Ugh - can I go on record as saying lots of nasty things about Allison (her best friends on the show were Keith and Jeffrey - think about it.) And her post auf'd interviews were petty.
Why not Marcel? Um, did you watch the show? Hardly Universally loved. Of course, looking back, almost all of the season 2 contestants were 4th graders with cooking skills...
Uli and Sam. I don't think Sam is hot at all, but whatever mysterious attraction the rest of the human race had with him is what won him fan favorite; not his personality or cooking.
It's hard to say who the female is, but I'm banking on Sam. Could be Kara Saun.

- Marcel. Yeah right. Besides, he and Elia are both Vegas-based.

Oh, you boys! How tantalizing. Those heteros considered "hot" include Top Chef's Sam, Harold, Elia. Of those, "beloved" applies mostly to Harold and Lee Ann. "Beloved" also applies to PR's Michael and Uli. Alison (hot) didn't really get that far in the competition and no one who did would be both hot and heterosexual. Is a puzzlement.

Well, she's a helluva lot more beloved than Alison. I've never heard anyone say anything negative about Uli but need I remind you of all the vitriol that was spewed after her "retard" and "scoliosis" remarks? The kittens and unicorns pictures disappeared pretty quickly after that. I think after she opened her mouth it was determined Alison is pretty on the outside and pretty ugly on the inside.

So in aggreement, I think Sam is just greasy and gross, never understood the attraction. I think Padma is a good guess in light of her pending divorce but that doesn't leave many choices for the guy.
I say its:
PR Season 1 Robert Plotkin as "the hot one" and
TC Season 1 LeeAnn as the "beloved" one.
I don't necessarily think he is "hot" but that was the regular commentary during his season.
I say the "beloved" one is Kara Saun, and the "hot" one is Cliff.
I'm pretty sure Kara Saun isn't hetero though, so it can't be her. I wish I knew more Top Chef people, but since I never really got into watching it, I'm having trouble "mixing and matching."

I hope it isn't anyone from Season 2 of Top Chef - especially Ilan, Sam, Elia or Cliff. They physically assaulted Marcel and videotaped their attack for laughs and giggles. It was seriously the most disgusting thing I've ever seen on a BRAVO program. Despicable!

She tried to cheat in the finale (with donated custom shoes), and never did comprehend why it was a problem. And she was really childish and petty in her feud with Wendy.
Great designer, but also a hypocrite and not a nice person - definitely not "beloved."

Hats off to you, Marcel. And that lying, dull, manipulative Ilan Hall can starve in a ditch before I'll ever eat in his boring Spanish diners.
