Well, we got our first look last night at people who are going to hate us in a couple of months. Let's be judgmental, shall we?
First up is Jay-McCarroll-from-an-alternate-universe, Chris:
Now let's meet Jillian, this season's Alison or "The girl you don't turn your back on."
I mentioned this over at BPR, but does anyone else recognize her (Jillian) as one of the wanna-be designers from last season's Road to the Runway ep.? I recognize the Victoria Jackson voice, though I think she's applied some curl control since then.

ReplyDeleteI think it's quite amusing that the video segment on Chris that is posted starts off with a still of him holding the mannequin's chestal area, and down in the bottom right corner it says "Grab it!" :)
ReplyDeleteWithholding judgement on these designers as the way Bravo promos them up is never the way they are in the show. Remember, Robert Best said, "It's fun to be the bad guy" but he wasn't bad at all. :)
Jillian tried last season and didn't make it. I don't think people should be allowed to try again so soon. How much can you change about your style or aesthetic in a year?

Over on Blogging PR, there's a picture of Jillian from last season's "Road to the Runway" episode. The second I saw that blouse with the lace-up front and the bad high-waisted '80s floral skirt, I cringed--I remember those all too well.
ReplyDeleteShe's gorgeous, but unless her taste level has improved substantially I predict she'll be gone by the third episode. Either that, or she'll be the female Vincent, creating ugly, dated-looking garments that don't get her auf'ed only because someone else was marginally more incompetent at each challenge.
Oh, and I like Chris. At first I thought, "Oh, shit--another buffoon a la Jay McCarroll," but after seeing him in the interview footage I can tell he's not. That's probably because he's lived in big cities that 1) love his big, fat, fabulous gay self, and 2) have provided a stage for his creativity to shine, so he's already enjoyed some professional success. I don't get any of the bitter bitchiness that makes Jay alternately hilarious and repulsive. So I'm really looking forward to seeing what he'll do.
