Okay, first the bitchiness: We've always been completely befuddled by this gal's career. Granted, she's not exactly A-List, but for someone with so little talent (really, she's a pretty mediocre actress) and such average looks, she manages to still get a lot of work.

Having said that, if she went around looking like this more often, we'd understand it, because we don't think she's ever looked so good. And we don't mean that simply as a compliment to whoever styled the shoot or made her up (although whoever did so did a pretty good job). It's more about her showing an attitude and a sexiness that we've never really seen her show before. You know how bitchy we can be about actresses trying to be models, but she really nailed it here. Additionally, the dresses are gorge and we kind of love the whole idea of a fashion editorial in a supermarket. All in all, one of the best actress editorials we've seen in a while.

The clothes look good. But she is giving the same Zoolander face in every picture!!!

She definitely looks MUCH better here than anywhere else I've ever seen her. In fact, she looks more attractive in some of the dresses than the models do -- they fit her a little better.

Hmmmm. I was thinking the exact opposite - that the makeup extinguished what was unique about Anna Pacquin's face and gave her a generic model look. I liked the clothes, but found the supermarket backdrops too colorfully distracting. As in oooooh, look, Cheez Doodles!

she does have "academy award winner" preceding her name on credits

I like Anna Paquin. I always have. She seems genuine and down-to-earth and I think that's probably a lot of her appeal. (Not to mention, she was adorable in Fly Away Home!)

Rainwood, you said it honey! And Anon @ 5:04, I went back and looked at all of the pics and giggled at the Zoolander faces. All of that aside, I did love many of the dresses used in this editorial.

OMG. How opposite can we be, TLo? Do enjoy her as an actress (though she's not exactly Meryl Streep in Dancing at Lughnasa), and she was one of my few girl crushes.
HATE this editorial. Whoever had the idea to make the lighting all wanky and distort the color of the dresses needs to be shot with rock salt and taken to the optometrist's for help with color blindness. Worst pic: She looks clueless in front of the Poland Spring water bottles, wondering why she's wearing such fug. Just like anyone else with an ounce of sense would.
Fortunately, her expressions throughout help. Who knew she could channel Ann-Margret in that last pic?

yeah! ho! wah!

"... but for someone with so little talent..."

man, thats harsh. so, ok, shes not exactly a dame judi dench. but she seems likable, charming, genuine, sweet, and down to earth. its more than you can say about many of her starlet colleagues.

I can see her appeal.

Considering she was a child actress, she's incredibly grounded. And I like her looks--she's girl-next-door pretty, except she's real girl-next-door, not Anne Hathaway girl-next-door. And I like that she's kept the gap in her teeth. That she's resisted the Hollywood standard chicklette teeth to keep her gap says a lot about her confidence.

These pictures are lovely, and she looks fantastic in the clothes, but I do want to tell her, honey close your mouth--it's sexy once or twice, but you begin to look simple if you do it for the entire shoot.

I always do my food shopping in couture!

She IS an average actress! So glad you think so too. She's pretty much the reason i can't watch True Blood--the way she butchers a southern accent makes my ears bleed...in fact, every actor on that show is one big southern accent fail.

That said, agreed--nice editorial.

This is great. I think she should have green in her hair as a matter of course.

I've never seen her in a film, so can't comment there.

But the lighting on this shoot is dreadful! It's distorting the colors, as can easily be seen by comparing these photos with the runway shots.

That's unforgivable in a fashion spread.

Love the editorial! And I think her gays have been edging towards the edgy...remember her McQueen dress from the Golden Globes?

I've never seen her in an interview, so I can't comment on her personality. But I've always assumed she was nice, possibly just because she's fairly average looking.

Oh, my god, she looks FABULOUS. And what's astonishing to me is this: so often in these editorial shoots the clothes are barely recognizable (compared to the runway pix) and look completely unwearable unless you're carefully posed and draped. But she (and the stylists) make every item of clothing look completely wearable and in many cases far more attractive than in the runway shots. Brava Anna!

I've liked her as an actress (haven't seen her in True Blood), but can she do everything? Probably not.

I do think her looking "normal" is part of her appeal. Because she got an early start, she didn't have to become generic--she's not beautiful, she's pretty and doing her best to do her part in Hollywood's beauty sweepstakes.

I like the clothes in the shoot and they're shooting her wel, though there's also the sense of trying too hard.

I like these kind of statement clothes on taller women--love that Alexander McQueen.

Edit: The McQueen was worn to the SAGs, not the Globes....

Hrm - she does look good, but something about the way she's been made up rings a bit January Jones-ish no? (Esp in the 2nd pic)Still, love the attitude, its a nice change.

Gorge dresses, and great concept - that being said, it makes me wonder what someone like Cate Blanchett would have done with this.

-Skiminy Cricket

I don't understand all the love for her portrayal of Sookie. I've only watched the first season, but to me, the woman who plays Tara blows her out of the water.

Very sexy and in that bone shot she gives a Bridget Bardot vibe.

She does look great but I find the supermarket thing a bit confusing. And as far as her acting is concerned, apparently the academy thought she was doing something right at some point because at age 11 she won an oscar for best supporting actress in "The Piano." (via Wikipedia). I mostly just remember her as Rogue from the X-Men movies since I don't watch True Blood that much.

Every time I see her name or her face, I think, "Who?" Part of the problem is that she was more memorable as a brunette. But another part of the problem is that she fades into the background in pretty much every movie she's been in. I find the concept of the shoot interesting, and now I want to hang out at the Piggly Wiggly eating Twizzlers in Prada, but Anna's still, well, forgettable.

@Jen

I don't really get the praise of her acting skills as Sookie either. I watch True Blood mostly for Skarsgard (yummmmm) and I think she is totally campy as Sookie, but so is most of True Blood. At least I take it that way, so I just have fun with it.

Now for the clothes. I actually really love the distorted colors. From a photography and graphic standpoint, it is just really more my aesthetic and I think it sets a nice mood. Plus I have no clue what is and what isn't a "no no" for editorial spreads, so I could care less if they aren't supposed to do it. The clothes look great on her and she looks great. I totally love the supermarket shoot idea too TLo!

The supermarket? Perhaps when people have personal shoppers it starts to appear interesting. It's not.

In the best picture of her (the small one at the top), she looks like a drag queen and a fabulous one at that.

I remain confused about Anna Paquin's career.

I don't think she looks very good at all...she just looks confused!

Love the pics and the supermarket setting ... the best!-- and I have to say, I really like her -- she DOES have that "real" next girl appeal, like Sandra Bullock.

As for southern accents, being from Louisiana I understand the
makes my ear bleed" comment in regards to accents, however, they don't do a bad job on True Blood. I often think that "accent work" isn't for those of us that HAVE them, they are for what people outside our little area perceive them to be ... and accents through out the south are different. How we talk in Louisiana is not how they talk in Tennessee etc ...

I must know who is responsible for the shoes she's wearing with the Josh Goot dress because I covet them.

Facinating. She is wearing everyone of those dresses and not one of them wears her. She looks amazing.

"Look at the pictures, find our bitchiness at the bottom."

LOL

Love the photos and the clothes, not crazy about her.

she looks amazing and i love the twizzler shot. the rest of editorial does seem too repetitive. from what i've seen of her on both true blood seasons (and i read the sookie novels), i think she portrays the quirk, charm and grit of the character very well; far from mediocre. haven't seen much of her other work though.

OK, so I don't love most of her work. At all. Really only love True Blood (and that is really because I have read all the books).

She is extremely average-looking, which is what makes her roll in True Blood so perfect. Average meets average.

But as this attempt for modeling, I was more intrigued by the Swedish Fish bag and less on the actual look of the clothes (which I love on the real models).

roll = role.
ugh

roll = role.
ugh

Love the grocery store inspiration. I wanna do this shoot!

Jesus Christ how much cauliflower does one girl need?

Sorry, boys, disagree on the location. It's way too busy. I'm looking at the products on the shelves and not little Anna or the clothing.

winninghamster

Violently disagree. Love her acting and love her normally intriguing face over this airbrushed version. Great clothes, though.

Love this!

Totally agree boys! NEVER understood her success (nothing personal sookie!) but she totally rocked this photo shoot! Can't believe it!

I don't recall seeing Anna Paquin in anything but "The Piano", so I still think of her as a little girl. I think she looks great in these photos, albiet a bit generic with regard to hair and makeup. She does look quite a bit like January Jones, I must say. And I also must say I love, love, love the Chanel dress, and the shoes she's wearing in the Cheez Doodles shot are fabulous!

Eh, I'm not a fan. As with many celebrities-as-models, her modeling doesn't seem to extend past "stare into space, mouth slightly open". I'm not getting any of the sexiness or attitude, and found the supermarket backdrop to be weird and distracting. Clothes are gorgeous, though!

Classic "I am looking at you - Mr. Cameraman!"

I loved most of the dresses for this shoot, but the whole editorial came off a little flat to me. The Twissler shot that you chose for the avatar is by far the best (you all have a knack for that ;) ).

I've never seen her in anything at all, but everytime I hear or see her name, I can ONLY see her as a kid winning an Oscar, wearing that hideous cap. (See: http://tinyurl.com/y8p8cjx)

She looks freaking hot in these photos. If THIS is what average looks like, I want to be average. Her face in the twizzlers photo is amazing - the way her cheekbones are highlighted - gorgeous.

some of the clothes are yes, some no, but overall, I like this photo spread. it's not my usual taste at all, but i like it.

I'm so relieved to know I'm not having an ocular migraine...What's up with the wonky colors and angles. Agree with others who have commented about the great clothes and weird backgrounds.

good god, if she's "average looking," i must be an absolute troll.

THAT OTHER REDHEAD said...Facinating. She is wearing everyone of those dresses and not one of them wears her. She looks amazing.

I agree 100%!

TampaBay

I love Anna and I love this shoot. (Okay, maybe the grocery store setting is a bit much.) I think she looks gorgeous here and sells the hell out of the clothes, which, by the way, look better on her than the models.

Of course, keep in mind that I am a True Blood fan (rabid, like most =D). I'm also from California so the accent fakeness is lost on me. I do, however, know a thing about fakey "Valley Girl" accents.

i saw this and thought, "good actress, bad model."

I just hear Vampire Bill saying Sookie, sookie, sookie, Sookie, i.e. she just seems to be playing Sookie in every pic.

I can see how she ended up as #2 on Nerve.com's list of child stars you'd know have sex with.

I think it's funny that the people who seem confused about her popularity as Sookie also seem like they haven't read the books - just a hint, when judging if someone does a good job of portraying a character, that helps.

And to call her portrayal campy....um....it's a series about COUNTRY VAMPIRES! Campy, yes please.

And this shoot? Fantastic,

Shesachildstardamnit

ANNA IS AMAZING SHUTUP U GUYZ

I think it's funny that the people who seem confused about her popularity as Sookie also seem like they haven't read the books - just a hint, when judging if someone does a good job of portraying a character, that helps.

Uh, no. An actor's performance stands on its own as good or bad. Additional reading is not required.

love the styling, sets, poses, pretty much everything except she's not giving such great face

edinamonsoon

Most of the dresses look good against the supermarket products as backdrop. Love the Ferragamo. Hate the Lanvin. It's a shame they didn't work the entire Prada into the photo because it's really a divine garment. Here, they've totally distorted the color and texture. Her? Meh.

edina

P.S. OMG, I forgot she was the young girl in The Piano. Love that film.

I actually think Anna Pacquin has one of the most expressive faces of any actress I know. She's not often rewarded with roles that work for her—too bad, because I think she could carry a big one. I did like her better as a brunette.

So while I acknowledge that she looks pretty great (albeit generic), this photo shoot is completely unoriginal. There's an identical spread of bored models at a grocery story, including the color treatment, from French Vogue 2 years ago. Except that shoot was more interesting. Recycled idea.

Boys, PLEASE TELL ME YOU WATCH TRUE BLOOD!!! It is one of the best shows on television and talk about man candy!!

Please. You must watch it.

Liked it all except for the Twizzlers shot -- she looked like SJParker and I don't find it attractive for a pretty young thing to look like a gaunt 44-year-old. ~Gary

see, I loved the twizzler shot, I thought it looked like something from my momma's vogue circa 1974.

and as a PP said, if she's "average" God save the rest of us trolls!

A couple of the models show better expression than she does - her face looks pretty vacant in some of the shots.

"Okay, first the bitchiness: We've always been completely befuddled by this gal's career. Granted, she's not exactly A-List, but for someone with so little talent (really, she's a pretty mediocre actress) and such average looks, she manages to still get a lot of work."

YES! THANK YOU! I so agree. I cannot stand watching her act, honestly. It's painful to watch. And I didn't think her performance in The Piano was Oscar-worthy, though I do love that film.

She does look nice in the editorial, though. However, I'm not as thrilled with some of the washed-out look of some of the pics.

she looks to posed. It looks like the director said stand here, do this, make this face. It didn't seem natural at all. and, grocery store? hm, why??
but, she did look good, just too plastic.

I really liked the mod 60's, edging onto early 70's vibe of the clothes and styling. She has a real young Jane Fonda look to her. She actually reminds me of Jane as Barbarella, and that's not a bad thing at all.

i'm usually of one mind with you gays but i could not disagree more with your assessment here --

her poses are bland at best, she cheapens the beautiful array of clothing they hung on her, & she somehow looks chubby despite her enviable thinness.

but then again i thought she was amazing in the squid & the whale so maybe my opinion is negligible.

Now I know why in most editorials you can barely see the garments! They looks so horrible compared to the runway. I don't know her as an actress (yes I live under a rock!) but she has no appeal to me in these outfits. They look cheap. The Prada looks like something made out of a craft kit from Michael's. The Lanvin looks like Ping designed it while smoking copious amounts of pot. The Goot becomes a hooker tits ad. They should have not touched the McQueen! Why did they make it so long? It looks absolutely dowdy on her. How did the Ferragamo go from gorge to mumu?

Ugh disappointing.

Wow, she looks amazing here. All of the dresses look better on Anna Paquin than on the models!

"WWTLOD said...

Jesus Christ how much cauliflower does one girl need?"

ROFL. I thought the same thing.

EspeciallyGay

LOVE HER!!!!!

I actually like the pictures. Not love, but I like them.

As for her acting, I think she's pretty good as Sookie. My brother has read a few of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, and according to him, it sheds new light on her performances because we actually get to see the character's thought process and we get a better understanding as to why Anna Paquin plays the character the way she does.

Plus, True Blood is pure campy awesomeness.

Bah! I actually really love her.

When I saw these pics all I could think was "If only I was casting for a Clueless remake....." That bitchy pout screams Alicia Silverstone to me

She looks great, but I wouldn't have recognized her, and I don't like that she's just standing there in most of the shots. Love the twizzler one.

She was amazing in the Piano.

Wow!!! She looks fabulous. I have to admit, I tried to get into True Blood, but it never really caught my interest. I'm really more of a zombie girl than a vampire lover.

But she looks fantastic in this. Love the Zoolander faces!!!

she does not know how to pose at all
embarrassing...

"...and such average looks..."

Is this really necessary?
I'm thinking she looks like an actual human being, which is pretty hard to come by in Hollywood these days...I only hope she has tough skin, so she can withstand criticism of her "averageness" and not end up looking like some souless zombie.
I think she's BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I think she's stunning and sexy. I'm so tired of the generic plastic surgery girls.

You guys underrate her talent. Compare her performance on True Blood to the fakery put out by Evan Rachel Wood on the same show.

Sookie (as are most of the roles on TB) is a tricky part. It requires the actor to ground the character in reality but maintain a sense of the grotesque and the playful without tucking the tongue too obviously in cheek.

I didn't appreciate Anna Paquin until I saw Evan R. Wood try too hard and therefore look all clumsy and over-the-top as the Vampire Queen. Paquin has the chops.

She has a fucking Oscar.

She has a fucking Oscar.

So? Plenty of mediocre actors have them.

Uh-oh! Looks like the fangurls are pissed!

Wow. I think she looks great, especially in the shots where she's not looking directly at the camera. And those black and purple strapped shoes are incredible.

T&L: Did you see The Piano? She was amazing in that film!!!!

Not a fangurl. A WOMAN, sick of shallow standards of beauty. It's frightening to see women destroy what makes them truly beautiful and unique, trying to be perfect.

How long we got before everyone has 10 gallon breasts and noses are a thing of the past?

Oh for god's sake, lighten the fuck up. They said she had average looks and you're acting like they called her ugly. Actually no, you're acting like they called YOU ugly. They also said she looked great in this layout.

Hate it. After the first couple of photos, I was completely overwhelmed by the backgrounds, which overtook the clothing completely.

Yuck.

love the Chanel--

I thought she looked pretty good too.

Snarky Amber, the fab shoes she's wearing are Rock & Republic Paulina, which comes in Black and Pewter (http://shop.rockandrepublic.com/Paulina_in_Black/pd/c/411/np/411/p/2651.html and http://shop.rockandrepublic.com/store/productdetails.aspx?productid=2650&cs=1) for $350. I remember them from Carrie Underwood's outfit at the People's Choice Awards.

I really like Anna as an actress and like that she's kept the unique aspects of her beauty, although it might make her less conventionally good-looking to most. I think she looks great in all the looks, but her face in some of them is a bit too Zoolander.

I don't think she's beautiful, but I do think she's hot (as Sookie). I think it's those tighty whitey T-shirts she wears on the show. And she pulls off blonde well.

Then again, I'd only consider a handful of people truly beautiful - Cate and ummmm... brad.

As for the edit... love the clothes. They made prada look good!

- Y -

Thanks for posting these, TLo! Really rockin' photos--and she wears the hell outta those dresses. Two thumbs up. :)

if January Jones can get steady work as an actress, Anna Paquin ca be nominated for an Oscar. -victoria

I LOVE the Prada and the Ferragamo on her.

Eh, I like her. I think she's done a helluva job surviving Hollywood as a child actress relatively unscathed. Isn't she older than Lindsay Lohan? She looks 10 years younger.

She looks great and the clothes are fab, but she's kind of a blah model.

Anna looks fabulous in most of the photos and really wears the clothes well.

I think she looks like Joanna Lumley in the Twizzler photo.

Mama Jo

I agree that she is average-looking, TLo, but she has lovely legs and some nice curves.

She was a great child actress and had a couple of fantastic parts, but has fizzled as an adult, and her "performance" in True Blood is painful. However, it is not the worst on that show.

Does she look a little bit like Beverly D'Angelo is some of these pics?

I love love love the twistler dress and the shoe's in the cheese doodles are to die for.

The colors were so garish they made the dress's pop!

She is a fine actress, not everyone is MS. When her and Eric get it on the fire is gonna be burning bright BIG time.

(air kisses) hope your feeling better and thank you for the photo's
zip_flip

Tyra would have a fit. You are not a model, girl!

Where is the passion, where is the spark?

She looks like a she stumbled into a designer closet, came out with something on - and looks slightly confused in most of the shots. Go home and eat that cauliflower.

I have no problem with average looks. Most models look pretty average without makeup. They only have to be skeletal and know how to pose. She need not be skeletal, but she needs to know how to pose, even minimally. Lindsay Lohan posed better and she certainly doesn't have an oscar. The other problem that I have with this set is that it seems that every dress was changed a little from the runway version and it's not helping the dress or Paquin. She is wearing longer versions and somehow they are not very flattering on her. Is it because she has t wear the samples and they are a poor fit like with the last SJP dress that was longer and had a lower bust line?

The Viktor and Rolf has lost the color interest and is now covering her knees. I don't love the Chanel dress, but on Paquin it's long and looks like a rag dress. The neckline is different in the twizzer dress and the black under it takes away from the sparkle. It's a great fun dress but not in the version that she is wearing. The McQueen is such a fun dress. She is wearing it longer and that pose is the epitome of boring.

Sorry, I am not feeling the love.

I love you TLo but this is one of those times where I disagree with you on pretty much everything.
Anna can in fact act; she is just one of those actresses who unfortunately tends to choose bad roles. Even the best actors can only do so much with a badly-written character (not that I'm saying she is one of the best.)
Secondly, she is a beautiful girl and far from average. I've had a crush on her for a few years. She is girl-next-door but INTERESTING (unlike the more generic GND types, like Jennifer Aniston- can't stand her-overrated and painfully bland in every way.)
As for this spread:
I've seen her look much sexier than this. That being said, she looks much better in these clothes than the models do; she has an actual woman's body and some lovely curves.
I find the supermarket setting completely distracting and ugly. Editorial backgrounds are not supposed to take all attention away from the clothing, and they should at least somewhat match the clothes as well. Here, the two do not mesh well at all. The lighting is bothersome me too.

Colorful photoshoot, love the clothes and shoes, but Ms. Paquin's poses and facial expressions are very ANTM, which translates to cliche' and boring. Also the sets are very ANTM. Blech.
OK...I admit to watching ANTM, a guilty pleasure.
I don't know much about Ms. Paquin except that she won an Academy Award for her role in "The Piano", a movie which I have yet to see, and frankly, have no intention of ever seeing. Looks depressing.

Aside from the horrific southern accent on True Blood, Anna really isn't a bad actress. And I love her look in real life. She usually isn't afraid to wear bold things, and she usually pulls them off. She does look good in these pictures if you are looking at them as an actress wearing clothes and standing in front of a camera, but I'm glad she found employment as an actress b/c modeling is not her forte.

Interesting, to me, that the shoot was published in Marie Claire UK, but the products are so obviously American.

I don't think the blonde is flattering on her. She was much cuter as a brunette in Almost Famous. Her hair looks terrible here - for a second I thought it was Rachel Zoe.

Neither the name nor the face registered with me even though I have been watching DVDs if True Blood ...

I'm with you guys on this. Mediocre actress, mediocre looks (that gap in her teeth irritates me irrationally).

She looks good here when she's not staring down the camera.

I love the Chanel dress and photo, but I can't believe no one else commented on how crazy her right hand looks in it! She looks like her hand was amputated!

Other than her freaky amputee hand, I love this shoot. Distorted lighting or not, I think it's one of the better editorials that I've seen in a while.

"Oh for god's sake, lighten the fuck up. They said she had average looks and you're acting like they called her ugly. Actually no, you're acting like they called YOU ugly. They also said she looked great in this layout."

Thanks for your advice, but I don't need to be told how to react. Maybe in your mind it's okay as long as it's not you...you can kiss my ass!

**THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE!!**

I always feel a little weird about saying this, but I really do like her. I don't think she has the biggest range of any actress out there, but for what she gets cast in she does a fine job.

And I think the sort of goofy-pretty-down-to-earth thing is what gets her work. She's pretty but in a sort of odd way; it works for her.

LOVE the dresses but why does her face look so confused in every picture. Not a fan of her facial expression (she has only one).

Anonymous said...

IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU EITHER.

Thank you! I can't tell if I don't like her on True Blood because of her acting or how different the tv Sookie is from the book Sookie. I don't like the tv Sookie much.

(Yes, I eat those books like Meth coated Hershey bars.) The dresses are outstanding. I wish I was a size 4 with a plus sized bank account.

Great gams.

I agree this is a great editorial.

As for Anna Paquin's appeal, this is what it is for me: The first time I saw her as an actress was in The Piano, and for someone so young she really did a bang up job in it. Besides which, The Piano is such a lovely movie. And I also remember watching her sweet flabbergasted shock at winning that Oscar for The Piano. So my thoughts about her is that I want to "see little Anna Paquin make good."

Sookie moved to Stepford? I don't know whether to be excited, or angry! Clearly she's the hot new vixen who moved in and hasn't been tamed yet. Look at those daring clothes! She's EATING! Candy! In the grocery store! Look at the way she's hanging on those shelves! Wait till those crazy Stepford Wives get a hold of her.

All joking aside, I like this quite a lot. I have an affinity for Anna. She played an X-men character, and she's in one of my fav shows on TV right now. My only complaint is the coloring effect. I have a feeling it's only partially lighting, and most of that was done in phothoshop afterwords.

I love it when I'm looking at the pictures, scrolling down, down and thinking, "Oh, they've got to love this one." And then ... I'm right! Love that!

I started getting tired of the grocery store backdrop after the third photo, then there were many more... couldn't they have found other backgrounds for the rest of the shoot? It seemed to get silly from overuse.

People keep on harping on what a bad actress she is because of that Southern accent. Here's the thing, I live in the south and one of my best friends sounds EXACTLY like Anna Paquin does on True Blood. My friends who watch True Blood and also know my other friend agree. So I personally cannot say she is a bad actress because of that because I think the accent is believable enough and I also think its hilarious the way she talks.

"Here's the thing, I live in the south and one of my best friends sounds EXACTLY like Anna Paquin does on True Blood. My friends who watch True Blood and also know my other friend agree."

For real? I've spent my entire life in NC/SC/LA/MS (with the exception of three years "up north" getting my law degree) and the accent, to me, sounds like what Yankees think Southerners sound like. As someone else pointed out, accents vary thoughout the region, but her's is unlike anything I've ever heard....

I imagine its like a Brit watchng Bridget Jones :)

As for TLo calling her average...whats wrong with average? Not everyone has to be beautiful, and not every conception of beauty needs to be the same.

The problem, to me, is equating beauty with personal worthiness - something TLo has never done. And thats why I love them.

And hey, Vampire Bill thinks she's gorgeous. I'd let the whole internet call me ugly all day long if I went home to that....

She's the star of a cable soap about vampires in the south. Is it bad actressin' or badass actressin'?
She IS Sookeeehhh!
It's like saying Joan Collins was unbelievable as Alexis Carrington, and that will only get you a spank!

maybe she's found some sexiness through the new man in her life!

Heh. Duraflame. Snerk.

I really think you were extremely harsh on her. I think she has been doing a great job acting on True Blood.

The clothes look great on her. Which is what a model (& the whole team) is going for.

I think Lilithcat said it first, though: Didn't like the lighting at all. It took the punch right out of the clothes in a lot of those shots. I can see they wanted to create something a little more atmospheric than "supermarket," and I do think it came close to a kinda stereotypical "convenience store at night" look - but it still took away from the clothes.

I do not understand your bitchiness TLo. Anna has won an Oscar, she has been nominated numerous times, she is great in True Blood, and as for average looking: what is 'average' anyway? Bcause she is anything but average on these photos!

Ohhhhh goodness. I would sacrifice a few relatives to look like her in this editorial (and relatives I like, too -- not just the bitchy ones who live in Vermont and Alaska).

You know, I can see why people would say she's a mediocre actress with average looks, but I've become really fond of her (due in no small part to True Blood, which truly is a fantastic show). And Goddamn, does she look amazing here. Love it!
