Nikki Blonsky and season 3 designer Malan Breton
We're just going to come right out and say it and you can all hate us for it if you want to: Malan had the toughest client to dress. She's very short and of course, (putting this delicately) plus-sized.
To his credit, he used beautiful materials. The red belt is python.
The problem is, he wound up giving her more volume. It's not that we think he should have put her in a sheath, but the poofiness did her figure no favors.
More pictures:
She clearly loves the dress, though.
Rebecca Budig and season 3 designer Alison Kelly
Cute dress! Both of them, in fact.
This was another good pairup. Rebecca fairly embodies the aesthetic that Alison plays around in; young, girly and cute.
By the way, why can't they shoot the season in that workroom? It's much easier on the eyes than that flourescent nightmare they usually work in.
"Here's what I'm thinking."
"I'll just stand here and do some sketching and pretend like I'm working..."
"...Then I'll just go home and pull a dress I wore last month (at the GenArt show) out of my closet and give it to you, okay?"
Still, it is cute. Bold and graphic and eye-catching.
