Nazri's ELLE ad for TRESemmé is out!
Tuesday, September 26, 2006 by Author
Our girl's looking FIERCE! Michael looks cute, too.
This isn't the whole ad, by the way. Wouldn't want the bitches at ELLE getting mad at us and sticking pins in little PRGayBoy dolls, would you? The spread is actually a couple pages long with smaller pics of some of the other models, like Amanda and Clarissa. Buy Elle to see the whole thing! Otherwise, they're siccing Nina on us and NO ONE wants that!
We're assuming they re-styled her hair for the shoot and we might be misremembering, but we don't recall her hair looking quite so "Good Ship Lollipop" in the episode. Besides, to us, Nathaniel will always be the guy who made Alison's model look like Daisy Duck.

Good Ship Lollipop! Love you boys!
"Good Ship Lollipop"
LOL. You two bitches are going to burn in hell. LOL
Awesome! Thanks, guys. Michael has the cutest smile.
She definitely looked better on the show. More 'fro, less 'pop.
Thanks, guys! Thought I was gonna have to actually buy a fashion magazine just to see it! Just hope it helps bring back the big, bouncy Angela Davis afro! (Google Images Angela, in case you don't remember the good old days of Black Power.)
I liked her messy fro on the show. It looks awful all styled.
I saw that ad when I picked up Elle early this week.
Definitely not Pam Grier curls. I loved the look on the runway.
When the PRGayboys wrote up the "KOO KOO CA CHOO" post about Laura Bennett, they penned something I'll just never forget: (about how Laura looked in her jet-setter outfit on the runway) "Thats a level of hotness that doesn't even require verbs. Just walk up to her and go "Girl! Fierce!" and then snap once, jerk your head around and sashay away."
If I remember the comments section from that post right, that line had everyone going. Classic. And it points to a sense of action style that does bring about a more interesting world. Why do I say this? Well, the post is mainly about Michael Knight who, if the judging is any judge, should win the whole enchilada.
If I were to meet M. Knight I "would just walk up to him, shake his hand and say 'dude, you're the man', give a nod, and walk away". Such is what to expect, hetero to hetero. Kind of on the boring side when compared with the PRGuys Manual of Style above. Which leads me to think that the word 'panache' was invented by 'mos to be used in describing 'mos.
The lesson to be learned here of course is that yes, M. Knight, you are the man.
Nazri if FIERCE defined.
I still can't understand why Alison put that stupid f*&^ing bow on her head....Fashion Suicide.
Notice her expression? It's that "I'm smiling to be nice though I hate my hair" look just before you pimp slap the hairdresser. Someone got worried the red states couldn't handle the "AF" in Nazri's AFRO so it was toned down.
As for Michael K-- He has every morsel of "IT".
Props & Salutations to the PRGay Boys!
What a contrast between the two pictures! Nazri and Michael look spectacular together -- the girl looks fierce, indeed, and our man's got it going on! But in the other one with Nathaniel, the two of them are staring at us with the cold, dead eyes of stoned zombies. Nathaniel in particular gives me the heebie-jeebies.
"Good Ship Lollipop"
ROFL. I hate the way he styled Nazri's hair. It's doesn't look natural at all.
I completely agree about the hair. I thought she looked so great on the show and when I first saw the picture from the shoot I just thought, "WTF?!"
Why would you want to "update" a 'fro? It's timeless and doesn't need to be changed. I understand they're trying to sell hair products, but still. What were they thinking?
how in the world did they manage to ruin nazri's perfect hair?? in an ad for hair products, no less!!!
this just proves that tresemme products suck! (and they smell like skunk, too!)
Good ship lollipop is perfect! He gave her white girl hair! And there's not a single picture where you can see the whole outfit. And they've got 2 pix of Angela's outfits in there including the one that made her model CRY! WTF?
Sorry, just had to vent. Love your blog, etc.
They also did a bang up job of "erasing" Nazris bags under her eyes. Girlfriend looked like she was doing waaaaaay too much partying lately.'
Isn't that the wig Jan wore on the Brady Bunch?
I could be wrong...
Poor Nazri looks air brushed to within an inch of her life, and that's just so unnecessary. She looked much better on the show.
All joking aside, Nazri does look lovely. Great photos!
I agree, she looks fabulous. She is one of the best models of Season 3.
BTW, has she ever smiled on camera?
Rushing out to pick up my Elle so I can see Nazri's wig up close and personal. GO MICHAEL!
(one more day...:D )
I agree, she looks fabulous in the first picture, and way too photoshopped in the second one.
I still think it's great exposure for both of them.
Here is the picture of Nazri the Boyz posted to this blog: http://projectrungay.blogspot.com/2006_08_06_archive.html
Agree -- her hair looked 100x better than it does in the photo shoot.
Now I have to run out and buy my magazine!
I love Nazri. I do think that they gave her sleeker more defined curls, to get over in the red states too. She's a beautiful girl, with gorgeous legs. She and Maralinda(Jeffrey's model) were two awesome women, I hope they get a lot contracts out of the show.
Whoever said that is Jan's wig from the Brady Bunch is hilarious. I cracked up laughing!!!!
Ewww! White girl curls! got that right!
"good ship lollipop" nails it. i HATE what they did to her hair.
Well, if Tresemme is interested in appeasing the red states by downplaying the ethnicity of their models, then I'm not buying their products! (Okay, in the interest of full disclosure they smell like ass so I don't buy them anyway, but if I did I would totally stop.)

Hey Guys! Fabulous site. Love it!
So, speaking of Nina going after you, I had this weird dream a few nights ago, where I was telling Nina all about what you guys posted in the "Nina: Aesthetically Pleasing" post. I was all like, Aren't those guys funny? but she had the devil in her eye. Unamused was she. Then later in dream time, a guy (I think Tim, but not sure) told me that Nina was going to sue you guys for $1 Million! I felt awful! So hope I didn't predict your financial ruin, and if I did, please don't hate me.
Cheers,
Michael
Nazri's hair on the show? Great. THAT hair? Hmm... Nathaniel's taste level is just not there.
Nathaniel Hawkins, you’ve stretched yourself, but I think we all have serious questions about your taste level.
OK, one question I had has been resolved.
Remember the INC team challenge? The team led by Bonnie, featuring Uli and Bradley, had the losing entry. Nina hated the combination of brown pants and... everything else. Something about the collar... it really seemed to piss her off.
And yet I thought, "yeah, but...", though I couldn't put finger on exactly why the outfit wasn't hate worthy. Just something. In any case I'm not about to argue with the results because I'm just plain not qualified. I just couldn't accept that it was all *that* bad.
I watched a rerun of the episode again. Now I understand what I saw before. I saw Nazri. She was shining thru the damn thing.
If she was walking the runway with this ad hair...it wouldn't move/bounce at all.
Sad, and yeah I question Nathaniel's "taste level"
Maybe the producers had something to do with this. Seems they are the ones ruining the show :)

In the past I have been content to read everyone's comments without replying. I can no longer remain silent on all the posts that refer to red states, or those from the Midwest. I do live in a red state in the midwest---and I live in a trailer. My husband and I are both well educated professionals who are here to attend to sick family. We never miss an episode of PR and love reading the blogs. We refused to do business with a pharmacy in our area who openly makes fun of gay people. My husband also lost his job in law enforcement because he expressed his concerns about the treatment of gay citizens to management. Please don't categorize people from the midwest. Not all of us are uneducated bigots. Fight the fight but don't profile the enemy. Love you all.
I noticed the nice crisp hairdo for that shoot right away, at the end of the first showing of the episode. Took away a lot of the impact to be so "tressed," but I guess they didn't ask me (or our PRGays!), did they?

Dearest dena cox:
I understand your dismay for being catagorized unfairly. But by your very kind and eloquent note, why would you think anyone would charactorize you as uneducated or bigoted when you're obviously not? Though as you yourself pointed out, those uneducated, bigoted people you and your husband have railed against do exist in your area. Admittedly they exist in all areas of the United States unfortunately; yet considering how many of the citizens in that part of the country are responsible for electing George Bush and his policies, the prevalent philosphical/ideological leanings (against gay marriage, affirmative action, stem cell research, et al) of the area are well documented. That's not profiling, that's identifying substantiated, statistical facts. Pax.
That was the fro' before Nathaniel teased it out.
