LOVING Jay and Seth Aaron.

Oh wow. LOVING Seth Aaron so far.

right now, i'm calling seth aaron for the win.

GORGEOUS yellow plaid dress. and i don't do yellow.

Seth Aaron's pieces seem very Burberry meets Banana Republic.

LOVED SETH AARON'S COAT!!! I want it now!

Those pieces by Seth Aaron look astoundingly good!

oh wait, yeah...that's a coat. just went back and looked at it again.

Seth Aaron's a brave, brave man to go with McKenzie plaid (remembering he's a punk from Portland, where the Pendleton Mills Outlets sell wool mill-ends for as little as $3 a yard, he may have been thinking in terms of tartan for a long while).

is it because of the lack of photos, or a rather large portion of these clothes does seem better than those decoys of season 5??

where's maya's?

1 piece for jay??

Maya didn't show?

:(

I'm absolutely in love with Jay's second dress and all of Seth Aaron's. Can I just have a SA in a box that comes out and dresses me every morning? Pretty please? I promise I'll be good! He'd even get along with my hubby.

Ginger

And I see Janeane's name, but no pictures? Is that because there's nothing worthy of showing?

Ginger

LOVING Seth Aaron!! I want that first suit of his NOW. I don't even dress like that for work or anything but I would start if I had that.

GORGE!!

I'm callin' it. Seth Aaron FTW.

SA's plaid-on-the-outside leggings make that model look like she has haunches. not good. Love the rest of the collection we see.

WTF is in the middle of Jonathon's dress? It's like...teats or something.

janene and jesse, but not Maya? Damn, that promises to be some cracktastic judging.

It is kind of scary how ravenously we are eating these posts up! TLo can't post fast enough!

Never let it be said, T & Lo, that you are not wanted, loved and needed!

If Jay is not a finalist it's a damn shame. Outstanding craftsmanship, and I've been impressed with him since day one, really.

I adore Seth Aaron's color story and styling. He's not showing me anything super creative from a design standpoint, but I like it.

I would never have picked Jay or Seth Aaron's as being so good, knowing what we've seen so far on the show. But they're both really, really fantastic. I hope they're in the top 3!

Love Jay's suit.
The gown, not as much.

Not loving either of Jonathan's.

Love the plaid suit and the red dress shown by Seth.

Over all it looks like they all made the most of the opportunity.

T Lo said... Keep checking back..

You DEVILS!

just kidding I love you!

Love Jay's collection and like Seth Aaron's. If I had to guess, I'd say Jay is one of the final three.

did maya not show? she is still onthe show isn't she ?

Jay = fantastic, Seth Aaron = WOW. so not what I was expecting. Jonathan = NO.

Loving Seth Aaron's and it's such an inadvertant McQueen tribute that it makes me smile.

Jay's looks really promising. I want to see more.

Big Boy's looks like bad news.

And not even interested in seeing Boo Boo's collection.

I'd love to hear the dish on Maya.

Love Seth Aaron's yellow plaid! I'm so anxious to see more....

Sassy SA for the win.

Have to agree with the love for Seth Aaron. It's spectacular.

I just can't keep myself from posting over and over again. I just knew my love for Seth Aaron had a reason! So far, beautiful and bold outifts :D

Wow - Seth's work really looks solid and cohesive - congrats to him for a great group! Where can we purchase???!???

Thanks for posting these.

I can't say I'm not a little tired of the severe futuristic look... I actually don't mind the deconstruction in the second collection...it's interesting with the slightly romantic feel. Seth Aaron are Alexander McQueen. COME ON, man. I actually lok the collection but there's no getting around the inspiration.

or not "are" Gosh! And did I remember the question mark? lol :\

and that "lok" would be "like"

is that Kristina on SA's red dress?

As of 11:30pst, when there's still no Janeane and no Maya (!), the least of these collections is still an order of magnitude more interesting and worthy of winning than last year's final three.

I really like those two pieces by Jay, I'm impressed. And surprised.

Jonathan, I find a bit underwhelming. Feels like half-hearted decoy to me.

Seth-Aaron's aesthetic would have been oh-so-on only a couple of seasons ago. Now it's looking a bit behind.

Mister Mister

Seth Aaron has strong pieces but I just feel some are a knock off of other designers.

Plaid coat - Jillian's opening coat in her final collection
Leather Pants with a plaid stripe - Mila's Museum pant
Last Red dress - Rami's armored inspired collection

Seth Aaron has to win this. He's actually *likeable* and his collection has the most individuality. You can look at it and connect it to what he's done so far in the competition.

Jonathan seems to have embraced the no-pants-on look. Carine Roitfeld influence?

Jonathon's looks, um, unfortunate, so I'm disappointed. Liked most of Seth Aaron's, and need to see more of Jay's to decide. What happened to Boo Boo Kitty's?

I cannot believe you think Seth-Aaron's reference other designers... in PR?
His pieces here are totally referential. Of real designers. You don't really think Jillian was a first in using plaid this way?!

I love Seth-Aaron's personality. And he knows how to make clothes. But this is too referential, to done, and even if he was going for revival, he's missed that train too, the revival is done with. Well done but beyond that i's just not forward, and very little originality. Pity.

Bunim & Murray really need to find a way to work some of these decoy collections (whichever they are) into the show.

Maybe a bonus episode, following the finale. This shit is way better than Models of the Runway. :-)

Seth Aaron's doesn't look all that good to me to be honest. The stuff in his portfolio is better, and this collection doesn't seem very fashion forward to me.

Amy and Mila are clearly in the top 3, and I don't think Seth is the third.

Californiagirl

TLo, you guys are amazing! Thank you for posting so much so quickly! You guys are the Energizer bunnies of blogging! That must have been some strong coffee you were drinking this morning.

So far I'm pleasantly surprised by much of the work. Can't wait to see how it plays out through the season.

Is it me? I think these shows are all more...put together than last season. Construction in general just looks better, even when the individual designs are off.

Loving Seth Aaron's stuff. So well constructed!

Yay Seth Aaron! You rock!

I think the 3rd look down in Seth Aaron's section is actually a look from Emilio's collection (different makeup)

I'm not sure who my favorite designer is yet but I do know that TLo has done an amazing job making us all feel a part of this day at Fashion Week. From the first tweet this morning to these breaking photos being posted right now, they have worked their fingers and thumbs to the bone for us. I'm so impressed, I think I will have to start calling myself a minion.

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

RT cutblog Seen: Eliminated contestant Maya Luz strolling out the back exit after PR show, with longer hair and crazy tights. #nyfw

This is retweeted from The Cut. Maya was eliminated? When? Anyone know the backstory?

Tom and Lorenzo, you tweetie pies: What gives?

dark_blue_mania

Seth Aaron - wow. If that's a decoy, I'm gonna be pissed.

I like Seth Aaron's - feels a little bit Vivienne Westwood to me. IDK. But Jonathon's? No. I don't want boobie curtains, TYVM.

Wow, Seth Aaron's collection is beautifully refined! I actually love those leather (?) and yellow plaid leggings... If I had the legs for them!

Seth Aaron's yellow plaid dress immediately made me think of Jeffrey's couture piece. Not exactly the same fabric; must be the Happy Peanut version. :-)

Jonathan's romper thing? Is that Fatima from ANTM?

SisterZip

Impressed with Seth Aaron's.

Jonathan and Seth Aaron I like a lot.

The other two are all right- nothing out of the ordinary.

SisterZip that's what I was going to say Fatima in the tweed diapers?

Except for that last one, Seth's was very strong. If he is not in the finals, the judges are going to look like fools. (oh wait)

I REALLY would like to see more from Jay.

Again, trying to look with a critical eye, not just an "I like/don't like it" eye.

I want to see more of Jay's to make a judgment. That one dress is fabulous -- but it's impossible to judge a collection just on one look.

Janeane and Jay: Just no. Janeane's is ill-fitting and has no cohesion; Jonathan's is just too tasteless.

Seth Aaron's collection is amazing! Very identifiably him, very cohesive. I'm calling him as a finalist.

Seth Aaron FTW. If I had the figure for it, that little red dress with the skinny belt would go right into my work wardrobe.

Looking forward to seeing more of Jay's.

Janeane--blech. Jonathan--what the heck? The whole thing is fug, but that red-skirted dress with the lace curtains over the boobs has one of the weirdest looking titscrepancies I've ever seen.

how come even in getty image there is no photos of jay's collection

Jonathan was inspired by birds and insects. Did moths eat the pants off several of his models?

Seth Aaron for the win. Clearly

Seth Aaron - if this isn't a finalist collection, I'll eat my (non-existent) straw hat.

OMG, does anyone think Jonathan's is a less-sequincy Jarrells? And even LESS taste.

Janeane shouldn't even be there. It's an insult along the lines of Suede.

ASK, lol. Yes, the tweed diaper. I wonder if any of the ANTM girls could be on Models of the Runway? That would be really interesting.

I do have to say I am really liking Seth Aaron and Anthony.

SisterZip

And correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that Lauren, Jillian's model, in one of Jonathan's outfits? And Tom and Lorenzo said Amanda was modeling for Jesse... can't wait to see the pictures, she's a great model!

Nice collection from Seth but HIDEOUS styling and make-up! And those yellow tartan pants would look unflattering on even the thinnest of models. No, just NO XP!

SO impressed with Seth Aaron's collection!

Very disappointed by Jonathan's.

Looking forward to seeing more of Jay's.

Thank you TLo for doing such awesome reporting today - you made me feel like I was there too!

Seth Aaron FTW!

In general, I am so very very impressed with all these collections. Compared to the decoy shows (heck, even some of the top three shows) of seasons passed, I'm shocked at how put-together, attractive, and just plain good these are. Jesse's is the weakest (in my opinion--but who knows what Janeane's collection will bring), but even then, it's not that terrible.

SisterZip
Those two are my favs so far and that is NOT a good sign, based on previous cycles.

I was zipping up the page and the last one of Jonathan's gave me a Wendy Pepper vibe - the one in her collection with the tight squared off bustier and the full flowy skits.

Two of Mila's outfits are actually Seth Aaron's! Which makes is collection even better because they're strong pieces!

Whether real or decoy, I'm loving what I'm seeing from my boy Seth Aaron...great job!

(I really liked Anthony's, too...the rest I'm reserving opinion on until I see more. Except Mila's...blech.)

Holy cow I love Seth Aaron's! And I'm surprised about that!

I'm also surprised at how much I DON'T love Jonathan's. Ew.

Too early to tell with Jay & Boo Boo Kitty.

My faves are Ben and Seth Aaron.

Jay, what are you doing? Formal shorts and a leather/print bustier are NOT okay.

Here's to Happy Peanut and Chmurka The Hamster.

Seth Aaron's is really wonderful so far. If he isn't top 3 I will be very surprised!

Jonathan's is horrible, I especially hate the red and black long dress with the fluttery boob flaps. A big WTF?!

Jay's dress is interesting and makes me want to see more while Janeane already has me, and I'm sure Nina, very bored.

WOW! I hope the top three are Anthony, Seth Aaron, and Emilio!

I take it back-- Jonathan had the formal shorts and leather/print gauze bustier.

Mmm...I continue to like Seth Aaron's. Still with the exception of those half-plaid legging things. Those remain ick.

Jonathon apparently really dug that odd romper he made for Heidi this week, since he's remade it in wool...It's still horrid. As the Fug Girls say, Look into Pants.

Wow. I've been impressed with a lot of these collections... but SETH AARON'S. Wow! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous I hope he's not a decoy. One of my favorite final collections of all time. I love the colors so damn much.

Some of these are real impressive, like Jays and Seth Aarons, and several of Anthony's dresses are GORGE!

P.S. Is the 3rd model under...I forget who, is that Fatma from ANTM?

Thanks for the sorta-kinda spoilers TLo!

JONATHAN'S COLLECTION IS GOING TO GIVE ME NIGHTMARES! SOOOO SCARED. SOOOO SCARED!!!!!!!!!! AIEEEEEEEE!

Janeane= winner of the American Association of Home Ec Teacher's Award for Fashion.

Jay= HOT MESS

Seth Aaron= FTW (Brilliant. Bloody effing brilliant!)

Since the theme is flight and insects, are those boob wings on Jonathan's red headed model? WTF.

What is the deal with the pointy hips Jay? As a mother of one who doesn't have the money for a personal trainer and private cook the last thing I want to do it draw more attention to my hips. Sometimes I think they forget about 90% of the population.

Dharmabum, I thought they were boob-hankies. Maybe easy access for a breast-feeding mother? What ever they are, that's the worst outfit I've seen in donkey's ages.

From what I have seen here, Emilio is the winner. But I love Seth Aaron, Amy and Anthony.

Jonathon and Jaene are pretty bad in my humble opinion. Love the show!!

KO

It appears Jonathan created a complete fall award season wardrobe for the Pussycat Dolls.

On a more positive note, I already like these collections a million times better than the top three from last season.

As far as I'm concerned, Seth Aaron should win. I'm not usually a huge fan of plaid and certainly not yellow plaid but I NEED that coat. Gorgeous pieces.

Ooo more Jay! Definitely FABULOUS!

I really hope Jay and Seth Aaron are finalists, wonderful collections from both! If not they really stepped it up as decoys and used this opportunity wisely.

From viewing what is posted of the collections so far...Seth Aaron is the clear winner. Loving his collection.

Jay's, Johnathan's, and Seth Aaron's seem to be the best so far. Love Jay's personally.

Out if this group Seth is the winner hands down. But by my reckoning none of these are finalists. I love the black and grey check suit that was originally credited to Jay, The yellow scotch plaid suit, and the houndtooth pant suit ( although I would die if I had to wear houndcheck pants). The whole collection is fabulous. I hope he gets the attention of a bigshot.

oh my goshhhhh i LOVE jays. definitely my favorite.

Oh em gee JAY, finally! The one I've been waiting for all day. Yup, he's pretty freakin talented. And yet again, much like the vastly underrated paper heart bug thorax dress, we have more evidence that the truffle dress was just as heavily influenced by Jay as it was by Maya. So I have to wonder, why the editing to make it look like Jay slacked off? Hmm.... Said it before, will say it again, if he's not a finalist, he should be.

Absolutely LURVE Seth Aaron's collection!!!

Jay or Seth Aaron for the win.

Jay's collection is pretty strong!!! Very well constructed... it does remind me a little bit of Irina's collection, only better :)

Still, Seth Aaron FTW!!! He just, as Tim says, knocked their socks off!

Seth Aaron's houndstooth check jacket blows my mind- Escher is not often an inspiration for couture.

That short black-ish dress -
It's not bad enough that the model's shoulders were practically at her ears to begin with but that fabric on the shoulders combined with the model's hunching add to the effect where it looks like her boobs ae at her waist

He did do some really nice stuff though.

Nice to see this show have some great guys again this season.

Who are the MOTR models in their collections? I don't see them.

Lorenzo must have loved Seth Aaron's plaid pants! I loved his collection, and Ben's, the most. they had a modern point of view. And Jay too. Jonathan, throwing crap at a dress form does not equal dramatic. And who would wear those winter rompers?

I'm torn between Jay's and Seth Aaron's. Definitely the two strongest, cohesive collections.Plus I like them both! I like a lot of the clothes in each one, and would even like to wear a few, more with Seth Aaron's, than Jay's.

If Jay or Seth Aaron don't win, this show will have totally wiffed it, because they are both worthy of winning.

I still haven't made up my mind which one I like best, maybe Seth Aaron's by a hair. But if they choose Jay? I'd be fine with that too.

seems that a lot of the early posts confused Jay with Jonathan? (posted when only one look was up)?

I don't like the (literally) "shoulder bags" that red skirt was odd. The one with the big buttons on the skeletal vest and pants - I thought other have been criticized for those buttons.

Does anyone recognize Jay's black gown - with the big shoulders and the v-neck. I swear that seems familiar.
Seth's one model looks like a pissed of Oksana Baiul.

Omg. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Seth Aaron's. He has to be an actual finalist.

My favorite is Jonathan's orange/bronzy dress, but SETH is the clear winner. WOW. It is so head and shoulders above anything else.

Okay, Jay's third model down...I think he made those boots. Or are they some sort of knee high spats-type legging things worn over shoes? Whatever they are, they just look too much like his technique to be store bought boots. And they're awesome.

(Final thought...after looking at everything thus far, my faves...Jay, Ben, Seth Aaron, Mila. In that order. Props to Anthony for staying true to himself and workin it, although it's not to my taste.)

There's too many for me to comment, but thus far Amy, Jay, and Especially Seth Aaron have shocked me ( in a good way). What gorgeous outfits!

I'm really really liking Jay's, and I'm really surprised because he's not one of my favourites in the show thus far.
Don't like the red skirt though. Who was his model?

Jonathan's is underwhelming. Clearly a decoy collection on a short budget. He's got some good ideas and there're some cool things... There's lot of talent this season.

Seth Aaron... I want to like it. In fact there are a number of things there I'd totally wear, specially the suits. And it all looks well made and expensive. But it's all a bit... behind. Not fashion forward, lacking some edge, I don't know... predictable, unimaginative, flat... Funnily, I think the piece I like best is the coat you originally attributed to Jay. Telling.

Yes, why don't we open the way already for the conspiracy theories should the judges taste don't match our own? Never mind that already LOTS of people in this blog pointed at other designers as their favorites. But hey, if these are the ones YOU like, then anything else is producer manipulation...

The overall show sorta kicks the ass of recent seasons, doesn't it?

Would be great if Lifetime could surprise us with a broadcast of all the decoys, too. Backstage footage must be a hoot!

I imagine Tim's lying down in a dark room with a cold compress on his forehead right about now.

Seth Aaron's is nice but I'm surprised everyone seems to be wetting themselves over it. As a few others have mentioned, it's so done and not fashion forward AT ALL. I would money on the fact that he does not win, and frankly would be surprised if he even makes the top 3.

As with the others, waiting to be sure we've got the whole lineup before judging completely, but initially I'm favorable towards Jay's and definitely like Seth Aaron's even though he's using two colours I don't care for and never wear. That plaid is just cool.

Oh, goodness desertwind. Yes. Won't someone think of poor Tim?

miss fatima said is looking fierce as usual!

jay and seth aaron have some nice stuff. seeing this from seth has really got me interested!

Sweet fanciful Elvis, what is going on with boob-eyelashes on Jonathon's dress?

Epaulets by Jay is really very beautiful. Fashion with a capital F in that it is introducing elements that make interesting art on the runway and could be translated into things the mundanes could wear.

Seth's looks fantastic! polished creative plays on looks that have been done a million times, very SHARP looking. Seth for the Win!

Gigglesnort!

I came back to see if any more pics had turned up, and they have (great job guys). But I'm cracking up that the ONLY thing I liked in 'Mila's collection', which I thought looked out of place, actually belonged to my bf Seth Aaron!

SA FTW!

Loved seeing Jillian's model Lauren!

Faves: Jay, Mila, Amy, Seth Aaron.

Okay if Jay and Seth Aaron aren't the top 2, I am going to throw a hissyfit. Some of the other collections are good, but these two blow everyone else out of the freaking water. Anyone else is a distant third.

Is there a Project Runway peanut advantage? Are peanuts genertically predisposed to great Bryant Park collections.

With his collection, I would be happy if the "Happy Peanut" won this year.

I also like Jay's and adores certain outfits in Anthony's and Emilio's. Amy lost me with her face-covering mini muumuu. (Can someone tell me the cartoon character or muppet that looks like Amy's dress? It's killing me that I can't remember.)

Cousin It from the Addams Family maybe?

This is my top three: Amy, Jay & Seth Aaron. These 3 collections look the most promising and interesting!

Jonathan's "gritty meets pretty" became whacky meets tacky. Really wanted to like his collection because I like him, but it is dreadful. Boob hankies? What was he thinking?

Can't get past the first look in Jay's collection. How can he make a flat chested, ultra thin model look like her boobs are sagging down to her hips. Looks gross.

Boo Boo's is boring, but fortunately not a Suede-like, cringeworthy collection.

Happy peanut FTW. His collection seems the strongest.

Mary Ellen, yes, that's it. Cousin It.

Now, next question, why would anyone think that Cousin It was an attractive look? I don't get it.

Although several of these collections have been interesting, I ADORE Jay's. It's beautiful, looks cohesive, and I don't know... I just love it.

SA's is okay. I like the color and the plaids... but I feel like design wise he wasn't that creative besides picking out neat fabrics. Maybe that's just me, though.

wow jay & seth aaron both have some great stuff here. i think jay's proportions are a little off on the torsos, but hes got gorgeous details. and seth aaron has a wonderful graphic style. very impressed.

booboo kitty's clothes make me sad, but jonathon actually had a couple of cute things. but can we veto boob ruffles forever?

LOOOOOVE Seth Aaron. Flippin' GORGEOUS.

Jay's is good, too, but I don't like the oversized epaulets at all. The other shoulder pieces are interesting, but the multi-layered huge epaulets are a big ol' no for me.

Anyone else laugh at the one girl's tits trying to fly away in Jonathan's show? *snerk*

ok - my top 3/4 for the season - based on the collections - seth aaron, mila, and then either jay or anthony. im hoping those are the ones that make it to the finale. at least 2 of them look like theyve had the guiding hand of tim involved before showtime.

i think the last piece from jay is very rihanna, noh

Janene's and Jonathon's collections are painful.

Boo Boo Kitty's collection is so pathetic and sad. I feel sorry for her. Seriously. I want to cry. Decoy!

I don't think Jonathan likes females. Between the diapers and the exploding kleenex box and the boobie hankies and being inspired by bugs....it's a shame because I liked some of his garments so far on the show. Decoy!

I really liked Jay's collection. Even the oversized epaulets and shoulders were interesting and his color and shape story keep me wanting to see more. Hoping he's a finalist.

My fave is Seth Aaron. This to me is "gritty meets pretty". There's a harder punky edge with some beautiful feminine pieces. I just love the story as a whole, that coat originally attributed to Mila is to die for and I must have those two suits!!!

He looks ridiculous in his outfit at the show, but hey, it's okay as long as the collection is good!!

Seth Aaron knocked it out of the (Bryant) Park.

I think Ben's is my favorite. Love Jay's too. Seth Aaron's seems extremely well made and I like him as a person a lot, though I'm not as enthusiastic about it as others here.

Dayum, though! In general, there is so much talent in this season!! I could see many of these collections easily winning (or coming in top two) in past seasons.

Also, am I the only one THRILLED that we get to see the work of so many of the designers this season? I've long wished that more designers got to show during fashion week. I LOVE seeing the work of each of the designers when they have the time and the resources to do it right. I don't think it devalues the competition at all, it gives us more dresses to rip! And when has that ever been a bad thing?? :)

-E

Seth Aaron's collection is the winner if he's a finalist. You know who he is as a designer and who his client is, not to mention the looks are fab.

Some beautiful pieces in other collections, but to me Seth Aaron's is the only one that feels like a professional collection. Mila did a pretty good job too.

I love Seth Aaron's things. I could see a variety of celebrities wearing these for statement pieces. A few look like they were designed with Lady Gaga in mind.

Janeane's collection is boo boo boring. I'd like to take this blown opportunity and hand it to Ping who would have been anything but boring.

I like Jay's aesthetic, but a lot of his collection reminds me of Irina's but without its power, and that's not a good thing.

Jonathan's collection is Exhibit A that Jesus wasn't the only one with taste issues. It's terrible from start to finish.

SA's collection is bold, ballsy, and takes no prisoners. I love that he went for it and I love that black and white check pantsuit.

Oh jonathan, why did you have to goto tacky town? So disappointing, as I've liked his work on the show so far. He needs a better editing eye. Jay's is hit and miss. too gimmicky, but has a strong aesthetic.

Janeane, I hate to say this since you seem like a nice girl, and I'm a Portlander too, but why did you bother? You had a chance to show at BP and you put out a bunch of Gap/Banana republic clothes. Nothing is worse in fashion than boring.

Seth Aaron is the winner. No contest. Unless he's the kara janx of this season.

after looking at these a few times, I have to ask ... the model for Seth Aaron's 4th outfit (black and white striped dress) ... her facial expression is driving me bonkers. It's like she's sucking a lemon and pissed off about it. Is it just me? (It usually is!)

Ok, I just have one question.

Jonathan, I love you. I want you to have my babies... but why are you dressed exactly like Doctor Ruth circa 1986?

Love,

Me.

Janeane - decoy. Jay - undecided, but I love those boots. They have a Bladerunner feel about them. Jonathan -fugly decoy. Seth - definitely a contender/possible finalist.

That first jacket thingy of Jay's and Seth's entire collection: GET IN MAH CLOSET!!!

Wow, I declaring myself fan of Seth Aaron and Jay Nicholas, those were the most outstanding collections in my personal ranking. Seth Aaron has a very solid concept and style to all the pieces and totally wearable, besides we already know how to recognize his own personal style from very far distance. Jay has refined very much (not many fabric tumors like the first challenge).

In Jonathan, I was distracted by the bodice of many of the dresses... The boobs were insane!! Besides there are so much rufles and fabric that I get confused.

Don't make me talk about Janeane... I didn't feel anything with the pieces (sorry girl, nothing new...). Obvious decoy.

Seth's designs SCREAM editorial and on-trend. La Nina should be over the moon.

Usually I wound't be thrilled with a straight white guy being on top - but Seth's designs are everything that a PJ is supposed to be. If he is one of the 'decoy' designers - expect riots and a Tim Gunn meltdown.

I cannot comment on the collections:

If I try, I will write and rewrite, edit and re-edit, down to the line-breaks, and then two hours will have passed, and then the stack of papers calling to be graded will weep, and then the books demanding to be re-read for tomorrow's classes will whine, and then...

(I was just diagnosed with adult ADD, which is actually a tremendous relief and revelation, but learning to manage it means not indulging in certain pleasures until I can do so less destructively.)

I just want to bear witness to the tireless dedication of TLo——

I first checked in about an hour after I awoke, 7 my time, 11 pm EST (I live in the Middle East)——

As a reward for a span of sustained grading, I checked in again at 1.30 my time to find a mass of new photos——

Such a treat for me: new posts on my time...

You must have been up all night.

More than many thanks——

(With apologies for any typos: I am also dyslexic, prone to comedic horrors, but if I hit preview and start editing... )

YMMV, but I think that SA's ninth piece--that smashingly gorgeous gray print trench--is the best piece in the entire PR show. And it's totally wearable, besides. Bravo, Seth.

Jonathan seems to have put several of his models in diapers and he's draped half a box of tissues right under the nose of another. Honestly, Jonathan. We're not that messy.

Janeane's is very meh... which is not surprising, I guess. There's some nice pieces, though. It's not a travesty/embarassment like Suede's or Jerell's in S5.

Jay's is really good, I don't respond well to his aesthetic but he clearly had a vision for this collection. It's very cohesive and well-made. Those leather leg-warmer things he styled his models with are very cool.

I don't like Jonathan's at all, which is a shame, because I liked his work on the show so far. Some of the models look like playboy bunnies on a Renaissance fair. Most of the looks are a bit overworked and not very flattering.

Seth Aaron's collection is really strong. In fact, I think it's fabulous. Perfectly tailored, beautiful looks, and very hip and on trend (maybe a bit derivative but I don't mind actually). I completely adore that 9th look, the shiny-ish gray/white checked coat with leather belt. I hope he will do menswear sometimes, so I have something to covet.

Lauren! =D

There's one look in Jay's collection that just reminds me so much of a look Jillian Lewis did for her Spring '10 collection. His is cohesive and nice, just not my taste.

But SETH AARON! I was rooting for Amy before, but I now hope Seth Aaron wins. His collection is DIVINE!

Caity, I am with you! I predict Seth Aaron for the WIN! If Anthony is not in the top three he should be based on his evening wear collection. I want both collections in my closet.

TampaBay

Janease's was surprisingly good.

I'm officially on Team Jay now. That was freaking fantastic.

I'm not as intoxicated by Seth Aaron's as everyone else seems to be. I actually don't really like it. It feels heavy.

Bravo Jay! Gorgeous tailoring! The shapes were so interesting and each time I scrolled down I was surprised by the next design! Not a lot of outfits that would be worn in the real world, but very good style.

LOVE Seth Aaron's. Jay's is very good but it reminds me so much of Irina's. Jeaneane, sadly, was obviously a decoy. Really poorly-fitted and cheap-looking.

Jeanane - No, just no

Jay - for the win!! Really some different, beautiful looks.

Jonathan - dressing the Hootchie Momma for today!

Seth Aaron - HUH?? I just don't get it.

Spiral Jacobs

None of these designers wound up with the models I expected them to have... there could be clues here as to who's in the Final 3, since I think Holly and Lorena would be selected first.

Brandise with Mila
Valeria with Janeane (doesn't bode well for Valeria)
Brittany with Jay
Kristina with Seth Aaron
Monique with Anthony
Lorena with Emilio
Alexis with Jesse (only non-surprise in the bunch)
Holly with Amy (really?!? How did Emilio let that happen?)
Alison with Ben
Cerri (as a brunette) with Jonathan

Did I get this right? I guess that means Megan is eliminated next week. Can anyone glean anything else from this list?

after scrolling through all the collections, i think emilio, jay and seth aaron are the final three. and if they aren't, i will cut nina garcia and michael kors (no point cutting heidi; that woman is too gorgeous to be human). of the 3 i can't decide who i want to win. i want all of their pieces :)

ben is a close 4th for me because he's so damn adorable. ms. anthony needs to step up the game on the clothes, but he'll always have a special place in my little fruitfly heart

Argh. Seth Aaron, your styling hurts my eyes. That is all.

The similarities between Jay's collection and Irina's from season 6 is striking, and NOT in a good way. His collection looks like Irina, Part 2.

What I find most intriguing, after watching carefully all the clothes from all the designers, is the significant number of good collections. As we know there are only 3 finalists (or at the most 4) it amazes me to see that some of the decoys are actually BETTER than other seasons finalists' collection (Wendy Pepper, Santino, [dear] Mychael, and let's not forget last season's blah and dull collections). Well done :)

Jay and Emilio are totally 2 of the top 3. The final spot looks like it belongs to Seth Aaron or *gasp* Jesse!

Jonathon makes some figure-hating fashions, but bless him for choosing models that didn't look one tic-tac away from starvation. His girls looked pretty healthy and weren't made-up to look like zombies.

Janeane's girls made me feel sad. I know a lot of it is the styling, but they looked malnourished, it was dire.

JAY!! Wow! Now that I've seen the whole thing, I am just gobsmacked. mad skillz. And that purplish shruggy jacket thing--fabulous.

SA--not my aesthetic at all, but clearly talented and should be top 3.

I'm liking Jay, Seth Aaron, and Amy the best, with Jay FTW.

Jay--Irina called, she'd like her collection back.

Based purely on the strongest models from the show, it seems that Emilio, Amy and Anthony are in the top 3. Plus perhaps Seth Aaron if there is a top 4.

Uahu, great to see the final collections!

I like Jeanene's quite a bit! Not in a uahu look at that! sort of way, but it's a fairly decent colection, with some nice shapes and touches, and a Jil Sander feel.

Jay's is great. Some beautiful looks, I'd be surprised he's a decoy. Wasn't a fan, but I really like this collection. I agree with whoever says it seems to take where Irina left. It's like a sort of grown-up version of Irina's edgier collection. One thing about this collection, it doesn't look particularly young, quite mature.

Jonathan's I'm also liking better now that I see the whole thing. It's the weakest collection, but still has some good touches and detailing.

Seth-Aaron I am also appreciating today better, as some of the looks I like better were not up yesterday. It is also a great collection, beautifully made, some gorgeous outfits, lots of things I also personally like. But I still think he has some issues with originality (lack thereof).

All in all I think the 10 collections are great. There is nothing there that come down to the low quality of, say, a Caron Hannah, not to speak about past decoys. Lots and lots of talent. Still not sure whether any measures up to Irina's collection though...

- Don

The more pieces that TLo adds here for all the designers, the more it looks like Seth Aaron for the win. Exquisite, bold, fresh.

And by the way, I just want to say I am very GLAD we got to see all these collections by so many talented designers, so thumbs up to the decoy overdose.

Janeane - Seriously, what was that? Actually sad.
Jay - Gorgeous!
Jonathan - Hate all the chandelier pieces; too Moulin Rouge for my taste.
Seth Aaron - LOVE. IT.

Also, thank you so much for all your hard work guys, you must've been up all night putting these posts together. I've been patiently waiting for them : ) Love you, guys!

What is with that weird traffic signal boob-coverage treatment of Jay's--the one with the red pants with...cape? back skirt? Liking Seth, but yeah, it does look like McQueen. Still like it, though.

The more I look at Seth Aaron's collection, the more I like it (except for that one piece that looks like an explosion of black vinyl).

That woven coat is gorgeous! It reminds me of Korto's seat belt coat.

Okay. I have to see I think these collections, taken as a whole, are incredibly strong. How many seasons have there been when the finalists didn't get the whole concept of a collection? It seems like only Janeane just made pretty clothes. Many of these are a strong aesthetic, have a real point of view to them. How many seasons would the top ten designers have made such strong collections? We don't usually have collections this good in the final 3.

The model rundown:

Monique is with Anthony
Lorena is with Emilio
Holly is with Amy

Arguably, these are the stongest 3 models. Do we have our top 3 here?

Some other posters have commented as to how Emilio could let Amy get Holly. If you watch the end of the first episode of MOTR ("this season on MOTR"), there is a clip showing Holly in tears re: Emilio. Apparently, there is some shakeup brewing regarding their relationship.

Should be interesting to see how that plays out for the model choices.

I've waited until all the photos have been posted before giving an opinion. Not that it's changed much, heh.

Janeane: Perfectly fine separates, but nothing special. I consider her the weakest designer left, and while I didn't expect anything as horrific as the Suede Barbie Crack collection, I didn't have much hope for her. So, it's not bad, not embarrassing, but really nothing at all special or new.

Jay: ADORE. From the moment I saw the coat from his portfolio, I hoped to see a collection like this. There's something soft to his looks, even though they are very structured. And though he's working the dark colors, it's not a depressing collection--it reads "fall" not "dreary". If he's a top 3, I can see him taking the whole shebang.

Jonathan: Oh dear. Look, the pantless thing is in, I get that, but it doesn't mean I like it. I don't want to wear rompers. You can't make me. But even if I look beyond the rompers, so much of this collection is WTF, and not in a good way. He's not designing for women, he's designing for runway, and it comes off as contrived. And boob flaps? Really Jonathan? Really?

Seth Aaron: I love me Seth Aaron in all his age-inappropriate glory. At first I thought he was a poseur, but now I think he's completely genuine, and I love his dorky punk style. It's funny, but I'm not surprised at his collection. I think it's completely him. The plaids, the leather, the edginess. The genius of the collection is that it's totally rock, but not in a way that's scary or overdone. Women of all ages could wear pieces of this collection and feel like their letting their rock diva out, but not look ridiculous while doing it. And the silver checked coat with the leather belt? WANT. NOW.

If Seth Aaron and Jay are in the final 3, I think their collections will go down as two of the best finale shows in the history of PR. And if they're not, I will weep, heh.

Think I'm commented-out here.
Like Jonathan and Seth Aaron.
Jay's is good, just not my thing I guess.
And Janeane. Poor Janeane. Found out about it at the the last minute and had to build her collection out of the finalists' scraps and stuff she picked up at the mall.

Jay's collection is my favorite from this group. I also really like Seth Aaron's collection. Thanks for posting the collections, Tlo!

Good bad and better but other than Janeane's collection I was not bored by any of the collections. It seems like ages since I was able to say that!

Seth-Aaron does black and white much better than Mila, IMHO. Props to SA & Jay -- yowza!

Jonathan, we had such high hopes for you ... and we get ... rompers. And boob fluff. (sigh)

Of these 3, I'd say Jay has the most consistent and strong collection. BooBoo Kitty & seth each have a few strong pieces, but Jay's entire collection is first rate.

i'm voting for jay i love his collections!!!!

I wish I could like Jonathan's, but I just don't. It looks like he went to the place where gritty meets pretty but pretty never showed up.

Janeane, seriously? What did she put up there that you couldn't find at Wal-Mart?

Jay's was wow but Seth Aaron, aMAzing!

-Purple Leah

Janeane - definitely a decoy
Jay - maybe a finalist
Jonathan - probably a decoy
Seth Aaron - definitely a finalist

I've never in my life been in a WalMart, but sometimes you guys make be feel like I should give it a try...

I wonder if Seth Aaron's choice of so much plaid is an homage to Alexander McQueen? If so, it's a classy touch and he's used it beautifully. Love how well constructed his stuff is, even if I don't always like the shapes and the color palette?

What really bugs me is to see horribly constructed stuff, even among the "decoy" collections. Come on people, only the best should show at Bryant Park, and some of those ill-constructed, ill-fitting nightmares simply have no place.

What I love about most of the BP collections this year is that SO MANY of them have a clear point of view and are executed really really well.

This year, more than any other year, I think, it comes down to a matter of the judges' taste. I could easily see three of the collections, maybe more, winning, for different reasons. Assuming the best collections belong to the people who end up in the final three, I think it will just come down to the judges' personal opinions on where they think fashion should go and whose point of view they want to support.

Jay Jay all the Way! Super edgy, fresh & crisp lines with layers. Bold and innovative, I love lapels

Ha ha!

WHAT is Jonathan wearing?

I have finallly looked at Jay's complete collection and it is really strong. I hope he and Seth Aarron are finalists. My favorite piece is the red jacket with the fish scale detail on the sleeve worn with the grey metalic dress (that also appears to have some interesting detail). His shorts looks are strong, but I'm not loving the gowns. The grey cocktail dress with the fish scale skirt with football shoulder pads if fantastic.

Some of Janeane's models are not good. Her collection has some fine wearable pieces, but not a contender in any way.

I know, right? My guess is a pencil skirt or knee breeches.

Oooh, I like Seth Aaron's a lot! Reminds me of the Alexander McQueen Fall '09 and the couture dress Jeffrey made on PR with all the plaid and houndstooth. I'm hoping he's top 3.

Did anyone else notice how easy it was to picture Jay in any one of the looks in his collection?

My favorite collections are from Anthony, Seth Aaron, Ben, Amy and Mila, in that order. Since Anthony did evening wear, I think he won't win because the judges have in the past favored street wear. Janeane's collection was definitely the worst. The others had some good looks, but also a number of bad ones in my opinion.

What model is paired with Jay? I don't recognize any of them.

I would love to see Jay as a finalist. He collection is very well made clean, strong while still romantic and light. In second would have to be Seth Aaron I have to say "AMAZING". I like that he used brighter colors. Im seriously over the black in the industry. Get over it already it already. It's a base color, too depressing in the entire collection.......

JAY ROCKS!!!!!!!

I have to say, you guys were so right about Seth Aaron. I like him more and more.
