Nikolaki Spring 2008 Collection

Nick Verreos and David Paul debuted their Resort/Spring 2008 Nikolaki Collection at the W San Diego Hotel on August 16th and it's appropriately dramatic, goddess-y and FIERCE, girl!

After the show, Nick served drinks as the celebrity bartender in the hotel's Living Room bar.

Nick, stop playing with your hose and get back to work!

More about the show at BPR.

UPDATE: You can watch the show here.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Snort!

Is it me, or does the short pink backless look like one of Chloe's runway dresses?

  3. Aww, Nick looks adorable behind the bar. Fabulous collection too.

  4. Oh. I love Uncle Nick! Isn't he adorable?

  5. Hate the pink satin. It's a wretched color, and the fit on the short dress is terrible. And yes, the pink does look like Chloes.

Adore the blue-green. IMHO, you just can't go wrong with that color and white.

  6. LOVE the dress that's black & white, with the pink belt. That color combo always makes me think of Good & Plenty. I only wish I had the legs for it!

And Nick always makes me smile.

I agree. He should have his own show.

  8. Gorgeous collection! Love it! (Some more than others, but all around beautiful.)

  9. Great collection! I'm not crazy about the pink dress, but I really like all the black and white ones.

  12. Love Nick and wish him every success, but I'm not feeling it with this collection.

  13. Thanks for the shout-out, gentlemen. We had a wonderful time in San Diego!

  14. The short dress with the gold band at the top (NOT ASYMMETRICAL) is the only one of these dresses that I would consider. The others look poorly sewn (look at the puckers!) and like a teenager designed them in home ec class. If you are going to go simple, you have to do it perfectly.

  15. awww. he was in San Diego? Boooo... i missed it! I lives blocks away from the W hotel too!

  16. Oh, Nick is my favorite. I'm so happy he's doing well.

  17. I met Nick and his hottie boyfriend at my school. I'll never forget how nice he was. I said "Nick from PR? Oh my god, I love you," he smiled and gave me a big hug.

  18. Uncle Nick! Dig the clothes, but I thought Chloe, and a bit of Uli.

I want Uncle Nick to make me a martini!

  19. I'm from SD and by the time I tried to get rsvp'd two WEEKS ago, it was already sold out (Laura K-- so jealous)! Looks like the event was lots of fun. The designs are incredible. The colors are unique and alluring.

  22. I LOVE UNCLE NICK!!!

  23. That pink dress is exactly the same as Chloe's dress. But I think chloe's was in blue? Otherwise, I like most of it.

  24. I'm just glad he FINALLY let go of those fishtail hems and that wing thing he seems to put on the back of a lot of his stuff, although he can't seem to get past the one shouldered look. I liked the collection, he's definitely growing as a designer.

  25. I like the fabrics a lot. Nick does silk really well.

  26. I like almost everything (the short pink dress does nothing for me). LOVE the Grecian influence, and the shots of Nick are adorable. He has the most infectious grin.

  27. Nick looks a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e in that shot with models. It reminds me of the Robert Palmer video from the 1980s with all the girls dressed alike.

Ooh, and this one, too. Finally, a reason to have small boobs!

  30. Nick has the most beautiful smile & a sweet disposition to boot:)

  31. NICK IS SO HOT!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yawn. I don't care much for Nick's style.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i wish there were more separates...

but a lot of the dresses were very beautiful.

i'd say that some (such as the turquoise and white-flowered gown on amanda) worked better than others (i thought the white gown with black bolero felt oddly michael vollbracht-making-a-mistake).

but most were really beautiful "fierce nick" gowns that everyone loves. great job nick :D!

  34. Beautiful gowns, great hair and makeup. Fierce! Great job, Nick!!

  35. I love his designs. It's also impressive that Nick sticks to his aesthetic and doesn't "jump around" much.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like the black ballet-skirt (is that what the style is called?) with pink belt, although I'm not crazy about its white top.

A bit disappointed with the fabric choices. Maybe it's just the pix?

    He is a cutie, though!

  37. Aww, I want Nick to serve me a cosmo and talk about PR stuff. He's so cute, and his BF is a sweetheart.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love the short dresses. Are they going to be available on his site?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Is that his sister (third row, second picture)? She's beautiful.

  40. totally LOVING nick's designs with the exception of the pink one. almost like a bad 80's prom dress lol

project runway has always been my guilty pleasure as i don't watch much t.v. your blog is absolutely FABULOUS, dahlings..and if u don't mind, i'm gonna add the link to my blog to visit more often.

  41. Hate the last white one, but love the little black, white, and pink on!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Love Nick and the first black and white gown, the rest of his collection not so much.

And where are all these resorts that require packing an evening gown? Is 'resort' just a code word for summery evening wear?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am so glad MIN said it first...I kept thinking "pretty, but it looks an awful lot like a Chloe collection. All those shiny fabrics- de rigueur but boring when you dont put them with something that contrasts."

    ReplyDelete
  44. I really like the collection. It's feminine without being too girly, and flattering without being overly dressy. Great job on hair and makeup on the models.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Amanda looks gorgeous. She's so tall, and what a great model she is.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Absolutely stunning.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Fabulous! Superbly sexy without looking the least bit vulgar.

    ReplyDelete
  48. FABU! Nick is fierce. I love his stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Amanda looks great, as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Lovely! Great work by Nick. I'm so proud of him. Unlike that whiny queen Jay McCarroll, Nick has been productive with his time and produced beautiful clothes. He's amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't know if it's just me, but that short fuschia/magenta dress looks SUPER CHLOE-DAO-ISH. Everything about it (the color, the fabric, the cutting)

    ReplyDelete
  52. There really is nothing completely new under the sun, is there? I see influence from Chloe in several dresses, not only the pink but the long black/white and others, Uli, Dirty Diana (remember her goddess lingerie?) and *gasp* Daniel Franco.

  53. puke! these are some real clunkers! Almost all of them are hideous and really really amateur looking. So many were wrinkled and almost all of them had puckered seams. So many of them were repetitive designs and really unnecessary. I can't believe you guys let these horrible outfits go by without some criticism.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm afraid I too do not have a high opinion of this collection. Chloe's satin dresses, not done as well, Daniels' (both necklines and banding, Santino's crazy gold sparkle fabric. It was sort of a take-off parody of a whole season of PR. But even parady works as real sometimes. Some of these dresses do work.

  55. His dresses are the most!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Middle picture, third row. Is that Rita?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Nice to see him get away from the fish tail look; but he jumped right into Chloe's lap. Nice collection; but it won't rock the fashion world.
