Heidi Klum in UK InStyle August 2008

Heidi Klum featured in the August 2008 issue of UK InStyle magazine. We think she looks stunning.

"There's something odd when you're 35 or 40 and ironed to the max. You change with time, and its fine. Everywhere there are these stand-up cards saying, `Have a little silicone while you get your roots done.' I want to be the opposite of that."

That's nice and all, but is she saying she doesn't have any silicone in her body, or that she just isn't getting any more?

Great words to live by when you are able to be airbrushed in most every photo taken of you.

Wow! She looks fantastic!

Those models look incredibly frightening. Why on earth would the designers want zombies modeling your clothing?

Those poor girls. They look completely miserable. And I hope their hair looks like that because the stylist didn't show up. The idea that someone would be paid to make a girl look as though she hadn't combed her hair in weeks is appalling.

Now, honestly, would you rather buy a dress that makes you as happy as Heidi looks, or as pathetic and downtrodden as those models look?

Heidi looks great, those models? Scary! And I know, it's not their fault, they tell them to look that miserable, but why?

She would much rather be airbrushed within an inch of her life - is that what she means?
Let's see what she says when she's 50 and no one is clamoring to take her picture anymore.

Heidi is looking fantastic these days. Heidi, darling, keep the gay.

OK, Heidi, beautiful as always. Magic Genes.

The bigger news is a Stella McCartney dress that isn't butt-ugly! Pass the smelling salts!

Although the Stella dress does look more fitted on Heidi than the model. It looks like a bag on the model and quite pretty on our Miss K. Does she have it pulled back with clips or something?

Gosh, how easy it is to prefer the natural look when you look like fraulein Heidi.

While I think I might get what she's talking about-- look at the acrtesses in their 30's who have already had facelifts and look like The Joker. Still, no one with any brains wants to be lectured on looks by someone whose range of expertise amounts to nothing more than hitting the genetic lottery.

I don't totally get what Heidi is talking about. Is Heidi 100% silicone-free, botox-free, all-natural, etc.? Or, is she saying she prefers to grow old naturally. I'm a bit confused, but still love her (and not just 'cause she's rich, gorgeous or married to Seal...although thses do factor their way in...a little).

Say what you will about Heidi, whether or not she's had silicone, there's definitely something to be said about how a beautiful dress (or even an ordinary one) on a healthy, confident, happy woman looks SO MUCH BETTER than on an emaciated, sullen teenager. I will never understand why designers prefer that look. Did Heidi herself have to pose that way during her early modeling days? If so I've never seen it.

Heidi and her attitude make me want to buy those dresses-- NOT the runway models.
Being smack in the middle of 35 and 40 I kind of get what she is saying...
I am not as genetically gifted, not do I have hours a day to exercise while someone else watches my kids, so I don't look like her.
I hope that she follows through and doesn't have any work done... or if she does, she comes clean and says why. Honesty speaks a lot to a person's character.
Occasionally you see those untouched photos of celebrities-- I think Jamie Lee Curtis did one of those. I would love to see Heidi like that, warts and all. It would be affirming that she is a real person too.

Holy crap! She looks so much better in those clothes than the other models. She has such a beautiful figure and skin. The great smile helps too :)

Those models look like night of the living dead. If they ate anything I would fear for my brains.

Ok...I have to say this. In the photo of the back of the purple dress on the model, those friggin tights are hideous. Any one remember Adam Sandlers foot in Mr. Deeds? Thats what her legs look like to me. Like they are rotten to the core and about to fall off. Whats wrong with bare legs people??? Or at least flesh colored legs with a formal gown!

So its true! She IS gorgeous! Makes those dresses look a million times better!
