From Fashion Week Daily:

"Project Runway star Nina Garcia is about to land a major gig at Marie Claire, reliable sources have informed The Daily. The former Elle fashion director was fired last month, almost a year after a new Joe Zee-helmed creative team was installed at the venerable fashion title. After appearing recently at the Hearst Tower to much frenzied speculation about Harper's Bazaar--and more speculation about a possible role at perennially beleagured In Style--Garcia is now poised to take on a position at Marie Claire which, given the new partnership between the magazine and Project Runway, would ensure her continued presence on the show. Currently, Marie Claire's fashion department is directed by Tracy Taylor. UPDATE: It appears that Taylor will be leaving the magazine. "We have no changes in Marie Claire's fashion department to announce at this time," a Hearst spokesperson wrote in an email. Calls to Taylor and Garcia have not been returned."

Congrats to Nina for landing on her feet. Now, let the speculation begin as to what this means for the show.

Okay, now I can live.
On another subject, what the hell is Christian talking about in the bonus video?

On second thought, I don't wanna know.

(Bomber . . . for some reason, ID not showing.)

The Project Runway story has more twists than, say, a Lifetime movie. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I'm glad to hear that there's a good chance Nina will continue on the show, she really is my favorite judge.

Yeah! More bitchy screencaps of La Nina in the future! At least one piece of the puzzle has fallen into place....

Oh, no! If that glamazon Heidi can wear a black bra under a white T-shirt on the cover of Marie Claire, will thousands of the unwashed masses think it's okay to do the same?

That photo of Nina makes her look like a postulant who forgot to put her wimple on as she dashed off to lauds in the convent chapel.

I'm afraid it's too late, Bill. It's already happening. They're everywhere.

(Still B. Bomber; still no ID showing up!)

Apparently you've never been to the Jersey shore.

I'm not wondering what this means for the show.

The only thing I'm wondering is did Nina take PR to Marie Claire, or did PR take Nina to Marie Claire?? Or is this just one of the universe's little coincidences?

I think PR took Nina to Marie Claire.

Darling TLo,
This may not be something you can discuss, but what does this change in nets & mags mean for you? I think it's obvious you have a relationship w/ Bravo through your coverage of PR and subsequent shows like Top Design, Shear Genius, et al. Has Lifetime approached you 2? If not yet, will you enter into a relationship w/ them like you have w/ Bravo if they do? More importantly, will you dish w/ your adoring public as soon as it happens?
Any further word on the lawsuit?
Personally if you guys blogged "Dog The Bounty Hunter" I'd probably watch so I could read your take on it. It would be a sad, shitty day in Hell if Lifetime were to ignore the fact that an incredible # of PR viewers come here to discuss their favorite show.

PS:
Bill re: black bras under white T-Shirts. Here in LA, it's even more skanktastic: Black bras & tube tops.

Lemmings. The whole lot of them. True iconoclasts (like me) wear a blue bra under a white top. But usually only on the day before laundry day. ;-)

Moving from Elle to Marie Clarie seems like a step down, even if it is the same job title. Now, Bazzar would have been a step up, but I guess they consider PR a little too tacky for the tie-in.

As long as they keep Nina, everything else is cool!

I prefer to look at it like the glass is half full. MC definitely needs a shot in the arm, and hopefully NinaGahcia will be the one to do it.

They should replace Michael Kors. He needs to go. I'm kid of think of him.

LOL. I'm kind of SICK of him.

This is turning into a friggin' soap opera!

Nina and Marie Claire will probably both be improved by the experience. Runway? Well, that remains to be seen.

bill, the fact you used the words wimple and postulant correctly in a sentence makes my beads tingle. You get an A today.

I'd draw the line at Dog the Bounty Hunter. But I would have LURVED to get Tlo's take on those horrible Housewives of NYC (though it would have been like the proverbial shooting fish in a barrel).

I never watched the OC one, but a friend saw the NYC one & said, 'it's so bad, you have to see it', so I watched it, but the whole way through I thought the only thing that could possibly redeem this garbage would be if Tlo blogged it.

hey gothamtomato - Jill Zarin (of the Real Housewives of NY) and her husband Bobby offered my partner Ed a job. When we got a look at that show, we were so relieved that he opted not to take the job and decided to open his own store instead. I still cringe a little when I think that he could have actually ended up in some of the footage if he took the position at Zarin Fabrics.

I love a blog where the words "wimple" "postulant" AND "skanktastic" could all be used to comment on the same post.(thank you Emma P.--skanktastic is my new favorite word!)

Good for Nina and I hope this means she will continue her association with PR. They need her editorial POV in there and of course I need me some TLo screencaps of La Nina. As to the mags, I don't care.

oh, emma p., the horror of black bras with tube tops; how is it your retinas haven't just burnt right through?

Anonymous said...

Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Nina or PR to Marie Claire? Who cares. Even though I don't really care for her, I agree that the show wouldn't be the same without her. I just wish she would comb her hair.

Obviously, Bill darling, your impeccable taste encompasses all aspects of your life (by the photo, Ed--& you-- are quite yum).
I did watch some of the RHNYC-- Dayum. A gaggle of psychos.
Don't even think TLo blogging could've salvaged that 1.

(thank you Emma P.--skanktastic is my new favorite word!)
You're more than welcome, though you must know I swiped it & I'm too skantastic to remember from where!
I'm also swiping "makes my beads tingle" from wannabe.
Thanks, Sweetie!

Just kidding.

TLo, you amuse me. i love that "Well, its official" means "?".

Also, i was channel surfing the other day and saw that "Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?" was coming up for another showing on Lifetime and, in thinking of the inevitable Runway move, i thought "Shit. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." and set my DVR to record it.

I'm assuming that Nina's switch to Marie Claire means she won't be around for Season 5 which will be the last of the Elle seasons. Anybody have any info on whether that is true?

Small world! She is actually the only one of them who came across as sort-of likeable. The others are complete nightmares (especially that one with the crazy eye job).

I think Nina will be great for Marie Claire. After reading Nina's black book, I'd say it's the group she's really after.

I wasn't aware of any formal arrangement between Bravo and TLo. Beyond the recognition by giving them invites to the final show, all other collateral "good things" that have happened have been because of their adroitness with keeping this bitchfest going.

But then again, I could be wrong. Maybe Lifetime will make them an offer to be a nicer, softer Perez Hilton? A sassier, cuter Martha Stewart? TLo doing cooking segments? ;0)

Anonymous said...

Whay would it mean any changes at all? Nina goes from one magainze to another in the same industry. If anything the show comes out the ahead because they can pit one magazine sponsor against the other. Not a big deal, IMO.

Anonymous said...

Whew!
I don't know if I could watch if La Nina were gone!

This is a bad soap opera---
TLo should write the screen play and I bet money Bravo & Lifetime would fight over it (so they could guarantee they could make the other side look worse).

Who reads Marie Claire?
Just wondering...
I get Vogue, Elle, British Vogue, Elle UK edition and the occasional InStyle. That's it. I always regret buying the US mags.
The content and editorial spreads get sadder and sadder all the time.
The UK ones ROCK.
As far as a designer and getting your clothes in a mag and it affecting retail sales, other than Vogue, Elle and InStyle, I would not give a flying rodent's butt.
I have never seen girls go to the stores with copies of Allure or Marie Claire looking for the clothes in the editorials.
I used to see a bunch of girls doing that with Vogue or InStyle.
Love,
Milla
