Carmen = Zulema Sweet P = Sweet Jack = They barely showed him Rami = ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Jillian = Bitch 1 Victorya = Bitch 2 Chris = Drama Queen 1 Ricky = Drama Queen 2 Steve = Hilarious Christian = Total Diva
Ok, I love the show, but I'm not excited about seeing Nina Garcia on a regular basis. She annoys me. But I still love PR."
Really? I think she's a fabulous judge. Besides, anyone who puts Santino in his place and reminds him that he is not God's gift to the fashion world is my hero.
Victorya says that she'll never put something on the runway that she won't wear. I never understood that kind of statement. In my opinion, that's a very limited and amateurish way of looking at fashion and your client base.
Jillian and Christian immediately stand out as the most unlikeable. And, yes, I too noticed how very little of Jack and Rami there was. Wonder why? (loved the little "hmmph" with a head snap from Jack, though) But thanks for the Sneak Peek, boys! Methadone for a PR addict!
I wish that they would have new judges - I really want to watch it but it is really difficult sitting through Michael Kors' constant smart alack remarks - he is not nice. Neither is Nina Garcia - if we are ever to have a fair judging of the designers the judges need to change. They will continue to pick the same 'type' of designer season after season - they need some fresh blood.
In re" Anonymous 9:32: It seems like two different problems that the judges are not nice and that they pick the same kind of designs every season (which I think is pretty untrue: Jay, Chloe and Jeffrey have similar designs? I don't think so). Would the show be much fun to watch if the judges were nice? In what profession would you find experts in the field saying only nice things about less experienced practitioners' work? Anyway, I love MK's and NG's bitchiness, it's wat makes for good drama, and they do rotate their gust judges to bring in a fresh perspective.
On another topic, I am so excited to hate a character so vociferously already (Jillian)!
Ok, I found the article I was looking for. I hope the boys don't mind. Here's what Tim says in this interview about...
Christian= "It's seldom in my years of teaching that I would say this, but Christian is a prodigy. He is a fashion prodigy."
Victorya= "She's dogged, determined, tenacious."
Kevin= "He is very serious, sometimes too much so. I feel like delivering that Nina Garcia line, 'Lighten up! It's just fashion!'"
Jillian= "[Her aesthetic] is girly, flirtatious; not unlike Betsey Johnson and Diane von Furstenberg, she's her own muse."
Marion= "Designers design. If you can design a house, you can design fashion. If you can design a table setting, you can design fashion."
Kit= "She's had a lot of experience with clothes, so she knows what looks good. She's a risk taker, which I applaud, but it also means you're at risk."
Ricky= "Ricky understands construction — lingerie is all about the details, so he has that sensibility."
Simone= "The real success or failure of the challenge happens [during fabric shopping] at Mood. Simone's textile aptitude is just especially well honed."
Chris= "He can infuse clothes with whimsy, some Schiaparelli-like wit. But where's the line between fashion and costume?"
Carmen= "Let me put it this way — if everyone were Carmen, I would've run for the hills!"
Jack= "He's very adept at tailoring, which is certainly needed in womenswear. "Bonus: "He's charismatic, funny, and incredibly likable."
Elisa= "Her conflict was, Is this fashion or wearable art? She really wanted to debate that. You'll see it on the runway and in the workroom."
Rami= "His presence is like Cassie on A Chorus Line, like 'I can dance circles around these people.' Guess what? The others are really good."
Sweet P= "It's always a matter of who she's going to be for this challenge."
Steven= "He could pierce the tension in the workroom with his levity. Sometimes I'd say, 'Steven, don't you have anything funny to say?'"
Does anyone else think that when the clothes come down the runway, that the judges shouldn't know already what design belongs to whom when doing their initial scores? I would love to see the outcome without their pre-concieved feelings about the designers potentially clouding judgement.
bettie, thanks for that great info! gotta' love tim's take on all things pr related. bless him for sharing those tasty, teasing morsels of info with us! :)
the anticipation is killing me!! thank goodness the premiere is now less than a month away...
counting down the days, zoe
p.s. is it just me, or does carmen look like rosario dawson, a la sin city?
"Anyone know what their time frame for shooting is? Like how many weeks it actually takes from start to final 4?"
Suzanne- Season 3 was shot in a little over a month (about 5 weeks), then it's the time to fashion week for the finalists (very short for season 3... I think they have more time this round).
Kind of echoing lima bean here about the blue rolls of fabric in the commercial background - is anyone else channelling Carissa's (I think) hotel room from Top Design???
Man, those Magical Elves know how to edit. Too bad Tim wasn't able to use their magic without incurring the wrath of the Weinsteins. Damn you, Harvey & Bob!

I knew that Jillian was a total bitch! This is so exciting. Thanks, boys!
It's going to be an awesome season. I can feel it. Darlings, I can't wait.
There are going to be a lot of crying and gnashing of teeth. I'm loving it already.

"It's freak-out time here, ladies and gentlemen."
LOL. Steven is adorable! Did I mention that I want to sleep with him?
I hate Jillian already.

Christian is fierce ...he's a diva and an amazing designer.
I do enjoy the drama but I hope we get a chance to experience the process.
It'll be fun to watch all this talent and ego explode on my TV.
Ok, I love the show, but I'm not excited about seeing Nina Garcia on a regular basis. She annoys me. But I still love PR.
AAAWWWW!!!! I remember Steve from the Road to the Runway special last season!! He's so cute! I'm rooting for his adorable ass!!!!
Anyone know what their time frame for shooting is? Like how many weeks it actually takes from start to final 4?

And people think women are bitchy?!!
I love PR. My friends and I are addicted to it.

Heidi looks good for Heidi. Not really feeling the dress, but make-up and hair look good. Keep it up, Frau Seal!

I went to school with her. She's a typical LI girl: snotty and spoiled.
YAY! Thanks, Boys! I can't wait for the season to start.

This is so exciting! I came late to my passion for Project Runway, but when I fell, I fell hard. I freaking love this show!!
Wonderful!

Grrrrr.....
Fashion designers aren't often called on to design for a drag queen. That would be a great challenge.
"My head is full of wonderful, pretty things" I love Ricky already!

Ack! I can't watch it til my lunch hour. I'm dying here.
I'm already getting them mixed up with the PR Canada people. Maybe I shouldn't watch PRC anymore...
I agree with Bettie in that I hope there is a good mix of drama and process. Looks like there will be plenty of drama to choose from.
I'm thrilled to see Nina, Michael, Heidi, and of course, Mr. Perfect, Tim Gunn. Like them or not, it wouldn't be PR without them.
I don't like the blue rolls of fabric in the backgroud. Too stark of a contrast. Wy too distracting. Fug.
Just. Can't. Wait.

Oh, how I wish I had an occasion in my life to say "I'm kind of a big deal!!" I'm going to have to create one ;)
Is it me, or does Chris bear a striking resemblance to Fred Flintstone, and do you think it's intentional?

Hahahahahaha. Shetangi!!!!
Sweet P is so sweet!
Stephen is so funny!
Victoriya! Ooooo. Cool calm collected. Bitch!
Jillian just a bitch with a cute figure.
Rami? Final 3 baby!
Hmmmmm. What will BPR's TBone (AKA Obi Wan TBoni) take from this? That guy can read Bravo previews like a wizard.

I can't wait for PR4, I've been dying for what seems like 4-EVAH!!
And I use that stupid language being a middle-aged woman, my kittens. I should be ashamed but I'm not, I can't help it!!!!!
All I have to say is
4 weeks and 86 minutes!!!!!!!
