It's almost as bad as Vincent winning.

Good for Jeffrey! His collectons was definately the most well thought-out and cohesive. Congrats to Uli and Michael as well. Uli's was so Miami and Michael has a lot of talent, just needs to get his mind around it more.

NOW what am I gonna do on Wednesday nights?

THANK YOU! Do you know I spent 2 hours last night writing a thesis to explain why the others wouldn't win and why Jeffrey would, but I ended up deleting it because I just knew it would fall on deaf ears.

To everyone screaming about how Jeffrey shouldn't have won, I would love for them to explain in the world of fashion how their favorite did instead. No one can do it.

I like Jeffrey's fashion because it's within my taste. I make clothing like that. I make stuff like that, I wear stuff like that, but I can look at it objectively and still see he's the best candidate. I would see that whether I hated the guy or not. Santino was my favorite last year, but I felt Daniel V. deserved the win (Chloe, wtf? That was some left fieldage there) and I wanted him to win.

Jeffrey deserved this whether you like it or not. It has NOTHING to do with him personally, it's solely his clothing. Let me rephrase that, HE didn't deserve it, his COLLECTION did.

I went through the ROOF when Tim said:

"I can say, with 100% certainty, that Jeffrey absolutely sewed all his garments"

For all those that said otherwise, Karma is definitely comin around.

And it's a Bitch!

I just do not understand. How on earth could they have chosen Jeffery's collection... a collection they found FAULTS in... over Uli's collection which they all just raved about?

... this is the first time ever I haven't been able to defend the judges decision. I don't think I'll be buying this season.

Just wait until Jeffery is broke and back on heroin, because he can't sell any of his pathetic, worthless clothes. Remember rock stars don't pay, and REAL women don't want to wear a dish rag.
BARF.
How disgusting. New judges. New producers.
Can't say I'll never watch again, but oh my god, if Jeffery doesn't take a goddamn shower soon...

Jeffrey is the winner of Project Runway! And deservedly so. Jeffrey’s collection embodied the greatest amount of experimentation and innovation and, consequently, also took the most risks. What’s tricky about risk-taking is that it’s like throwing dice: you could win, yes, but you could lose, big time. Jeffrey’s collection was a fabulous amalgam of grunge/punk sensibility and high-end sophistication. To me, those characteristics are antithetical, but he got them to coexist. The twelve individual looks were each unique in their own way, yet there was an undeniable cohesion in evidence when they walked as a group. I was completely wowed by his success, but I can’t say that I was confident that the judges would respond in accordance. Chacun a son gout. Throughout the season, Jeffrey has not been content to show the same work over and over; the same sensibility, yes, but not regurgitations of the designs. Consequently, I didn’t know what to expect when I visited him in Los Angeles to check up on the progress of his collection. There, I was blown away by the work that I saw. The innovations in the designs resonated clearly. It was the success of his innovation and experimentation, along with the indisputable wearability of the collection that cinched his win. Congratulations, Jeffrey!

What is this about Bravo suing Jeffrey for revealing he won a day before the show aired?

I thought he had told his buddies a few weeks ago when the floodgates opened with his supporters.

Too bad the saying about cheaters never wining doesn't always hold true.

Now that the infallible Tim Gunn has spoken, that should shut up all the naysayers.
Suck it! And suck it up!

Knew it.

I don't like Jeffery (I thought he was a complete asshole the entire time), but his collection was the strongest out of them all. Uli's was gorgeous, but it was all the SAME. Laura, I thought was a definite contester for the win and I was sad to see she didn't win. However, everyone has different tastes and I can see how her collection wasn't enough for the judges. Micheal... poor baby, you just took too big of a misstep. We'll see more of you, I know it.

Jeffery... the idea was wonderful. Japanese folklore has some wonderful ideas. And many of them were pulled off great. The dress I had an issue with was one the judges didn't like (the short, blue one. It made her look pudgy), but he was definitely fashion forward for the rest.

I really don't like you, but Jeffery... you deserved it. Enjoy.

I think that Laura should win for a couple of reasons:

* Continual expert workmanship

* Great designs that are wearable at the same time innovative

* She could get a company going and keep it going since she has the business and common sense

* Her Runway collection at Fashion week was exiciting and fun and fresh.

* Just on accounts..her comments slay me..

About the others: Uli..as Laura has been accused, Uli does the same thing over and over again..just look at the Getty Images

Michael..great guy, has potential..but his collection during Fashion week was really sameo...what happened to those fabulous sportsclothes he was doing.

Jeffrey...too far out there, already has a growing business, and not everyone in this world can be a so called Rock Star besides who would want to really wear those clothes...his collection on the runway wasn't all that fresh.

Anonymous said...

YAY! Thank you, Tim! If anyone is the voice of reason, it's you. I hope that the haters will actually listen to your words and realize what you're saying is true.

Anonymous said...

Lauras attitude sucked balls.

Uli is adorable and supertalented.

Jeffrey has a strong style and creativity.

So it's all good.

Anonymous said...

Tim Gunn,

I would say it exactly like you called it. Nobody can do it like Timspeak.
"Tim and the other designers crea*** their pants when they saw Jeffrey's collection. There is no greater respect than getting kudos for your fellow designers".(And coming from Tim is just cherry on the cake)

By the way, math wiz, how did I do if I placed $10 each on Jeffrey and Uli.

They are all winners. Marilinda has been just as fierce the whole season. She sold the couture and the trash outfits.

T&L, did you fabulousness wake up from your nightmare yet?

Anonymous said...

What "Tim" said was just what he said in the blog for the episode. I guess he helped me to understand a *bit* better... but I'm not quite happy with the decision yet.

Anonymous said...

Ok - I have one more thing to say: I'm disappointed because Jeffrey didn't play fair.

SPORTSMANSHIP and PROFESSIONALISM should count for something. He flouted the rules, he disrespected his teammates and he has a bad attitude.

Mark my words, the Jeffrey "WIN" will be PR's FIRST scandal. Let's think about what was REALLY on the line when Tim Gunn walked into the room to give his "exoneration" speech. First, that was Tim Gunn "speak". What was he going to say? "Oh, well, we aren't really sure if he cheated or not - so MAKE IT WORK” Of course not!

Tim's job was to put the "beyond a shadow of a doubt" spin on it. I'm not convinced that Jeffrey didn't cheat; I'm just convinced THEY couldn't prove it.

Really, what's with Jeffrey being Mr. Nice Guy all of a sudden? He practically eviscerated Darlene just because she didn't like the color of the dress and now we are to believe he is just going to suddenly adopt this copasetic attitude when allegations of this magnitude brought up? I doubt it.

Read between the lines people: 100,000 grand from Tresseme, a 50,000 automobile, and everything else from the other sponsors...the integrity of BRAVO and the SPONSORS is what was really on the line...

Apparently the Karma ATM was offline tonight…because Jeffrey certainly didn’t withdraw what he put in…

Ick. I was right. Jeffrey won. Dayum.

Life just ain't fair. If it were, Laura would not have bored me with half her collection; Michael would have shown some taste; and Uli would have stuck with her fabulous first four or five designs. She really surprised me.

Anonymous said...

Uli was robbed! I didn't even like her style during the show much but that collection rocked.

Tim choking up was awfully affecting, and the whole fatherly hug at the end (while supremely manipulative) was really moving.

I think the thing that was down played is that the winner gets a years mentorship with INC. As a corporate entity, INC is in this to find new blood and Jeffrey, whether by plan, serendipity, or his personal aesthetic, did a collection with a heavier nod toward separates. INC, as a brand, has more to gain with the separates concept of tops, bottoms, jackets accessories, etc. Mix and Match. Put this with that, sell more, more and more.

I can't say that the judges were instructed to keep this in mind but I feel like the idea of "pieces" in a collection indicates a broader range of ideas and concepts that they may have been looking for in the designers. Madame Kors alluded to this in his appraisal of Jeffreys show, all the different looks he showed that still related to his personal aesthetic.

A manufacturer can pick Jeffrey's collection apart like a Thanksgiving turkey and find things they can use with different fabrications and colors. You think there won't be zipper seaming on sportswear in 6 months? It's been done before but Jeffrey's genius was to use it like piping. The sheer one strap skirt will be re-worked so that it's palitable to suburban teenagers.

I loved all the collections and feel like they blew the first two seasons out of the water. The best final group of all 3 seasons. Michael could have won if he was up against the first two season's designers, but his competition this year was too strong. I really thought that Laura, Uli or Jeffrey could have won after seeing the shows. It was up in the air as runway shows are concerned.

Laura's show was tight as a virgin's....well, I won't go there, but her designs are so pure and specific to her, they can't be changed to suit the aesthetic of anyone but her.

Uli showed more range and her designs were beautiful. I really thought she would win, seeing them on the runway. But again it wasn't enough to fit in with a corporate design concept.

But I feel Jeffrey was the best in terms of innovation and scope and the ability to be adapted by corporate retail. Perhaps, with Jeffrey's rebellious nature, winning this and accepting the mentorship with a mind numbing corporate entity like INC, this may be the worst thing that could happen to him. I hope not because I liked him and thought of all of them, he was the one who I would feel the most interested in talking to. Me, an Old Auntie of 53, with nothing in common with him except a history in retail, but there it is!

But I have to admit, Uli was a real sweetheart tonight and what a dish her boyfriend is!! I want me some of that!

Oh my God, I touched a blog that Tim Gunn touched, someone hold me.

I am shocked at people whining, "Who would wear that!!" of Jeff's stuff! Lmao, you people are showing your age. Puh-leaze. I'm 19 years old and I am effin' DYING for some of his stuff to come out so I can buy, buy, buy. So sexy, so fresh. Loved that dress on Marilinda, loved the long blue gown the judges mysteriously trashed (it took so clearly from his "Japanese ghost story" inspiration!), loved it all... and so do ALL of my friends.

Jeffrey more than deserved it. Haters need to take their loser ball and go home. As Jeffrey would put it, "Who fucking cares what you think?" Man am I thrilled, I was so scared Uli was going to win! Love her stuff, but it does tend to be a lot of the same. At the same time, I do want to buy some of her stuff as well. I'm happy with the results.

Jeffrey's green stripped zipper dress looks like a straight jacket for a circus whore.
Who cares if he can sew a zipper as a trim...big whoop...oooh, how "innovative" and "rock" = total bull. His collection couldn’t show consistency if it was all put in an industrial blender on high speed.

Word to the youth who think he's so hip...he's just a rock stereotype cliché and there is nothing innovative or interesting about someone who uses "edgy" as a hoax for “style”. Fad has a limited life span and gets dated fast.

I think the judging was a farce, or at least I certainly hope it was because if they truly made that decision based on their consensus that his work was the “best” then that is a remarkably miserable example of everything that is wrong with the "fashion" industry's ideology of their own self importance.

It really pisses me off that I wasted my time watching the show thinking that some element of reason would evolve from it...all season the judges have been making dumbfoundingly awful decisions and so they ended right on key.

Good job Bravo of alienating your viewers. I'm seriously not watching this crap anymore.

I've gotta say, I saw the pics of the collections during fashion week, but seeing them on the runway really made all the difference. There were elements of Michaels collection that I didn't think were all that hoochie, but I can understand him not winning. Laura's collection was beautiful and beautifully done, but perhaps a bit boring. I really thought Uli would win based on her collection. It was gorgeous. They way Nina was talking, it appeared Uli was a sure bet. I liked Jeffrey's collection too. I just didn't think he'd win with it. And I have to say, I don't loathe Jeff as some of you seem to. Now Santino, there's someone to loathe. I never found anything redeeming about that man. Not one thing.

As far as Uli not winning, I believe it was Kara Saun who said, "sometimes coming in second is actually better" (I'm paraphrasing).

Many thanks to the PRGayboys for making this season of PR so much fun. Can't wait to do this again.

Excuse me, but zipper piping has been done for years. A friend of mine had a denim jacket with it in the early 80's, and I believe it was first done by Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1930's.

Margo, gotta agree with you on that about the zipper piping, though I'm not sure of the age myself. I remember having a jean jacket with it as well when I was a kid.

However, I've not seen it used much in a long time. I think that's why lots of people aren't familiar with it. I would love to see more of it, and with Jeffrey's win, I hope it will push for that. If nothing else, I'm sure as hell "stealing" the idea. I've been working on ideas since last week so I could use it. lol

Ouch!!! Uli was the clear winner, with Laura second. But Jeffrey - WTF??? His clothes have no commercial appeal whatsoever. I agree, JDD, it's clear that every election in this country is rigged. Like we trust the PR producers after Chloe's win.

Double Blow for Laura. She not only could not convince the judges about getting past her "patternmaker" signature, they all thought her collection was BORING. But we all knew that.

Bring on Season 4.

Just destroyed my Macy's card. Good luck working w/ Jeffrey, INC. Maybe when he hopes you have a stroke or says something cruel about your mother or screams at you because you're "amateurs" who aren't as talented as he is, you'll remember you brought this on yourself.
Laura, Michael, Uli; you're true competitors, winners; your design sensibilities are kind to women, not misogynistic anime images of little girls as sex objects and how Slash dressed 18 years ago. To all the posters who talked about JEFFREY'S real estate, DON'T WORRY , he and baby and ladylove will be able to buy a more spacious place, even though his own little cottage was fine by me. I congratulate the final 4 designers and their runways shows, but I still believe that Jeffrey aka Angry Little Peanut is a asshole and that other than the size 2 trashy 'celebs' who can wear his outfits, yet not have the money to pay for them will be his main clientèle. Uli was robbed and I've never been a big fan of her 'Varm Veather Vear', but her show and designs were fabulous. The one bikini outfit made me drop my jaw in awe and it made me want to be a size 2, so that I could wear it on St. Tropez. Laura's designs were amazing and Michael, yes, MY Michael has a long career in fashion. I just hope that he refines his 'vision' to what his strong point is: American Sportswear. I'm not sure if there has ever been an African-American sportswear designer, but Michael could be the one.

What a total waste of time, plugging in my eyeballs every Wednesday night when I could have been watching something real like Psychic Detectives.

Uli was the clear-cut winner, but hey, this is part of the Redemption Tour, aint it? Mel Gibson lead the way with: It was me, but it really wasn't me.

Then the Pope opened up limbo for the Limboneans to finally get to Heaven. And believe me, there was a passel of them streaming through the Universe.

Now we have Jeffrey, the anger-management poster child, showing us what a little leather and picnic table cloths can-do for the biker-chick turned kitchen-diva. His work is so disturbing and unflattering, exactly like his personality.

Last season I was totally endeared to Santino, Andrae, Daniel, Chloe and Nick. I cared about all these people and delighted in seeing them week after week, along with their work. I thought Daniel should have won, but I didn't decompensate when Chloe got the nod.

This season was a horse of a different color. The prodigal son ascended to the throne and the denizens of hades applauded for one of their own.

Obviously, the producers of Project Runway are spiking the punch with pure grain alcoholic drama... and calling it good. Not my type of commitment.

I'm not a reality show fan, just because they over-lubricate the editing with drama, lowlife attitudes. I thought Project Runway was above all this.

It's been a grueling season, horrific, mean and vicious. I won't get sucked in again next season.

I hope Jeffrey uses his money to find a good shrink.

something odd just occurred to me. the contrast between how the producers handled keith's offense, and Jeffrey's peccadillo. To me they were both grounds for removal. Why boot Keith out, but make an exception for Jeffrey who didn't stay within budget (even if the outsourcing couldn't be proved).

JEFFREY WON! Love it. All the sour grapes is just sad. He won fair and square. The guy has talent, they all did, but Jeffrey's collection was the most innovative. Say what you will about his personality, it doesn't matter, it's a DESIGN CONTEST which is what it should be...he won. I'm happy for him, although I loved Michael he seemed to get a little too-inspired by the video-fashion hoochie-inspired concepts for his final collection, but he'll grow and as we've seen with guidance Michael really breaks through, he needs a mature guiding hand, like Kors or Gunn. I love Michael so it made me sad that he didn't design a great collection; and the judges really gave him another chance to prove himself, after he hoochied-up the final challenge and they put four designers in the finale. He and Jeffrey got a second chance, Jeffrey took it seriously and ran with with. Michael did the best that he could, but he still needs a bit more growth to get into his design esthetic. STILL I'm Happy for Jeffrey ..hat's off to him on his success and to his lovely sweet family. Their baby is adorable. Most likely Michael will be on the red carper at the BET AWARDS, SOUL TRAIN AWARDS,ESSENCE AWARDS, he and Jeffrey will probably show up at the AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS...and MTV Awards, ULI too I can see designing for some of the hollywood starlets, I could have sworn one of JLO's last oufits on the red carpet was by ULI.....all of the designers will have a fabulous year and thriving careers. Laura's probably already shooting her "MORE" and "TOWN & COUNTRY Magazine covers.
