I'd have to say that I like Serge. In the design business, younger designers seem to have a stronger design aesthetic that make them more noticeable.

As bad as Todd was, I will him this season!

I was wondering when TD2 was going to burble up, so thanks for the heads' up.

Hmm, just from your click-on photos, interior designers dress far more conventionally (read: Dress for Success appropriately for their profession) than PR and TC competitors - nary a faux/mohawk among them!

Are we suffering from a surfeit of reality competitions, though? Bravo seems to be hurling an awful lot at us, but then again, the Fall Season (if it even still exists) is about to start....

All the best,

NDC

Ondine?!! You can never have too many mythological water nymphs amongst your contestants.

OHMYGOD Preston is so fucking hot!!!

Kelly Wearstler and Margaret Russell are back??? That's all I needed to hear. I CAN'T wait for Kelly's outfits... the bride of frankenstein will live again!

Preston is HOT HOT HOT...and Kelly is back!!!! That's all I need, folks.
One question: What's Serge on and where can I get some?

Sorry to be off-topic, but:

I want Dames and Divas death match final totals, guys! Is it posted somewhere I can't find it?

I'm definitely watch it. I love interior designing.

Let's hope that the elves will be able to revamp this little snoozer this time around.

The one thing I did like about this show was that Kelli and Margaret would diagree regularly and those conversations were extrememly interesting (as well as fun as hell)!

I was worried Todd wasn't going be on at all. Thanks goodness. He was a little stiff to carry the hosting role, but seemed really sweet with the contestants.

Well, I for one was hoping that this show had been kicked to the curb. The first season was a snooze-fest, and this one (based on the previews) doesn't look much better. I'm seriously concerned about Bravo. Where are all the new shows, or even the new shows made from the recycled bits of previous shows?

I'm just psyched to hear Jonathan Adler say "see ya later, decorator" again. I know a lot of people hate that phrase, but not me!

Preston's a cutie, but in his interview, it looks like his boob is going to pop out of his sweater. Foundation garments are for everyone, dear.

Well, Design Star has gone steadily downhill, so perhaps this show will no longer suffer by comparison. And it sounds like perhaps they've learned their lesson about the little white boxes.

I'm just delighted to have Margaret Russell back. She reminds me of Lee Meriwether as Catwoman -- that sweet little smile can't disguise the skill with the claws.

Holy smokes this appears to be a talented crew. let's hope it isn't squandered by idiot "decorate a box" challenges...

I think it's so interesting that 90% of these contestants are far better dressed than those on this season's Project Runway. Weird, no?

anyone notice that "big daddy" wasn't featured in that commercial? hmmmm

well i know who's *not* cute

I am really happy they decided to try a second season of this show. There was enough enjoyable about it that it deserves another chance.

hahahah i so thought india hicks was the tranny from india from my life on the d-list. they look a like no?

todd should be judge, not a host.

Kelli and Margaret are back? I can't wait. Love that dynamic diva duo. Perhaps TLo could repost some of Kelli's more....interesting... outfits and hairstyles. I don't care who wins Top Design, I only want to see if Kelli can top herself.

What happened there w/ Serge? Tried really hard to start out his bio as a beat poet, but then got off track.

They sure have a wide variety, from Miss Georgia 3-shirts just starting life to those who seem so successful that winning would be a step down.

sounds like it has potential...i too hope that they have better spaces than those awful boxes they did last year. any way, some of the contestants sound like they have some good credentials; some are just characters. some of them don't seem to have much experience in the interior design field - there is culinary arts, music industry, architecture, set decoration... these may or may not translate into a good interior designer. (although some of the more successful designers from last year were an architect - andrea - & a set designer - carissa.) it's interesting that one of the designers indicated a primary business is "high end clients" which may mean a struggle when faced with low end budgets (remember Matt last year? even though he won, he was pretty arrogant about working in a lower end genre than he was accustomed to).

of course the best part of this show is going to be the great commentary from our very own TLO...can't wait!

One of the contestants is married to Rick Schroder? That cracks me up!

My word Preston's pretty. Not exactly an enthralling speaker, but I don't imagine it's his words most of us want to be hanging off.

He needs to be reintroduced to a little bit of Australia...

I just can't muster up the interest to read about the designers at this point. I'll wait to see if the Elves manage to invest some of their magic first. Switching Todd to mentor rather than host is a promising first step though. He seems like a nice guy but has all the screen presence of lint.

am i the only one who finds preston very unattractive? he looks like he worships the mirror more than anything else.

My money is on Eddie to Win and Andrea to be the runner-up...

Whatever happened to names like "Mary" and "John"? I need a pronunciation card just for the names alone (and this goes for PR, Shear Genius, Top Chef etc.)

I don't know if I can handle another season of this. Last season was such a snorefest. But I will give it a try...

I'll be watching, if for no other reason than to see what sort of ridiculousness Kelly Wearstler has on. Oh, and to see her catfight with Margaret. Delicious!

based on their outfits i would hire andrea ondine or wizit

WHOO! Preston-flavored GuyCandy. Though he's got a funny titscrepancy throughout his interview vid... his leaning pulls one pectoral taut, the other goes slack. TITSCREPANCY.

I hated, hated, hated this show last year. It has a good premise but they totally screwed it up by how they had the challenges and the judges they used. So I was not planning to watch this year but if you are reviewing it I will try again. But if they say "See you Later Decorator" I am turning off the whow for good.

oh, god. we have to watch this show again?
