepper looks like! And ACTS like!
Check out: www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/

Wendy is sort of hilarious. See the look in her eyes in this photo? She could actually devour you, if she wasn't on a strict crackers-and-water diet.

Ah, Sloguy, I've been to Middleburg and Loudoun County. There's lots of old money sitting with the fox and hound set. I doubt they buy Lolly Pepper's clothes.

Just check out Lolly Peppered, Part Deux on my blog. This woman can't design her way out of a paper bag.

Wendy is trying so hard to "fit in" with the generally younger and hipper designers its pathetic. From these hideous machine gun earrings to her Pepe LePew dye job, she is just so many shades of wrong!! Despite the effort, it's hilarious how matronly her designs are perceived.

asian spices: The DSM-IV does not specifically recognize lack of a sense of humor as a psychological condition, although it is a diagnostic criterion for stress or -- oh, you scamp!

The earrings - part of the manipulative mind-game she was playing. Seems to me she's clearly telegraphing that she'd blow the others away in a heartbeat if she could get away with it. The facial expression - "crazy" and "wierd" don't begin to do her justice. Looks like a relative of Tony Soprano.

Wouldn't you just give an entire year's pay to hear her inner monolog at that moment?

Anonymous said...

For Ms.Place - I used to be part of the fox & hound set. You'd be surprised what women buy for these events. Neiman Marcus & Saks are popular but you see lots of custom garments also. Wendy is strange but she does well. I read your blog (cute) and reconize those pix from the charity event (I was there). Half the stuff was "OMG" but there were some very nice, wearable pieces. Fashion shows aren't always pret-a-porter. Google the Dior Spring collection (Very Alice in Wonderland) and you'll see what I mean!

Is that aimed at her OWN HEAD??? :horrors:

I think a lot of Southern women do buy "novelty pieces" more than most. My grandmother, for instance, is a shining example of a modern day Scarlett O'Hara, and he has purses in all kinds of freaky shapes.

She has one in the shape of a horse's head, one in the shape of a slot machine, you get the idea. She has at least 60 of these novelty purses, and that's before we even touch her jewelry.

I think Southern are more apt to wear a "joke" as a fashion statement. The problem here is that we get a glimpse into Pepper's sense of humor.

That's the scary part.

Anonymous said...

I want to know where she found them...did she dress in all black and run into her neighborhood-friendly goth store or something, b/c I highly doubt she picked them up at Tiffany's. (I'd think Tiffany's would at least put a diamond in them...)

Anonymous said...

God, they're awfully tacky looking. They remind me of those bubble gum rings.

Anonymous said...

enough with being so nasty towards her... people are not mean for no reason... it's almost always because they have been treated badly, and are just reacting back... she is probably a very sad, hurt person... and she probably feels as justified to be mean as you guys.

Anonymous said...

To this day, I still think Vanessa was the crazier one - calling her customers in Texas names and dissing them fiercely. Getting drunk on screen and basically losing everything she worked for.

Anonymous said...

Most of the designers on this show and stylists on other shows dress so horribly. I would never trust them to do something beautiful for me. Look at how BAD Vera Wang looked during the judging - and she is one designer whose work i like. BUt her latest runway collection was terrible.

I once saw this woman on the elevator wearing earrings in the shape of freaking Christmas trees with ornaments and everything. I almost puked.

Hi Wendy!

Seriously honey, this is what we do. "They sew. We rip." We're sorry if that's not to your taste.

Secondly, she is mean for a reason. To, in her words "get people out of my way." She owned it. Many times, in fact. She's proud of her ruthlessness. Which makes her more than fair game as far as we're concerned.

Anonymous said...

Wendy knew she was going to be on national TV. Wearing rifle earrings was a calculated decision. If you knew you were going to get that kind of exposure would you not spend at least 10 minutes picking your earrings? You would even spend that much time picking out your drawers (yep, I'm from the south) knowing they would never be seen (unless you're Brit Brit trailer trash). She is most def fair game and she has the weaponry symbolism to prove it.

Are you kidding me? Wendy was never nice to anyone on the show. EVERY move was calculated and thought out. She was going to "destroy" anyone or anything that stood in her way.

Dude, that's cold. I'm very fond of those earrings!

No, seriously, I do have novelty earrings. I even wear them, occasionally. But if I were on a design show, with cameras trained on me 24/7, I'd probably put something else in my ears. But Wendy wasn't there to make friends, and nothing says "I'm not here to make friends" like tiny little guns dangling about one's person. Unless it's a t-shirt with a big skull on it. Yes.

Anonymous said...

She knew she was going to be on TV. Why pack those hideous things?

"Wendy, I have THE little black dress to wear to my holiday party. But I'm lost on the jewelry. What do I DO?"

"My lovely tommy gun earrings pair nicely with barbed wire necklace and charm bracelet set with authentic silver bullet charms. Available in the 'red, white, and trash' aisle of your local walmart."

CRA. ZY.

You know, Wendy and Vanessa look like they are up to no good, planning some dastardly deed together. Any ideas? My guess: They are sizing up the competition and trying to figure out a way to screw them up, like, for example, jamming all the sewing machines (after their own garment is done, of course). Such a "coincidence."

Kate B said...

I remember seeing Nora wearing them a lot also. I've always thought they were Nora's earrings (they seem a lot more her style) and I guess the test will be when Nora get eliminated. I somehow got it in my head that they were part of the guidance provided to Wendy by Nora and the girls that prevented her from continuing the tragic makeup and poor styling.

I think it was around the time of the reunion show, possibly during the reunion show, when I decided they were Nora's. (I kind of like them... but I like kitsch. I know I'm a minority.)

Thank you for doing Season 1, PrGayboys!
