Bring it, bitches - Part Zwei

Lorenzo: I couldn't concentrate much on the piece because this bitch couldn't walk to save her life. I don't like the choice of fabrics on this.
Tom: I agree. I don't particularly like the proportions on this either.
Lorenzo: It seems like the top doesn't work with the bottom.

Tom: I kinda like this. I still think the fabric choices are off and she does look like she's farting feathers, but it's kind of cute.
Lorenzo: I go back and forth on this one. I like the concept, I love the way the skirt moved on the runway, not crazy about the feathers. I do love the top.
Tom: Me too.

Lorenzo: I thought it was a great look. Lea is a great model and she worked the shit out of it.
Tom: It has a sort of Halston-y vibe to it, which is nice, but I think the top's a little blouse-y.

Jillian Lewis

Tom: Shocked the shit outta me.
Lorenzo: I have to say that I'm really impressed with her. I didn't expect this level of craftsmanship. The-
Tom: Shut up and let me speak. I agree with you. At first I was like "Oh, it's all a little too Dr. Zhivago," but I have to admit, it looks great.
Lorenzo: The look is very hot. But the model almost ruined it. She walked like she had just fallen off the horse.

Lorenzo: I loved this look. The details were amazing.
Tom: Liked, not loved. I have a little bias against the Cabaret-esque garters showing. I'm really working the film references in on this one.

Lorenzo: To be honest, I wasn't wowed by this piece.
Tom: I have to say, it's not my taste, but it was very dramatic - and perfectly executed.
Lorenzo: I agree that it was dramatic for the runway, but do you really want to wear that?
Tom: Well, no. But last time I checked, I'm not a girl. I love the silver.
Lorenzo: I love the top; I just don't like the bottom.

Ricky Lizalde

Tom: I have to give him credit for going in a different direction. I don't know if lingerie's his "thing," or if he made a conscious decision to be the odd man out.
Lorenzo: Daniel Vosovic said the same thing.
Tom: Hmmph.
Lorenzo: I agree. When it first came down the runway, I was like, "This is your big chance and you chose lingerie?" But they were so well done, that I can see why he did it.
Tom: And it got him attention.

Lorenzo: I loved this.
Tom: I liked the model too.
Lorenzo: Me too. I thought this piece was very sexy.

Tom: Too basic. Looks like Daniel Franco lingerie.
Lorenzo: A little matronly.

Chris March

Tom: I'm going to start off by saying Chris' stuff is a little gay. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it has that Nick Verreos "FIERCE!" vibe to it.
Lorenzo: I like the dress. I just wish -- the trim looked a little funny. On the back especially.
Tom: I just thought it looked way too '90s.

Tom: I liked this one, though.
Lorenzo: I did too, but I didn't like the chain across the top -
Tom: Agreed.
Lorenzo - and it was a little too pucker-y in the back.

Lorenzo: I absolutely loved this dress. Very sexy and it moved perfectly on the runway.
Tom: I agree. It's Furstenbergalicious.
Lorenzo: I can see a celebrity wearing this on the red carpet.

Jack Mackenroth

Tom: I'm gonna go first on this because I know you and a lot of others liked this. I wasn't crazy about it. I'll admit, it photographs well but in my opinion, that's because the fabric does all the work. That cape looks dramatic, but in person, the whole thing was kind of shapeless. Plus, I have a bias against cutesy trompe l'oeil stitching.
Lorenzo: I really liked it. I thought it was a very sophisticated look. Camilla did a fantastic job. The only thing is that when she turned, the cape didn't have much structure and it just looked like fabric hanging off her shoulder.

Tom: This, I loved.
Lorenzo: I thought it was very cute. I'm a sucker for fabulous prints. Lagerfeld once said that prints were for middle-aged women with weight problems -
Tom: Oh go suck your fan, Karl.
Lorenzo - but I disagree with him. I think a dress can be all about the print.
Tom: So long as the print isn't doing all the work,
Lorenzo: True. And I think he does a great job with prints.

Tom: Case in point. This is a gorgeous print, although it's a fairly basic dress.
Lorenzo: Even though I didn't like the sparkly trim, I absolutely love this dress.
Tom: You ARE a sucker for prints.
Lorenzo: Yes, I am. And Marilinda did a fantastic job. What did he do to get Camilla, Marilinda AND Amanda to walk for him?
Tom: Took his clothes off.

For the record, that Lagerfeld quote was specifically in the context of the hideous upholstery-fabric oversized floral prints in the most recent Balenciaga show. Which were ugly.

I thought Chris' third piece was the best thing in the show--and by a wide margin. I had assumed that he was an obvious early "auf", but if he can bring this kind of talent to the competition, he could be around for awhile.

Jack Macs stuff was great - as always, you queens are on the money.

P.S Thanks for the pics of him...too bad they were more arty less nakey. Boo

Jillian's were the ones that shocked me as well -- after her audition tape, I was expecting Baby Jane Hudson.

And I thought Jack's were the most wearable, though I wished that Camilla would have taken off the cape at the end of the runway, so we could see the dress better.

I bet Chris won, that's why he had the fabulous Camilla, Marilinda, and Amanda walk for him. It's only logical, kids!

That was Jack.

Tom, I agree with every single thing you said. Are you a mind reader?

That model on the first Ricky one has the most beautiful breasts imaginable. Had to watch it three times before I noticed the lingere.

I have to tell you, my immediate reaction to Jack's first two looks was 'coffin clothes' No visual interest in the back, and little in the front for that matter. That cape? Heinous. I love the idea of letting the fabric have the spotlight, but that print looks like she grabbed an ugly slipcover and tossed it over her shoulders.

So maybe Jack's naked posing IS to take attention off his lack of design chops.

Totally disagree. I love his designs. He went to Parsons and it shows.

Dear Ann November,

You wouldn't know a "gorgeous thing" if it slapped you in that fake red hair of yours.

That's all.

Meep, a Saturday post!
Marion- I kind of like the feathers coming out of the hem of the skirt. Were they all the way around or just in the front? That looks a little "muff" like.
Jillian- I think she did a great job showcasing what she can do. All three pieces are strong, regardless if they are to my taste. I'm suprised, she seemed silly on her tape.
Ricky- Lingerie is harder than most people think. However, I think that he came on the show to break into sportswear or evening, so I wonder why he chose to show all lingerie? I still think he's cute though.
Chris- His last look is the strongest. The other two are nice but not original. I thought his work would be more "costumey" and over the top.
Jack- Okay I have to admit, I thought he was cast just for his looks, but he obviously has something to say. Although I think the 1st piece stands out the most.

I got busted big time on your previous post. I clickied to make Jack biggie and I got caught looking at a picture of a naked man with a cartoon head up his crack.

While I love the stucture of the last dress that Marilinda is wearing, the huge flower print looks like a Hawiian HoJo bedspread.

Camilla, Marilinda, amd Amanda. What an epic trio!

It's weird seeing Marilinda in something so feminine and not-edgy, after Jeffrey. :P

Jillian's stuff really impressed me, and I love Lea already!

Jack, it's going to be fun having you around. :)

I agree with you on the models. I was so distracted by how horribly some of the models walked.

Oooohhhh! That trenchcoat of Jillian's; I'd wear it every day for the rest of my life, if I got my hands on it! LOVE it!!!

I really like Jack's pieces and Jillian's equestrian inspired looks. LOVE that trench. Very avant gard meets country club.

You guys are so funny! Farting feathers, indeed!

And I'm glad you critiqued the models as well, because "this is also a competition for them"!

I loved Jillian's first coat. I would buy it right now if it was available.

I like the stitched belt on Jack's first look, but the cape isn't impressive. I love the fabric, but that's all that's good about it.

The second one looks like a simplicity pattern, with pockets on the hips?

The last one reminds me of the blue one everyone hated from Jeffrey's fashion week collection.

He looks good naked, but I'm lost elsewhere.

Farting Feathers! Ha! Plus you've got a Bitch Slap Fest going on in your comment section. Jack's a feisty one, isn't he Anne? But you gave it right back.

Oh, how lovely.

OK...its taken me THIS long to give it up for Jillian. Her stuff is beautiful but I still think she is going to be a big bitch. And Jacks last dress has been in every mall store in the country for the last year, but its still cute.

pesronally i liked that one girl in the clothes with the stuff!

Is it just me, or does Jack's stuff have a kind of Emmett vibe? Clean lines, nice ideas, well executed but not particularly "edgy"? Bodes well for a long career, but not winning PR4.

Early betting says Jillian is going to Bryant Park. She's whack, and yet talented. Female Santino, with better sewing skills.

What's wrong with "fierce"? At least it's a point of view, and reasonably well-executed.

So far, none of it is abjectly horrible. That's good. There's eye candy and nuts and talent. I just hope the formula proves durable. If, on the other hand, it's too good, this may be the last watchable season of PR. (I'm thinking of American Idol's trajectory here -- 4 years with an increasingly good talent pool, culminating in Season 5, then the forgettable seasons with only one or two decent singers in each).

ok, so i get the hype about jillian, but im still disappointed. i hope her creations on the show are better than these. her 2nd look is my favorite of hers - it's different. the coat is draped nicely, but for all of it's construction, she managed to make it too narrow in the shoulders. the model looks like shes suffocating.

ricky scores points for 2 pieces of nice lingerie. and i want that robe!

for now, chris is my favorite designer overall. his first dress was just okay for me, until she turned around (in the video). the trim on the back was a nice touch. the silver dress is a little dated, but well done. that silhouette is always fashionable. and his third dress - the one everyone loves - is very flattering. the only thing i don't care for is the uncle nick trademark fishtail. it's very season 2.

jack's 2nd dress was really nice. amanda has a way of making almost everything look hamptons-chic. the dress on marilinda is unfortunately too long for her, or rather, she's too short to wear such a long dress. and the cape on camilla looks just like the throw blanket i got at old navy last month. so i kinda like, but i'm not sure i respect it... regardless, im pretty sure i'm gonna love his character on the show.

THANK YOU for mentioning the models who couldn't walk to save their lives..I thought it was just me!
