NEW YORK – June 12, 2008 – Fashion, fierceness and fun all add up to five seasons of fabulous. Bravo's highly-anticipated fifth season of the three-time Emmy-nominated and Peabody Award-winning creative competition reality series "Project Runway" returns Wednesday, July 16 in a new time slot – 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Tim Gunn, Chief Creative Officer at Liz Claiborne, Inc. will once again act as a mentor to the designers as they take on weekly fashion challenges. "The fifth season has already proven to be the most drama-filled yet and the show hasn't even premiered," said Gunn. "I'm on pins and needles to see what the designers will bring to the runway this season."
The 16 "Project Runway" contestants will be whittled down week-by-week to the finalists who will show their own line in front of an audience of fashion industry movers and shakers at New York Fashion Week.

Neither can I! Hopefully Bravo will make this season count.
A-List Awards in 30 minutes....
"Fashion expert" Nina Garcia? Very interesting. No more Nina Garcia Fashion Editor of Elle Magazine.
AWESOME!!!!!!!
I wonder what sponsors they'll have since Nina isn't at Elle anymore...
I'll kill myself if one of the Olsen twits, oops I mean twins, are guest judges. 'Nuff said.
I hope they chose talent over "characters" this season. WOnder how they made out in the heatwave?
And I keep waiting for Bravo to have TLo as guest judges.
Letter writing campaign anyone?
Did Tim Gunn really say "I'm on pins and needles to see what the designers bring to the runway this season"? Pins and needles, that is just too corny.
Let the games begin!
Jeez, I hope the fabulous (and mysterious) Parselforce puts 'em up on YouTube as he did last season.
Or, have they worked out i-Tunes deal?
Boys! You may wanna start taking your vitamins now. Better yet -- take a vacation! I've got a feeling this season is gonna be crazy.
Love ya! -- desertwind
Oh, crap.
Parselforce's YouTube account is closed.

I'm more than ready to see what happens. And yes, when do we see the T-Lo guest judge appearance?
Ooooooh. I saw the ads on TV, and I shivered just a little from all the excitement.
Tick tock tick tock!
Can't wait!!!!
OHMYGOD Season 5!!!! I still remember Season 1 : )
It's good to know that they're still doing NY Fashion Week.
bummed about the earlier time...I work nights and usually catch the second airing (back to back) but now it will be too early!
Guess I'll have to find the random times they re show it.
"The fifth season has already proven to be the most drama-filled yet and the show hasn't even premiered," said Gunn."
I guess they're not the most talented this time.
Excited for the show, but man, all these changing time slots this year are killing my perfect lineup. All the shows I watch overlap. Oh well, at least I can count on Bravo for reruns (unlike some other networks...)
I'll have to mark my calendar-- and I like it an hour earlier-- now I can dish about it afterward on the phone with my friends.
After I check the Boy's blog of course...
is this the best group ever?
Hate to thread jack, but I have to ask: are our favorite gayboys going to be ripping the dresses the PR all-stars designed for the A-List Awards??? I hope the answer is yes!
Go Bravo Go!!!
Looking forward to the "drama" and HOPEFULLY some beautiful and creative fashion.
Neither. Can. I.

Anon, I'm fairly certain he is talking about the "hostile" switch to Lifetime and Nina losing her job at ELLE.
I can't wait. When do they start showing us the contestants?
I am literally skipping with glee on this.
I'm sure it will be great fun. And no matter how it is, it's got to be better than those dreadful A-List Awards last night. It was just an embarrassment from start to finish (though I do love me some Kathy Griffin!).

Not from me! I much prefer reading TLo ripping the judges!
Yay!

Bill, I am in total agreement with you regarding the awards. I was up early this morning and watched. What a disappointment. It was excruciating watching Poor Tim working the red carpet.
I wonder if the show was better in person or if the editing screwed it up.
Lorenzo? Shed some light: Tell us if Tom was lucky to have prior commitments?
Oh gosh.
I still havent recovered emotionally from last season.
I'm still all hell of emotional.
hello, I'm patsy stone" ("pats!")
'Excrutiating' is putting it mildly.
Poor. Tim. Gunn.

11:10 PM
Maybe not, from what I can tell Wednesday nights will be Project Runway then Shear Genius, so the first repeat for PR can't be until 11/10.
Oh goodie!
Sewing Siren, is that the fifth grade graduate, and did you make the dress? Adorable!
cannot wait!!!! goosebumps!!!
I marked my calendar and put an alert on my phone. So psyched!

OMG! That's right! They were probably filming last week when we had the almost 100 degree temperatures with no air conditioning at Parsons! Maybe the drama was from everyone fainting from the heat!
Wow, it seems too soon to be telling everyone I know not to call on Wednesdays....
As for the A-list Awards, I SO WANT to hear Lorenzo's take on it! After watching the first 1/2 hour I wanted to cover my eyes; after an hour I felt like scrubbing myself clean with steel wool.... There's having fun with screwy awards, then there's the trainwreck that was last night.

There's a LOT OF DRAMA going on...watch what happens.
I can't wait. I'm so excited!!
I hope we have great judges.

Was the fashion show (challenge?) part at least good?
So are you guys saying that I should just recycle the videotape without watching it?
Okay, to expand on my earlier comment, the awards show could have been great silly fun. I mean, Kathy Griffin is hosting, what's not to like? But instead of aiming to be like the MTV Awards in its prime, it seemed like they were trying WAY too hard. Kathy Griffin, for the most part, was good. But too much corporate schilling (no suprise there), and too much manufactured everything.... It's like 14 year olds were writing a parody of a parody of an awards show.
So, go ahead and watch, but don't be suprised if you feel a little icky afterwards....
Oh, thank goodness, I'm glad I'm not the only one who a) put 9 p.m., July 16, on her calendar as soon as she heard the news, and b) was disappointed with the A-List show last night. What would I do without my fellow PRG minions? :-D
(I did like Chris March's dress, though, and no, I'm not related to any headhunters in Borneo.)
(At least not as far as I know.)
more drama, more divas, i swear to god another christian siriano and i'll turn my tv off.
Top Chef is over I am ready for PR again.
Thank God that it's moving to an earlier spot, I thought 10 p.m. was too late, especially when you have to get up early the next day.
I must be the only one on Earth that liked the A-list show! I thought the point was that it was supposed to be sort of pathetic and ridiculous (and drunken, heh.) Kathy was her awesome self, people were acting kind of crazy, and it was nice to see everyone from various shows again.
What was with that second interviewer guy, though. Dude needed to stop screaming.

I'm sure they'll have all the LA celebrities on the show.
I usually love anything LB designs, and last night's piece was no exception. However, I have to admit her WonderWoman soccer mom dress featured here a few posts ago is plainly awful.
"Suzanne said...

When did ever do that, Suzanne?
Well, maybe last season and that's why it was so boring. Season 3 is still my favorite, a lot of talent and drama.
Oops...
When did THEY ever do that, Suzanne?
Me, Neither! I also hope Bravo makes this "farewell" season truly memorable.
So glad Chica is back.
TLo, I'm breathless with anticipation as you (as I know you will) bring us promos and introductory blogs on the contestants.
Yippeeeeeeeeee!!!!
bravo = you tube haters. i live in podunk, nevada & lost my bravo access. bravo yanked all the youtube videos. anybody out there w/any ideas for my pirate fix? i agree w/suzanne, tlo as guest judges w/be abfab.
