Runway Toons!

Friday, January 18, 2008 by

Once again, Alex brings his inimitable talent to the table as we ask the designers

So, what do you REALLY think of your partner?
(click, bitches!)

And no, we had no idea he was going to toon us at the end, but don't we look adorable?

I would totally buy plush dolls of cartoon Tom and Lorenzo. Lorenzo looks especially cute!

OH. MY. GOD. I'm ROFLMAO. I'm not kidding.
This blogs keeps getting better and better.

Yikes, is Ricky topless?

Lilithcat said...

don't we look adorable?

You certainly do!

(Oh, perhaps that was too emotional.)

SUS said...

I've always wanted to be turned into a cartoon!

*contentedly*
It`s the little things in life that make life worth living.....Is that too emotional? :P

I hope that hyphenation was slight Simpson's reference (the John Water's episode). Homer was wondering why the John Water's character didn't have a girlfriend, and the exchange went something like this:

Marge: He is a ho...
Homer: uh-huh
Marge: ...mo...
Homer: uh-huh
Marge: ...sexual
Homer: [screams]

I can't wait for the TLo action figures!

This is so great. Alex needs to do a strip every day. This is the best. Awesome.

I escpecially love Victor-Ian both saying they are too emotional.

TOO TOO FUNNY! Love how Sissy is IN the dress! Classic! And our Boys...awwwww....even cute bitches as freakin cartoons..of COURSE.

GothamTomato said...

Alex! strikes again!!!

Yes, you look adorable. And he needs to draw you a dog (whether you have one not), because 1. it will make you more like Charlie Brown, and 2. it will make Mike Huckabee's head explode.

i love these cartoons. they brighten up my day, sorta like this blog.

stmkent said...

I'm thinking that instead of watching the show, I'll just read the blog. It's a lot smarter than the show is right now anyway.

And the hosts are way cuter.

Anonymous said...

SissyBear in the dress is fucking hilarious! I can't stop laughing!!

Anonymous said...

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!! I love it!!

Anonymous said...

ROFL!!!!!!!

Bill said...

"Too emotional" HA! I loved them all but that was the best.

Put Alex on staff when you guys get our own TV show. He's Matt Groening waiting to happen.

Alex's caricatures of TLo are perfect. I'm with sus - I always wanted to be turned into a cartoon character. I was always so jealous of Elizabeth Montgomery & Barbara Eden.

i know exactly which ep/scene you're referring to and i'm cracking up.

Also, i'm so amused that Ricky is shirtless. That's just funny.

I heart PRStraightboy!

ADORE!

LOVE TO ALEX AND TLO!

Anonymous said...

Seriously, guys. The 3 of you need to collaborate on a comic book series for all 4 seasons of PR. It would be FIERCE. Seeing these makes me want to see what Alex and TLo could do with Jay, Austin, Santino, Uncle Nick, Laura B., VINCENT!!! (think of the possibilities), Jubilee Jumbles, and all the rest.

So much fun!

Joanie said...

Fantastic in every way! Each little characterization and comment were perfection.

Thank you, TLoLex!

Now we need action figures (or would that be fashion dolls?). I'd totally buy them.

Anonymous said...

What a cheering way to end the week. Well done, Alex! TLo, yet another triumphant artistic rendition of the glorious GayBoys. Hurrah!

All the best,

NDC (back from Kenya)

I knew it! His ass really is uptight!

And Alex really is the best!

If I wasn't already married, I would totally ask Alex(!) to marry me...right now.

That was the best, dude! What a great picker upper for a crappy early Friday!

TLo look so delicious as toons too!

I couldn't believe this blog could get any better...I was wrong!

Hutchlover said...

Alex, you & TLo are geniuses!

And TLo is adorable!

Like someone said, you should totally do a running series of all four season & publish it.

I would totally buy it!

Anonymous said...

cute toons, alex. so...which cartoon character would YOU bang?

Anonymous said...

That was frickin' HILARIOUS! I just about fell out when I got to the end...Alex, you definitely captured all the designers, and the little cherry on top was just perfect. I can only imagine how much our dear TLo must have laughed when they saw this one. Utterly brilliant!

Suzanne said...

LOL!Lorenzo looks like Tintin....do people know who that is here?

ALEX IS THE SHIZZLE

Now HE has to go back and do seasons 1-3.

Sorry Alex, you started it.

Anonymous said...

Please tell me Alex will be a regular contributor! He's hilarious!

Anonymous said...

Great work. Spot on once again. Instead of action figures or plush dolls we need PAPER DOLLS with the designers clothes to dress them up in! LOL

*susan* said...

Alex,
Absolute brilliance! "too emotional", OMG..... Thank you thank you thank you

Anonymous said...

Paper dolls of the designers with outfits would be excellent! The Chris March one would sell out in minutes.

I still want a plush cartoon Lorenzo, though; he looks so huggable!

Anonymous said...

Who is TinTin? No we don't know who that is here.

Milla said...

I <3 Alex and I <3 you two.
Brill, just brill.

These are the best! Every drawing and caption is perfect!

TinTin is a classic French comicstrip. www.tintin.com

Anonymous said...

The blog was gift enough so Alex's comics are just a really great bonus. And the speed with which all three of you turn this stuff out! No time management issues for you boys.

Bill said...

Actually, Tintin is Belgian, as is his creator, Georges Remi (aka Herge).

An animated "The Adventures of Tintin" ran on American TV when I was a kid (late 60's and early 70's) and I remember it quite fondly.

Anonymous said...

Fantastic cartoon! I love it! this is it: you guys have to come up with a comic book at the end of the season! it would be awesome to have them all together. and then to make it even more fabulous: a double feature with Laura and Robert Best cartoon! how about that? I would buy that comic book in a second!

Eric V. said...

Adorable? You guys are cuter than words.

Chris in his dress is absolutely PRICELESS! Great job, guys!

Anonymous said...

I love the toon versions of you guys, and yes, you DO look absolutely adorable... I'm glad that you so recently posted that pic of you with Jay, too- otherwise I'd have had no basis for comparison.

and yeah, where can we see more and more and MORE of Alex's comics? He's awesome.

Anonymous said...

Aw, thanks for the laffs, Alex.

It's almost driven this morning's septic tank disaster out of my head... Good-bye city life!

Anonymous said...

Alex! !!!
You rock.

TLo-thank you for bringing Alex! into the mix!

Bill said...

I'm getting a little bit of a Principal Skinner vibe off of Alex's wonderful Toon Tom. Anyone else feeling it?

Anonymous said...

PR Producers should be extra nice to Tom, Lorenzo and Alex - these three are what's making this season worth watching.

Anonymous said...

"Pin up his asshole with a sledgehammer." I'm stealing that phrase and working it into a conversation a day.

High-LARIOUS. Cartoon Christian gets me every time. mygod.

You DO look adorable! And I laughed so hard at the last panel, because that's exactly how my conservative dad says "ho-mo-sexuals."

I totally agree, Yomanda!! And add PRCanada to that list! I bet comic strip Iman would be just as scary as the real life version. Perfect way to start my day this morning!

Anonymous said...

I would even attend a Comic Convention to get my hands on this!

Alex, you are extremely talented! What do you do in "the real world?"

TLo, thank you for sharing your friend with us.

Anonymous said...

Alex, thank you. Your cartoons make me ridiculously happy. Jillian and Victorya's opinions of each other were especially hilarious.

Kanani said...

Once again, witty and spot on!
I'm waiting for the TLO and Alex bobbleheads that J-girl and Ya Ya will use as target practice!

I wanted to say something about the bonus video...

Rami really was fixated on blaming Sweet P for his inability to listen and incorporate her ideas. His sentence should have been: "If I go home over this Avant Garde challenge it's because I worked with Sweet P and it showed that I'm not a good team player and I don't know how to take feedback."

As for Kit, it's not over the entire challenge, it's over each piece made. It's not a contest of virtues, it's one of meeting a new, outrageous challenge every few days. Sorry her piece didn't cut it. I was sad to see her go.

Jenn said...

Alex!, your cartoons are truly great.
Thank you!

Dear God, Ricky really was
shirtless...not an image I cared to conjure, but funny nonetheless.

(LOL gothamtomato Re: Huckabee)

Love it!! Love TLo! Keep 'em coming Alex!

--too many exclamation points?--

Long time reader, first time caller - TLo - you are made to be animated! And what a great muse you have offered to Alex (who is doing an awesome job)...may we see more (I see a graphic novel in the works about two young men in Philly and their love of fashion that catapults them into a new world of fame, fortune, and Tim Gunn-ness)....

Really? I don't think she was a bitch at all...she didn't make any personal attacks. She just really, really didn't like the dress.

Laura said...

Wait, wait, wait. You guys are GAY????

Lilithcat said...

Anne -

If Maddie is a bitch for saying what she thinks, then we are all bitches here!

And the dress did suck, big time. If Christian had deliberately set out to design a dress that would make her a laughing-stock and the butt (I use the word advisedly) of jokes, he couldn't have done better.

I heart TLo & Alex!

frankly, with all that can go wrong, I have to wonder why any school or any parent would let their kid be on a reality TV show.

especially with some of the honest feedback the judges gave. I think if I were a teen, I'd be totally embarassed.

Jay blogs this episode at the Elle website, and he gives a shout to a regular commenter here!

http://fashion.elle.com/blog/2008/01/january-20-2008.html#more

At least Maddie's blog was well-written, in the sense of grammar and spelling being okay and the whole thing coherent.

Alex! said...

"Alex looks like Scott McCloud from Understanding Comics in this. Intentional?"

LOL... Not so much...

That has been mentioned in the past, when I've drawn myself as a wee doodle. I actually brought it up with Mr. McCloud when he did a signing at my shop, drew a tiny comic-version of Alex, and we determined that the pupil-free glasses and plaid shirt were making us cartoon twinsies.

Visual shorthands are the great uniter... we are all brothers and sisters when drawn as smiley faces!
