Tonight's the night, it's gonna be alright.

This is it, Chitlins! Tonight we find out just which one of these bitches is competing for the big prize.

As attention whore (and we mean that in the most loving way) Andy Cohen put it in his blog today:

"Hey guess what, tonight is just about the greatest, classiest, power packed episode of "Project Runway" that you'll see. I love the challenge and the talent and the excitement. Only three make it to fashion week, peoples! Maybe this is the one we should submit for Emmy consideration; it is that good."

Hype or hope? You be the judge!

So, who's it gonna be, kittens? Sissy Bear, Buellerbot 3000, Golden Boy, Biker Chick and/or Princess Puffysleeves? Who's in and who's auf?

Does anyone else have the cold chill of paranoia that the judges will auf Chris just because he's not "supposed" to be there? I REALLY hope that doesn't happen. I'm thinking .... I don't know.

I want it to be Christian, Chris, and Rami but I doubt the producers would have an all-male final which means Jillian will be in the final three. That means that Chris will probably be auf'ed because Christian would have to have a major prom dress episode to get auf'ed and Nina Garcia LOVES Rami too much to auf him. (Although Rami has been put on notice by Nina for being boring and predictable.)

Jillian, Rami and Puffy is my guess.

If Rami, PPS or Jillian don't make it, I will be so surprised I, I, I don't know what. The only shake-up that *might* happen is with Rami--he seems to be slipping out of favor.

Even though I'd like to see more variety in the Final Three (meaning more emotion and less draping), I really think it's gonna be Rami, Christian, and Jillian. Sorry Sweet P honey: at the very least, you and Sissy Bear will be in the running for Fan Favorite. Seriously, who else could it be? :)

Kristin said...

I could see Chris, Christian & Jillian... please. Rami is on my every nerve as is Jillian, but I'll take her over Rami. Sweet P could, but the odds are high.

Anonymous said...

Emmy consideration, huh? Maybe Nina sees yet another puffy-sleeved jacket and ruffles galore, loses her shiite and starts ripping into PPS, making him cry so much the other designers rush to his defense and walk off the stage in protest.

...

Nah. Andy's just hyping.

bitchesdye said...

Sounds like hype to me.

I think it's Christian, Jillian & Chris.

Anonymous said...

Aww, I love Jillian. I hope she's one of the final 3. She's so talented!

Anonymous said...

Christian and Rami for sure, not sure about the third one...it could be Chris, we saw him crying.

Anonymous said...

In my fantasy, it's The Princess and The P for the auf.

But in reality, I predict Rami Lami Ding Dong will be the surprise auf, with Sweet P being the "expected" auf.

All five of them showed on fashion week, so they all won something. Now, from the previews, there will be some kind of twist (the announcer says something like "a first on project runway").

My guess: Princess, Jillian, and Sissybear make it to the finals.

Robbie said...

Hopefully Chris, Christian, and Jillian... tired of the draping and confusion from the other two.

Anonymous said...

Christian MUST be in. Jillian MUST be in. Chris SHOULD be in, if there is any good karma in the universe.

"Robbie said...

LOL. True. And P.S. you're hot.

Anonymous said...

See, I disagree, I don't think Chris should be in. Rami, as annoying as he is, is way more talented than P and Chris. In my opinion: Jillian, Rami and Christian.

Anonymous said...

I'll just say one thing - if they eliminate Rami tonight there is justice in this world.

Anonymous said...

I am betting Chris gets auf'ed, although Rami should have been gone, gone, gone for that disgusting mess he put on his wrestler last week. He is so one note.

I was trying to tell from the collections who it was who was out - Rami send a predictable collection down the runway, drape, drape, drape, Christian went over the top, too much in my view, Sweet P was a decoy I think, Jillian is in, and Chris went dark Goth, with some gorgeous stuff and some stuff that freaked people out, like the yak hair. So he was either going to win, or he was doing what he wanted. Either way, I am glad he got to show.

Kristin said...

Drapey may be talented, but very one note...as is PPS, but he has shown some diversity.

Anonymous said...

In: Christian, Jillian, and Chris.
Out: Sweet P and Rami.

Except that in real life it's probably Rami in and Chris out.

Tom in KC, you have a way with words. Thanks for making me laugh!

I hope it is Chris, Jillian and Christian. I know most of you on this blog really give Christian a rough time, but I think he is definitely the most talented and really has a vision. His vision has been great and his personality has really made this a fun season to watch. I read in his sister's blog that she reads your blogs and likes you guys, especially the cartoon on the avant garde challenge.

It will be Chris, Christian and Jillian top 3, mark my words!

GothamTomato said...

Jillian & Christian are definite (have to be), with the third spot filled by either Rami or Chris.

All along I thought odds are it's Rami - but maybe Nina & Duchess became bored with him, like a child grows bored with a toy? I now think it's possible that Rami & Chris are almost even money. Almost.

Still most likely that it's Jillian, Christian & Rami though.

But might they mess with our heads by making it all 5 in the finals? Hmmm...

I am guessing that it will be Jillian, Christian and Rami.

Sorry, but I don't fully buy the fancy editing in the previews. When has that ever really predicted who's out? Especially for the final three?

Jenn said...

You know, I really wish these Bravo types would KEEP THEIR TRAPS SHUT and let the episodes speak for themselves. We were all going to watch this anyway, why the build up?
Now the expectations are so high that there's bound to be a letdown. Emmy? This had better be REALLY, REALLY good...

GothamTomato said...

"adigal said: Chris went dark Goth"

That is a big reason why I don't think he was in the final as well. I've also been thinking, for a while, that Rami might be this year's Austin - someone else who started out strong, but whose inability to break out of his comfort zone (and that bitch Nancy O'Dell) kept him out of the final.

Im sooo excited. Im a little worried that it may turn into a popularity/personality contest instead of being about fashion...meaning that they'll give Chris another break and keep him around...but I'm hoping that they'll just go with Rami, Jillian and Christian.

A comment that Tim made before the season started has been ringing in my ears -- something about a controversial aufing of a designer that he was really rooting for. Has that happened yet? Bill - You won the 'first post' slot! Cheers!

I choose Sissybear and Princess Puffysleeves for SURE . . .

As for the third . . . it really depends upon how frazzled Buellerbot gets. I think Rami fizzled out a little early, and Swee'P has been kind of uneven.

Oh, hellzbellz - I just know I'm going to run home from my usual Wed. night meeting so I don't miss a single dropped stitch!

I'm all for Jillian, Christian and Chris/Sweet P. I just don't want Rami and his self-entitled, boring personality to be in the final three.

Did anyone else notice that four of the top five are the contestants revealed preshow (if this was mentioned previously, sorry, but I didn't want to sift through fourty or so comments). Christian, Chris, Sweet P and Jillian were all the exclusively revealed contestants preshow (during Tim Gunn's Guide to Style).

Anonymous said...

I am going with the consensus here and saying Chris, Jillian and Christian. It sure looks that way from the one preview that shows Rami saying "What?" and Chris looking like he's ready to cry...of course, those Bravo folks mislead us all the time with the editing, but that's just my feeling on this one...:)

Oh my god you're right!...Wow, that would be cool.

Anonymous said...

Maybe the controversial auf-ing that Tim referred to was Kevin.

I'm basing my votes totally outside of fashion. (That's because the only taste I have is in my mouth.) I vote for Rami, Chris, and Sweet P. Rami just because I want to keep looking at him, Chris because you have to love a guy who's dressed himself as an oversized Bavarian hostess with pretzel tits, and Sweet P because she's a biker chick with a heart.

bitchesdye said...

I think the designer that won that Tim thought would be auf'd was Jack--he only made 2 pieces for Tiki Barber.

Stubenville said...

My instinct is:

1. Jillian - there HAS to be a girl and Sweet P just doesn't measure up (apologies to Iman.)

2. Chris, based completely on his expression on the runway from the preview clip.

3. Christian, because in the preview, Nina seems to be berating Rami for draping again. Remember that "Don't bore Nina" is Tim's mantra. Sometimes being sexy just isn't enough... sorry Rami.

Lizzy poo said...

I get your point about Chris showing goth... it made me feel like had nothing to loose and went for it. So my gut says he is out. But then I watched the video of Rami's show and the commentarian (sorry forgot her name) said twice that Rami's clothes had zipper problems and one zipper looked open. Surely he wouldn't have done that if he was the final 3?

Suzanne said...

oh blah blah blah Andy- just like this cast was supposed to be "the best ever"...

Anonymous said...

Early on I picked Rami for the win in the Tresamme challenge due to the judges apparent love for him, but now I sense they have grown tired of him--remember, don't bore Nina. So I think it will be Christian, the eventual winner, and Chris and Jillian to join him. Surprisingly Rami and inevitably Sweet P to be aufed.

My pom-pom waving, jumping up and down, fist pumping, glaring at the television, muttering, imploring and hurling imprecations at the flickering figures will all be in support of SissyBear (eins), Buellerbot 3000 (zwei), and Princess PuffySleeves (drei).

The invective will be shrieked or at least bellowed, for all to hear (as if the neighbors care), if Titscrepancy Draperson displaces the Big Fella.

As to SweePs the Tattooed Lady, she is, it seems, a sweet gal who gave it her best shot at BP, but she's der fünfte (had to look that one up, boys).

All that being said, everyone won, since the Final Five all showed at Bryant Park, and, man oh man, didn't they all get a ton of press and attention? First and foremost, The PR GayBoys, naturellement, but also WWD, USA Today, New York Magazine, New York Daily News, Newsday, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Boston Globe, to mention only some of the marquee names. Not a bad outcome for the entire quintet.

All the best,

NDC

Anonymous said...

christian, jillian, and rami.

Anonymous said...

I'm going with Chris squared and a Jillian on the side. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I think Rami's pushed the judges too far with his signature style. Then again, Uli never really switched things up and she easily made it past the last challenge into Fashion Week.

One last thing - what is up with the ladies in those pictures? The way they're holding their skirts, they both look like they're preparing to flash everyone.

Mom said...

As Bravo-esque as that might seem to tell all five they were in the running and then not reveal until after Bryant Park who was for real, I'd have to think the two who had been left out could sue for loss of income.

That said, I think Christian, Chris and Jillian were doing the happy dance after this episode was filmed, Rami was doing the hissy fit stomp of rejection, and Sweet P was throwing back a few shooters then getting another tattoo to congratulate herself for making it this far.

PhantomMinuet said...

The only one I care about is Chris, and I think he's doomed. There have been way too many "win a challenge, get the boot next week" situations this year for me to rest easy.

Anonymous said...

I still think our legs are being pulled about "3 finalists."

Buellerbot 3000! I KNEW she reminded me of someone. After the nose job, which probably explains my confusion. (Did Jennifer ever get substantial work after Ferris and Dirty Dancing?)

Enywho, in the event I'm wrong and only three collections are "official," the brain says Princess, Bot and Toga Boy.

jen in philly said...

Yeah, I gotta agree with some of the other posters and say that Bravo's probably gonna do some weird shit that none of us are going to pin down before it happens.

Realizing that has enabled me to save brain space wondering about who the final three will be. :)

Yvette said...

I'd like think the producers and judges will be looking for innovation. Based on this, I think Jillian and Christian for sure. And I'd take a gamble on seeing what Sissybear (Chris) can come up with, most likely it won't be as boring as whatever Rami will do for a full runway show.

Let's see if Season 4 can come close to touching Season 1 of Project Runway Canada, now that was a kick-ass group of runway shows.

Anonymous said...

Sissybear, BulerBot 3000, and Princess puffy sleeves. Sweet P is going to buckle and Rami's probably ging to Drape AGAIN. He's designs are getting too redundant. He shouldn't be in the top three. Chris was auf'fed but at least he's shown more range.

Anonymous said...

Oh crud, I hit enter, filled the washer and remembered I'd forgotten my "heart" picks.

Something's not sitting right with me.....we know the challenge, we know the logistics (5 designers now, two will be out according to Heidi). All pretty standard fare...

WHY is Andy Cohen crowing about "best episode ever" and "Emmy consideration"?

I reluctantly agree with those who predict a "twist" that will infuriate PR fans. And I'm willing to bet that we won't know the names of the final three at the end of tonight's episode. Please let me be wrong.

Hype, just like the rest of the season. I really hope Rami is out but I'm afraid Chris and Sweet P bite the dust.

I agree with the others. Whats the point of the prize of showing at Bryant Park when all five showed, got the applause and the shivers and were all well covered in the press and online? It's just a charade to now wonder, who's going to "make it" to Bryant Park. They all made it to Bryant Park. End of story.

kath said...

I figure they need a West Coast designer so Tim can drive around LA in the cute little sportscar that sponsors the show (product placement, people!), so Rami will probably be in. If Chris, Christian and Jillian make the final 3, it will be an all NY final and he'll have to take taxis everywhere for the home visits, with no opportunity to show off the car. That's my theory!

kath said...

Anonymous 7:47 - someone has to win the hundred grand!

While the real prize is showing at Bryant Park, let's not forget the little matter of $100,000 and a car. That's pretty cool. But having 1/3 of the contestants show at BP is kind of lame.

I agree with those who don't think we're finding out anything tonight. And that's lame, too.

Since we know that they all showed at BP, part of me doesn't care.

The other, far bitchier part of me wants to see PPS and Rami have some humility mainlined into their bloodstream and get aufed this round.

I think the producers are just trying to keep everyone hyped up and excited about the finale. Now that we've seen the collections, the end of the show seems more and more like a boring formality. I think that's also why they're doing that extra challenge thing that most of the designers signed on for.

Rami's already a favorite designer of many stylists, and is also adored by Tara Banks.

Once you have Tara's love, well, I figure that's already a lot.

So if he's auf'd, then he'll just go back to Tara-love.

My bet is that PP will win, and about the final 3 would love to see PP (of course), Jillian and Sweet P, but I am conscious that the judges drool over Rami so probably they will give the chance to him rather than Sweet P. Siren -

I know no more than you do about tonight's episode, but I'm fairly confident that the designers are going to get cameras and access to the entire Metropolitan Museum to find an 'inspiration image.'

I would completely agree that even a bored Nina could hardly criticize Rami if the designers only went to the Greek and Roman galleries.

Now that the episode is almost over, I can say that Andy Cohen was right. This episode was the most three dimensional of any this season. It was rich with character. The writing is on the wall for the two to be auf'd and I will be shocked if the decision is otherwise. Roberto Cavalli's comments to the designers was a prize in itself to the contestants. I'm thrilled with this episode. BTW, this episode must have occurred right when Heidi took those pics with Will Ferrell because she's still styling that big hair!

Well...okay.

My two favorites are definitely in, so I'm good, but...doesn't it take away from the drama just a weeeee lil' bit when we all know perfectly well that all five of them end up showing at Bryant Park? The mantra "Only three will make it, only three will be able to show their collections to the world, oh my god ohmygod OHMYGOD ONLY THREE!!!!" seems a tad disingenuous, no?

As happy as I am for all the designers, I do hope that eventually Bravo can get their schedule straightened out so that decoys aren't necessary, allowing for authentic aufs only. Stop watering down the auf, Bravo!!

That's EXACTLY what fucking happened. They couldn't send Chris home and they didn't want to send Rami home...so they came up with this BULLSHIT solution. I have no respect for this show anymore.

OK, did anyone notice how weird Heidi's tits looked in the black dress she wore for the runway judging? They looked like two half grapefruits stuck to her chest. It's criminal, because we all KNOW Heidi has better boobage than that.

Also, c'mon, the Princess' look was SO HOT tonight, there's really no denying it. His model was, um, ferocious-looking (trying to avoid that other f-word everyone is so sick of... no, not that one, the other one). PP totally deserved the win and the spot in the finals.

I think I could hear Gotham Tomato's screams of joy all the way over here when Sweet P was aufed. :)

spiraljacobs, I was wondering the same thing about HK's boobage, like what kind of weird bra she was wearing to smush them like that.

What a ludicrous outcome. Rami's dress was so boring. Even if he had never draped anything else the entire run of the show, it was still boring! He should have been out - far out.

And Jillian's was far better than Christian's, which made his model look top-heavy, and with these gals, that ain't easy.

Chris is showing them something they've seen before?!?!? Bullshit. First of all, they gave Christian the win for that couture organza dress. Second, EVERYTHING THAT CHRISTIAN MAKES LOOKS THE SAME. Gay pirate chic! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he was "in". But Rami in, too? They made some shit up to say negatively about Chris just to shoehorn Rami's boring ass in there.

That's it for her. She still got to show at Bryant Park, which is a prize in itself. And she has a better chance at winning fan favorite than Victorya.

Who was the fan favorite in season 1?
First season?
Second season was Daniel V
Third season was Mi(y)chael Knight

Wow! I thought tonite's episode was fabulous! I'm ok with the outcome. Did anyone else catch that Christian called Tim Gunn "Lady"? HA (hoping for a PRG take on THAT). Don't want to post too much for anyone who's still not seen it yet. Alot to discuss! Can't wait for our Boys' commentary.

Oh and yes the previews look gooood. I'm still guessing on Chris for Fan Favorite. Is the voting all over for that now?

I don't understand why they used Sweet P for a decoy. If they would have aired episode 10 on Jan 30, and episode 11 on Feb 6, the 5th designer as a decoy would have been totally unecessary. BRAVO work on scheduling! The constant 'only 3 will make it to BP' just doesn't have any meaning when 5 end up showing!

Anonymous said...

By "back in" I meant got to show at Bryant Park.

Long time reader first time commenter...Uggh! That was a serious case of runway blue balls. I was really hoping to see Rami auf-ed. Seriously, why why why couldn't they just come up with a decision. They've been doing it for over 3 seasons now. Thank GOD for Mr. Cavalli.

Anonymous said...

I think Sweet P's problem all along, especially seen in this episode and the WWE episode, is that she doesn't have the range to go really over the top to make a statement.

That being said, I think she makes VERY store friendly clothes and there are definitely a few of her dresses she's made I'd wear!

My take, for what it is worth:
Cavalli thought Chris was the best, so Nina and Kors couldn't get rid of him in favor of Rami, like they had planned on doing. They don't like him because he is "costume" and because he is overweight. Otherwise, why the extra running challenges (which are completely unnecessary) and why all the film of him snoring. Plus, on Tim's Take, he criticizes Chris for being lazy, and says he could have done so much more with his dress, but the dress was beautifully elegant. What more did he want him to do?

If Chris had Rami's body, he would be a favorite of the judges. I really think it is a fat bias. They just can't hide their disgust with him, and Cavalli made it impossible for them to get rid of him. I did love that.

And Christian - skinny pants, jacket. Wow! How unexpected!!

Anonymous said...

adigal... I completely agree about the fat bias.

katiecoo said...

Rami's model had a real trouble walking in that dress (either that or she's a horrible walker). At times it skirted in to too-much-tootieville.

Just like last season, they bent the rules so they didn't have to auf a Judges' Pet.

word on the fat bias. those running challenges have upset me from day one - it's just cruel and unnecessary. i also wonder where the zaftig female designers are (were)? or chefs on top chef? Sweet P hardly counts, though I'm pleased to see someone who looks real making fancy clothes.

Bravo f'd up, in my book. the whole schtick of tonight's show was ONLY THREE GO TO BRYANT PARK WOWEEEEE OOOOO!
except we all know that all five showed.

and so chris is "lazy" because he's (fat) and takes naps, but Christian sitting around taking pot-shots at others' work is a-ok?

booo.

Cannot Look Away said...

I am so fucking mad, so so fucking mad about what they did to Chris.

I agree with a bunch of you about this:

They were NEVER going to let Chris in, but unfortunately Cavalli threw a wrench in the works.

Now they are going to bend everything and go out of their way TO MAKE SURE RAMI GETS EVERY CHANCE to get in the show, while they give themselves another chance to get rid of Chris when the irksome (to them) Cavalli is gone.

What a load of crap. How transparently manipulative. Mark my words: Chris is out.

Last year they told Michael and Jeffrey they "believed in them" and then they had four in the finale. So what is the problem with having four this year? Oh, let's see.....one of them is overweight! Can't have that. If Rami isn't a finalist I will eat my shorts.

This whole thing just makes me sick. And I loved Chris's garment. It was just gorgeous. If anything made him deserve an unqualified win, that did.

But NO. Fucking bigots.

Ste.Lar said...

Why don't all of you non fierce people get a life and stop hating on Christian, I am 21 and if I was a gay male I would be just like him. He keeps it real all the time. Your comments are just as bitchy as his, but yet you guys want to judge his attitude, throwing stones aren't we?... Also, if you are too narrow minded to accept his avant garde designs then maybe you should be watching project pattern maker.

Anonymous said...

Chris COPIED that dress from a previous challenge. Zero Originality for the final challenge. Like Heidi said, the second time around it's not so great or impressive.

+

Chris didn't even design the original dress by himself (i.e. major help from Christian who was team leader)

+

Every other thing Chris has made has been subpar and costumey

=

He should have been kicked off. IMO he's still sticking around cuz people like him and it makes a good story. If he makes it to fashion week over Rami I might throw up a little. And maybe Cavalli helped a little cuz that is the first time he's ever seen that dress.

And I really like Rami's dress. I thought it was really beautiful. Impeccable and just something that a lot of women would want to wear. But I do agree about the draping...but he does it beautifully. And I would take that over all the clothes Chris has made this season minus that one dress he made twice. lol.

Does anyone know if Jillian had to give up her Ralph Lauren job to go on PR?
If no, looks like RC has pretty much scooped her away from RL!

My guess is that Cavalli and Kors went for Chris and the ladies went for Rami so there really was a deadlock. I wish Sissybear had had the energy to do a different collar because that dress really could have been a standout without being repetitive. He'd have been final 3 for sure. PP did have a dramatic look, although the ruffly puffly thing is getting a bit much. Jillian's was okay but didn't wow me. I'd have given the PP win too.

Rami's was surprisingly bad. He really does stick with the drab colors, and it was unwalkable (I agree about the potential tootieness). That strap around the back was odd. Sweet P's was a disaster with the unattractive fabrics, gaping pockets and line down the back. She deserved to be auf'ed but she's so sweet it's a little like clubbing a baby seal.

I would love to have Cavali around more often. He made my Sissybear so happy.

Sheesh.

I wish all the judges would just get over themselves and look beyond the shiny domes and ruffles.

geez...i watched it again.
when rc says he loves chris' dress, you can really see the concern on the faces of the other judges.

the more i think about how differently they treat chris, the more pissed off i get!!!!!

Anonymous said...

My thoughts.

Christian deserved the win. It had drama, it made a statement.

Jillian did a brilliant job with her interpretation. I found it interesting to read about how she was inspired by the piece.

Sweet P's... was just fug and the styling... I didnt get the hair. Cavalli was right, the dress needed drama. tim in his blog hit the nail on the head. Frankly, sweet P can't work at a fast enough pace to create a dramatic piece. She delivered in Bryant Park, but fizzled out of ideas after a few strong looks.

Rami. In my opinion, there were some fabulous details on this dress, and in a way was not safe. But it was his fault for repeating this note far too much in the competition. I can understand him wanting to do what he loves, but he didn't take his look far enough.

Chris - I saw it on the runway, and while it looked aesthetically pleasing, the fabric looked really cheap to me. I don't know what material he used, but it didn't feel luxurious or fabulous to me. My guess is he picked something that would hold a shape like that.

I don't know how he didn't see the grey thing as a copy of the avant garde piece. it was so dramatic and memorable, that repeating such a reminiscent sillhuoette was a bad decision on his part.

I find the fat bias laughable. the judges don't agree with your decision so it's obvious they hate fat people. I hate to be overly critical of other people's opinions, but saying that christian copies himself is really dumb. He has an aesthetic and a very strong point of view. You can tell that what he makes is completely Christian.

His creations are inspired and creative.

I don't see him as one note because he reinterprets his aesthetic to fit the challenge to create an impeccable look. His workmanship is to put it mildly unbelievable.

I know not everyone in this blog is a Christian fan, but in my opinion he is the most talented designer in project runway history. I was blown away by many of his creations through the show and his Bryant Park collection was phenomenal.

It's a bit hard for me to say this, but there's no other designer where I can say i was this consistently impressed.

Anonymous said...

Know what...I fell asleep on this episode and missed all the judging.

Though I love Chris, I was SO disappointed that his design was so reminiscent of the AG challenge dress. In fact, almost EVERY designer made something that echoed one or more prior designs.

Are they so freakin' exhausted by this time in the competition that they can't edit themselves? Or, is the Artist just single-minded (stubborn!) about his/her "vision"?

- Ignatz

Anonymous said...

Sigh....
I'm happy for Sissybear but I don't think he'll get to "compete" at Bryant Park...his collection might be too costumey for the judges..you know how they are with that.

But I think they should say "compete" at Bryant Park instead of "showing" at Bryant Park because we all know that there is a decoy collection.
Almost every year.

I'm happy that Sweet P did get to "show" at BP along with Sissybear.

I think PPsleeves will take it all though.

Anonymous said...

It is funny - maybe we see what we want. I thought that Chris' design was different enough from his avant garde (and I guess is WAS his design, and not Christian's, according to the judges) that it was original. Different fabric, totally different dress. Totally gorgeous! Whereas, Christian just hyped up what he had been doing all season. And after seeing their Bryant Park shows, Christian just did that look over and over and threw in a few reminiscent of the avant garde pieces, because I bet he was pissed that Cavalli said that Chris was the most artistic.

And I agree with RB - how is Chris napping a waste of time, while Christian walking around mocking the other designs a useful way to spend extra time?

Anonymous said...

OH, and how could anonymous not see the fat bias? Two running challenges? Then lots of film of Chris sleeping and snoring? Totally unnecessary and meant to portray Chris as fat and lazy! Really offensive, in my view.

What will they do next year? Have a disabled designer, perhaps in a wheelchair, and make the designer climb a ladder to get their fabrics on top of a roof somewhere? Such fun! Make fun of the different person!!

Off topic:

I don't get it: WHY doesn't Bravo show the freakin' DESIGNS on a freakin' REALITY SHOW ABOUT FASHION DESIGN???

I decided to check out the Preview Fashion show to get an idea of "who the designers are" when not in a reality show environment. I checked out the Bravo site, and found only a lengthy video showing myriad cuts of talking heads saying how exciting it is to preview the designers' fashion...and then was rewarded for my patience with about 10 seconds of freakin' fast cuts of maybe six looks! WHA????

As for the series itself: SO MUCH of each episode is spent on self-promotion, product placement and ads that I can barely tolerate it. Then, at long last, when I hope to see the actual DESIGNS ON A REALITY SHOW ABOUT DESIGNS, I'm treated to such a poorly-lit fast-cut mess that I often wonder WHAT the judges are talking about (Judge: "and I LOVE the back"...Me: "WHAT ABOUT THE BACK...SHOW THE BACK SHOW THE BACK"...Fast cut to the designer's beaming-but-modest face...

Dang, I'm tired. I've said it before, and mean it more than ever: THIS SERIES WOULDN'T BE ANY FUN IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOU, TLo (and you, Kittens and Poodles).

If anyone out there in Poodle Land knows where I can find a REAL video (or slideshow) of the pre-season 4 designers' show, could you post it?

Thanks for listening. I needed to vent. (If there's an Anonymous out there who thinks I'm psychologically disturbed and need immediate attention, I agree. So there's no need to post that message.)

I don't think Chris's dress was a rip-off of the dress from the avant garde challange. So it had a large collar... so what? The collar looked different - it was big, but that ended the similarity - and the rest of the dress was not at all the same.

Oh my god I just read Alison's blog and let me tell you WHAT A BITCH!...is she part of the slim-fast group of friends (Christian, Jack, VictorYA, Kevin)? Why does she hate SissyBear so much?

Here's what she said:

"[Christian]He was completely ripped off by Chris and I thought the judges would lambaste Chris for that, but instead they gave him a second chance (once again) for an in to Bryant Park ...? I saw his collection last week and it reeked of a vaudevillian flophouse compared to Christian, Jillian, and Rami's collections, which were enlightened, modern, and daring.

Poor Sweet P, I shed a tear for her today. It must have taken quite a toll on her senses to come to the realization that she was the only one truly eliminated today. Between me and you, I would so much rather see her show in the tents than certain others."

Bitch! And what is she doing blogging? Didn't she say that blogger were losers or something?

Anonymous said...

What, exactly, was done to Chris that has people so incensed?

-Unlike the gown Chris designed with Christian, without the collar piece, the gown from last night would have been blah blah blahsville. I think without the collar, Cavalli wouldn't have given that gown a second thought and Chris is out without question. Instead because Cavalli had not seen his piece with Christian, Chris dodges another bullet and was given YET ANOTHER SECOND CHANCE. How many second chances should one contestant get? If anything, Rami should be ticked.

-Furthermore, if Rami's standout pieces woop up on Chris's pieces and Rami moves on, Chris has no one to blame but himself.

Anonymous said...

I loved Chris's dress that some think ripped off Christian's avant garde look. To me it was very different, though he probably should have worked harder to make sure no one regarded it as mimicking the avant garde outfit. It ain't easy making a dramatic collar that stays up; remember Laura Bennett's fabulous coutoure dress collar she made in Paris? It flattened en route to NYC. I give Chris great credit. In the modern American mind set anything dramatic gets labelled "costumey," which is sad and limiting.

Let's see ...

This season, we were treated to judges who were anything but impartial; challenges so bland that physical tests were included; product endorsement worthy of an hour-long infomercial; editing so blatantly dishonest that Tim's disgust for a garment was fashioned into praise; and now this, one final twist: judges who don't judge. That was no "twist" but more like a "wringing", as in "of the neck of the goose that laid the golden egg."

Enjoy that Emmy, Andy ... as if.

David,

I agree that Alison might have some sour grapes about Chris being let back in when Jack bowed out. More about that next week on the Bravo reunion show! Watch what happens!™

However, having seen the runway pics, I can understand where Alison gets her opinions. I wouldn't have been as pointed, but I will say that through several challenges this year and in the Bryant Park show itself, Chris struggled with some bad fabric choices.

Velvet is a cruel mistress.

I'm not defending Alison or the way she expressed her opinions-- just giving you some insight as to why she had them.

And SweetP didn't? Yikes, (if she's going to compare the two), she struggled with fabric, taste level, construction, time management (everything). She created nothing but very simple pieces all season (nothing new), and couldn't even manage to do them well, even at that basic level.

For Alison to say what she said was simply stupid.

Ok, sorry. I think the people who are bitching about the fat bias are the ones obsessed with his weight. I don't even really think about him being overweight. If anything, you people find it a big deal.

Second, you really think they designed running challenges to make fun of Chris. Let's face it, most reality shows have people run for things. This isn't new. It happens in nearly every reality show .

And what do you expect. Chris to a nap during the last challenge. And they weren't supposed to show us that because it might make Chris look lazy? That's ridiculous.

clearly this board is beyond biased toward Chris and anytime anyone says something negative about him, they are fat biased.

his garment was lovely, but it was too reminiscent of his avant garde piece. It was his moment to wow the judges, and both Rami and Chris failed to do that. Cavalli was wowed because he hadn't seen the avant garde piece. It's probably true that his unbiased opinion saved Chris, but that is what guest judges are for. They haven't seen the entire season so they have a different point of view. I thought Rami's dress was really nice and he put in some details that I thought were interesting. That dress represented him as a designer, but again he didn't take the garment far enough.

I think it was a good idea of the judges to have Rami and Chris compete again. Rami needs to prove he can create sophisticated clothes, but bring something new. Chris needs to develop a more cohesive point a view, yet still bring fashion.

Lucy, I splain it all to you -

Jillian and Puffy Princess are getting $8K and are making 12 piece collections to show at Bryant Park. Chris and Rami will also get $8K each and will bust their asses making 12 looks, but there will be a special judging immediately before the Bryant Park show to determine which of the two guys is in the official 'final three' and actually gets to compete for the $100K prize.

And to make this mess even more opaque, the guy who looses will show as a decoy along with Sweet P. Could the producers have found a way to f*ck it up any more royally?
