Look at those prints! Uli propinquity!

Uhh, yeah where is Nazri? Do I sense another little twist to this?

Anonymous said...

Are these really his? Surprising.

This is the biggest disappointment of all. He showed so much more during the competition...I hope that it is just that Getty Images is slow in getting his pictures up. At this point this looks like a design school graduation presentation by Michael, and even though he was not my favortie, I think he is more talented than this.

Anonymous said...

I love Michael, but these look more like the photos shown during his audition than anything he produced on the show.

Maybe Michael's not a lock for the win after all?

Anonymous said...

If you look at the photos from Wire Images, some of the rest of his collection look a little better. But I'm kind of disappointed as well.

katiecoo said...

Someone posted at BPR that he was at the show and people all around him were disappointed in Michael's collection. Am I the only one who thinks these dresses are way too much tootie?

Anonymous said...

I don't really like what I see so far. Kind of hoochie. And I hate to admit it but Alexandra does looks zaftig in that dress.

Anonymous said...

Innnnnteresting. There is no picture of Michael on the runway, like the other 3.

This really was a spoiler.

Anonymous said...

Some of his stuff looks like he was channeling Kayne. Not that that's a bad thing, just not what I expect from Michael. And also lots of prints like Uli.

Anonymous said...

Whats with all the belts? Where is Nazri? I'm confused? How did this happen?

Embeedubya said...

No Michael in the final three? Can that happen? He's shown having a slight meltdown in the preview video, and that usually means a win, like Laura this week. But why is Nazri modeling Uli's clothes? Model switheroo coming? I'm just (dare I say it?) on pins and needles!

Anonymous said...

Oh.

Not lovin'n on this collection, but maybe there is more to see in how it moves on the runway.

To my eye, some of the pieces looked a little...err...trashy. Too shiny, too printy, too many cut outs and odd boob-smothering designs.

Anonymous said...

Captain Save-a-ho, what happened? Looks like he was designing for Fredricks of Hollywood.

I'm convinvced this is not a final collection (i.e. decoy). There is simply not $10,000 worth of clothing up there.

Poor guy. He must have really flubbed the final challenge.

Anonymous said...

Michael is gonna win!!!

Anonymous said...

Not what I expected, and not as good as he did during the show. Nazri was Muse -like for him maybe losing her made him lose his mojo

sniff

Anonymous said...

i'm not digging that white lace-up number.

Anonymous said...

Oh Mikey.. I love you, but WTF?! Just take out the laces and belts, please??! :(

Baylor said...

Hmm... I like some of this. My gut reaction to some of it is that he's the hands-down winner. But then I get to the Low Rider Magazine stuff...

Michael, remember when you made sure Kayne changed his stuff because it looked too "working girl?" In the words of Tim, "I'm concerned."

Anonymous said...

Tacky. I'm really dissapointed in Mr. Dreamyface for making a, mostly, tasteless collection.

The Uli-Print-Dresses were nice, but that was about it.

Anonymous said...

No way. Hands down: a misstep.

Anonymous said...

I'm very disappointed, but hey, Chloe had a shitty draperies and upholstery collection and still won last season.
I love him, I want him to win.

Anonymous said...

I really don't understand how this works, to tell you the truth.

Did the designer that had been eliminated know it when they started designing their collection? And how long did they have to design all these looks? Is this the one where they go home for six months with $8,000 and Tim comes to visit them at their houses? For some reason I thought only the final 3 did that. I could be wrong. Or do they only show Tim visiting the final three? Is it an editing thing?

TLo said...

Hey guys, bitch about the show or the collections, but don't bitch about each other.

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who actually likes this? I think it is hot, chic, and very put together. Maybe not quite what I expected, but I love what I've seen so far. I'll be very disappointed if Michael isn't in the top 3.

Anonymous said...

ooo-lord.... i dont know about this collection...

michael has been my favorite all along. everything he made on the show was chic and gorgeous. but these dresses are not good. they look trashy. like blindingly trashy. im so worried for him. this is not at all what i expected.

Anonymous said...

I really expected Micheal to blow everyone else out of the water with his collection, but what in the world happened? None of the collections were really what I expected, but Micheal's looked trashy, not chic. And was the Uli print obsession contagious? And where were Laura's plunging necklines? Her winning dress was the inspiration for this whole show! Now I really can't wait to see next week's show!

Anonymous said...

I'm disapointed. He's not my favorite all around, but he's an amazing designer and I've been betting on him to win. Michael, what happened?

Unknown said...

I liked this collection the best, too. I felt like it was the only one that was complete.

Anonymous said...

ugh michael...what have you done?!
this all looks like some hooker clothing.
and that girl in the orange dress...total nipplage.

Anonymous said...

Sadly, it looks like Michael turns out to be this season's Daniel V. Maybe without Tim dropping by his work table, the young man lost control of his rudder.

Anonymous said...

so...was Beyonce in Crazy in Love his inspiration here? I love the fit on some of these (and gotta admit....Alexandra=zaftig for a model) but the color palate is tacky!!! So Solid gold!

These pieces would have really wowed me with a different color choice IMO.

Anonymous said...

That white swimsuit of his REALLY needed some more lining at the bottom.

Eek!

Poor girl, having to stomp out onstage with her toe on display like that.

I cringed at the pic of it.

And I LOVE Michael...I'm afraid for him. Not what I expected. At all.

Anonymous said...

after another look- I take it back.

I want to see these on tv and how they move before saying whether I like it or not. Some- like the orange dresses are growing on me. I LOVE the white pieces- except for the laced, belted thing.

It still looks like Crazy in Love, but I want to see it move!

Anonymous said...

Not liking this at all. Michael's been my favorite since the first episode (who the hell knew coffee filters could look like that), but this is just plain awful. And so not like him. Tsk tsk tsk.

Anonymous said...

Yawn. it looks like he bought material and two or three patterns and mixed them up a bit.

I'm very disappointed with the Uli halter tops and bondage bodices.

Damn, I expected more from him. Even Uli's collection is more interesting.

Oh, Michael, Michael, Michael...

I'm so disappointed. Throughout the challenges, Michael showed great awareness of the line between sexy and sleazy, and stayed on the right side of it. He floored me with the Pam Grier outfit.

But this? Everything is far too short and far too tight, and things like the front-lacing and oversized metallic belts on such scanty silhouettes just screams "Hoochie mama!" to me.

His fabric and color choices don't bother me--I actually like them. But in most cases the problem is that he didn't use enough fabric. Adding just a bit more ease and lengthening some hemlines would have made a huge difference.

I love Michael. I've been rooting for him all along. I think he has a great future as a designer ahead of him. But I don't see him winning PR with that collection, and I wouldn't want him to.

Gidget Bananas said...

That gold and black print Michael uses a lot is very Robert Cavalli, in fact, a lot of his dresses are Roberto Cavalli, which is not a bad thing for someone catering to a high-end hip-hop customer. His safari dresses (the ones with the laces and pockets on the boobies) are very, um, old Saint Laurent for real. Wonder if Nina will notice.

I wish he hadn't made all of his skirts so short, they're very hoochie. I wish he hadn't put Alexandra into that itty-bitty baby-doll dress, it makes her look huge. I wish he hadn't used some of that really shiny material -- it looks cheap, no?

Day-um, Michael, I had you picked as the hands-down winner. But I've been wrong about the judges reactions to different garments before, man have I been wrong.

Anonymous said...

Are all the models drag queens?

Neptune Vegas said...

I expected a lot more from Michael too. I'm kind of nervous that he might not take it all now. I think Laura did the best honestly.

Anonymous said...

This looks like clothing pulled for a Maxim shoot. .. except, not as classy. A pink satin romper with a laced neckline? Those swimsuits? Oh Michael, your collection is horrid.

Anonymous said...

Michael I love your collection, obviously people didn't pay attention to the work you presented on the audition, the clothes here are in line with what you have done...Good job. Damn those bathing suits were hot.

Looks like Uli stole Nazri

Anonymous said...

Oh my sweet Aunt Fay!! tsk, tsk!

I really like Michael, I really do, but this menagerie was a disaster. When I saw the gold lame` fembot swimsuit with the sequined zebra trim, I literally had to turn away from the screen.

OUCH!! It burns!

Oh Michael, we hardly knew ye.

Anonymous said...

:(

not a fan.

did you see the nip slip?

Anonymous said...

i actually really like this collection. there are some really good pieces here. will be intersting to see these actually moving down the runway.

Anonymous said...

Too hoochie!! what happened? He reverted to his audition portfolio. This SO does not work. I loved Laura's collection, though it seems she focused in on the 1 garment she won and made a whole collection of it.

Anonymous said...

Kind of Beyonce meets Fredrick's of Hollywood. Where is the taste level he showed all season?

Anonymous said...

WHAT HAPPENED???? This doesn't look like anything he did on the show....YIKES. HATE IT.

So I take it his new design house will be called Barbarella????

Anonymous said...

At first I was disappointed in Michael's showing but the more I look at it, the more I appreciate it. He has chosen to appeal to a specific market and I respect that. How might a guest judge from Baby Phat view his collection?

Anonymous said...

When Michael was in the workroom, Tim always mentored him to think about certain things. Michael always listened. But since he was on his own, making his collection, the area of mentorship is still, indeed, needed.

I feel that is why the only person that wanted him on the show was Chloe. His taste level has not matured yet until he works for another designer for experience.

Yes, I feel he is a very nice person, but it is different than being a great designer with business experience needed too.

Anonymous said...

Okay, there's a lot of debate about the final three, the swimsuit clue, etc....

I think Michael is the decoy. Let's face it, he would not give up Nazri. Which suggests he loses the next challenge and Nazri is therefore up for grabs to the winner of the challenge or simply thrown into the pool of models from which the final three could select.

Michael not showing his collection with Nazri seems to be the most telling clue of all, don't you think?

Anonymous said...

And the extra garment challenge for the final three was last years surprise (and pointless if you ask me) challenge.

I'm sure they have some other surprise this year, perhaps the surprise being that there is no surprise at all.

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who liked Michael's collection? It has a style to it. It's very sexy. I didn't get the swimsuits at all, but the rest was excellent and well-made. If you add all the clothes he's made from PR, you definitely see a range. It'll be between him and Jeffery. I'm rooting him to win.

katiecoo said...

I'm with some of the rest of you in saying I appreciate his collection more after looking at it again. A person there IN person said he was clearly the fan favorite at the tent. I REALLY hope he wins the Mr. Congeniality contest (aka Fan Favorite).

Anonymous said...

Regarding to the models, I basically think it was one of those challenges where the designers choose the model they want. Remember when Uli stole Nazri from Keith because "he had an advantage"? It's no question the same here. But I love Michael's collection. It's complete. It's sexy. It's a step-up from him. It has a style. And like KatieCoo said, it was a fan favorite at the event. Michael for the win all the way!

The Angry Black Man said...

I think Michael is the decoy, cuz how else would he get Clarissa or whateva her name was, one of the cast-off models. Uli won, took Nazri for the final challenge, an Michael had to pick a cast off.

The Enforcer said...

I give that collection two snaps up, a twist and a kiss!

Anonymous said...

What the hell happened?

This is sub-Baby Phat crap!

Anonymous said...

Uli is the decoy. She doesn't look as confident or as happy as the other three designers. I think she's definately the decoy this year.

Anonymous said...

What's up with the tasteless hoochie stuff? Is that orange dress really meant to show the model's nipple, or is that a "wardrobe malfunction?"

And that white bathing suit...

Cameltoe is not a preferred state, unless you're doing a photoshoot for Hustler.

Jeez.
Michael, baby, you've really let me down.

Anonymous said...

I love the collection. His collection is sexy and with an edge. I don't know what people are smoking. We know he has a range and can do other things.

Anonymous said...

Why are people allowing the issue with the model to trick them? I think the show threw in another twist. Whatever the twist is I don't like it. Especially if Michael wins. That means Nazri will not benefit from his win. I guess this is correct. I can't wait to see what the hell happened. Lawd I hope Michael is not the decoy. It just wouldn't make any sense.

Anonymous said...

The bathing suits are FIRE!! What are you people smoking? I think the problem is that people are expecting so much more since Michael has been very good all along. I see nothing wrong with his collection.

Anonymous said...

I agree! I love Michael's collection. Everything about it! If he doesn't win, I'll go friggin nutsss

Anonymous said...

I have to admit, I am not a fashion guru (live in Iowa)..but I just have to believe somehow, someway Michael is going to pull this out..way too talented not to.

Anonymous said...

Why is everyone freaking out about Michael's collection? It's fucking awesome, and it reflects his personality so well. It looks more geared to an "urban" demograph and I guess people in bumfuck, Iowa can't really comprehend color and style.

Anonymous said...

I hate it...really... and it's a sad thing, my saying that. I represent his market: young, urban, wired (ha!) blah blah Ultimately, I wouldn't buy a single piece. It does, very much, remind me of Beyonce...and I am not a fan of hers, as far as fashion goes.

Anonymous said...

My theory: he was paid to take a dive, like in some 40's boxing movie.

That's the only bit of drama the Bravo folks haven't dredged up yet.
