"I didn't have a Plan B."

Michael Ausiello of TV Guide has a sweet, funny, informative interview with Miss Siriano. Rarely do you see a reality television star (let alone a fashion designer) who is this comfortable and polished doing press. We continue to be more and more impressed by Christian.

UPDATE: Princess on Ellen

  2. I smiled like a silly person the first half of the interview, and then when they showed him on the runway, crying and winning, I cried.

Man, I really like this kid. He's by far the fiercest winner yet.

I hope his momma is just so proud.

  3. That was so sweet!!! Thank you, guys! I love him!!

  4. Great interview! Christian is so comfortable in his own skin, unlike other finalists. You go, Princess!!

  5. Really, he just seems like a great kid. What an easy-to-watch interview.

  6. like Tim said in an interview, he is like an old soul, he seems so mature for his age. In these days when young "celebrities" have become the expected train wreck, let's hope he can keep his head cool and work hard to get his business going. It seems he is in the right track. I wish he could do pants other than skinny jeans, which I cannot wear :-(

  7. This was a cute interview. I liked Christian a lot here. He was fun and lighthearted and diplomatic when asked about other contestants work.

I would have been rooting for him much more during the show if every time they interviewed him he wasn't saying that all other designers work was home sewn crap. You can be fierce with out being a brat (as he just showed).

    Thanks for posting this boys!

  8. He is funny, sincere, even witty and he does it all without swearing - maybe Jay can learn something from the new guy.

  9. So lovable. Please Bravo, give us that spin-off!

  10. awww ... lay off jay.

I'll admit, Christian did win me over a bit here.

  11. He is one sharp cookie. I don't think Tim need fear so much about him getting taken advantage of, but that said, he will need all the strategic alliances he can get. But how impressed am I that (as I've discerned from his various post-win interviews) he already has samples whipped up for Posh? If Princess can indeed capitalize on this win -- and do it quickly before his fame fades -- he might just be the most successful PR contestant yet.

  12. I just love him-- I agree with Lima Bean -- I hope we keep hearing good things about him.

  13. I really wasn't a Christian fan, but seeing this interview has made me a believer. I just wanted to hug him!!!

  14. I loved this interview. he seemed smart and level-headed. I'm really rooting for him to make it now.

  15. I loved how it opened up with Christian doing his hair. Great interview with two girlfriends just dishing on fashion. So fierce!

  16. He's not just the fierce little, totable, reality show character; He's got a good head on his shoulders.

That should hold him in good stead in growing a business.

  17. What a great interview. You could almost imagine being friends with him. He came off as sweet AND intelligent.

    And he is TOTALLY fierce.

  18. agnes gooch said, But how impressed am I that (as I've discerned from his various post-win interviews) he already has samples whipped up for Posh?

It was pretty notable how fast he sewed. And if we didn't notice, he sure called it to our attention often enough! Usually in the context of dissing the other contestants.

I must say, it was nice for a change to see an interview with him where he didn't get negative about other people.

  19. I'm growing to love and respect that kid more and more. He is truly fierce! I hope he can make a go of it. If so, he will be MAY-JUH!

  20. Great interview, but my favorite part was the Tim Gunn Bobblehead on the table in between them.

  21. And the Ellen interview is very poised as well! He did say "like" a few times too many, but that's just a mark of his youth and otherwise the discussion was completely to his credit.

  23. Very diplomatic answer about the"most tragic" outfit. Good for you, Christian.

  24. I just looked again at that moment when Christian won and was overcome, and Rami went over to him and quietly said, "Stand up." That was really sweet.

  25. uh oh......did we (here at PRG) have it wrong all this time?!

Christian refers to the sleeves he designs as "poofy" not puffy.

    Princess Poofy Sleeves?!?

Anywho....both those interviews were chalk-full of charm and personality. I loved the first one where the camera panned out for us to see Christian working the host's hair.

  26. I think Bravo will be making a HUGE mistake if they don't give this kid a spin-off show! Maybe follow him around while he tries to get start up his label. We could even be introduced to some of his friends and see what he's really like. I would watch.

  27. Agreed, lilithcat, that PPS often called attention to his sewing speed during the show, but I'm talking about how he's actually putting it to use now. How many aufed designers have failed to capitalize immediately on their fame? I know I've gone to many designers' Web sites, just to see if they've got something I could buy after their aufings, and they rarely do.

But agreed also that the Princess's post-win interviews have avoided the negative very nicely. Perhaps a lot of it was, as they always claim, an act for the show?

  28. I have to say that I wasn't a huge fan but reading (and watching) his interviews this past few days has changed my mind about Princess. He is truly FIERCE!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. CHRISTIAN ROCKS!!! Is he the best??? I'm so happy he won.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So when does PPS' spin-off show start filming?

    LOVE him.

  31. He was clearly soooo excited to meet Ellen. I love it.

Mmmmm...Not so sure about that. Maybe a one-shot thing, but not a series.

I think he'd need to be careful about that, so he doesn't end up like Grady or Phyllis.

  33. I also wasn't a huge Christian fan at first, but he has really grown on me. He is so talented for his young age. I'm it's so cool that he was on Ellen!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. He's really something! And how wild to have millions of people already know who you are at the beginning of your career!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love Christian, and he has many great qualities. But "polished" I can't give you -- not with 19+ (I lost count) instances of "like" in 5 minutes. Jenny

  36. I was so sad when I flipped on the TV this morning and the program info said "Project Runway winner"..and I missed it! Leave it to you two to take care of me. <3 :P

But really, he's everything a Project Runway winner should be. Extremely talented, great with the press, and he has a magnificent personality.

    ReplyDelete
  37. thanks for posting the clips! he really is ADORABLE & FIERCE! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm not surprised by his ease at interviewing. He always seemed to me the one who was good at people relations, especially with celebrities (he had no problem challenging Heidi to a walk off, after all). He'll go far.

  39. Maybe a one-shot thing, but not a series. I think he'd need to be careful about that, so he doesn't end up like Grady or Phyllis.

Wow, Gotham. I'm not sure whether to be more scared that you said that or that I remember both shows.

Considering Victoria Beckham's planned "series" ended up a one-shot deal, that might be our answer right there. I'd watch it.

  40. He is fun and talented. He just fits right in and will be a great asset to the fashion/entertainment industry. I would love to see him succeed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. he was flawless on ellen!! he looked amazing and I loved the clothes he showed her/his sketches for ellen! plus I also agree he should have a spinoff!!! he is so hilarious! i know i'd watch!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I loved hearing him talk about his family and how supportive they were of him.
It is not many parents who would say "ok" when their 13 year old asks if they could work at a hair salon or even go all the way to the UK right after high school.
I think they sound pretty awesome.

Thanks as always for the updates.

  43. The only curmudgeonly thing I can say is that I really don't want to see Ellen (or anyone else, except maybe the Siriano family) in a "Team Fierce" T-shirt.

I was really intrigued by that second design he had for her, though.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I LOVE HIM!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Good for Christian! He could read a phone book and make me smile!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think he's incredibly talented, but I just can't warm up to him because of his non-stop trashing of the other contestants.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I must have missed that...when did he 'trash' the other contestants?

  48. I'm so proud of Princess! She's the best, isn't she?
