Bravo has been doling out the Guide to Style goodies like candy! In these 3 videos, St. Tim gives us all a little tour of his set. Enjoy - and don't forget to watch the premiere at 10!
Why is this the premiere? I saw this on t.v. last night - the whole show. The chick was really difficult to deal with. Couldn't let go of the past. She dressed like a hooch. They didn't need to put her dress in a memory box, they needed to put HER in a memory box.
4:47pm is right. The premiere was last night right after Top Chef.
Great show! Of course every time I see Tim I can't NOT stop thinking of his POSTURE--splits atoms and rips upholstery is the phrase. LMAO. That one will go down as THE classic of the times!
I agree with Suzanne, the girl was so sweet. And I couldnt help crying at the end... :P I really enjoyed the show. It might be like "What not to wear" But I think Tim Makes a whole difference. He's so sweet!!! And he explains things so nicely! I want to hug him!!!
I LOVE this show. I am seriously challenged, fashion-wise (darling Mr Gunn and anyone with influence: I am a PRIME CANDIDATE for your show! please god, or tim gunn [preferably mr gunn] help me dress myself!).
i don't mind the wall colors. I love that he discusses his books. I love that Tim Gunn is an intellectual and an academic as well as being fabulous and all. It makes my book-worm heart happy.
In one scene from the show with the Tarty Woman, Tim and Veronica were standing by a wall that was a GORGEOUS shade of peacock blue....i want that color in my house.
Boo! I hope the show gets better. I thought it was really formulaic, and I don't buy Veronica Webb as an expert on anything. She was a little too bitchy.
And the life stylist? Come on.
I hope they will continue to tweak the show, because it feels just like What NOt TO Wear in all the wrong ways.
Is this where we're depositing comments about the (second) Premiere episode? If so, I agree to keep watching, but only for the gems that Tim occasionally drops. For me, the editing and structure plays waaaay too much like an episode of Queer Eye, right down to the gratutious giftage provided by prominently-placed sponsors (Ice.com, anyone?). Slow the pace, lose the life coach, get Veronica Webb a new personality and a new hairdo (volume, darling, you need volume around that bone structure), and just let Tim be Tim. We don't need all the bells and whistles!
Too contrived and gimmicky ... it's like OCD Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out developed the show. Even Mr. Gunn's loads of charm, erudition and charisma can't save this show from being a big ol bore. Maybe if they got rid of some of the gimmicks and cut it to a half hour. But it's an idea much better done on What Not to Wear.
Agnes, I couldn't have said it better...I thought "uh oh..." when the life coach appeared. Tim is the heart and soul of the show, the reason we watch - let Tim be Tim, and cut out the schmaltz!
CD: i don't mind the wall colors. I love that he discusses his books. I love that Tim Gunn is an intellectual and an academic as well as being fabulous and all. It makes my book-worm heart happy.
And he builds bookcases, too. (There's a post on BPR a while within this past month about him moving into his new place and having to build them himself.) Oh, Tim. J'adore. My son-in-law is too busy to put together my bookshelves any more; if I adopt you, will you help me? Meatloaf every Sunday, I promise! :-D
Seriously, anyone who reads and enjoys books is A-list material. The show problems we can tweak (we, ha-ha!), but the elemental Tim Gunn could not be faked. Love that man!
Me likey! Except for the wall color..but overall its cool
ReplyDeleteSee, I like the wall color. Tim is adorable!

Bravo keeps announcing tonight's episode as the premiere. It says so right there on their site: "SERIES PREMIERE THURS SEP 6 @10/9c"
Great set! Funny that they shared a dressing room.
I loved the Thursday show, pretty much like the BBC What Not to Wear except for Mr Kindheart Tim Gunn.
ReplyDeleteHe is a treasure!
It's almost like What Not To Wear. I'm not impressed....yet!
ReplyDeleteLOVE and ADORE Tim, but this show is a complete bore. I can't wait until it's over.
ReplyDeleteTonight's episode was MUCH better.
ReplyDeleteI kept waiting for the introduction of a designer from PR Season 4.....did I miss it?
ReplyDeleteAnyway tonights "subject" was such a sweet girl...you could just tell!

How/where, or rather, CAN I watch this show anywhere online?! I don't live in the US but am so looking forward to this show!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know...? Help! :)
Tim Gunn is a dream. What a wonderful mix of honesty, kindness and "take no prisoners" fashion attitude.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think about his bio and how he doesn't have a mate. I hope that changes soon. He is such a great guy he deserves a great guy.
Veronica Web?? not so thrilled. I don't see her as Fab, not on any level.
Will keep watching the show.

ReplyDeleteI'll stick to What Not To Wear.
