They shot her AGAIN!

Well, if anyone thinks Princess learned any humility from the prom debacle - THINK AGAIN, DARLINGS. Then again, isn't that why we love him so?

And if anyone thinks Rami learned how to take criticism ---PFFFT! HAHAHAHAHA! NOBODY thought THAT!

Ooooh, this looks GOOD. Wonder why they need "so much fabric" and that architectural wire piece Sissy Bear is creating is intriguing (I go for him for the win not even knowing what this challenge is but something about "over the top").

I'm psyched about this one! Thanks for posting fellas.

Yay! More Jillian '70s theater student outfits. She's really channeling Kate Bush this episode...
First!!!

Damn, not first.

Teams again? Maybe they're eliminating 2 people. Are Chris & Christian on a team together?

I can't wait.

Anonymous said...

I think the "special announcement" is that they have to work on teams...

Anonymous said...

The Teams are Rami and Sweet P, Kit and Ricky, Victorya and Jillian, Chris and Christian. And I'm pretty sure C&C win. Wonder what it could be, stilt dancers' costumes? Something for a parade?

DolceLorenzo said...

I'm quite intrigued by the cellphone tower Chris is designing.
Rami is a fucking prima donna who doesn't take any criticism AT ALL. he's still hot, tough.
Ricky says he doesn't want to go home? IF THERE IS A GOD YOU'RE FUCKING GOING HOME, DUDE!

Anonymous said...

NOOOOOOO, no double elimination, please!

Stephanie said...

I don't quite understand the challenge. But I'm looking forward to seeing Chris use his costume skills!

bitchesdye said...

THIS IS BASED ON THE SPOILER INFO--YOU WERE WARNED. Maybe it's like that one epi of Shear Genius--they see hairstyles from the past and have to make costumes that match.

Chris is a shoein.

Mike B. said...

They've got to be fucking kidding.

EVERY SINGLE CHALLENGE this season beyond the first episode has either been (a) with different models, (b) with materials other than fabric, (c) in teams, or (d) making something other than womenswear. EVERY SINGLE CHALLENGE. Seven in a row. Every other season had had three or four straightforward challenges at this point.

These designers are not being tested on what they do well--we have to see a few episodes where they aren't thrown any curves other than the difficulty of the brief. The nonstandard challenges liven things up occasionally, but once or twice a season is MORE than enough.

Talk about jumping the shark this year. Sheesh.

GothamTomato said...

Hmmm...Doesn't it seem like they've had more team challenges this season?

Poor Rami; stuck with Sweet P. That had to be her choice. And it looked like Ricky was asked that question, 'who should go home?'

On the other hand, Chris & Christian will be fun to watch.

Gawd, "Android" Jillian's owner needs check her manufacturer's website. I seriously think there may be a recall on the emotion chip for her model number.

I don't think this is double-elimination... Heidi says "one of you will be out" in the previews. Could just be a voiceover from another epi to throw us off, but that would be cruel.

Suzanne said...

Why do they always have to be in such a RUSH??
I mean Jesus Christ on the Cross is it going to kill htme to extend shooting a week or two so we can see what these designers can really do?

By the way when Heidi sings that "byyye" after she assigns the models I want to just punch her as hard as I can right in the middle of her face. Its obnoxious. I miss Iman.

Sissy bear for the WIN!

Ricky, please? D:

In any case, I don't want Kit to go home. xD I don't want her to leave as a bridesmaid!

Suzanne said...

And ANOTHER thing: I think a couture challenge should be mandatory every season. I agree with Mike B- enough bullshit. Lets see their WORK.

Anonymous said...

Me thinks Kit and Ricky might be in trouble.
I'm scared for Kit, especially if it's a double elimination. If it's not and Kit gets sent home before Ricky lots of people, myself included, are going to be pissed, especially after the last episode.

No way are they going to eliminate golden boy Rami, possibly Sweet P though.

Red Seven said...

What a stupid challenge.

Oh, and that second video certainly makes it appear that Ricky's on the chopping block (again).

I hope, I hope, I hope.

(It just occurs to me that he probably reads this every week and that I just hurt his feelings. But you'll note that I'm going to click and send anyway.)

Mom said...

Seriously, send Ricky home! Chris for the win! Rami for some attitude adjustment!

Brooklyn Bomber said...

It does seem like they're running out of ideas and are terrified of repeating themselves, challenge-wise. What'd be so bad about repeating some of the more interesting challenges they've done in the past, for God sake?

Anonymous said...

I don't think it's a double elimination or they would not have brought back Chris - they would have simply turned this into a single and let the schedule balance out. I seem to recall that they did that the year Keith left.

I agree with others about these silly challenges. Entertaining yet, but half way through the season I still don't have a clear idea about the style of the individual designer. These challenges don't showcase their skills or their point of view.

WTF? Design something based on the model's hairstyle? what, long straight hair? Not very inspiring. I feel like I am densely not grasping something here.

PS. I love the idea of chris and christian together tho

Anonymous said...

The one shot shows Christian with (sleeve? collar?) some sort of flounce from the model standing next to him a good foot OVER his head.
Over the top, indeed!

Anonymous said...

Jillian and VictorYa working together? The model's poor titties do not stand a chance! In fact, they may wind up being concave by the end of the challenge.

Stubenville said...

My wild guess is that the teams are designing costumes for Snow White, and team Chris is doing the Evil Stepmother. That would be a competition designed just for Sissy Bear!

Kanani said...

I'm glad to see that Rami & Sweet P are providing the conflict that reality TV thrives on in this episode.

Jillian and YaYa are very similiar in temperament and expression, which means that what they'll come up with will be beautifully finished but equivalent to a valium dress.

Rami and Sweet P --the only thing they have in common is L.A. and they don't even live in the same area --no way!

Chris and Christian are also well paired. Chris is the perfect foil for Christian's teen age angst.

Kit and Ricky --well, one moves forward with some optimism and Ricky, well, he just cries.

Will Ricky be sent home?
*cue tears*

"I don't want to go home" bahhhh!!!

Ricky, why don't you want to go home? Home is good. You know where all your stuff is. Seriously, a high-pressure reality show just isn't your thing. Ditto for Sweet Pea. The auffings will be a relief.

I find it very funny that some people are complaining that this season has too many non-standard challenges for the designers.

I find it funny since the tasks which involve non-traditional materials or themes have not only been the "standard", but they're the ones that form the foundation of the show.

Just go back to the season 1. The first task was using materials from the grocery store and they only had a budget of $50. It wasn't until the 3rd epsiode they got to use real fabrics in the Banana Republic challenge. There were 2 team challenges the first season. 1 involving making a stage outfit for a rock singer. They made postal uniforms. They had a version fo the prom dress challenge by making bridal gowns for their models.

These challenges have always been there to push them out of their comfort zone as much as possible. Force them to be creative and approach fashion in a new setting while trying to assert their point of view. They also provide a great deal of entertainment and are the core of the show.

These so called stupid challenges show you can make great looking fashion no matter what the materials, circumstances or how constrained the budget. Austin's Corn Husk dress is still talked about today as the benchmark. Micheal's coffee filter gown, Kara's garden party outfit, Kara Saun's postal uniform, Keffrey's recycled dress, Elisa's Bitten ensemble and Rami's Hershey's dress are all examples of great works with a defined point of view.

I'm thinking maybe Rami goes home... Tim said we'd be pissed with many of the episodes this season, and last season looks like it was the beginning of the bad decisions... maybe at that rate, Ricky will win. And maybe hell will freeze over simultaneous. But hey, you never know--after all, he's still there. Why, I can't say.

I too will be very upset if Ms. Kit gets eliminated next week. I heart her in a majorly major way.

I can hardly WAIT for this challenge! Sissybear for the WIN!

Joanie said...

Jillian smiled? OMG! There is still life in the old girl.

Victorya's "horror" was so...unconvincing. Me thinks she'd do well as a professional poker player. Can she have any flatter affect? Good God, over-medicated psych patients express more emotion than she does.

Sissy and our little princess seem to actually be having fun. Chris is EXACTLY the sort of mentor Christian needs. "Fierce is fine, honey, but you have to have a some whimsy in your life or you're not living. And your hair doesn't count as whimsy."

Rami and SweetP? Oy vey. If SweetP's tats and Rami's draping could somehow slam into each other, there might be a chance.

Ricky needs Kit to pull his ass out of the fire (or maybe set it atop one to get him motivated) and create something edgy and exciting.

C & C should lead the pack this time. Let us all join hands and pray.

Mr. Rice said...

As a man married to a Korean woman, let me just say that Victorya was showing emotion in that video. I actually flinched, ready to be hit or pinched in the nips, seeing that frustration.

Mike B. said...

I don't think it's a double elimination or they would not have brought back Chris - they would have simply turned this into a single and let the schedule balance out. I seem to recall that they did that the year Keith left.

Except when Jack left they'd already given him a special client who needed to be attended to. Unless they were willing to toss her out the door, they needed a designer to start working with her right away. Not comparable to what happened with Keith.

And Frank: I certainly don't mind the non-standard challenges. But gimme a break! This season has had twice as many as any other, and it's absurd. I have not seen what these people can do when the assignment is just to make a pretty dress for a pretty girl out of pretty fabrics, all by yourself. Is that so fucking much to ask?

What are we going to see at Fashion Week if we haven't given them a few chances at simple, straightforward projects? Who exactly are we trying to eliminate--the weak designers, the poor sewers, or the people who are just thrown by having to make plus-sized menswear out of paper clips and spit?

Anonymous said...

Oh no! The designers have to step out of their comfort zone again? =P

Can't wait to see those hairstyles and why Rami seems to think a corset is so wild?! he-he

Anonymous said...

I heard that this challenge involves designing an advant garde
outfit (kinda like the couture challenge from last season only the outfit is supposed to be more art-like and grand).

I think the judges like having Rami in the competition cause of his talent and his star stature in the fashion world (when compared to the others). It would not make sense to boot him over one bad outfit in a group challenge. I doubt he's team leader cause he would never pick Sweet Pea or anyone else on that team, me thinks Rami was chosen.

@Suzanne: re: Iman - agreed! I ran into one of the PR Canada reruns on Slice at the moment where Iman FLIPS her head at the camera to say "NEXT, on Project Runway Canada" in that tone that implies she'll crawl through the TV and bitch-slap you with her handbag if you don't.

Heidi could learn a LOT from that woman.

Anonymous said...

The last episode was definitely the "Jumped the Shark" episode. I hate to say that too because I love this show, but it gets more and more ridiculous with each challenge. I know it must be hard to come up with challenges, but maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have a wedding dress challenge again, or a uniform challenge again. And where are the flippin' WALK OFFS!? That Ricky is still competing is one of the elements that proves that PR has crossed the timberline. It's all down hill from here out. Gosh I hate saying that.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Rice... I am with you... way to go Victorya, you are a winner!!! The sad thing of PR is that they have to keep SweetP and Ricky till the end, for the drama. They don´t show the real work!!! I give only one more season to PR!!!

Alex! said...

I wish people would stop shooting Jillian.

I don't understand the complaints here. The challenges so far this season:

1: Real clothing, high end materials, no restrictions
2: SJP Bitten line, real clothing, retail restrictions
3: Tiki Barber, real clothes, menswear
4: Rethink fashion trends: real clothes, style restrictions
5: Makeover: real clothes, material restrictions
6: Hersheys: unrealistic clothes, extreme material restrictions
7: Prom dress: real clothes, no real restrictions

It seems to me they've spent most of the season making real clothes just the way a real fashion designer would.

GothamTomato said...

I don't mind unconventional materials at all. I also don't mind non-models.

I just wish there weren't so many team challenges. I think they allow some to hide behind others, to camouflage their shortcomings.

Alberta Ferretti is guest judge next week, and the designers must "step outside themselves and design based on the model's hairstyle," according to the Project Runway web site. Wild idea for a challenge! How do you do THAT??

I don't mind the non-traditional materials and I loved stuff like the postal challenge.

But, the whole model thing this year is lousy. If they're creating one outfit and only using half the models (if), it means yet another show where we don't get to see or know the models. I usually have a favorite model by this point and we're usually beginning to see some fruitful designer/muse pairings, but it just ain't happening this year.

Here's how the rest of the season should pan out based on the spoilers I've seen/wishful thinking:

Tomorrow: Chris and Christian win, the challenge is right up Chris's alley. Rami tries to throw Sweet P under the bus for bad construction but the Judges send him home instead for uninspired, restrained design.

Next week: Kit wins by making exceptional edgy Jeans. Ricky gets the Robert Best treatment (same complaint over and over again and is finally sent home).

2 Weeks from now: Some sort of Gown challenge (I predict). Chris wins with a fug design. VictorYa is sent home and throws a massive Tantrum.

3 Weeks from now: Sweet P is extremely surprised she lasted as long as she did when she is sent home. Jillian wins the challenge for a celebrity client.

4 Weeks from now: The "show us who you are as a designer" challenge, everything as fug (as always). either all four make it to fashion week, or Kit is eliminated. Jillian wins by Default.

Fashion Week:
4th: Kit (if she's there)
3rd: Christian
2nd: Jillian
Winner: Chris!
