Beloved frequent PRG commenter (and old friend of Tom's) Alex!, is one insanely talented mofo and when he gets inspired, we get treated to some absolutely awesome "doodles," as he calls them. These wound up in our inbox today and we begged him for the privilege to share them with y'all.
First up: TIM GUNN: FASHION SPY
We damn well better see future installments!
Next, something so cute we'll be peeing sunshine for days, Christian and Chris in:
How freaking awesome is that?
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha! Ha ha!! Ha!
ReplyDelete(That is all.)
The man is a visionary. :-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely BRILLIANT!!! And the one of Chris & Christian is beyond perfect!
ReplyDelete--GothamTomato
P.S.- Cranberry juice may help with that 'sunshine' issue.
Classic. Bravo to whoever made these.
ReplyDeleteOHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD This is beyond awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteYou bitches rule! Even your friends are fabulous : )
Oh. My. God. My cute Chris' are together! How deliciously sunshiny. Alex! you are the best.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love it. Love it. Christian as Max...he is definitely the willful, demanding child.
ReplyDeleteThere are just too wonderful. I'm dying to see more!
ReplyDeleteThe Sendak one is amazing. (So is the serial cartoon, but I'm entranced by the shading in the second one at the moment....)
ReplyDeleteQuite impressive doodles!
ReplyDeleteSelf depreciation + remarkable talent.. Alex! did you go to Pratt?
fantastic. Thanks for letting us see them, boys and Alex. I can't help thinking of the designers seeing them, too, and being utterly delighted.
ReplyDeletei love the one with Chris and Christian! too cute!
ReplyDeleteThese are FANTASTIC!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the phrase, "peeing sunshine." A little graphic, but descriptive :)
Way to go, Alex. These are great.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahaha! Snort!
ReplyDeleteI barely kept myself from spewing coffee all over my screen. Bravo!!!!
I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteShe is an unstoppable sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO FUNNY! Brilliant!
Alex, you are adorable! Are you single?
ReplyDeleteI want the Sendakesque teeshirt, and I want it now!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I knew he wasn't just another pretty thumbnail face! Two snaps, way high up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the exceptional! creations. I will be posting a lin to friends at frenzied speeds.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! YAY!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are great!! I can't wait to see the next comic. And the 2nd one is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWhere The Fierce Things Are is like Star...like Celebrity.
ReplyDeleteIt is also SO my new wallpaper.
I've blown 'em up an' printed 'em out!
ReplyDeleteAlex, you're sunshine on a cloudy day.
These need to be posted weekly. So, whoever your friend is, he'd better deliver! These are frickin' brilliant. Rummy Cashew? HA! Perhaps he'll trick Tim into making one of those bad 3am decisions to weaken his superhero resistance...
ReplyDeleteOMG, these are amazing!
ReplyDelete(I hope the sunshine doesn't burn coming out."
aww I guess someone didn't like the videos ;(
ReplyDeleteJumping up and down, clapping. (Like Elisa. Uh oh.)
ReplyDeleteI've decided that Rami has already audited PR, and Jillian is his little cousin. He's walking her thru the class.
Those are hysterical and downright awesome. Wicked talented. Can't wait to see where the fierce things are.
ReplyDeletelove it. hope it becomes an addition to this beloved site!
ReplyDeleteOh My Gawd!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, super talented. Perhaps we'll see Alex on Project Runway to give us a "court reporters" POV done in before the show installments? Could be GREAT fun!
ReplyDeleteFanfreakingtastic.
ReplyDeleteThis is insanely brilliant!! Alex(!), I always enjoyed your posts, but I never knew you had such incredible talent, dude!!! Those are fantastic!
ReplyDeletePS: Where can we see more of your work?!
ReplyDeleteThe geek in me is particularly overexcited.... *blushes*
:-)))
Alex!! You are BRILLIANT! I've been looking for your comments because you're so funny and insightful, but to see the 'toons brings a whole new dimension.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed by the way you boiled 4 characters down to a few panels and words. Seriously. That's amazing. I make a living writing stuff for magazines that pay a lot (about financial stuff, very dull in comparison to PR), but I bow to your greatness.
Agreeing with Rosie's Girl, I'd buy "The Wild Things" on a t-shirt right now.
Oh, my God, that's fantastic! (As is "peeing sunshine.) Kudos, Alex.
ReplyDeleteWe can't tell you how thrilled we are that Alex is getting this kind of reception. Not that it's anything new to him. Alex owns the coolest comic shop on the east coast (possibly, dare we say it? THE WORLD) and has been mentioned in the Village Voice and New York Magazine among many other places. If you enjoy his ability to boil characters and narrative down to their bare essence, then you HAVE to read his Legend of Brunhild. Don't be put off by the warning at the beginning. There is one mildly NC-17 panel.
ReplyDeleteLoved the "doodles." And the "peeing sunshine" comment made me laugh out loud (and I'm a tough laugh).
ReplyDeleteomg - the chris/christian picture is SO adorable! i love it!
ReplyDelete"You'll never get away with this! When I fail to report, Parsons will send another agent."
ReplyDeleteLOL. I love it. Brilliant!!
Hilariously fabulous, guys!!
ReplyDeleteNot to mention, the fabulous Sendak interpretation. Christian and Chris look ADORABLE!!!
where the fierce things are???? brilliant!
ReplyDeleteamazing! insipired!
Alex, I bow not merely to your drawing ability but to your insight and humor. I have been enjoying your posts (and your screencap) for some time. Now I can enjoy them all the more - I feel as if we've met by your sharing your unique gift.
ReplyDeletebrilliant in execution and conception! give us more!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I especially love 'Where the Fierce Things Are'...Alex, you are the winner of this challenge!
ReplyDeleteUm, Alex? For the sequel could you please have Tim's shirt open one more button? You know, for the sake of proportion and fit, nothing dirty of course.
ReplyDeleteI need professional help, don't I?
Okay, I've just come back from spending all day getting an aging ancestor situated in a nursing home and I come back to this...
ReplyDeleteAlex! and TLO you are the BEST!
Totally Awesome!!! Thanks, Alex!
ReplyDeleteAlex!
ReplyDeleteSurface and take a bow!

ReplyDeleteKzspot
OMG! "Where the Fierce Things Are" had me rolling! I absolutely loved it! A signed copy of that would be a FABULOUS prize of a TLo contest.
ReplyDeleteWhat talent Alex has.
I'm quite impressed! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteGENIUS!!!
ReplyDeleteRami should thank him for the nose job, too.
Rami's nose is hot and sexy the way it is. Much better than a fallen-in nose like Jack's after surgery. Love what you are sissys - no nose jobs!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Tinn Gunn Fashion Spy is hysterical!!!
