Previews, Poodles!

"In this challenge, the designers will be charged with grabbing everything they can from the "Hershey's Times Square" store (except clothes) to construct their next design."

And guess what, darlings? A guest judge from a past season makes a comeback!

What do they do with smashed pottery? That's a new one.

From the camera time that certain individuals get, it looks like it is easy enough to tell who might be in and who might be out. Princess P didn't catch much lens time so hopefully he is safe in the middle of the pack this week. With all the gushing, it looks like Chris might be safe too.

I'm dying to hear Elisa's story. She just gets more interesting every week.

Well, this is the challenge that would have done me in. Everyone else would be sewing away, while I would be sprawled in the corner, in a sugar coma.

But, do we think that the 'simple' criticism, is aimed at a designer who decided to simply fondue their model?

I think so.

Another stupid challenge! What the fuck is wrong with just using fabrics and a sewing machine? Let's just hope that Pine Sol® Lemon Fresh All Purpose Cleaner never sponsors Project Runway.

I hope it's DVF! I loved her as a guest judge.
DO NOT TELL ME. I don't want to know who the guest judge is :-)

But will we see Ricky cry chocolate tears?

I'm wanting to hear Elisa's story as well, though I'm also wondering if her dress dummy will be pressing charges.

Ah Elisa, You can't wax about a past you didn't have. You only have this life right now, and move on as you're doing so well.

Looks like Victorya will go through. More than likely she'll go to the final 3. She seems to fly under the radar --no as fun as the others and I have to say, not daring. Competent but leaves one cold. Despite her designs, I think this is what people respond to.

Can't WAIT!

LOL. Me too. You should see the amount of cookies and chocolate treats I have in my house right now.

I can't stand her. I just don't understand what the judges see in her, her designs are boring. Hello Nina? You hate BORING, right?

Anonymous said...

I agree about Victorya. I just saw her designs on her site Na.be and the shapes and colors left me cold.

If she wins, then we're left with yellow belts on gray dresses?

Oh, NO! Elisa is telling her sad background story...that inevitably leads to an auf'ing, either in the sob story episode or the one after...NOOOOO!

Anonymous said...

if they're giving Elisa the chance to tell her story and get us all emotional and attached ... it probably means that she's auf'd.

too bad, I really like her.

Anonymous said...

Oh no, I don't want Elisa to get auf'ed!

And yeah, me too, with the chocolate/sugar rush I would have been stabbing people with shears instead of than sewing.

But seriously, what? Hershey's store? So we get kisses crushed and smushed onto linen? or models wrapped in itty bitty pieces of tin foil? What the hell. pooo on Bravo.

I really hope it's not jump the shark time, kittens.

Isn't that Zac Posen sitting next to Ninagarciastyleeditorofellmagazine in the second video?

When does this episode air?

I love how Elisa can't just say.."I got hit by a car in London" its, "I took full impact as a pedestrian by a Porsche"
Poor thing.
The sad story is Auf Forshadowing.

But it does sound right up Sissybear's alley!! Yea!!!

Anonymous said...

I love how Elisa can't just say.."I got hit by a car in London" its, "I took full impact as a pedestrian by a Porsche"

I DIED when she said that - it's soo Elisa to try to make her experience tart off ssounding like a yoga pose or something.

Anonymous said...

Oh, dang. VictorYa looks a little pissy, maybe someone will give HER a hard time. The big monologues seem to be Ricky and Elisa, wonder who's gonna get the axe?

bitchesdye said...

I'm sure the judges' comments are not directed to whomever they show afterwards. Bravo loves to mess with out minds.

Makes me worry for sissybear.

Anonymous said...

I hate this hiatus. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be tempted to get any PR I can and be spoiled by the previews. Ah well. Still can't wait to see what they do with the materials! I love these kinds of unique challenges.

My vote for the guest judge is Zac Posen.

Anonymous said...

No, I don't want Elisa to go. I love her! What the hell is Ricky still doing there?

Bill said...

Elisa is walking through the workroom enjoying some all-natural organic peanut butter. Ricky runs over to the Blue Fly Wall while eating a chocolate bar.

WHAM!!

Their collision sends Elisa flying down on top of her dress dummy as she cries out, "You got chocolate in my peanut butter!" She starts having flashbacks to taking "full impact impact as a pedestrian by a Porsche."

Ricky runs away in tears screeching, "You got peanut butter on my chocolate!"

But fashion genius strikes Ricky despite his tears. He wins the challenge with a Peanut Butter Cup inspired design. A pleated brown skirt resembling the paper cup paired with a chocolate brown jacket enveloping a peanut butter colored knit top.

It's two great looks that look great together!!

Someone please recap what is said in the videos. I am at work and we don't have speakers here. I can watch it but I don't know what they are saying. I did see Elisa with her dress form laying down(how weird)

I love when they have these "make clothes out of unconventional materials" challenges. I don't want too many in one season, but it's part of what makes PR fun.

And as someone pointed out, this should be right up Chris' alley as a costume designer. I'm sure the preview is extremely misleading as far as which comments are made to which designers--but I hope Chris makes it to the top group. And I hope the prior comments are wrong about the foreshadowing of an auf for Elisa-but sigh, they're probably right.

Kanani said...

For all her quirkiness, I'd love to see Elisa in the final 3. I'm also interested in Kitt because she's offered such a consistent vision. Christian --he's one you can't stop watching even when he can't pull things off. Sweet P cracks me up because she's always in such a "What do I do?" frame of mind and then manages to get through --even with that hilarious send up of menswear! The question is whether or not Victorya will "pull a Wendy" and get to the final 3.
Cheers everyone --you're all terrific!

But frankly --my favorite was always Jack.

LOL, bill!!! freakin' brilliant! it needs to happen now.

looks like the guest judge is zac posen. he's a fun one. i'm hoping the elisa sob story does not lead to her aufing. she's too entertaining. instead it seems that sweet p was getting the harshest commentary in the clip. and could chris actually be getting a compliment for once? huzzah! victorya needs to go. i'm waitng for the day nina calls her out for being so BORING.

also loving the ricky v princess queen bitch rivalry. more tears, please!!

That's definitely Zac Posen - you can spot him for a moment at about the 00:15 mark.

Hi Janie,

This is the best I can do now :)

Heidi – Tell us a little bit about your dress.
Michael – It could’ve turned out to have been silly looking.
Sweet P – Like I am more simple in my aesthetic.
Nina – But simple can be fantastic, I mean, I’m not…I love simple.
Michael – So I think you got the charm, yeah, it looks great.
Heidi – So many amazing things to work with.
Michael - It lost the joy of being fun.
Nina – Playful…
Michael – Deliciously chic…
Chris – Thank you.
Nina – You did a great job.
Michael – This to me doesn’t look wearable and it doesn’t look fanciful either.
Jillian – Thank you.
Michael – You got nervous that you were going to go like totally berserk.
Rami – Thank you.
Michael – You know, I have to look at each designer differently. And from you I have to say I think that this is a really smart editing choice.
Nina – She’s all set comparatively with the rest it looks like it was very easy.
Michael – No sense of…kind of smile or joy to it to me.
Heidi – One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.

The challenge:
"In this challenge, the designers will be charged with grabbing everything they can from the "Hershey's Times Square" store (except clothes) to construct their next design."

Tim tells them it has to wearable; Sweet P is smashing something and she says that "it's pretty loud"; Ricky complains about Christian and that "he's caught in his own ego"; Elisa talks about her experience getting hit by a car and that project runway, she says, is "an attempt to somehow reclaim a life I could have if I hadn't been hit by a car."

Anonymous said...

Bia, you are so sweet for doing that. Thank you so much. I totally understand now.

Elisa was hit by a car? That is terrible. I am sure we will hear more about it on the show.

Janie

Anonymous said...

Elisa should be ashamed of herself for going on TV like that. I didn't notice it until Janie said something, but now that I watch the video again, I see her feet are horribly dirty.

GothamTomato said...

"finding the filth said: instead it seems that sweet p was getting the harshest commentary in the clip."

It would be about time for that. SweetP has produced nothing but garbage and excuses so far, yet for some reason, Nina, who clearly hates excuses, has not yet stomped on her little neck.

Sadly though, from the clip, Nina's response to the latest excuse does not look like the cold stare she usually reserves for those designers who dare mention the time constraints, etc. Instead it looks like Nina's more patient face; the one that still finds the mouse on the wheel entertaining, rather than the face that forshadows the execution.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope they've switched faces to throw us off & Sweet P goes.

I want to see Elisa in the finals.

Elisa does yoga in the apartment and maybe in the breakroom too-- if the floors aren't cleaned every day her feet would get dirty. And I seriously doubt that Parsons is mopping up after these guys daily.

mjude said...

i agree it looks like Zac Posen.

how many more days? lol

Anonymous said...

Yoga or not, she could wear socks or at least wash her feet.

Anonymous said...

Elisa was hit by a car! That explains it. Poor thing, she had a head injury and that is what made her so loopy. Bless her heart. It must have been terrible. I really feel sorry for her now.

GothamTomato said...

She was undoubtedly just walking around in her bare feet in the workroom because of the heat (& NY floors get dirty).

The show was taped in the summertime, and with that & all the lights, it's probably like a sauna in there.

--GothamTomato

Anonymous said...

I bet this is the episode Tim talked about in an interview before the season. He - and the designer in question - were dead sure s/he would be out because the outfit was that ridiculous while everyone elses was just fine.

Instead, the judges went ahead and proclaimed that designer the winner.

So from the previews I would say Sweet P is the winner, despite her unconventional materials. I agree that Elisa gets the Auf edit and so she is out.

I really hope it's not Sissybear. But this challenge should suit him better than any of the others.

Anonymous said...

gotham tomato, I'm with you, Elisa all the way to the finals, please, Bravo! She's a very interesting spirit and for reality TV purposes, she is a contrast to the weepers and gayboys.

I just don't know what to make of Kevin. In this clip it sounds like they're setting him up to get auf'ed for a challenge that Christopher wins.

She could have been on PR season 1?

She coulda been a CONDTENDAH!!

What else could she have been? (I mean in THIS life, not past ones.....)

Seriously, she gets more interesting all the time. Which makes me fear her imminent aufing.

Come on, that is offensive.

Was that a preview? Or just an episode of PR without clothes? They gave WAY too much away. I know they're the experts of the diversionary edit, but this time they gave us the final six. Argh.

There's nothing offensive about what she said. Let's not look for things that aren't there.

Anonymous said...

Elisa is definitely one of the most interesting designers and I hope we get to see a lot more of her designs and creativity.

Anonymous said...

No, that's no offensive. To a Republican.

Anonymous said...

If the edit isn't deceiving, the final six are given away in that clip. The three who say "thank you" are Jillian, Chris, and Rami, so it seems we're meant to think they are the top three. That leaves Sweet P, Elisa, and Victorya for the bottom. Elisa's was the only dress we got a significant glimpse of -- chocolate brown with "HERSHEY'S" across the chest really big. I'm scared for Elisa.

You can never tell by the previews, they can edit it to make you think whatever.

Mom said...

My goodness, a lot of people seem to be having sugar crashes today!

But these previews...hmmmm...that second one is just a big old mind fuck, isn't it? But if you follow the eye angles, it does seem as if Elisa is coming in for the bulk of negativity. I'm going to be very bummed if she goes, but it sure does seem as if she's doomed. And Chris does seem to be breathing the risk-taking-winner sigh of relief. I hope.

I am racking my brains trying to remember the specific challenge Zac Posen judged in the past..... I can just picture him sitting in the judge's chair.....wasn't he wearing some sort of neck finery? Would you call that a cravat? But what the heck was he judging??

Help me out here.

By the way, fabulous site, guys. I followed a link from EW and am glad I did.

I think that the guest judge is Zac Posen. Our own little poodle TLo gave us clues to this in their previous post. (No fair going after my bad english in that sentance! TLo is/are both single and plural).

In the post, there is a picture of Posh and discussion that she will be a guest judge. Then, in the caption of the picture of Posh, the boys tell us that she is wearing a Zac Posen dress. All of this while shooting for Elle Mag.

It only stands to reason that since Elle (ninahgahseeyah), Zac and Posh are already snuggling up together in that project, that they are already in for PR4.

I also looked at Zac's Spring 2008 line today. Hmmm/odd. Link can be found in above referenced post.

Question about a totally off-base topic but I think y'all would know better than anyone.

The music on the Top Chef Holiday reminded me of the music on Laura's runway show last season. I've tried to find out who the band/group is but all I can find are comments of how much people hated it. Does anyone know the name of the group? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

The editing in that preview is whickety-whack...impossible to guess who's going to be shit-canned. I'm truly hoping it's not Elisa, because I would reeeeally love to see a full collection of hers walk down the runway.
Ricky needs to go.

Anonymous said...

I hope Chris wins this challenge. He is very talented. I don't think people give enough credit for his designs.

It looks like Chris will be the winner. Awesome!!

Crow Winters said...

Is Bravo's gameplan these days to just go ahead and give the winner/loser before the show airs? What's the point of editing at all anymore?

Anonymous said...

I read with alarm some responses to an earlier comment of mine. It wasn't my intent. Homophobe is a pretty strong word to throw around, too.

Here's what I wrote:

"gotham tomato, I'm with you, Elisa all the way to the finals, please, Bravo! She's a very interesting spirit and for reality TV purposes, she is a contrast to the weepers and gayboys."

If you can explain why having Elisa on reality show as a contrast to weepers and gayboys is homophobic I will fall on my sword and apologize. Is it the use of the word 'gayboys'?

I actually am interested, I'm not intending to be snarky.

Anonymous said...

You know what? Forget it. I see how contrasting Elisa's reality show presence to weepers and gayboys can be considered insulting to PR contestants who are gay and/or the type of person who is reality show gold because of being subject to weeping fits.

I just meant contrast, not a subjective evaluation of what was better or worse. It's the tension among the people that makes for good reality, if all the contestants were one personality type it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. That's what I meant, but clearly some people took offense.

I'll apologize for unintentionally insulting remarks and let's just have a happy New Year being friends and fans of PR?

Hmmm. Is Kit the only one missing from these previews?

Oh, god. I want Elisa to hang around for awhile longer.

I don't mean to be spoiler-y (if so), but why oh why does http://www.seenon.com/project-runway/ already have a new person gray-ed out on their main site picture?! I'll be so sad if this is indeed the outcome of tomorrow, both because of the person it is and because I've now spoiled it for myself accidentally. Click at your own risk I suppose.
