OMG, Captain Haldol is really crazy.
LOL. I can't stop watching it.

Anonymous said...

People here in the office think I'm crazy right now. I cannot stop laughing.

Nick said...

What I love is that the other contestants are STILL laughin' at his crazy ass while watching the tape while Sgt. F&F is reliving the horrors again...and has apparently not yet gotten over it.

This is totally a "what in the fresh hell?" moment.

poor guy. got his $125... piece of clothing ruined... i'd be upset, too. this pissed off, though? no.

Anonymous said...

Ok, we're ragging so much on Vincent that I'm starting to feel sorry for him.

This man is obviously defensive because--no matter what steps he takes to maintain control of his world--others come along to upset his psychedelic apple cart.

His eccentricity makes for good television, which makes the fact that we're enjoying his discomfiture even more pathetic.

Let's find someone more worthy of cyberbullying: like Keith, who can take an insult like a man and whose verbal ripostes are deadly and accurate.

Anonymous said...

OMG! He's actually, freaking crazy. Okay, I'm not surprised. But still, that is hilarious. I can't wait till Wednesday.

Anonymous said...

Came back to add -- how awful is it that Michael and Kayne had to live with his crazy ass? I'd worry about being killed, or something.

Anonymous said...

The fact is Vincent is sitting there with this prude little look on his face while watching this video...and every single laugh or giggle around him is cutting him like a blade. And that's what makes it funnier every second.

Anonymous said...

Does Michael have braces on or am I crazy?

Bob Speck said...

I've threatened to have people deported for putting too much starch in my shirts.Ruin something?
BLOOD WILL FLOW.

I half expected him to bust out into that "They're coming to take me away ha ha hee hee ho ho" song!

Glad Mike is fixing his teeth. He is going to be a TOTAL babe now.

Anonymous said...

Wow. IMO, that is pretty out-of-control anger for ruined clothing.

I don't want to make light of mental illness, if that is even an issue. But man...I would have been a little worried about spending a month with him.

Unknown said...

bg: it's an issue.

jiminy christmas, this guy . . . i wonder what happens after they watch the video. vincent's sitting there in a very defensive posture, not amused, while his runwaymates are giggling at his discomfiture.

yikes. meds, please. and if by some miracle meds are NOT needed and he's just a jackass, someone needs to slap this boy silly.

i'm with kaynebow: he crazy.

stmkent said...

See? THIS is why we need the Project Rungay boys in our lives. They love us so much that the found the ONE clip that could make our crappy Mondays full of laughter. Y'all are muh sunshine!

(P.S.--I cannot stop watching this. Cannot. And I am laughing my ass clean off.)

wh-wh-whu-WHY though??

Embeedubya said...

Good thing they didn't put his shirts on wire hangers.

Sewhat? said...

I really, really, really wish this did not make me laugh. I like to think I have more compassion for people.

Since there hasn't been any news reports about him taking out the cast and crew with a glue gun, I guess I feel ok about laughing. Tim Gunn's Take did say he needed time to recover from the reunion show. The last shot of Vincent is really uncomfortable though. I think I will redirect my compassion towards his family...they still have to live with him, and isn't THAT a frightening thought. At least he didn't "get off" over anything, or anyone again. I guess Madame Malandrino Misplaced her invitation to the reunion show? ;-)

Phaolo said...

Time to get back on your meds, Vinny. I'm so over you. Hope you don't monopolize the reunion show.

Anonymous said...

Oh..wow. Watching that was so uncomfortable. >.< I understand being upset about something ruined, but that was just so freaking abusive towards the prodrucer.. jeez louise..

Also, can you imagine if he was there at S2 for the "clothes of your back" challenge?! HAHAH!!!

He sounds like one of those people who treats wait staff like shit if his food doesn't arrive perfect r they get the worng drink by mistake.

Freaking crazy and rude mofo.

I am torn between horrified, sad and amused.
I seriously keep bouncing between the three.
Wow.
And who doesn't feel kind of bad for his wife? I mean, can you imagine living with someone that riled up over laundry?

Anonymous said...

Good thing they didn't starch his shorts too. He'd have been at the top of some tower with a rifle!

PS

I can't wait for this reunion show.

madelineanne said...

P.S. I actually think the best part is the crew member with their mystified shrug. I mean, had it been I, I would have been running for the hills, but this guy is so mellow and just "?"

Unknown said...

First things first, I love it! I was wondering how long the producers were going to hold his meds until there was a meltdown!! At least we know, the laundry service does NOT get him off....

Anonymous said...

What's sad is I don't contribute this to his weirdness; I think he's just a cranky person (i.e. remember when they were in Paris and he bitched out Jeffrey for being loud w/ the razor?). I would be super pissed if someone ruined a whole load of expensive shirts of mine too but I wonder if there was something leading up to this to make him explode.

He seems like he needs to get laid and just chill out for a bit.

Anonymous said...

Oh my GOD, the guilt! It's like I know I shouldn't be laughing (loved the shot of Laura laughing right out loud, totally) but what other response IS there?!

And the guy at the end... I seriously thought I was going to come unglued when he just shrugged his shoulders.

I wouldn't even take money if they'd let me be a producer on that show, I'd pay them just to let me sit in editing. (That should be a prize for a viewer every week next season! Go into the city, meet Tim, walk around the work tables with him, watch the taping and then sit in editing while they splice it up.)

And guys, have they approached you about guest judging next season?

Anne

Anonymous said...

Ahh, now I understand why there was a comment (on Tim's podcast?) about the producers needing to talk Vincent into staying after his drycleaning was messed up.

It is sad. I feel bad that he lost control. Worse yet for his family. Oy vey!

Now, what other wicked video do you have up you gay hands? Please make it be about the Peanut.

Anonymous said...

that's pretty funny. i have to admit i'd be a little pissed too though.

Anonymous said...

As a mental health professional, I have some serious reservations about this video being shown for entertainment purposes. It really bothers me that people find this amusing. I can understand nervous laughter, but amusement?

FIT GRAD said...

I think it was a right-wing plot to de-stablize the dollar...wait wrong blog... but then again, I get really pissed off when someone steps on my new Pumas. Either way, the man doesn't handle stress well. I would have left my 401K intact if I were him....LOVE YOU GUYS!

Anonymous said...

maybe it was just a temporary meltdown from lack of sleep, missing his family, lack of privacy, stress......

it is rather sad that he had to sit there and watch it on the reunion show

Anonymous said...

I bet he gets his food spit in a lot.

Anne

Anonymous said...

Lighten up Katherine. Its just fashion.

Anonymous said...

i read about this somewhere, apparently they washed instead of dry cleaned 3 of his shirts and they all shrunk, the producers paid for the mistake.

Anonymous said...

He cracked me up, I enjoyed every crazy-out-there, "It get's me Off" moment of Vincent. Ewwwwwww it was sleazy sometimes when he said that, but he was so crazy I just don't think he knows what gets-me-off means , he's an odd one. Too much time in the subway contemplating his greatness perhaps, but I loved hearing him talk Craaaazxxzzy. Ha!!!

Gretchen said...

Would I be pissed off if they ruined my laundry? Oh hell yes. Would I throw a raging fit over it like that, pacing and screaming and yelling? Hopefully not.

And Katherine....sometimes you just have to laugh. I wouldn't laugh if I were Vincent's sister, but I'm not...so hey. It's either laugh or cry.

Anonymous said...

OMG that is too funny, and the "Aww...FREAK OUT!" bit is just genius, guys. LOVE IT!!!

Gigi said...

Oh, my! I just lost it when the producer just shrugged his shoulders. Where do you guys find this stuff?

Imagine if he'd made it onto the same season as Noraskippedhermeds! Wheeeeeee!

On a more somber note: what in the world am I going to do without you guys once the season is over? Sniff.

Gwen said...

That would piss me off, too, though. Imagine that you agree to sign away a lot of your freedom to be on this show, and then the producers took your clothes (which you'd normally dry clean yourself) and ruined them. It almost makes you wonder if they did it on purpose in order to provoke a flip-out worth filming.

marniecel said...

How crazy is VINCENT. Finally someone had a "NO WIRE HANGER's MOMENT!!" I love it. Kayne and Michael out on the terrace laughing at Vincent's craziness is even funnier, because I would have been laughing my arrsssssssse off too. The producer is a cutie ...OKAY!!! Hmm Ms. Thang..fierce!!

Anonymous said...

Geez, he's not a full stack of cards, is he? I mean, really, the producers bought him new shirts. He could have been nice and calm about it and not freakin flipped out on them. OMGawd. Reminds me of someone on a dry drunk bender rampage. What a weirdo.

Fnarf said...

I'm sorry, I'm on Crazy Vinnie's side here. They ruined his clothes. It's not like they didn't know, either; he left a note on them, which they (deliberately?) ignored.

You think if you were on this show you wouldn't be stressed out close to the breaking point?

"Oh, here, we washed your clothes for you (heh heh, smirk)".

Crazy Vinnie is crazy for sure, but he's being picked on and bullied here. I'm sure that never happened to, say, Kayne before.

Anonymous said...

i'm with the steve thornton commenter here, really if anything i'd love to kick laura's ass just for laughing! seriously.

Anonymous said...

If you guys would like some more insight into this epi, check out the rucker bonus footage at bravotv...rucker had just come from the apartment and had to talk Little Vinnie into staying in the competition. He had threatened to LEAVE over DRYCLEANGATE! Too funny!!

Anonymous said...

I feel so bad for him...having' to watch himself like that...

Anonymous said...

He's crazy, but I liked him. I felt sorry for him, he has no idea he's wacko. He thinks he's got it all together.

Anonymous said...

For once, I agree with Vincent. He told them AND put a note. I wanted to slap that producer in his stupid t-shirt right through the computer.

Anonymous said...

I'm with Kat. While I feel for him, but I don't get the discrepancy.

He bets all by cashing his 401K to go back to the industry after so many years, yet threatens to leave the show for 3 shrunken shirts?!? Sorry, makes no sense to me what his priorities are.

Watching the video again, I kinda get bothered by him throwing the bag and stuff around.. He could have argued without being so abusive and impulsive.

I'm sure Bravo would have paid for the shirts anyway. Shit happens and we all have to deal with. How old is he? He's acting like teenager having a tantrum.

OASN: I have the hint that he left the fashion industry before, because of his mental health... It was probably too much for him to cope with..

OASN2: It seems like he's offending Michael on the reunion, for what I can see on the preview... Then Robert comes to Michael's defense... I dunno..let's see...

Anonymous said...

Jeez! Can you imagine if they had used bleach and/or fabric softener too? He would have killed somebody! If he didn't want the damn shirt laundered, he shouldn't have left it for the producers to launder, or left a note saying "Dry Clean Only!!" What a maniac!

Anonymous said...

You can see from some of his interviews, though, that he thinks he got a very unfair shake by being portrayed as crazy on the show. Because he's not. In real life, that is. Crazy. (Suuuurrre.)

I think *that's* what was getting him looking so 'what's up my ass now' on the reunion show - not that he was embarassed, or that he was pissed that the others were laughing. I got the impression that he thought he was being edited into being crazy again.

It's not that I don't feel bad for him, but geez. He should have just painted a target on his back and been done with it, as act like such a nut case!

Anne

Gigi said...

I don't think anyone is making light of the fact that Vincent's shirts were ruined. I think any one of us would be upset but not many people would go completely ape-shit over it. His response was completely irrational.

Who read the recent interview with Vincent where he said he didn't know where people got the idea that he cashed in his 401K just to be on the show? Um, maybe because you said it 50,000 times?

Wednesday will be a real lulu, a 3-martini night!

Gorgeous Things said...

Wow, wow, WOW!
I'm speechless. Those poor producers. Lesson learned to future PRun contestants - don't piss off the producers. It WILL come back to haunt you!

Anonymous said...

I would act the same way.

Anonymous said...

how does "don't fluff and fold" translate into "dry clean only?"

is this some yankee thing? do y'all know that "fluff and fold" means laundry and you have, like, some other yankee phrase for dry cleaning?

hep me out here, all y'all yankees . . . am i not understanding the lingo? maybe the guys who picked up the clothes were southerners too . . . we mostly don't know "fluff and fold," since we hang our clothes out on a clothes line after beating them clean on rocks down at the river . . .

Anonymous said...

I am no fan of Vincent or his freaky behavior and think he should have been auf'ed way sooner than he was.

HOWEVER, I don't blame him a bit for getting pissed about his shirts, especially if he did indeed take precautions to make sure they didn't get ruined. I think his reaction is fairly appropriate considering, and would expect whoever Runway used for the laundry service to reimburse him for the shirts.

dorei said...

Should be interesting to watch the other vingettes of the other contestants having meltdowns. I'm sure even Michael had some moments. You can't spend that long a period of time cooped up in a strange place, away from your family/support systems, and not get a little cracked.

I wasn't a fan of Vincent's by any stretch of the imagination, but I feel kinda bad for him, watching this.

Dearest madelineanne,

I liked your posts, as they help tell the story of different views on things.
I think the shrug was more 'whatever' than mystification. Did you hear Vincent say to the producer "it's not funny!"? So the producer was standing in front of Vincent, laughing?
Yeah, of course. You see, when an average guy gets into a spastic episode around one or more similarly situated average guys, the percieved danger level drops to minimal. The producer and the crew guy couldn't feel safer, because they can see the spaz coming. In this world, where any given average guy can *take* any other average guy, fellas need an edge. And so, weapons notwithstanding, that edge is usually "getting the jump on" another. So if anything, being spastic is a liability to an average dude with some experience. The spastic dudes who always follow their episodes with actual violence don't last too long; fellas see them coming easily and are ready.
Worse yet, and I hate to admit this, but I've been in situations where some guy gets all worked up like that and the rest of us end up taking sport in fueling the rant further (alcohol was an ingredient in those times, as you can imagine). One more thing: beating up the air and a laundry bag takes energy as well, so the longer that goes on, the less and less another average guy has to fear.

The guy who may be slighted bigtime but appears calm and bemused all out of proportion to the situation is the one to watch. For us.

For you, for women in general I guess, any sign of danger from any guy is justified cause for alarm. Your calculations are not the same as ours as this stuff goes, so your "run for the hills" comment is nothing I'd argue.

kora in hell said...

The video IS funny. Sometimes crazy people are funny. And your best defense in coping with them is a sense of humor. It is sad that Vincent can't laugh at himself. It is even sadder that he does not seem to be getting proper treatment for his mental illness. However, this seems a little late in the game to start questioning whether we should be laughing at Vincent. How ethical is it in the first place to cast someone who is mentally ill and manipulate the judging so that he stays on the show for the purposes of entertainment? Maybe this is one the reasons why people really wanted to see him auffed. In the end watching him was more disturbing than amusing. (That said, this hissy fit is just damned funny.)

Anonymous said...

For everybody who is empathizing with Vincent, know that Michael Rucker (the producer who he is berating) offered to compensate Vincent for the shirts. Was at the apartment till 2:00 am.

I'm sorry, but this guy is just out of control...

Liz said...

Hi-lar-i-ous!

What astounds me is that this guy KNOWS they are filming his rant and yet he can't seem to find the mute button. I will admit to getting overly riled up about stupid stuff now and again, but I'd like to think that I'd have the presence of mind to not launch into a tizzy over my laundry.

Anonymous said...

I absolutely cannot wait until Wednesday since Tim, in his podcast not only called it a lu lu but said he needed to "put some distance" between himself and that episode. Makes me think Vinny boy had a meltdown after watching the clip. I mean look at his expression!

kora in hell said...

ps re bungle -- I agree that Vincent seems physically harmless. Mainly he appears to just be a huge pain in the ass. But I also think that Vincent has some "issues" when it comes to women. One incident that raised a red flag (and there were a number) was when he said that Catherine Malandrino was "too old" for him. On one had it is just another one of his pathetic delusional statements. On the other hand, you can't hit a more vulnerable place than that when it comes to middle-aged women who work in the fashion industry. This suggested, to me, that he knows how to be vicious -- at least when it comes to women. It may not be physical but it is still a little scary.

(But again. In this video, Vincent is just so sad he's funny.)

Anonymous said...

Okay, I am NO fan of Vincents. I had wanted him aufed decades ago (it seems).

However, it is unfair that everyone says he is crazy. He has a weird way of looking at things, he gets auf, he's a legend in his own mind, he has a bad temper -- that makes him unpredictable, weird - yes. Crazy -- not necessarily.

Crazy for me is someone that has voices in their head is psycopathic or sociopathic (think Jeffrey). Vincent may be batty as all get out but I don't think that necessarily makes him crazy.

I don't know what his ethnic background is but in some cultures, lots of yelling, ranting and raving is just a normal day.

Anonymous said...

I'd say with almost 100% certainty that Libretti is Italian. He's also a native NY'er, who tend to be a bit more vociferous than just about everyone else not in Joisey. :-)

Then what do I know? I'm a laid back Uli Hippie Californian getting vasted with the cabana boy.

kora in hell said...

Sorry to keep writing but since I am one of the people who thinks V is mentally ill:

Anon: you make a very good point about cultural differences and the way we perceive and judge emotional expression. But not being able to control one's anger can't be passed off as a cultural characteristic. Having a certain level of civility is just part of being an adult. This does, however, remind me of a great line from Mystery Science Theater: "emotions are for ethnic people."

Oh my....... he is ranting, raving and acting like a looney tune because his shirts were 'fluffed and folded.' How does that ruin a shirt? Sounds like he wanted the wire hangers instead of the fluff and fold. I didn't notice him wearing anything during the show that appeared to be at all costly ($125 f...... shirts?). His entire wardward could have come from Wally Mart. Oh ha, sounds like he was trying to extort payment for the 'finger in his chili.'
Pity his family who lives with this whack job.

Vincent is just neurotic to the nth degree and he is pretty much cut from the same material as ALOT of new yorkers I know, particularly in the creative fields - but could be bankers too.

What makes it hard to feel bad for him, take for example his interview after being auf'd. According to him, he was the only real designer there, he is getting his startup funding blah blah, Alexander McQueen came up to him on the street and told him he got what he does. And then when he came back to the show, again he ended up by saying he was just a truly inspiring person! To himself!

He's going to do fine. Just fine. And probably better than Keith who already keeps the expression of someone with a long stick up his

In Michael Ruckers video blog, you find out that this incident happend right before the cast flew to Paris. He threatened quitting the show over this. He was that serious.

This whole show is going to be an uncomfortable exercise.

So, if this is the way Vincent behaves off-camera, I have 2 questions:

1. How bad is Jeffrey REALLY, if they put so many of his fits into the actual show?

2. Why did everyone jump all over Angela for not being able to deal with him (Vincent)??

bungle said...

Aww trixie_b, I don't wanna say Vincent is physically harmless, 'cause that's just so much macho-crap grandstanding. He's average just like the vast majority of the rest of us. What diminishes his threat level is that we see him coming, and no average dude can overcome that sort of liability.
And that was in response to Maddy, whose reaction to Vincent's meltdown was one of "Danger!"... one not shared by the dudes on the vid nor I.
As for your observation about Vincent's misogynistic comments, I missed that. I just remember the part on the boat where he was trying to ingratiate himself with C. Malandrino. I kinda figured he's o.k. mainly because of stuff like his immediate response to Jia's accident.
One of the things that has me so hooked on PR is the way the designers can be understood by what is actually shown on the runway. Is this all a smoke and mirrors act or is Laura's character somewhere in those dresses? If Vincent is a misogynist, is that apparent in his collection?

Good questions. I'm not so much into the drama/politics side, but it is interesting. I have guesses:

guess1: All I've seen is the show, so one has to go by the reactions of designers et al to Jeffery. It appears Uli really likes him, Allison does, Kayne, Robert, Marilinda...
Is Jeffery an Ass? Uh, Deb, you could throw ANY guy's name up on the web, ask if he's an ass, I won't have even met him, and the answer would still be an emphatic YES! Welcome to Men 101. It is a lifelong struggle for us to overcome that problem. Many never do. Centuries ago we commissioned a study to determine what can be done about our Assinine Selves. The study, the short name of which is "Ethics", has a report due out sometime before the Sun implodes but is as yet woefully incomplete.
Primitive, really.

guess2: Listen to Tim's Podcast about the Angela/Vincent episode.
I think she annoyed Kayne just before she and Vincent ended up working... together/apart, and everyone caught wind of that too.

I'm sure others have better answers, just thought I'd take a shot!

I can see the logic there. In fact I've been told I'm more that sort. Quiet until the moment of danger (it usually only happens when someone threatens someone I care about) so I can see where it might seem that the guy who is big on bluster might be less of a real threat.

All that aside though, if I had been alone in the room and on the reciving of that laundry induced wrath (or any similar level of wrath) I still probably would have withdrawn or called in reinforcements.

in response to those who have suggested that vincent's behavior may be because he is from new york, i can assure you - as a native, life-long new york city girl - acting like a raving lunatic, tantrum-throwing baby is NOT a "cultural" thing. real new yorkers (who are sane) do not behave like that. most people you see acting like jackasses here, arent actually from here. no one i know would ever behave that way, or treat others so poorly.

frankly, vincent is just a jackass. he could be from mainstreet, USA and hed still act like a jackass. it is who he is.

in this case, he acted like a diva and got called out for it - plain and simple. i dont feel sorry for him one bit. i only hope that the next clip in the broadcast is of him apologizing profusely to the producers for his behavior. theres no excuse for a grown man to act like that. its a friggin shirt, for christs sake! youd have thought they slaughtered a puppy and left it in his bed...

Ok. I've figured out Vincent's Miss USA Dress. Tonight hubby and I were watching the Futurama "Flight to Remember" episode. The one that is a rip on Starship Titanic.

And I kid you not, the dress that Leela is wearing at the end is virtually identical to Vincent's Miss USA gown. The same color, the same little deelies on the shoulders, and almost the same cut.

Here is a link to one of the images from that show. I'm breaking the url in half so it won't get lost.

Okay, this is some hot mess, y'all. Let's get a few things straight:

1) Vincent went, as my dear Gram used to say, "out of his rabbit ass mind" over a few shirts. Surely, he had some idea that if something was screwed up, the producers would fix it. After all, the contestants are being locked away from the rest of the world for weeks at a time--the least they can do is give Mr. "Mad Lib" some new shirts. And they did. And ol' dude was STILL ranting.

2) Let's not forget: this is a competition, not unlike a long-ass job interview. He, and the rest of the PR folks, are there to impress--in every way possible. The next time your paycheck is missing hours, or someone takes your red Swingline stapler from your cubicle, go on and pull a Vincent. Let's see how well that goes over.

3) Finally--this is not the only time Mad Lib has lost it--just the worst time. And, instead of expressing concern for their fellow PR contestant...every other contestant laughed their asses off. I honestly don't think this was a matter of mean-spirited ridicule; I think everyone had suffered through living and working with his goofy ass, and they were happy that the rest of the country would get to see how nutty he is.

So, for everyone scolding us for laughing--get over it. If you'd done half of the things Mad Lib did at work, you'd get the pointing and laughing treatment, too, damn it.

You've got a point, RobertDC, but the PR boys chose to put this wildly popular video on their blog. So, that's an action.

Look, Vincent makes for great t.v. No question about it. But in that video he is unable to control himself, and we glimpse a raw, unprotected side of him. He had made every effort to protect that expensive shirt, and his instructions were ignored.

I love the PR guys and visit this blog every morning because I admire their wit. They usually make me laugh. But I cringed when I saw Vincent's distress and people's rather cruel reaction to it. This feels like we're kicking a crazed puppy.

Oh please. This "wildly popular video" is a preview for an upcoming show. This is a fanblog for that show. It's perfectly reasonable and normal for them to put this up. If you have a problem with it, take it out on Bravo. They're the ones who shot, edited and ultimately, will air it.

After reading all the comments, I feel compelled to post something. Someone brought up earlier in the thread that Vincent must see the cameras and thus know that he is being filmed, and yet, he doesn't stop. To me, that screams of someone showboating and acting as if they and they alone are the only important thing around. (Anyone know if Vincent was an only child, perhaps?)
Also, if he was so concerned about the shirts, why not go and speak to the producers and explicitly tell them, "Hey, I have some shirts which need to be drycleaned, as they are quite expensive", as any other person might do. No, he leaves a note. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but there's so much chance that the note could be lost in the shuffle. It's just logic... Vincent irks me in every way possible - he's a sleaze, he thinks that he's still better than the designers who managed to outlast him, and he tried to arrange a tryst with a couple of much younger models, when he later talked about how his daughter was so proud of him. Ugh. Ass. Anyway, Vincent needed to take more personal responsibility for his shirts than just a note - be proactive about it and don't just expect the producers to do this shit for you - they're not your bitch.

When I read Rucker's blog about Vicent and his shirts, I thought that Rucker had to be exaggerating - no one in their right mind would quit this show over a few ruined shirts.

Now that I have seen the rant, RUcker clearly undersold it. My apologies to Rucker.

But I was right about "no one in their right mind would quit this show over a few ruined shirts."

who in their right mind would put a $125 shirt in a plastic garbage bag in the first place. i agree with you GIGI definately a 3 martini night. pass the olives pleeze.

I'm with Steve and Gwen on this - the designers are limited to the clothing they bring with them - he brought good quality clothes which would stand up to the long days/discomfiture of filming, and they were ruined. I'd be pissed. This confrontational? I doubt it, but who knows what had come before this bit?

Warning: I'm risking East Coast wrath on this next statement: In many ways, Vincent embodies that weird mix of the quintessential volatile New Yorker - funny and warm one minute, demanding, loud and rude the next.

I feel kind of sorry for him.

Look, there but for the grace of God go I too. Big-time.

Which is why if I got on PR, I would TAKE MY MEDS. It's just not that complicated.

I've watched this show from the very beginning, and everybody who's ever had a tantrum has had it blown up to larger than life by the producers. This isn't a first!

The whole "poor Vincent" crew chaps my ass because they act like this guy has no control over his actions. Before he was selected, he had to evaluate the situation and see if, even on his meds, he could handle it. Then once he got there, he had to take his meds.

To me, the suggestion that he's a poor deranged guy being manipulated by the producers for our amusement just smacks of infantalizing the guy. If they were withholding his meds, I'd be screaming louder than anyone.

From the very beginning, something about Vinnie just hasn't rung true.

1st, there was his use of his 401k. Not that I'm an expert, I do have some experience here, having "retired", due to health reasons, over a decade ago, after contributing to my fund for about 10 years. Since then, I've dipped into my 401k (now IRA) a number of times for a variety of reasons (bills, medical expenses, and yes, a number of tours abroad). Heaven forbid I should lose my disability income, I could survive well over a year - including making mortgage payments. He needed all of his 401k for what? 6 weeks as a contestant? This after 20 years in business? Either his lifestyle is very extravagant or his 401k was smaller than most paper boys' savings accounts. Seems to me he was playing the sympathy card. I have no more sympathy for him than I expect from anyone for the choices I've made.

2nd, let me see if I got this straight: after "sacrificing" his 401k, he's going to walk away for the show cuz a couple shirts were laundered improperly? He's either an utter loon or he was just grandstanding, trying to parlay an innocent mistake into some sort of advantage. Too bad he didn't channel all of this energy into his designs.

Yes, Vinnie, you're making music all right. The problem is, no one's buying your cd's.

And anyway, frankly I can't get past "the subtle press-down."

Rucker said in his blog that Bravo offered to pay Vincent for the shirts. Vincent still threatened to leave the show, and Rucker had to talk him out of it (????).
I mean, really, what else is there to say about it?

As weird as Vincent could be, I actually liked the guy. He was basically "a harmless Nut" as my mother used to say. He likes his things a certain way, like Joan Crawford's closet, in Mommie Dearest, that's okay. I went off at the dry cleaners once when they told me a dress wasn't ready yet, I had to go back on Monday and I could have sworn..one of those b#tchs working there wore my dress to an event over the weekend(it was new when it went in,but worn looking upon return)...I pitched a fit. Anyway I can understand Vincent liking his shirts a certain way. He's a harmless nut, he's unaware of his crazzzzziness. Some of us will miss Vincent's funny nuttiness.

Great clip, and Laura in red? Fabulous. Since Laura loves Auntie Mame so much (cited as a favorite movie,) I'll return with a quote from the novel, "YOU have to wear red. You can't let it wear you." Laura can definitely work red.

I always liked that Heidi Klum was soft hearted and sweet with Vincent, no matter how crazy he acted. No matter how self-deluded or eccentric he got, Heidi seemed to put her arms around him with her words. I think she is used to dealing with people who approach her in their weirdness, and she really showed compassion concerning Vincent. I think on some level she "got him" and early on figured out how to handle delicate crazy Vincent. I liked that.

Please just ask yourself this- if the producers had wrecked say Michael or Roberts's shirts how would you feel?

Ruining someone stuff is very disrespectful and I can think of lots of friends who have had screamers with family or room mates over it. The first time I ever said "Fuck" in front of my mother was when someone (some family member!!) shrank a sweater of mine. I flipped.

That producer standing there shrugging is a passive agressive asshole.

This says more about the worst of of Reality TV not Vincent

to "Jersey" -- Vincent is not an only child since his sister was on the "mother and sister" challenge episode, remember?

And for the person who posted: "Ruining someone stuff is very disrespectful and I can think of lots of friends who have had screamers with family or room mates over it. The first time I ever said "Fuck" in front of my mother was when someone (some family member!!) shrank a sweater of mine. I flipped."

The difference is you or they were not on camera. I don't think anyone here disagrees with his right to be upset, but there is a *proper* way in which adults should deal with being upset or with a specific incident, and flipping out/screaming/yelling and basically having an infantile tantrum on some producer for a long period of time is not right. Period.

Vincent not representative of New York?! They construct whole movies from his particular kind of neurotic! His accent and demeanor are straight out of Woody Allen casting.

Although he sounds like he could do that song from West Side Story, what was it, Officer Krupke or something?

Compared to Malan, Allison, LAURA and the others, his is the most clear accent on Project Runway, SO easy to locate.

Just playback his telling Laura to "shove your Harry Winstons up your nose" - could be from any bad B-movie on the streets of NYC.

And his interview made it clear, he's a creep from NYC. He and Jeffrey (the happy father) in Paris trying to arrange that tryst in their hotel rooms with the models, etc. Creepy.

And in the end, the only one to actually try and dismiss Tim Gunn. Fool.

sweetie, no one held a gun to his head and forced vincent to avail himself of the opportunity which was project runway. the cameras aren't exposing him: he, if you'll pardon the expression, is exposing himself, and, in return, he's got a modicum of the fame he so obviously covets, as well as financial remuneration and chances to network and make something of himself that he'd otherwise have never had. he didn't sign over "some" of his time for those perqs: he signed over ALL of his time -- including those moments in which he exercises no self-restraint.

he's behaving like an absolute ASS in this clip. a few shirts have been ruined. he's already been told he'll be compensated for them -- and even if he's too upset for that to have registered with him, didn't anyone ever teach him appropriate behavior? just because his mama indulged his tantrums doesn't mean a nation has to. and if he's truly psychotic, then, dammit, he's old enough to know he needs help and to get the help he needs, and if he hasn't and/or doesn't, that choice is on him, too. as a mental health PATIENT, a card-carrying psychotic bitch whose lived with raging bipolar disorder long enough to remember my first diagnosis as a "manic depressive," i know that i've got a certain crazy charm, but that i need to take my meds in order to function within the accepted parameters of the everyday world. i share it with normal people, and i have a responsibility to them, afterall. so does vincent, whether he's truly unbalanced or just an unmitigated asshole.

i say ... behave badly and see it televised: don't blame the television. this shit is funny.

lynette, as far as this transplanted Yankee is concerned, the words "fluff and fold" may only be used properly on the set of a porno film. The saying of which, I'm sure, would get Vincent off.

Vincent did have many of the qualities of some of the guys I knew in NYCity but so did Laura in some ways embody a certain type of New Yawker. People live in their cramp apartments(not Laura perhaps)when they are struggling and develop certain traits, and pecularities or rather certain ways of doing things. Vincent reminds me of a Multi-Millionaire I used to date in NY, self-deluded,very demanding, very weird, very eccentric, nice sometimes, happy with a touch of sleeziod under the surface but almost normal looking in some ways if you didn't have a sharp eye.

The best sound bites on this clip were his howling the word "Ruoooon'd!!" and the "wh-wy-why-whyyyyy?" A dialogue coach couldn't be more pleased! And GAWD I can't stand that man! someone please lock him in a room and make him listen to every blog written about his arrogant, creepy, dishonest, gratingly hideous, delusional, lying sick self!!! can't watch repeats of this season due to his presence--- and would love to see what that shirt looked like before and after,,,,

The "Whuh-whuh-why-wyyyy?" whine at the very end killed me. Killed me dead.

I don't think Vincent is insane. However, everything I've seen so far tells me he's extremely neurotic, and maybe even a bit bipolar.

I can understand his frustration at seeing his shirts ruined, but his tantrum was just over-the-top. And threatening to leave the show over it? The dude has no sense of perspective at all, and this clinches it. Chucking away the kind of publicity no money could ever buy over a few hundred dollars' worth of ruined shirts makes him look even less stable thand he already does.

Project Runway can be a great way for designers to get attention, but as an earlier commenter remarked it really is like an extended job interview, and it can backfire horribly if you screw it up (see: Wendy Pepper). Despite the stress and exhaustion you still have to remain aware of how you are presenting yourself, and Vincent seems to have very little awareness of how he appears. He wants to get back into fashion in a big way, but he's made a bad--and lasting--impression at the "job interview."
