AK + JS = 4EVER!!!

Oh, who cares what they actually said? Manufactured drama requires manufactured recapping, we say!

"Have to remember to look sad here. This is totally going to get me the $10,000 check."

"Heidi, I'm smiling through my tears. My very tiny, hard-to-see tears."

"Hey, what do you want from me? She was fat."

"I'm sad, but reaching out for closure and healing."

"She was fat."

"Jeffrey's right. She was fat."

"This reminds me of a song. I think I'll sing it.

Do you really want to hurt me?
Do you really want to make me cry?"

"Look, all I have to say is 'Here is the church. Here is the steeple. Open the doors and fuck off, Angela.' "

"Do you like me? Circle one. Yes. No."

Designers: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

If you take the time to watch some of the bonus video from that episode, the Lovely Laura says that Angela got pissy because Tim mentioned that it was a "Formidable task", designing for a larger woman if one had no experience in that area. Evidently, Angela took it to mean that Tim thought her mom was fat.

Formidable = huge in Angela-land.

She was as determined to be offended as Jeffery was to be an ass.

My personal favorite was the "if we had met under different circumstances, we might have been friends."

You know, if I wasn't such a passive-aggressive asshole. And that goes for my Mom too.

She drove me NUTS. Not that JEffrey should have been mean to her Mom, but I don't think I realized how annoying her Mom was until they showed the recap. Did it seem to anyone else that she got more annoying as she aged or something? I remember being horrified by Jeffrey as I was watching that show, and then the other night I was horrified because I was a little in sympathy with him!

And the other designers nearly killing themselves laughing when the Princess of Passive said she could be Jeffrey's best friend, and Jeffrey was totally thinking, "Oh, on what PLANET would I have anyting to do with you?"

You have to blog for as long as the show runs. It could never be as good as it is right now without you two blogging it.

Why Bravo doesn't hire you guys to recap EVERYTHING they do (i.e., in between the shows they could film the 2 of you letting everyone in on what just happened or as promos for the coming week! I'll refrain from the possible rhyming label the producers could attach) is a mystery to me. It would be hilarious! "... Fuck off, Angela"-- LMAO!
As for AK & JS they're not Laura so who cares.

This kills me!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "You guys are the greatest!"

I wish that we didn't have to use the fact that Darlene is a large woman for comedic value....

oh, yeah, and the picture of Freak-out asking "Do you like me? Circle one. Yes or No." is classic. She seems like she belongs in a 5th grade classroom, having been labelled as "nerd," writing love notes and flirting with all the cool punks who push her off the swings during recess. I think we all know (and she's in denial) that she wants to jump Jeffrey's bones. Hell, even I want to jump him. Sexy little rocker-man. Rawr!

Angela was trying to take the high road rather than to get into a shouting match with peanut.

And she did make a great point: When Jeffrey tried to claim that Darlene was planning to diss him on the runway, Angela asserted that no, that was Jeffrey projecting what HE would do in that situation, based on his OWN character. Not what her mom would do.

True. He clearly has issues.

F'n A. TOO FUNNY!!!

junior_goddess said...

Somehow-and I think your darling Laura alluded to it-I think Angela's mom expected to go on the show and model a couture dress. And it didn't happen. Jeffrey built fug.

It still bugs me that the large ladies were picked last and the overwhelming reaction to every single one of them, with the exception of Uli, was to take a tip from Omar the Tentmaker.

I think it's pretty peculiar that both Angela and her mom tried to use the exact same tactic on Jeffrey-"Let's hold hands and make up". With identical results.

Anonymous said...

I did not think what Jeffrey said to Darlene was all that rude. Certainly not compared to what he "could" have said.
Some people just choose to be offended.

bungle said...

Early on in the Mom Challenge we see Jeffery and Darlene "caucusing" about the design. There is a point at which Darlene says something to the effect of "I'm gonna cry cause I feel like I'm holding you back" (NOT verbatim but close enough I think). She was saying tears were gonna be shed on his behalf, out of sympathy. Then later she cries because of him. So regardless of Jeffery's demeanor, she was gonna let loose with the salt water either for him or because of him. Whatever his faults, he got a big nasty surprise in the Angela/Darlene version of The Crying Game.
Plenty of blame to go around for that debacle, and I hope the producers are happy with their drama moment.

Still think Jeffery is all bad?
Well...
One thing that NEEDS to be addressed is that there are a couple a wisegays who make people cry every week. That's right! I bet there are Moms who read this blog. Some laugh till they cry! The PRGays make Moms cry!

YOU HAVEN'T HEARD THE END OF THIS!!!

Anonymous said...

"Why does Angela want to sit at Jeffery's lunch table, anyway?"

I don't think she wants to. She was assigned to that table, and was trying to make the best of it, but the class bully kept smacking her, and those lemmings who were afraid of being targeted by him themselves, went along with him.

But a bully is really, ALWAYS, a coward, and Jeffrey is no exception. A reprehensible coward.

It was telling the way he backed down when Captain Save-a-Ho challenged him on his treatment of Angela. It's easy to pick on a girl, but a big, strapping man, well he COULD kick your ass, so his peanut shrunk pretty quickly.

I agree completely! Just when I thought you couldn't top the Icon challenge entry (when Kayne thought he won), you did it. I'm laughing and crying (bungle was right!).

Thanks, PRGayBoys. I needed that!

This sequence in the show made me sad. Jeffrey's with the cool kids, and Angela wants to be there too. Even though pretty much all the designers acknowledged that he crossed the line, Jeffrey was the one they liked and Angela was out in the cold. Being cool about it was the only way she could go, really, because she wants so desperately to belong. Yes, she's annoying and crazy. I can't see myself wanting to hang out with the woman, either. But still. Kind of a bummer.

Anonymous said...

Okay, people, let's get something straight.... for Jeffy-poo to be kicking and screaming about having to design for a 'woman of size' is freaking hysterical... have any of you actually WATCHED his video bio??? His girlfriend practically needs her own zip code-- she ain't exactly gonna be a poster child for Ethiopia any time soon. And then the fuck stick puts her into a horizontally-striped skirt... yeah, that's design-savvy.

So there.

Anonymous said...

Couple of things.

Lele, I'm a chunky girl too and I found it hysterical as well. I think the PRGBoys got it right with this joke.

"You know, if I wasn't such a passive-aggressive asshole. And that goes for my Mom too."
Oh, this is so true. Psych has been a passion of mine for a large portion of my life and as soon as Darlene openned her mouth, I knew exactly what was happening. This is why I think everyone has been entirely too harsh on Jeffrey about this situation. Not to excuse his actions because he could have handled that in totally different manner. But if you've ever dealt with a passive-agressive during a time like that, you'd probably have found yourself acting a lot like Jeffrey. Everyone thinks Jeffrey's just a gigantic asshole, but speaking as a person who's best friend has a VERY strong personality who also had a major drug problem for several years, he just doesn't know how to handle himself. He's got inner demons he's battling that none of you see, and being put against a woman who firstly his daughter he does not like, the fact that he got stuck with her because of bad luck, and the fact that this woman is insanely passive-agressive....this was a disaster from the get go. Maybe I just see Jeffrey a lot differently than most since I've been up close and personal with people of the same nature and know how to deal with them, but seriously, he's not as bad as the show makes him out to be and he got the major short end of the stick in that challenge dealing with Darlene.

And last but not least, what's this about Jeffrey bitching about designing to an overweight model? I clearly remember it was HIM saying that everyone else was in the tight spot since none of them had (which I'm willing to believe considering this is 98% of the case in high fashion design) and he was amused by them bitching since they'd not done it and the time allowed was halfed.

Also, Angela is a sad sack, plain and simple.

I think I've read this about 30 times now and it still makes me laugh.

Julia: Do we KNOW that Darlene was passive/aggressive? I didn't see that at all. THere was nothing in the footage that demonstrated that. She was standing there & Tim approached her and asked her a question & she answered. And when she walked the runway, she didn't act like a humorless lump, like Vincent's sister did. She actually smiled and tried to work it despite the fact that Jeffrey acted like an asshole, and made her a HIDEOUS outfit.

As for the way Jeffrey acted, and what he said about the oversized models; in Tim's podcast, he said that he felt sorry for Darlene because Jeffrey had added girth to his dress dummy and it was demeaning. Me thinks that HE was the one who is passive/aggressive, as well as aggressive/aggressive.

And as for his drug use & demons; so what? Having been abused does not give you license to abuse others yourself. What- is everyone he comes in contact with supposed to pay because poor little Jeffrey has a wounded soul and cannot handle reality??

Nope. Sorry. Doesn't wash. I've dealt with substance abusers myself. They are manipulative through & through, and Jeffrey is no exception. He worked as hard as he could to try to demonize Angela to distract others from his own glaring shortcomings. He saw a weakness in her and he exploited it for all he could. He gets no sympathy from me (and shouldn't from anyone else either). He is despicable.

Everyone seems to forget that Jeffrey is the ONLY person who came close to saying something nice about Darlene's looks (although not in a particularly nice way).

When he's telling her that he hopes she likes his dress, he also tells her that there are aspects of herself that are attractive but that she can't see them because of her own "insecurities."

In other words, "You're fat and insecure but you're still beautiful!"

OK, it's a stretch.

Absolutely agree w/ Anonymous 10:08. But TALP is not the whole problem here. Angela and her mother wussed out. My mother would not have demurely said, "no one's ever talked to me this way". She would have snatched TALP by the ear, dragged him to his own mother and shouted, "TELL YOUR MOTHER WHAT YOU JUST SAID TO ME". Were I Angela and some tiny drug vomit soaked legume treated my mother so cruelly, instead of trying to reason w/ the unreasonable, I would've tied him to my bumper and hit the gas pedal. Winning contests totally pale in comparison next to upholding a mother's honor.

"Here is the church..."

It's a line from a children's nursery rhyme/game.

"Here is the church..."

(Hands folded together fingers crossed and inside the palms)

"And here is the steeple..."

(Raise the index fingers to form steeple)

"Open the doors and here are all the people."

(Flip hands over and open so fingers are waving - like Jeffrey's are in the picture)

yes totally hysterical this whole thing. angela just wants to be loved, she can't help that her mom is such a lump, jeffrey did make something ugly for angela's mother but he did try to say hey shut up and hold still but angela's mom was all set to be wah-wah! make me beautiful, no not like that, or that, or that or that or that...

angela mobbed in LA? wtf!

Gwen said...

Actually, what a lot of people don't realize is that Darlene, Angela's mother, used to be a heroin addict. Therefore, she has inner demons to battle that are invisible to everyone else. Everyone around her should accept her passive-aggressive behavior with a little empathy and understanding. I know, because I used to sleep with someone exactly like Darlene, and when she whined at me, I just whispered, "Oh, you poor little ex-junkie, you," and bore it as best I could.

More understanding for people battling invisible demons!

Actually, also, Vincent is battling invisible demons, too. They come into his mind and fluff & fold his laundry every night.

Empathy, people. Empathy!!!

At the very, very end -- Angela could have made yet another subtle dig at Jeffrey by predicting that any of the other three would win and a cute little add-on like "S/He is clearly the most talented of the four" ...

But, she didn't. She said it was anybody's game. Not exactly pro-Jeffrey, but a nod to the fact that he's talented, or at least *as* talented as his competition. It was a classy move, I thought.

Anonymous said...

The episode after the Mom challenge was full of Jeffrey trying to anger (read get attention) from Angela. I thought it was just like a 7 year old boy pulling the hair of the girl he likes. Call me crazy, but I think Jeffrey has an unacknowledged attraction to Angela that makes him very conflicted. It's like "doth protest too much." Also, after the recap of the Mom challenge on the reunion show, the rest of the designers seemed to be saying the same thing AK + JS indeed!

God, Captain Save-a-ho from the 'hood! That was priceless. And Angela only said all that stuff to make herself look good and to make Jeff look bad. I'm not saying I'd be his friend, because he's hideous and pretty offensive, but he's a good designer and a better human being than either of one of the Ohio cryers.
