Preview, Kittens!

This is it, darlings! This is what we've all been waiting for!

Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait a little longer because these videos aren't going to reveal anything we don't already know. Christian says "fierce," Jillian is overwhelmed, and Rami says something snotty about the model choices.

Well, that was a whole lotta nothing. Not that wild horses could keep me away . . .

I agree with Jeff, very dark. Then again, Bravo manages to make every first reveal of a garment on the runway, in front of the banner logo, look really dark and flat, too. Since we get mere seconds to view a garment, those seconds should be illuminated! This poor lighting problem should be addressed in future seasons.

As to this season.... for a whole host of reasons, I'm not particularly jazzed about tomorrow night. And how are Sweet P's and Chris March's showings at Bryant Park explained? Or aren't they?

All the best, albeit dispiritedly,

NDC

No Jeff, they looked dark to me too! I thought it was my computer crapping out!

Thanks guys for the preview!
I can't wait till tomorrow!!

Yup, they are dark for some reason. We changed the first one (a little better now). We'll see what we can do about the second one.

I know nothing about models.
Are the models sent for this show different from other models, for say, a designer with a following?

It's so weird that we all know there were 5 collections shown but they're going to pretend as if 2 didn't exist. I wish they'd figure out a way not to do this. Everybody who shows should be eligible to win. This double decoy business is just silly.

I don't have a personal favorite in the race now that Chris is out, but I'm guessing that Jillian's collection gives her the win. Rami's is too Rami, and Christian's is too ruffle-up-agus. I also hope that Posh Spice doesn't overly influence the results. She's no Fern Mallis, that's for sure.

RUFFLEUPAGUS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

where was that nickname six weeks ago?

Ruffleupagus. hee! i am going to find a way to use that in my daily vocabulary (shouldn't be too hard - ruffles seem to be in, and i don't do ruffles. so "that shirt is WAY too Ruffleupagus!")

Poor baby Christian seems to be in tears in the last preview clip - models not arriving on time? Those girls seem to cause no end of trouble for their designers......

Actually I just read that Jay McCarroll, Chloe Dao and Jeffrey Sebelia (now that Sweet P is out) all picked Rami for the win tomorrow. They were at the Bryant Park show here in NYC when it happened. Crazy all 3 of the previous winners!

I can't wait either!

So, where are you guys going to be tomorrow, humm?

Tell!

We'll be looking for T.Lo in the crowd, too!

Can't wait until tomorrow! I'll be in front of my roommate's giant TV, with an equally giant glass of champagne. Woohoo!!

As this event was three weeks ago (or more), the finale seems pretty anticlimactic. I almost don't care anymore since Chris is out.

Go...Jillian.

Dear Lord, we beseech thee -- May this Finale edit let us see the garments in their magnificent splendor and detail.

(Not like all those other times. O-ther times.)

Amen.

I don't understand why -- since the actual competition is held way in advance of Fashion Week -- Bravo doesn't coordinate its schedule to time it to the show.

Imagine how much more exciting it would be to see the collections on a Friday, then hear the results the following Wednesday.

That said, you've made the interim as fun as can be, TLo! Thanks!

Hope Laurie

I can't wait!!! Boys, say 'hi' to Chris and tell him that we love him :)

CHRISTIAN HAS IT ALL THE WAY!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Yes, Rami can be a snot, but the model he was talking about WAS tragic.

Christian crying? He must be really stressed. Crying is so not fierce.

Christian or Jillian could win and I'd be happy. After seeing Christian's tiny little living space, it seems like he needs the money more, so I'm rooting for him. As long as Rami doesn't win, with his extremely boring and Dorothy Zbornak collection, that's cool. Then again, I said essentially the same thing last season and we still got Jeffrey (substitute Siouxie Sioux for Dorothy).

Really? I find that hard to believe.

Oh, don't let me forget to set the VCR - I'm going to the theatre tomorrow night! Not good planning.

I don't care what ANYONE says, Chris March's collection was brilliant and beautiful and the hair was NOT creepy.

I would wear ANY of those outfits in a heartbeat.

That collection belongs at Bergdorf's.

omg! i can't bear this anxiety!! lol. wonder what's going to happen?!?! none of those videos revealed a lot at all but then if they did, there won't be much of a thrill!

mimi said...

Oh - if only I could be with you guys and watch this extravaganza -- That would make it so much MORE fun -- The only thing that would make it better would be Jay Carroll and a big bottle of wine. I will be anxiously waiting for your blog. You two have been a big part of making this a wonderful season as well as well as Christian, Chris, Tim and Heidi.

Ropa vieja! Que bueno! And how appropriate.

Boy have I missed this blog - 4 days of retail madness working for a friend at a big sewing show in Washington state.

Sorry to digress, but re Chris's safety pin dress, for those of you who have access to the Costume Institute of the Metro Museum of Art, ask to see the Mark Mahall Satety-Pin Jacket (1978). Others who are interested can check out Mark Mahall in "Art to Wear" by Julie Schafler Dale. It is an awesome garment.

Sorry for the lateness of this remark and its off topic reference, but I beg mercy - 10 hour days and thousands of booth wanderers left me in need of a fashion fix from this terrific blog.

Rami? Snotty? I'm shocked!!

I forgot it was tonight. I have totally lost interest since Chris was robbed. I will not be watching. I will be doing something worthwhile, like clipping my dog's toenails, or looking for dust bunnies under my armoire.

Have fun!

There needs to be a fabu cocktail made just for the PR Finale. Something called a Flaming Flamingo or something totally outrageous. (If there already is an FF, I apologize).

I'm up for the task. I did not invent these cocktails, but I think they would be appropriate depending on who you are rooting for. I would also suggest that they be made with PR rum to further the theme and pleasure.

First up, for those that favor Jillian, Long Island Ice Tea (What else?):
Equal parts PR Rum,Vodka, Gin, Tequila, and Triple Sec, 1-1/2 parts lemon jucie and a splash of cola. Serve in a tall ice tea glass.

For those who favor Rami,
Between the Sheets (I wish):
1oz dark PR Rum,1/2 oz Brandy, 1/2 oz Triple Sec, and the juice of 1/2 a lemon. Mix ingredients in a shaker with cracked ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Ooo I just got goosebumps.

For those who favor Christain,
Little Princess Cocktail( No kidding);
1-1/4 oz PR Rum, !-1/4 Sweet Vermouth. Stir well with cracked ice and strain into a 3oz cocktail glass.
Cheers!

Oops, I just checked what FF is so I deleted my post.

Sewing Siren, thanks for picking up the spirit (ha). Lots of Puerto Rican (Project Runway?) Rum involved. Good times!

Sewing Siren - excellent choices in cocktails for the finalists! How about adding this one for Chris, just for the love:

The Fozzy Bear Cocktail

4 parts lemonade
1/2 After Shock (Blue)
1/2 peach schnapps (archers)
1/2 gin
1/2 galliano

Into a highball glass add some ice followed by 1/2 measures of Gin, Galliano, Archers (Peach Schnappes) and Blue Aftershock and top up with lemonade.

I think I'd use this for Jillian:

The Zombie (courtesy of About.com)

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/4 oz lemon juice
1 oz dark rum
3/4 oz orange juice
1/2 oz cherry brandy
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz high-proof dark rum
2 dashes grenadine
PREPARATION:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass with crushed ice.

I'm wih Jay McCarroll, I pick Rami as the winner.

I also picked Jay as the winner for season 1. He's very talented also.

Kristin said...

Jay was head & shoulders the winner over Kara Saun & Wendy P. There was no doubt.

I can't wait until Christian starts talking like a real person and not such a Valley Girl.
