  5. Awwww, I love it! His face when he says "I love hats" is priceless.

  6. Martha + Tim = World Domination

I despise Macy's -- but I can deal with this by repeating, "Federated also owns Bloomngdales, Federated also owns Bloomingdales" over and over.

  7. oh, This one is cute....I wish I saw this Tim on his show....his face makes me laugh. Can we get this production team to work on Tim's show?

  8. I hate Martha Stewart, but Tim looks cute.

  9. So cute!! I love Tim Gunn!!!

  10. THIS is Tim.

I don't know if the difference in the way he appears here, as opposed to his new show is in the directing or the chemistry with coworkers, but in this commercial his personality sings like I wish it did on the new show.

Maybe he should do a show with Martha. I always believed that Martha Stewart was the anti-Christ, but since those pesky conservatives sent her to jail, I like her.

Tim & Martha make a cute TV couple.

I agree 100%. This is the Tim we love. What the hell happened with TGGTS?

  12. Sorry, I'm not loving it. Love Tim, love Martha, don't love the commercial, and I certainly don't love Macy's.

Bwahahaha! Sums up my feelings for her (although Pat Robertson gets my vote for the anti-Christ).

The million dollar question for Tim is: "How do you fell about Vagina Hats?"

  14. Hate Macy’s, being from Chicago and missing Fields, but have to echo the many comments of how much fun Tim is in this commercial. Even Martha, who usually projects the personality of a cedar shingle, comes off as warm and amusing. And I also “love hats”!

  15. Another 'thumbs-up" for Tim here--and even for Martha. Alexis needs to get some of that hair our of her face, but she is very attractive.
Also hate macys, but I like this commercial a lot.

I'm with you, girl. Except the loving Martha bit. It's starting to seem like Tim can't say no, which seems pretty out of character, actually.

Alexis (not from the commercial, obviously)

  17. I turned on my TV this morning and saw this and my first thought was, "What the hell...?" But it's actually cute! I like the way he plays off of Martha.

  18. Ha, these new commercials are the absolute best thing about Macy's. Maybe there is hope for them.

  19. I like the commercial. I think it's very creative.

  20. Tim needs to take a break. I'm afraid to look under my bed and see his face there.

We are seeing the commodification of Tim Gunn. Sadly for my beloved Tim, the fact is that the more readily available something is, the less it is valued. Whatever happened to "playing hard to get"?

  24. Aw. It's cute

  27. Why does everyone hate Macy's? Just wondering... There's not one near me, but when I get to a larger city with one, I always find something there I want.

  28. Love the commercial. Wish the GTS people knew how to show Tim at his charming best.

  29. I love it! Tim is the best!!

  30. I hate to see this, but I'm beginning to get sick of seeing Tim everywhere.

  31. Macy's is good for people who don't mind looking like clones wearing last seasons looks. lol. I didn't have Macy's until I moved last year. It's bad but so is shopping at malls in general.

  32. Overexposed!!!!!

Tim, rein it in before the whole country is sick of you. And preserve some diginity. i mean really, Martha Stewart?

    ReplyDelete
  33. For Anonymous wondering about the Macy's Hate Parade-- a lot of people resent Macy's for taking over their beloved local/regional department stores such as Marshall Field's and homogenizing them under the Macy's brand.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Overexposed - you must be kidding. He's someone we are all of the lookout for so of course he will seem to be everywhere. His show is int he beginning of building an audience. His new big fancy fashion company job is just beginning. He needs to get his face and name out there. Also, he needs to keep people thinking about PR4 since it appears that we have to go through another whole new series on Bravo before we even think about having PR start for the season.

  36. oh my goodness! that is the most adorable thing i've ever seen.

"i love hats!" with that precious smile on his face.

    tim gunn is a doll.

  37. Adorable! I'll watch anything with Tim Gunn in it.

  38. Tim is such a genuinely great man, and I applaud him for what he's doing for women.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Awesome commercial! Tim you are the greatest!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Now THIS is Tim gunn at his best. Not that horrible TGGTS messy tangle of bad direction and poor editing.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm so, so tired of Macy's and their polyester crap clothes and their bid to buy up and replace every other department store in all of America.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love love love Tim, but Tim honey...you are selling your soul.

    ReplyDelete
  43. TIM. And MARTHA. TOGETHER.

I could explode from the happiness, darlings!

However--when Martha led Tim off to cookware in search of a hat, was I the only one who immediately thought they'd find crazyman Vincent Libretti over there, sticking a colander on his model's head and talking about how it got him off?

    ReplyDelete
  44. The first time I heard him say, "I love hats!" my immediate thought was, "Oh, Vincent...!"

    Well... *good* hats.

Love the commmercial, hope they can revamp the show to something more like this. It has such potential, dammit!

  45. And on the subject of Macy's... even if I could afford to shop there, I probably wouldn't. Their purchase--and subsequent stripping to the walls--of the classic Bullocks Wilshire store in Los Angeles made a heavy black mark in our record book. At least the building wasn't torn down.
