Someone really needs to start a petition to ask the Nobel Prize committee to open a new category for models. Their level of service to humanity needs to be recognized with some kind of major award (or at least a sandwich).
That Vikor and Rolf show must have been frigtening to watch. What a bunch of morons, who's going to want a dress with a pole and studio lights attached to it? I'm sure Tim Gunn would be rolling his eyes right now.
Hilarious! The funniest part is the opening narration about how difficult walking as a model is: "And these girls often have to do it FIVE OR SIX TIMES A DAY!"
Fashion designers need to cut waaay down on the backstage booze....and why hasn't anyone on a planet with gravity learned that pointy little shoes and shiny waxed floors were never, ever meant to meet? Traction? anyone?
What's really insane is that this season there were a lot of super high heels in the stores. Wedges and stilettos. Even wedges that high are hazardous. It's ridiculous. And on top of that, they look stupid and out of proportion.
New shoes can be really slippery, and new heels can be treacherous. And those runways look really really slippery. Plus, I've heard (and it makes sense) that the shoes aren't always the right size for the model, so they're trying to walk in shoes that are too big or too small. So I do kinda feel bad for them, it's a bad situation all around.
Anon 1:33 said it best - it's the clothes that look dumb. When the models fall, they mostly just look kinda cute, especially when they grin afterwards. But the clothes, that only had the super-attitude going for them in the first place, just end up looking really silly.

This narrator waxing incredulous about walking the runway 5 or 6 times a day? Slap yourself! These girls aren't doing neurosurgery in stilettos without eating--they are WALKING. I will walk in stilettos all day long without complaining for the pay some models receive. Mercy!
i am skinny, i eat, and i don't fall down. you think this shit is easy? you have call times of 6am and have shows back to back all day - with not much time to eat - and are expected to look flawless and skinny and perfect. oh, and then go to the afterparty(ies) until 1 or 2, then wake up and do it all again. don't hate.
My ankles hurt just watching that.

I love how in that one fall the still photographer is standing there waiting until the model slips and then pops that camera up to his eye. Nice.
