PR Bitches at Fashion Week

Saturday, February 02, 2008 by
Happy Fashion Week, kittens. While we wait for the next episode to find out who's showing, let's take a stroll through the tents and see which PR bitches showed their faces to the camera.

First up, Mrs. Seal makes an appearance on the runway for The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection Fashion Show in a skimpy little slip dress by Marc Jacobs.

Here's a bit of info on the show:

"The Red Dress—the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness—was designed to build awareness that women are at risk for heart disease, and motivate them to take action to reduce their risk. Follow The Heart Truth and learn about heart disease in women this February, and throughout the year, through a series of exciting events taking place across the nation."

When we first saw the pictures of this dress, we weren't too keen on it, but common sense prevailed and we realize that it - and she - looks fabulous. It's got a sexy, disheveled, JBF feel to it while giving the illusion that it shows more than it actually does. Nicely done, Miss Jacobs.

Heidi? You can start aging now. No one will hold it against you.

Next up, Princess Puffysleeves makes an appearance in the front row at the Perry Ellis show...

and at the Rubin Singer show:

He looks fierce. We couldn't pull off an outfit like that (or pull it on, for that matter), but he's rocking it.

Also, several bitches made their presence known at
the Na-Be by Victorya Hong show.

Team Star! Jack, did you make those pants? We want them.

And Jay finally got to meet the object of his obsession all season. Oh to have been a fly on the wall for that convo.

And yes, darlings, we WILL be getting to Victorya's collection very soon. In the meantime, a taste:

I'm so excited! It's Super Bowl week for the Fashion industry!
I saw VictorYa's collection. It's kind of hit or miss for me. A lot of it is unoriginal, some is very cute. I can't wait to hear your take on it all!

Marc Jacob's dress for Heidi with the black under the red - is that suggestive of arterial plaque or heart disease?

Re: the Princess's outfit and not being able to pull it off...or on. Ha! I so know what you mean, Boys.

Looking forward to your view of Victorya's collection. Looks okay to me from the peek you provided.

I saw Victorya's collection via Getty Images. It's... very innocuous.

Solids and big wide belts. It'll sell. That's about it.

Mom said...

That featured model there from VictorYA's show looked like she was suffering from a severe case of static cling. And what is it we say here in the biz -- the "color story" on the rest of the outfits -- it's kinda putting me to sleep.

Anonymous said...

I almost had to be revived after looking at the pics of VictorYa's collection, as I pretty much DIED of boredom.

Except for maybe 2 blouse that were kinda dif. and cute, everything else was more than forgettable and I can get it at the mall, right now (!), in a pinch.

So envious (the good kind!) you bitches get to go to the core of the fun! I'll live vicariously through you in the next week. (And every other week, for that matter... hehe)

if i were still that sweet young thang i used to be, i would SO wear that blue skirt/black belt&tights/white blouse outfit to work. i'd toss on a jacket, maybe, or a killer scarf, but i'd be wearing it. that skirt -- very subtly sexy, i think. wonder how much leg i'd be showing when i sat down at the head of the corporate table to take a meeting with a hot young art director who was determined to impress me. *ah, the memories!*

Heidi looks gorgeous. She has such a great smile and she's walking for a good cause. Christian looks adorable in those pictures. I can't wait to hear your take on VictorYA.

heidi is sooooooo dorian gray. sickening. also sickening the neon yellow vest I glimpsed in the photo of V-YA' show.

I'm not sure I understand... you say you LIKE that Marc Jacobs dress?

Anonymous said...

Is there a video of Heidi in that Jacobs dress? I would love to see her workin that runway. Chica can walk!

I've been really surprised that Heidi hasn't said a word about some of the models from PR4. If you get the opportunity, watch the "Meet the Designers" video at Bravo again. The majority of the models walk like their shoes are piercing their feet at each step. Very off-putting to say the least.

That Marc Jacobs dress is hideous. But Heidi's so gorgeous and her body's so perfect that it doesn't detract from her general fabulousness (too much). Her hair looks especially good and it often doesn't.

I'm not so sure if red is a good color for Heidi. I love her hair.

Fashion week is here, and we're only on episode 10 with a bunch of contestants left? Kinda messes up the suspense thing, doesn't it?

And guys -- I know you love Mrs. Seal; I love Mrs. Seal, but that outfit and the styling are FUG.

Christian seems to have enough spare time to go to a lot of fashion shows. He's either done with his collection (which no one ever seems to be) or he's not showing at Bryant Park. Curious.

I'm sure he's showing. Who else? Ricky and Sweet P? Christian lives in NY, and at this point, I'm sure he's done or almost done with his collection.

Mom said...

Oh, who are we kidding -- Christian would have been done assembling his collection the week after he was selected to show in Bryant Park. I interpret his many public appearances in recent weeks as proof that he's showing. And I also interpret Chris and Jillian's absence from NY social events as proof that they're showing, too, and using every last minute they've got.

Heidi definately makes that dress. Thanks for that video link. Funny to see Liza wearing a Liza Minelli costume, but in red.

Princess looks like he went ready to be photographed (wearing make-up). But he and Jack are too cute together. Is there a video link of them making an entrance with Jack carrying Christian in in a gift bag?

That's why it's so important to pick the right model. They can make or break the whole look.

I personally love the dress as is.

OMG! That video is amazing. I would look at stuff like that all day long. Heidi looks incredible and Lisa Rinna is just off the charts. Even Liza looks adorable. Thanks for the vid - really made my day.

Anonymous said...

Lor-dee, that video has some of the most unflattering shots of celebs evah; screen caps could go straight into a National Enquirer "Photos They Didn't Want You To See" issue.

The one of Camryn Mannheim picking her nose, and then a few minutes later licking the same finger? Euuwww. (Granted, the length of the runway elapsed in between, but still. Euuwww.)

Joanie said...

not crazy about Heidi's dress at all, but she does look lovely otherwise.

Vya? Yawn.

Princess was adorable. However, I would have loved to see his feathers all puffed. It's much cuter that way.

Anonymous said...

Edited to say: "a few moments later"...

Yes, I know the finger-licking gesture was pre-planned to elicit a hawt moment, not a cleanup, but please, girl, do your nasal adjustments behind the scrim.

Elisa and Jay! That's so awesome! Hahaha. What a great photo!

katiecoo said...

Fabulous!

My first thought though on seeing that Marc Jacobs dress was "someone would get so auf'd for that crazy thing".

Heidi's hair looks great though, beautiful curvy skinny bitch.

PhantomMinuet said...

When we first saw the pictures of this dress, we weren't too keen on it, but common sense prevailed and we realize that it - and she - looks fabulous.

That's because Frau Seal would look fabulous in a potato sack, much less a myocardial infarction of a dress.

Joanie said...

Watching the video, I do have to say I like how Heidi's dress moved (her little hop was cute, too), but I still wasn't crazy about it.

The other women...wow! Rita Moreno? Liza? Sara Ramirez (she wore a dress very similar to the one for this show at the SAG awards, but in pink), and...oh so many beautiful gowns.

Awkward awards go to Joss Stone, poor Molly Sims (popping out of her dress - quick! Get the boob tape ready!), and Allison Janney (looked like she was really worried about her ass).

Overall great fun, gorgeous color, and lots of fantastic energy for a great cause.

Now if only some of the other collections could rise to the occasion.

katiecoo said...

I actually like the dress better in the stills than when she walked it down the runway. The chica can definitely walk but I didn't care for the dress as much.

I was more impressed with the glimpse of Victorya's collection than I expected to be. There's some really nice stuff!

Anonymous said...

Not crazy about this dress, but Ms. Seal worked it.

Anonymous said...

I read somewhere that she's also wearing red to the Oscars. Attention Season 5 designers, Heidi loves red!!

Anonymous said...

Heidi's dress looks like something that perhaps Elisa would make. It's interesting.

Elisa and Jay look cute.

Anonymous said...

Have you noticed that Princess has some big ol' feet and we all know what that means....

Oh, alright, I'll take my meds but don't hate me for being curious.

Anonymous said...

Aw. Everyone looks so nice all cleaned up!

I like what I've seen of Victorya's collection. It's got a classic vibe with some interesting twists. Highly commercial, but, so what? She's showing to sell.

PR's schedule is just too too wackadoo!

Anonymous said...

Darlings, do watch the video. Liza is looking fantastic.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I was also going to mention Liza rocked it. But Frau Seal worked that dress to the point where you almost like it. She's so at home on that runway.

Anonymous said...

I love Christian"s new hair : )

Anonymous said...

You boys need to be more specific: Is it Jack's pants that you want or having Jack OUT of his pants? (Hee-hee...)

Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to your comments on Victorya's collection. I saw the images on Getty Images and wasn't all that impressed. Some of the colors were great and the pieces appeared to be well-structured and balanced. However, I sensed no joy or life in the collection, kind of what I sensed from Victorya during this season. I think her collection will do well, though, because there are a lot of women who want to look smartly put together without standing out.

Remember that when they are filming PR, the designers are not permitted to go off on their own - ever. Princess Puffysleeves attending the Bryant Park shows is not a good sign.

Perhaps Sweet P hurt him while arm wrestling and he had to go home? Karma can be such a bitch...

12:14 AM

Darling, they finished filming P.R. months ago. That is the only time the designers are not permitted to be alone. Once the final three or four are chosen, they are sent home and given months to design their collection for Fashion Week. They are not kept under lock and key at this point. Since the P.R. fashion show is on Friday, the final designers will probably start shooting again on Monday or Tuesday. Therefore, Christian could very well be showing on Friday.

Anonymous said...

I don't know what video you're looking at but in the first second of Camryn Mannheim's runway walk she's pulling off her sun glasses. At the end of the runway she's putting on lipstick with an applicator. No nasal involvement.

Anonymous said...

I saw the Simpsons Movie last night!
It suddenly hit me...Heidi is wearing Lisa Simpson's dress...
d'oh!!!

Stubenville said...

Oops - my bad 3:00 AM decision; the tragedy of drinking and blogging.

You're correct, the designer finalists return home and are unsupervised while they do their Bryant Park collections. Once they return to NYC a few days before the showing, they are again "in production" and may not go off by themselves. Sorry I didn't make that distinction clear.

Generally they are franticly working on finishing or refining their collections or "locked down" waiting the finale filming. So seeing Princess Puffysleeves coolly attending other Bryant Park shows may not be proof that he was auf'd, but it's not a good sign. Just my spin on the situation; I guess we will all see in a couple of weeks.

Anonymous said...

Boy did the producers of season 4 screw up this time. If the PR final runway show is this Friday, why-o-why are they a week behind in the airings of the show? We'll find out who the final 5 is this week...a week behind finding out who would be showing at Bryant Park. Why did they not air an episode last week and let the reveal come naturally? Or am I missing something?

GothamTomato said...

I do hope Jay blogs about meeting Elisa.

The show would have been SO much better if SweetP had been Auf'd, and Elisa was still there.

The strongest final 6 would have been: Jillain, Christian, Rami, Chris, Kevin & Elisa. (And if Jack's illness had not been a factor, then I'd swap him in for Kevin).

It's kind of cute that both Christian and Eliza wore charturese to Victorya's show.

I am also a little worried that Christian may not be showing at Bryant Park. Remember he was also present at the event held at Mc3 in December, along with Jack and Kevin.

Anonymous said...

WAIT JUST A GOSH-DARN MINUTE!!!!

So, Victorya must have had some advance planning in order to show at Fashion Week. When did she decide what she was going to do?

DURING THE DENIM CHALLENGE.

That's why she looked so "Oh well." It was "Oh well, I obviously can't win against these guys, so I might as well bail out now and go get my other collection finished."

Bitch.

Kit was robbed. Victorya shouldn't have been on the show if she was going to dump and run.

Fnarf said...

The funny thing about Christian is, if you strip away the clothes and the funky haircut and the glasses, he looks like Milton Berle, or one of those other old Jewish Borscht Belt comedians.

Yeah, the more the show's gone on, the more I've missed Elisa, too.

Also, I'm sitting here reallyreallyreally hoping that the Sweet P comment doesn't set off another shitstorm of postings on the subject...

Anonymous said...

I too would like to hear more about Jay's 'obsession' with Elisa and any conversation they may have had....Jay, are you reading this? I suspect that there might be a creative kinship there that is not easily defined.

I really would like to see a full collection from the creative 'outsiders' Elisa and Chris someday, and hopefully that will be sooner rather than later with Chris.

jen in philly said...

I just watched the video of the red dress show... That Kors dress that Lisa Rinna's wearing is just like one I rented in high school for a 1920s party. I remember it as a sign of my naivete at the time since I got a lot of unexpected attention in that dress!

Anonymous said...

Oh, and is it just my imagination, or are we really seeing more beading and sequins from MK (the dress Lisa Rinna was wearing) and other designers after Laura's tenure on PR3, and *much* more color in the wake of Uli and her Miami Vibe?

Just curious...

I think a great final 4 would of been Elisa, Rami, Jillian and Christian.
Yeah some of the other designers were good, but those 4 truly have a specific vision. Very strong and the most unique to themselves.

Anonymous said...

I think we're getting set up for something different and unusual for the finale. I don't remember seeing any of the known non-auf'ed designers in public prior to the PR Bryant Park show.

Oh, and btw, let me start the shitstorm: Sweet P rocks. She'll be this year's Uli, you mark my words.

GothamTomato said...

"sewing siren said: I am also a little worried that Christian may not be showing at Bryant Park. Remember he was also present at the event held at Mc3 in December, along with Jack and Kevin."

I don't think there is any way that Christian cannot be in the final 4. If the final four are not Jillan, Christian, Rami & Chris, the show will lose too much credibility.

I'd think that the only way those 4 could be eliminated would be if there is a wild card judge (like a Nancy O'Dell situation). But I don't think that will happen. I certainly hope not.

But we don't know if we have yet seen the episode that Tim talked about; the one where he said the person who should have been eliminated, won. Maybe that's happening this week.

I was sitting front row across from Christian at the Rubin Singer show, and he was getting stopped non-stop, and he was very gracious and friendly as far as I could see (complete aside: Singer's a newbie with some promise, although I didn't like the show as a whole). In any case, here people may think it' all glam being front row, but Christian and I were in the exact same subway car in the F train afterwards. Heck, Jessica Stam was on th same train another season. Oh, the smoke and mirrors of Fashion Week...

No, Snf I don't think so. Beaded cocktail dresses have been popular (in various forms )since the 20's. And the popularity of color or certain colors comes and goes every season and you always see a Miami vibe in cruise collections.
I wish that show would be more influential on how people are dressing, but I'll tell you I don't see it I went out on New Years Eve and there wasn't a goddam sequin in the place*. It was depressing.

*Not counting me.

All previous seasons had 4 designers showing at Bryant Park. In seasons 1 and 2 Austin and Kara Janx showed as decoys because the show had not yet aired revealing who the final 3 would be. Last season, thay just decided to have a final 4 instead. It remains to be seen what they're doing this year.

Unknown said...

Totally annoyed at the fact that Victorya still showed at Fashion Week. Not that I hold it against her at all, but why the hell did she need Project Runway if she was going to end up there anyway??

Anonymous said...

You know, last season Michael and Jeffery were in the bottom two in the final challenge. If Michael had been voted out (and he easily could have been with what he came up with for that challenge) AND had shown up at Fashion Week before the PR show, I think the same comments would have been made about him that are being made about Christian right now ("I don't think there is any way that Christian cannot be in the final 4."). There is ALWAYS a chance of a quirky challenge (Austin?) that can auf someone everyone is convinced will make it. AND who knows who could be the managing to slide thru Santino of the season (after all, Ricky is still there for god's sake!). I'm just afraid of everyone's confidence that PPS will end up there isn't founded in reality/past-season-viewing-experience/tradition.. I'm just dreading the hostility and virulence that may be in future postings if PPS doesn't make it in the finals.

And BTW, I think/hope PR will whittle it down to 3, personally I always thought they should have had the balls to cut either Michael or Jeffery in the final challenge. I'd love to know WHEN the producers told the judges they could go with four finalists. Was it during the judging discussion process when they realized that fan fav Michael could be cut? I know I would have been crushed if he had been cut, but that is the way things go and I still would have watched the finale (I was always rooting for Laura).

And sorry about the misspelling of Michael — I love his work on PR, but can't ever remember how the hell he spells a perfectly good name.

Seeing Victorya's designs, it was obvious that she made a great effort to present a cohesive collection for fashion week with so many looks in such a short period of time. we have to recognize how difficult this may have been to accomplish as an independent designer. as for criticisms that it may be too "commercial," what designer hopes not to sell their clothes?? And for all of you who missed the show, the place was packed with great looking people who lined up in the rain, and the music was fabulous.

YES!!! i see it!! LOL --- never did before, but it's there (albeit a VERY young mick...)

anyway, as for the heidi dress -- it looks like a red towel wrapped around a black slip. don't like it at all. heidi rocks it - especially when you see it on the video, but it really does nothing for me. i get TLO's point about it looking more revealing than it really is, but it's just such a sack-ey look. of course you could put heidi in a brown paper grocery bag and she would look spectacular (the bitch....).

can't wait to hear the fabulous TLO commentary on victorya's collection -- i found it pretty boring on first glance. lots of cummerbunds and pretty bland styles & colors (except for the bright yellow).
