Christian was honored at a private cocktail party at The Library at Buddakan in New York City last night. Check it:

With Jay Manuel

With SissyBear

With his BF Brad Walsh and friends.

With Marcia

PR Executive Producers Desiree Gruber and Jane Cha

Amanda and Marcia

Also, from New York Mag:

Heidi Klum to Wear Christian Siriano on German TV

"Last week we learned Project Runway winner Christian Siriano fit Heidi Klum for some outfits. We figured she did it just so she could be a goody-two-shoes hostess and say she supports her winners. In the past she's been fitted for — and not worn — Project Runway winners' designs (cough, cough Jay McCarroll). So we did a little digging to find out if this was a setup for another fit and ditch. Klum's rep assured us it's not. So where will Klum don these outfits of whimsy? The faraway magical land of Germany, of course! She'll be all Christianed out while hosting Germany's Next Top Model."

Gosh, I LOVE that SissyBear! I so totally wish he was my friend.

I love how Christian is striking the same, identical pose in every picture ("this is my FEERS! side!").

interesting that heidi will wear Christian gear on german tv. hmmmm...

Christian really has been swooned over and snapped up EVERYWHERE, hasn't he? there has never been this kind of glam furore over any other PR winner, has there?

Brooklyn Bomber said...

Christian was honored ? For what? There's something cuckoo about honoring somebody before they've actually done anything.

Anonymous said...

Oh, Christian, call Paris Hilton, she wants her facial angle back. Or at least Tyra Banks, cause if he doesn't want to smile and be natural he needs to master the "wide open and squinty eyes" full-on face thing that Tyra keeps telling the ANTM girls to do. "See, like this, or this, or this, and this, but not THIS..."

Even if you were joking, PPS, in a few months nobody will know you were joking and you could be the joke when the pictures get glommed together.

Love ya, MWAH!

Anonymous said...

Poor Christian is looking a little shell-shocked there.

Frankly, can't quite picture Heidi all Christianed out, but I'm looking forward to seeing it!

PP's so cute, but the princess really only has one pose in her repertoire doesn't she?

Anonymous said...

Christian needs to learn not to ALWAYS pose, certainly not in the exact same pose. Or learn how to post "naturally."

Anonymous said...

PPS looks bored and "over it" at his own cocktail reception.

He's still the best though.

Anonymous said...

I had the same thoughts looking at those pictures -- he uses the same facial angle and expression so often, it looks like he sent someone else to attend the party in his stead, and then photoshopped his face onto the body. :)

It's true! I've just realized that the child never looks at the camera face on, but always strikes a pose. What an ass. Get over yourself, kiddo.

Anonymous said...

Christian and his boyfriend are posing the same way AND have mirror-image face bangs!

Love it.

Brooklyn Bomber said...

Actually, it's not exactly the same pose every time.
Sometimes he's facing left.
And sometimes he's facing right.

Jane said...

Saying that Christian is striking the same pose in every shot is like saying Blue Steel and Magnum are the same pose. But they're so totally not. Each one has a different nuance and power.

igotmoxie said...

Is Christian the next Mariah Carey- never letting the left side of his face see the light of the flash?

Anonymous said...

Jane, thank you, I needed that laugh.

Anonymous said...

YEAH, he should pose like Chris, because Chris is the best, Chris is unique, he changes his pose in every picture, he's the best, I want to lick him "from head to toe."

JEEEZ!!!

Anonymous said...

Okay bitches, he is NOT striking the same pose in every picture. As Jane said, there are some very minute, detailed nuances between each pose. If you can't understand that, well... you're just not fierce.

Anonymous said...

Christian better watch out before he becomes over exposed. I am already getting tired of the Xtian love fest. PPS should take a break and work on a Spring line for Fall Fashion Week. He is in a position, more so than any previous winner, to parlay his win towards continuous success. Otherwise, he will drift away to land of forgotten fame whores.

Stubenville said...

So Mrs. Seal is going to wear a Christian? Hmmm... is she opting for a Q-Tip (skinny pants and frou frou on top) or cotton balls (frou frou all over)?

And a side note to Princess Puffysleeves himself - didn't your Mother warn you? If you keep making that face, it's going to get stuck that way!

YvesPaul said...

If I have to see the right side of his face one more time, I swear...

Mom said...

All he's doing is branding himself with an image that is simple, identical and unique. OK, not so much unique because his face looks exactly like Posh but with different hair framing it, but it's a concept similar to Karl Lagerfeld's. You're never going to look at a picture of KL and go, "Is that Karl because I don't ever remember seeing him smile?"

Actually I'm thinking of branding myself. I'm going to start appearing everywhere -- the supermarket, my son's school, the gas station, you name it -- wearing skinny jeans, sky-high heels, my bathrobe trimmed in human hair and done up with pale goth makeup. No one will mistake me for a PTA president, dammit.

Brian said...

Wow, so many haters. Congratulations to Christian on the party and on the exposure he'll be getting on GNTM.

Was part of the PR prize package more media exposure? I seem to recall that the list of winnings was a little different from previous years'.

PPS, I hope you're getting some work done in between all of this partying. ;o)

Please, for the love of Gunn, make the posing STOP! No 21-year-old should be that enamored of his own 'good side.'

Ms Christian, she is always striking a pose. It's funny.

Also, how tall is she? Like 4'10"? She is so much shorter than everyone! She needs to borrow some of Prince's high heels. Way to go Princess.

I read on AfterElton.com that Christian is going to be an Access Hollywood guest red carpet correspondent at the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards.

I'm kinda curious to see him and Jack Black interact.

Hahahahaha! Snort!
The other thing I noticed at the Finale party, and you can see it here, is he needs to kind of lighten up on the makeup. It was full stage strength at the finale party, which I understood b/c he was in the glare of the lights all night. But for this party? It's just looking overdone.

Still, props to the kid for taking the prize and working it. To death, perhaps, but he's working it! And I do wish him well. I hope in 20 years we'll be reading about how he's being honored with a retrospective at the Costume Institute.

Alas, I am doomed to non-fierceness. Actually, PPS reminds me of nothing so much as Paris Hilton, who generally strikes the same dislocated-hip pose whenever she's photographed.

Anonymous said...

Argh....I'm already tired of seeing Christian posing all over the place. The pictures of him candidly smiling and looking like he's enjoying the moment are the ones I like to see.

Anonymous said...

Somebody go grab and burn Desiree's jacket, pleeeeeze!

Lynette - I agree with you -- Christian probably doesn't admit he reads this blog but his sister does -- I wish she would clue him in on how much BETTER lookin he is when he is not posing. I hope he is enjoying his fame!

Anonymous said...

Is that a cardboard cutout or is it Christian?

Anonymous said...

There is a fine line between branding oneself and becoming a caricature and I'm afraid little princess is sliding dangerously close to stepping over that line.

Seriously. Can we talk about the models? Can we be happy for him? He's a kid, a very talented kid who is just enjoying his success. He already said (and Tim too) that he is presenting a collection in September. Lighten up, guys!

Anonymous said...

Okay--
PPS looks like he wants everyone to see only the hair.

Poor Jay M, he looks relaxed and PPS ruined a good pic by looking like a posed Barbie doll, again, & again, & again.

No hate-- just it seems a bit young to make a cartoon out of yourself.

Lenora said...

You know, lots of people complained that Jay wasn't doing anything, not living up to his potential. Now Christian's getting crap for doing the opposite. At least he's out there hustling, making the most of his win. I do agree that he needs to figure out a way to look a little more candid! You're 21, kid, lighten up!

Tell 'em, jane! You are awesome. And not only that, but I can tell from your post that you, too, exude the fierceness that embodies Christian.

On another note, I personally LOVED the photos and look forward to seeing more of what our dear, "little skinny armed twit"
is up to. Oh, and I, too flove the poses.

Sorry, I cannot make this entry entirely about PPS. I have to interject that I absolutely adore Jay Manuel.
Ok..that done, PPS is walking on the thin ice of overexposure. I really hope it doesn't happen. Does he have a sleazy publicity agent who might be steering him down the aisle of oblivion?? I really hope not!!!!

Sharon said...

I am not fierce enough to see any differences in Princess's poses. :(

That said, learn something dramatic and different, darlin'. You look kind if silly, pouting like that at the camera every time.

Rainwood said...

I agree with the Anon posting that there is a fine line between branding yourself and caricature. He hasn't crossed it yet, but he's definitely tiptoeing near the edge.

I'm also not sure what brand he is trying to create for himself. If he wants to do avant-garde couture as he previously said, doing red carpet commentary for the Nickelodeon awards probably isn't the way to go. If he decides to go young and do mass market then maybe it's the right move. His press needs to match the brand he's trying to create.

Be happy for someone who's traversing the very evil media whore machine and is still having a good time. How many young, talented, gay icons are there in the general culture consciousness? Why not root for him and hope they don't eat him alive? I'm staying positive & on his side in case the machine decides he's had enough joy and turns on him.

You don't think that the poses were chosen from all of the pictures on purpose do you?

Or, that is the sort of pose he is known for - a little famous for even. People want a picture of him looking "fierce." It's a memento.

Anonymous said...

Back in the 70's I worked in the advertising department of a department store in Pittsburgh and one day Oscar de la Renta did a personal appearance in Fragrances.

When he was done with the meet and greet, the copywriter and the ad designer who worked on his promotion went to meet him and chat. They called me in my cubicle to bring our department B&W Polaroid camera out to the floor so they could get their picture with him.

So I go out and meet Oscar which was thrilling and nerve wracking and got them all posed for the pictures and took a couple.

When the pics were developed, I peeled away the Polaroid from the negative (That's how they worked in the old days) and looked at the picture.

There was Oscar smiling away looking like every single publicity photo I'd ever seen of him! It was like I was Scavullo or something! The funny thing was you didn't notice "the pose" when he was standing there waiting for the picture to be taken. He just looked like a normal guy, although very handsome. But when I saw that picture he was suddenly "OSCAR!!"

I think these people have some kind of innate sense of how to look for the camera. Christian's is definitely OTT and studied but I can see him developing his natural "look" over time.

To be fair, we probably all cop our own signature variation of 'Blue Steel', in the privacy of our bathrooms.

The only thing Christian can be faulted for is the fact that he performs a bathroom-function in public. Incessantly. Monotonously. Unrelievedly.

whoa, kiddies!
there's a strange christian-defensiveness in comments that seems....unwarranted? maybe?

no one is ripping the boy to pieces. I personally LIKE christian, a lot. but that doesn't mean i can't laugh a little at his I'm Feers! Pose! (patent pending). I haven't read any comments here that are particularly nasty about Christian (not for this post, anyway), but still the chorus comes out saying "lighten up!"
(cut to Santino singing "lighten up, it's just FAAAAAAAAaashion!").

I, for one, can love and be critical at the same time. i suspect many of the other brilliant, fabulous, witty commenters here can as well.

lighten up! it's just FASHION!

Anonymous said...

lol do you suppose that Christian thinks his right side is a 'good side' for pictures? I can't tell...:P

Anonymous said...

1. Thank goodness I'm not the only one, frankly. Love him, but sigh ... I'm kinda over the posing. And no hate: He is clearly talented, but methinks he needs a few years of maturin' to do.

2. As a member of the media, please -- the "evil media" crap is old. You don't like it? Don't pay attention, K?

3. LOOOVE the anecdote about Oscar in Pittsburgh. I'm a former 'Burgh girl myself (are you ever really "former"?) and just found it lovely. Here's hoping our Christian is just finding his natural look.

Anonymous said...

"Let's post some of your mugs up here so we can open up for audience comments and ridicule!"

What you fail to recognize is that the commentors here are not picking on Christian's looks (that would be boorish). They're mocking his absurd & vain behavior (always in good taste to ridicule).

Ms. Gooch - I saw him and thought, "Oh, look. He wants to be Posh Spice!"

I think he's adorable. But cuter when he smiles. Knock off the pinched face look, Christian...you look pissed, not fierce.

PS...getting tired of fierce. Sooooo tiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeedddd....

Aww, it's so cute how they made a cardboard cut out of Christian to carry around.

I kid, I kid.

Anonymous said...

A quick search on Getty Images will show you that the "pose" is pretty pervasive, not a total result of picking and choosing (especially for the photos from this cocktail party). That said, I wish he'd realize that that wide grin he's let sneak out at a couple of other events is terribly endearing. He's so young--why does he want to pose like an aging pop star who only has their pose left?

GothamTomato said...

I'm starting to wonder if Princess was cloned in one of the challenges, and I missed it. There cannot be just one of him.

As for Heidi wearing his clothes, let's just hope she treats him better than she treated Jay.

You can really tell that she is so young and impressionable. Now she thinks that this pose is "cool" and she is trying to emulate Posh. One day she will realize that she was just copying others and maybe then will come up with his own personal style.

NahnCee said...

I would have thought Jay Manuel could give him a few pointers on different pose techniques since he's Tyra's snitch on who does well in front of the cameras. They make such a divine couple, both so fabulous together in an ebony and ivory sort of way.

Anonymous said...

I'm very happy for him. People criticized Jay for doing "nothing" and now Christian for doing apparently "everything". Go figure!

Anonymous said...

Wow, Christian is totally channeling his best Posh Beckham with his poses. I think Christian is going to be the most successful PR winner to date. He just seems to have that rare combination of talent and personality that will do him quite well in the fashion industry. He seems to know how to work a room with the best of them, from what I can tell, unlike Jay or Jeffrey, who always seem to rub people the wrong way. And Chloe just seems to be content in her own little QVC world and Houston.

Pam said...

I'm worried about his neck. Whiplash?

Seriously, though, I think he's just messing with us--enjoying what I hope will be more than 15 minutes of fame.

I hope he settles into being a celebrity who's about what he does more than about who he is. He's got my hopes up for that...but I was all optimistic during the last couple presidential elections as well, so I'm trying to talk myself down.

Anonymous said...

Let's see ...
Prince has been a major force in the American Pop Music scene for just about 30 years now as a singer, songwriter, record producer, & musician.

Christian won a reality show.

Christian may be all *that* but let's not confuse potential with actual performance.
