The Desperate Model Shimmy!

"This dress is tacky and my designer thinks I look like a hooker and the judges have been frowning at him lately and I'm working the shit out of this thing because I don't want to be barefoot in a black slip standing next to Heidi tomorrow morning!"
"Boop Boop Be Doo!"

Aw, I actually thought this dress wasn't so bad. I can't deny the desperation shimmy, though. Wow.
I honestly rather liked the dress. The shimmy should've been in the bottom three though.
She shimmied and jumped as if Ninagarcia and Rachel Zoe were trying to peg her with water balloons on the runway.

LOL. That is funny, funconditional.
Design-wise, it's a perfectly fine little cocktail dress, but we think making the ENTIRE THING out of mylar was not the best choice.
And the frikkin bows. We hate bows on grown women.
I thought the model did a great job of 'working it' for Robert.
I thought his dress was great.
Since the challenge said it must be wearable, I would have picked either Laura or Uli.
i think the shimmy made the dress look better. it*s a nice change to see someone happy instead of mad on the runway. she did what she had to do!
I loved that dress, bows and all. :) But you're right, the model was being a bit Betty Boop-ish.
ROFL. Yup, she acted like it was either that or the guillotine.
The dress was OK, boring actually - sorry, Robert - and yes, tacky and dated, but as someone mentioned here, at least it was wearable.
You know you were all picturing Robert BEST doing that exact same move. I know I was...err...am. :D
Oh man, I was doing that little kick all day.
Good Night you Uber-fabulous boys. Sweet dreams! ;)
Awww, I thought the shimmy was adorable. I'm tired of models walkin the catwalk like their house was just burned down and they're forced to work the runway to pay off a deductible.
I bet that dress was noisy with all that shimmy. The sound of crinkled mylar is kind of like styrofoam rubbing up against more styrofoam. *Shudders*
That was a desparate model shimmy and I kind of think she's adorable for submitting to it.
i love you guys! you make my morning coffee. i think you should expand to critiques of other fashion in the media moments. i confess to having recently been addicted to taping segments of SYTYCD, however found myself yelling at whomever the stylists were while watching. for some reason, the show had the hostess dressed in outfits apparently designed to highlight that not only was she flat chested, but she lacked any sort of waist to boot. one week, they had the poor woman dressed as a giraffe. ???
Not my favorite, but it's ok. At least he has a little Mattel/Barbie vibe going on...and he left that freakin' beige anorak behind for a change. It's probably the only thing that saved him.
I did like Robert's dress. Hell, it looks like a Barbie dress my sister had for her dolls in the 1980s.
I have to agree with the gay guys at OutZoneTV.com:
"A bright spot of witty homosexual culture is online: Project RunGAY. It’s a blog about “Project Runway” and it’s damn funny."
You guys are FANTASTIC. Always funny and witty. My kind of humor. Keep up the good work. You guys ROCK!
That is freaking funny, Amber. Hey, you're not supposed to be funnier than us : - )
test...hoping my hat matches the decor here. :D
Awww, you have a picture now, Katie. And it matches our blog. FABULOUS!
This model is a total dork and gives dorks like me a bad name. Im glad she had to wear Reynolds Wrap gone bad.
Well she had to do something, was I the only one who saw that bitch galloping down the runway for the Icon challenge?
That's hilarious! I was thinking the same thing when she got to the end of the runway. I guess she tried to make it interesting.
I also think that the dress from the back made her butt look big.
does anyone ever notice how when robert is giving his commentaries he is always COVERED in odd beads of sweat and dandruff?
i really wished that kayne's model would fly like peter pan at the end of the runway
yeah the shimmy was kinda scary....
hilarious!
