A Note from Malan

"Dearest Tom and Lorenzo,

How are you? I just wanted to let you know I will be auctioning at the Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS fleamarket on Sunday, will you be in the city? I have volunteered with them for the last six years. I lost a very dear friend to AIDS and I told myself after that whatever I could do I would, I feel very strongly about this organisation.

Here is the link.

Please come if you are in town its in Schubert Alley on Broadway, I am auctioning off a fashion consultation with me, as well as some other bits. Other Auctioneers are Cindy Lauper, Allen Cummings, Julia Roberts, etc
It will be amazing fun.

Best,
Malan Breton

PS The more money raised the more people that get medicine, food, hospice, etc."

Now, how could we say "no" to that? We're going. Are you?

I'm going vicariously through you guys. All I can say is I hope there are some equally as fabulous events at Christmas time in NYC when I WILL be there. Events of course that you boys will be attending. :D Please give Malan a hug for me. He is a special one.

Malan is really a sweetheart. It's so nice to see him contributing to such a great cause.

Malan reminds me vaugly of Michael Buble...

Its not so much because of looks but Buble has that same suave, sexy voice as Malan.

If they had a conversation together in front of me, I would surely die.

Since I'm in Oregon, where can I send a check? Off the subject, you two are toooo much using the Louis Vuitton site for Laura's Link.

I wish I could. We are working our butts off here in Virginia to keep the compulsory heterosexuality marriage law out of the state constitution. Any VA folks here...say hi to me...! It's not easy getting people in our community motivated....I don't know if it is apathy, cynicism, jadedness, defeatism or what....

I'm falling in love with you guys! And I'm becoming addicted to you, too. But I suppose those are really the same thing...

Please post lots of pictures for those of us in the landlocked Midwest... :-) Sounds like great fun, and I've always thought Malan was cut WAY too early!

I find it somehow precious and endearing that he is so impeccable and spells "organisation" with an "s," yet he is so non-theatrically in-the-know that he misspelled "Shubert" and "Cumming."

Unfortunately I can't be there, as it is the second day of Rosh Hashonah and I will be in NJ being very Jewish.

If anyone is there between 1:30 to about 4:00 I will be manning the barricade at the 8th Avenue end of 44th St.
Anyone who wants to say howdy please oh please do since the barricade volunteers can't leave their post so I'd be happy for company. :)
The picture with my profile is me and that's pretty much exactly what I look like.
And YES PLEASE COME SUPPORT BROADWAY CARES!!! It is the most amazing organization ever and does so much good!

Hi madelineanne,

We'll see you there, darling!

katiecoo -
I'm head of Media and Promotions for Broadway Cares. Chances are, if you're in town we'll be producing a fabulous event to benefit those in need. If by some chance we're not in production - stop by our office, give us a donation and THAT will be a fabulous event! Seriously, check our website - www.broadwaycares.org You might also add Broadway Cares or BC/EFA to your google news searches. You may not live in NYC, but national broadway tours are always putting together something fierce on the road to raise money for us.

We'll miss you on Sunday.

One more thing - ACK! I need to go to bed!

Broadway Cares recently soft launched a blog - www.broadwaycares.blogspot.com

The current version is mostly soft news press releases. The next version will launch under the same name in a few weeks and will include previews of our events with postings from some of the Celebrities who help make them happen.

I talked to (and hugged!) Malan at this event and he is absolutely the most charming, sweet man I've ever had the pleasure to meet.
