As a Jeffrey fan, I am thrilled by his collection. He branched out from his usual color choices, and he made a variety of styles, but he kept his RnR aesthetic.
I don't like Jeffrey, but I have to say that I liked his collection. He did the best job of being young and hip, and sticking to his POV while not being repetitive like Laura and Uli. Michael's is just a disappointment so far. Pains me to say, but I could see Jeff winning the whole thing.
Sweetie Darlings, Thanks so much for the pics. May I make one teensy request? Can you please put a warning that the short of Angry Little Peanut are not to be viewed on a full stomach?
It looks like the peanut's shell shrunk in the wash. It's either that or I missed the whole men in capris are "fashion-forward." Whatever *that* means.
I actually like Jeffrey's pieces more than I thought I would. I really love the skinny pants! However, it doesn't seem to be a very cohesive collection, does it?
I think you guys are letting your anger towards jeffrey cloud your judgement, his collection is quite good. I would definitely wear alot of those dresses in my everyday life.
I really liked this collection. I think it's different from what he normally does. I think he could be the winner based on his performance on the show and the growth he shows by this collection. Sad tho - I was rooting for Michael.
i was initially surprised and thought "damn, the boy did good." but on further viewing of the entire collection, there was just something off about it.
colors, combinations, just not quite right. the result was pretty unappealing, kind of like regurgitated food v. what was originally on the restaurant plate.
i do like that green and taupe striped dress, and i thought the skinny crunched-up-around-the-ankle britches were pretty cool, though surely uncomfortable as all get out. reminds me of the goat ropers and rednecks at rodeos: highly starched wranglers 8" too long, with the excess gathered up around the ankle. do you think jeffrey was going for the born-in-Oklahoma look?
that short dark blue dress was surprisingly reminiscent of his monstrous creation for angela's mother.
Hmmm. Props for pushing his personal envelope a bit, but I found this collection to be a bit boring. And in some cases, they appear to be unflattering.
Also, I don't know what makes a great collection, but this looked a little more mix-and-match than I expected.
Erg. I don't quite know what to make of this collection, except to say that I think it is definitely not one of the strongest. I dislike TALP, but I did expect a collection packed with unique style, not Urban Outfitters.
Fresh, young, hip, incredibly stylish and unique. It's not Matronly (Laura), Retro (Uli) or Hootchie (Michael). It's very "fashion forward". It stands out head and shoulders above the others. It's what the fasion world is looking for - a new talent, a new look.
"TALP" (errrrg!) is going to show that what counts is talent and vision.
He did the same thing Santino did: beautiful collection, strong POV, but not the one he held the whole time during the show.
I LOVED Santino's final collection, and thought it was win-worthy. Jeff's is beautiful and almost cohesive, two attributes that he was almost adamently opposed to for the whole run of the show.
And whoever called Michael's stuff "hoochie" needs to take a step back. To quote Laura, "I'M JUST TRYING TO PROTECT MY MAN!!"
I really wish that people would srart to give Jeffrey more credit. Sure, he is brash, but he is his own person. He does have alot of talent, and is able to add color, and different styles to what he shows. Unlike Laura, who suffers from black and white vision
I have yet to be truly impressed by Jeffrey. He's talented, yes, but not nearly enough so to warrant the horrible fucking attitude he sports.
While I grant that this collection isn't bad -- much better, by and large, than most of what he's put out -- it is pretty clear that he is still basically clueless when it comes to proportion. Just look at how he dressed himself!
Jeffrey, sweetheart, douchebag. From one short guy to another: never -- NEVER -- wear 3/4 length pants. It goes right up there next to "tatooing one's neck" on the list of things that make you look as 'hardcore rocker' as the drummer's retarded half-brother.
These are remarkably goregous (er, barring the red+white polkadot asymterical jazz he had opening up). He really challenged himself with his collection and, I gotta say, some of these are my favorites from any final four showing yet. And man, boy can make some fine pants. For me it's going to come down between him and Uli.
I liked some of the clothes he showed on PR and this collection mystifies me. I wonder if his buddy Santino "helped" him out cuz babydoll dresses do not seem like Jeff's style. Not sure that Santino is the best person to emulate if you are trying to win. If you just want the exposure, then really bring your own aesthetic, which he obviously didn't do, based upon Cosa Nostra.
I think its the best collection out of the top 4. Him and Uli did the best. Laura's is just plain boring and ugly.. and Michael dissapointed me. He was my favorite going into the final but his collection just doesn't work.
It's not about what Jeffrey wears, but what he sends down the runway. Though I would love to see him in that black suit with the high white collar that's in the PR promo spots. It kind of cleans him up.
I think he hit it big with several looks and his missteps weren't anything I really hated. The red dotted dress was what Uli should have aspired to if she wanted to go forward with the hippy party look. Putting the sheer white over the polka dot was a wonderful idea. The green and silver stripes and the bi color bias striped dress. All forward looking but would easily find a place in INC's product line.
The navy dress was off, a really clumsy neckline. And the swimsuit with the strings hanging was just odd.
Off topic, I just read a pretty lousy review for Catherine Malandrino's show in the New York Times. Derivative of Claude Montana and YSL and out of touch with what women wear nowadays. I guess no one's immune to a bad review!
Jeffrey: 2 pages of photos Uli: 3 pages of photos Laura: 4 pages of photos Michael: 9 pages of photos
Not to be an anal-retentive Virgo here, but I had to check this out. The 9 pages of MK photos include the MK who played on the Brady Bunch as well as other Michael Knights. And the Laura Bennett pages included an LB who was in a bike race.
And, no, I'm not just sayin' this because I like Jeffrey. I'm a Virgo, not an architect.
wow.. i have to say. i really like this collection except for 1 of the clothes. but so far after looking through michaels laura's uli's jeff seems to to be winner.
If you guys don't like Jeffrey's personality, don't let that cloud your view of his designs. This is an amazing collection. He stayed true to himself, which is apparent, and he cleaned his designs up a bit, just as the judges asked. I think it's fabulous. Jeffrey FTW!
I think the fit on Michael's clothes was better, but I ADORE the color palate on these (the green and white stripe is too cute!).
This collection doesn't wow me to be honest- he DID do a Santino where I feel like we totally lost the point of view that made that fierce couture-like gown. These are like, polo clothes all of a sudden. Not bad, just not that exciting to me.
All said, I can't pick a winner here. I'm not a huge fan of any of these collections...
i don't know... it pains me to say this - cause im a big michael fan and i cant stand jeffrey - but jeff's collection is among the strongest. hes got a cohesive pallette. fashion forward twists. and most of this is in step with other collections ive seen this week from other designers.
but maybe im just surprised cause i expected much much worse from him.
either way, i think he's got a good chance of winning.
laura's collection is still my favorite overall... (but i do think the swimsuit thing is a sign.)
I actualy expected more from Jeffrey. I think his collection is somewhat interesting, but colors and textures are kinda creepy and the whole thing seems unfocussed. I don't think it's his best work at all. Pity; I think he could do better.
Very much Jeffrey. A couple things better than what presented on the show. Taking cues from Alison, and from Uli. Liked a couple of the frocks, though not wowed.
Love the colors. Cute stuff but not win worthy. That red asymetrical pocket dress and one of the low neck gowns seem to have a Vincent-like inspiration.
Question please- is the "decoy" collection designed by that designer, or by a Bravo/PR team and or ghost designer?
I love this show with my whole pathetic heart and I'm aware that Jeffrey might not have won the popularity vote, but his collection is by far the best one here and as much as I hate to say it, it would be a crime if he doesn't win. His clothes actually have vision, humor, nuance and poetry. Everyone here made great clothes, but he was the only one who elevated it to an art. In terms of his concept and spirit, his collection is breathtaking.
I heard his collection was inspiried by Meiji-era Japanese woodblock prints, especially a book called Spirits and Ghosts, or something like that. Things don't have to be matchy-matchy to be cohesive.
I thought it was great, and it had great styling. It does look retro, but look in a fashion magazine. That's a majority of what's around. Marc Jacobs fall show was very 90s.
I think the man has made his career based on the baby doll dress with the red dotted skirt and sheer white overlay. What hollywood starlet is NOT going to want to wear his clothes based on that dress.
After looking at each designer's collection, I have to say that Jeffrey's was the least flattering to the female form. Several of his dresses were torso-shortening/hence widening (i.e., the navy dress). Even his deep-V dress has weird breast-inflating look (and wide shoulder). Did someone say he picked up on an Alison cue? That would be to make his models look "plus size." I guess I'd prefer the Michael "hoochie look" to making the female form look like rectangles and triangles. (Sorry -- just didn't see the innovation.)
I think the record needs to be set straight ... Jeffrey's pants are neither "capri" nor "peddle pushers". They are clam diggers. I know because, as a boy in the early 60's (yes, i'm an old fart), my mother bought me a pair, although mine were in white and didn't have a skull on them. On the other hand, they were, eventually, accented with some lovely grass stains on the knees and arse. (Mom was fashion forward? Who knew?)
As for the collections, at this point, I don't feel that any one designer hit a home run, nor did any one blow it. I'm going to reserve my judgement until I can see the models work the outfits on the runway. As I learned watching the Paris-to-New York episode, the model and her walk is a very important component of the design's total look.
As usual, I liked some parts of peanut's collection (green stripes are gorge) but the overall effect is meh. I hate that unflattering silhouette of the tiny bust-big babydoll thing. and what's with the low-waisted pants with the pink shrug? last year's last year's last year. poseur.
Honesty without compassion spells ASSHOLE
If you don't want people to be that honest with you, don't be that honest with them, dickneck.
Jeffery's collection, other than his final piece, is awful. I appreciate what he was trying to do and holding himself back.....but that just shows that he can't do anything beyond rock-and-roll successfully. And his collection didn't have any sort of consistency or story to it all.
I think Laura hit it out of the park, even though I love Michael. I think the final three are Laura, Jeffrey,Michael. Uli is still making the same dress, why can't she make another style, she should have been kicked off weeks ago. At least Kayne experimented, Uli does the same thing over and over again.
Just viewed the collections. Objectively, I think Jeffrey (the little snot) may have actually WON. He showed the most progression in his collection from the beggining of the Project Runway Season to Fashion Week. Hate to say it but I think he may have pulled off another win. I actually think it was between Jeffrey and Michael in the end, they pushed it a little more than Laura, but Laura's collection was exquisite, but I'm not sure that's what the judges want. Jeffrey seems the most fashion forward and he sews well. Oh well all three were so talented. Uli is disappointing, making one dress over and over again. Sick of her one dress.
jeffrey is the only one (I THINK??) with a photo in the W-VIP room, does that mean anything? Were the other designers pictured in there, I'm just not sure??
For like, enormous, hi-res shots of fashion week (without the distracting "gettyimages" watermark) you can go to: http://www.sparklies.org/gallery/index.php?cat=105
too bad jeffrey didn't dress him self up. what the hell did he have on? i know he has a certain style but damn. the challenge he won when he wore the outfit would have suffice.
nicole, thanks for the link. Those huge pictures showed the flaws in Jeffrey's construction. The stripes on his green and red striped dress don't match up at the seam. The blue grey dress with the half circles at the bust aren't on the same level. The blue and silver halter has puckered seams on the silver halter straps and you can actually see the model's panty because it's cut so high!!!!! Talk about too much tootie.
embeedubya is right. This is a total Santino redux from the unexpected girliness to the poor construction.
I like the straight legs...those are great, but they almost looks like he's wearing them. I guess because he wore that style so much on the show...it's crazy. Anyway, I think the striped dress looks a bit like Chloe's designs from last season. And, the long dress, the blue dress, looks like a more controlled Uli design. I like it better than Michael's and Laura's, though.

Santino flashback!
you have to admit, the dresses are quite pretty. not what i would have expected from jeff.
every bit as bad as I expected...
must be taking cues from Alison. those dresses make his models look 'plus' size.
Again, are these Asshole's designs? Again....surprising.
As a Jeffrey fan, I am thrilled by his collection. He branched out from his usual color choices, and he made a variety of styles, but he kept his RnR aesthetic.
Go, Jeffrey!
I don't like Jeffrey, but I have to say that I liked his collection. He did the best job of being young and hip, and sticking to his POV while not being repetitive like Laura and Uli. Michael's is just a disappointment so far. Pains me to say, but I could see Jeff winning the whole thing.

Love you and your site.
Very different...BUT some of them are quite unflattering on the models. I thought one of them was a maternity dress!
Love, love, LOVED it. Hate him all you want, and spew your bilious, offensive comments. He's gonna win. He's awesomely talented.
I actually like Jeffrey's pieces more than I thought I would. I really love the skinny pants! However, it doesn't seem to be a very cohesive collection, does it?

Right on. ^^^
(And the puerile name calling is way OLD)
I really liked this collection. I think it's different from what he normally does. I think he could be the winner based on his performance on the show and the growth he shows by this collection. Sad tho - I was rooting for Michael.
Outstanding.
Surprisingly pretty! If I were 20 years younger and wafer-thin I might wear some.
i was initially surprised and thought "damn, the boy did good." but on further viewing of the entire collection, there was just something off about it.

OK, I can NOT tell which one is the decoy collection. So kudos to whoever it was. All four of them look polished.
I really wish that people would srart to give Jeffrey more credit. Sure, he is brash, but he is his own person. He does have alot of talent, and is able to add color, and different styles to what he shows. Unlike Laura, who suffers from black and white vision

Brian
The belts, the lace-ups, the butt-snug hot pants .... it's like Barbarella goes hip-hop.
Definitely "hootchie".
I have to say that it is pretty much what I expecte. Not so sure...
Hey guys, bitch about the show or the collections, but don't bitch about each other.

Asymetrical skirt hems - meh.

I don't like Jeffrey personally. I did like the polka dot babydoll dress and the green/taupe striped dress, but the rest....UGH!
If you look on the second page, the model wearing the dress with the silver shrug looks like she's about to hurl.
I got kinda queasy myself.
Some hits, some misses, mostly misses from my POV.
After looking at each designer's collection, I have to say that Jeffrey's was the least flattering to the female form. BOOOOOOORING! Looks like Mr. Penis-Head spent half his time ripping off Santino and the other half ripping off Uli, of all people. Next!
In my opinion, everything looks cheap. I mean, they're pretty outfits, but not Fashion Week-worthy.
I think the record needs to be set straight ...
Jeffrey's pants are neither "capri" nor "peddle pushers". They are clam diggers.
