And the Big Question of the Day...(Spoilerish)

Whatever happened to Baby Maya?

When we first entered the tent and were milling around meeting up with various designers (Jesus came running right up to us and for a second, we were a little afraid he was going to throw a drink in our faces and slap us viciously, but he could NOT have been more adorable), one of the designers we stopped for a quick picture was Maya. After she graciously posed for us and walked away, a lightbulb went off over our heads. "Waitaminnit, what is she doing out here?" You see, all the finalists and decoys are backstage at that point. You NEVER see them out front until they come out to introduce their collections. You rarely even see them after the show is over as they usually have press or filming to do backstage. We didn't think of it again until people were tweeting back or responding to our tweet post asking where her collection was.

Tim said that any designers left after last night's elimination would be showing at Bryant Park, so what happened there? We can't even speculate. That's why we have you. So...speculate away.

Crap! She must be out next. She must have really fucked up to be cut over Jeanine and Jesse.

Maybe she's out next week (Unlikely)? Maybe she didnt' want to be a decoy? Maybe she got a job?

WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK HER? :-)

I'm sure one of the other designers knows.

My guess is going to be that she was so disgusted and angry about her auf-ing that she refused to do a decoy collection.

Although if that was the case why would she go to the shows? Questions questions....

Either she's out next and someone is really bad at math (or the schedule changed) or else something happened where she couldn't finish her collection, yah?

Would anyone ever not WANT to do a collection? It's your chance to show at Bryant Park in front of a lot of important people, I mean, no matter how mad you are at the show, it would seem the event is so important that it doesn't matter.

My money is on personal or professional commitments that kept her from working on a collection.

Who even cares anymore? I am about fed up with this show. Ten finalists, eleven finalists, blah blah. If more than half of the designers get to show under the tent, where is the drama? Now, for the rest of the season when a designer gets auf'd it just doesn't matter. Who was the genius that scheduled this seasons show?

maybe it was a Jack like situation, where an illness took her out of the competition?

She finally gave in to the urge to cut someone with her scissors?

I should not joke about that - I actually worked in an office where a woman (literally "woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown") assaulted a coworker with a pair of scissors. She was institutionalized, served her time, and came back to the job they saved for her. The day she came back to work was interesting.

Everyone was on their best behavior.

She has an identical twin who was out front while she was back with her fab collection!! haha.

she quits and decided to leave the project runway or she was not able to finish all her garments.

I just love a good mystery.
Perhaps the smoking gun is still in the work room, along with the fedora white gloves and martini glass.

I've been waiting for this post!

I think she was too busy (would her contract allow that?) with a new job to do a 10 piece collection.

Regardless of why, she missed out on a great opportunity.

As it turns out Mila is Maya from the future and only one of them was allowed to show a collection since technically they are the same person....

I'm going to go with quit/disqualified sometime before the end.

I don't think they miscalculated; Tim's vlog was recorded last week and he would've known if the schedule were a little off. Unless new info comes to light from him this week I guess.

And it seems really, really unlikely that she'd refuse to show a decoy, as the exposure is really worth it regardless, and if she were boycotting she wouldn't be at the show.

So, yeah.

RT cutblog Seen: Eliminated contestant Maya Luz strolling out the back exit after PR show, with longer hair and crazy tights. #nyfw

This is retweeted from The Cut, posted about 4 hours ago. I about fell over when I read it. Glad to know I'm not the only puzzled kitten.

Tom and Lorenzo, you tweetie pies, we are counting on you to solve this mystery!

How going out next week would have prevented her showing? the point was that all not out yesterday, would show today... It wouldn't make much sense to tell us today who's out next week...
Maybe she just didn't want to show?

One thing is for sure: she's not top-3.

I personally don't think she's done that much up to now. That noodle look everybody kept referring as hers, was Jay's. All the same, I like her.

I'm going with other commitments that didn't allow her to do a collection.

I doubt the PR contract pays for and forces all non-finalists to do a final collection. (I'm sure finalists are contractually obligated by PR.)

As such, if she has another job, why should she spend her own money and her own time (time=money) to do a BP collection -- esp. if her new job is for a fashion house that doesn't want her displaying her work on her own.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Maybe she had to leave because of family/medical issues? Or she cheated somehow and was kicked off.
Also, lmao SusanID!

Maybe she made it to the Top 4/3 then went against the rules with something and then wasn't eligible to show her collection?

Far-fetched. But what makes me think that is Tim Gunn in his video blog last week said that ALL the remaining designers were going to show. So if he didnt know Maya was not going to show, she either didnt want to show because shes a decoy, or something bad happened during the finale?

Poor Maya. I think she is out next. The contestants sign a contract and if they are asked to make a collection, they make a collection . I believe if she refused she would be sued and also would not have been at the BP show.

last night's previews showed another competition next week with kids. I bet she gets cut next week and everyone else after her gets to do a collection.
cathi

He must have scared the children with one look of hers

I think she had to go on a secret mission, infiltrating Boris Badinoff's latest plan to blow up the earth.

Rocky & Bullwinkle, representing a top secret international coalition, offered her a choice: Make a collection for Bryant Park, Maya, or save the planet.

What else could she do?

This comment has been removed by the author.

She may be out next (hard to believe, since she's doing well so far).

She may have become ill.

She may have found another career path.

Who knows?

LOL...they found out she was really younger Mila from Timeline B who had won her season back in 2004 before the timelines merged, and thus she was disqualified.

In all seriousness, I wonder if she had a problem emerging from Mila's shadow in the judging as she does have a Mila Mini Me thing going on there. Shame if that happened though because she's definitely more talented than Jesse and Janeane. If she wasn't offered a chance to make a decoy with the other ten that are left in the competition that's an awful snub though considering they had to know at this point the audience has no idea she was auf'd. Maybe she landed a job after she was auf'd and couldn't do the decoy?

Who even cares anymore? I am about fed up with this show. Ten finalists, eleven finalists, blah blah. If more than half of the designers get to show under the tent, where is the drama? Now, for the rest of the season when a designer gets auf'd it just doesn't matter. Who was the genius that scheduled this seasons show?

While I see where you're coming from (it's less of a special treat now and more of an entitlement), I can't help but feel grateful that we don't have to wonder this year what so-and-so would have come up with if only given the chance. Most of this year's crop seems to have risen to the occasion.

I will also point out that you don't need to seek out the photos. Lots of people--probably even the majority of viewers--avoid them, don't bother, or aren't even aware that Fashion Week has come and gone, let alone that there are umpteen decoys. If you're digging for information to the point that your enjoyment is compromised, I don't see how it's the show's fault.

She actually made a collection, but there was a last minute elimination challenge pre-runway?

Nah. Probably something mundane like she had work commitments.

Shame.

She probably went back to school. She is only 22. There is no way you could put together a 10 look collection that you would be proud of showing if you were taking classes full-time.

Of course, she must not come in 4th or 5th place because she would have known putting a decoy collection was likely.

I'm going out on a limb and say Maya probably won project runway. Hey it could be possible :)

Sewing Siren, that's more along the lines of what I was imagining for a Spring cover. I was surprised nobody did a girly floral for this challenge.

I also think she was so upset about getting auf'd that she didn't make a decoy, but went to tents to support the other designers since she seems pretty friendly with them.

Col. Mustard in the Conservatory with the lead pipe? Maybe Maya stepped out like Giacomo did on "Shear Genius", or she got aufed in next week's episode. At any rate, it makes for interesting conversation.

I think she couldn't make it because she's currently filming the Bettie Page mini-series for Lifetime.

--GothamTomato

I doubt the PR contract pays for and forces all non-finalists to do a final collection. (I'm sure finalists are contractually obligated by PR.)

I think it's highly, highly unlikely that they've gotten all of the decoys thus far (five by my count) to pay their own way to Fashion Week. They need the decoys to maintain suspense--why would they ever (a) not lock the decoys down contractually, and (b) put the financial obligation on the decoys, thus making it less likely that they'd show? Every glitch like Maya hurts the ratings potential a little.

Having said that, I think the likeliest explanations are (a) the next episode was meant to air earlier, or (b) some emergency left her genuinely unable to do a collection. Lifetime would not release her to take another job out of the goodness of their hearts. And if she somehow refused to participate out of spite, she probably wouldn't have been let into the tent.

erm, maybe that's just what happens when you "throw Tim Gunn under the bus" lol!

Whatever the reason, I hope it's good enought that she will always be remembered because of it.

I'll be devasted if she's auf'd at the kiddie challenge. However, I'm thinking the real reason probably has something to do with professional and/or personal commitments.

Poor girl. I liked her.

This is the best scenario!

When they go over the prizes at the beginning of the show, note that they don't mention showing at New York Fashion Week as one of the prizes . . . Didn't that used to be?

How is this for a crazy far-fetched theory - they already declared he the winner and are planning some kind of future extavaganza.

Since so many of you thought that letting them all show was not fair to the winner, they decided to hold her back to make her show extra special.

yea I don't buy it either but with all the conjecture...

BPR has spotted Maya at Christian Siriano's show! Did she change clothes? Is this a clue? Are Tom and Lorenzo going to Christian's show?

She was at a PR event before this season aired. I thought then- she's either a top finalist or..

everyone else shown were previous contestants.

Either way, I hope it was her choice and not an aufing.

WHY DOES ANYONE EVEN CARE? THIS SHOW IS SO LAME. IT'S DEAD LET'S ALL MOVE ON.
ZZZZZZZ.

@ anonymous

Dead? From what I can see from these pictures, it is so not dead!

My guess is that she didn't make the final three (slash four) and was later asked to do one of the ten decoy collections, but she didn't want to or wasn't able to (health reasons, etc.).

Maybe her collection is being shown seperately because that was an extra goody for winning one of the later challenges.

boys loved the twitter this a.m. & all of the posts so far.

big thanks to you & it was a great way to end this snow covered week.

xo

I think she had too much other stuff on her plate to have the time to finish a collection. I can't speculate at what this stuff might be but I think that's the most logical reason. But no one knows except her and the PR people.

Maybe she dropped out between this week and next week's episode?

It would have to be something major for her not to show. Didn't they force Austin? Granted different producers and network then, but I think they lock them into their contracts pretty tightly. And if she had cheated, she probably wouldn't have been invited to the finale. Personal emergency is my bet.

Although she may have been held downtown for questioning about the butlers murder.

A question for the forums. We know the finalists get a budget ($10K I think?) for their collections. Do the decoy-ers get any funding?

Miss Heather, I remember Austin got a budget but it was substantially lower than the other S1 finalists got. Not sure if the same is true of other seasons, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm curious about this, too. Maybe she was let go in the Episode 9 shock elimination (Victorya, Terri, and Shirin were all let go in Ep 9 while in 2nd or 3rd place) and was angry enough that she declined to be a decoy. Or maybe there was an emergency of some sort. I'm glad she was able to make it to the event, at least.

Wow. I have totally had her pegged for a finalist.

From her website:

February 27, 2010 - Maya Luz's collection will be featured at "Shake the Runway" a Haitian disaster benefit show in partnership with Ede Haiti and Fashion Expose to raise funds for disaster victims. For more information and to purchase tickets visit www.bostonfashionexpose.com

My guess is that she was a decoy, and that she asked & got permission to show her collection as part of this benefit.

@LaurieRoz, I like it. That would be a very satisfying solution to the mystery. Hope you're right!

Do the decoy-ers get any funding?

Since Lifetime didn't do decoys last year, it's hard to say for sure if they're funding them. As far as I know Bravo did fund them every year, though with a lot less than the actual finalists got.

There is something about that I've wondered, though. The finalists are stuck with their budget, of course, but are the decoys? Because if I were a decoy and I had a shot of getting attention at Bryant Park, I'd probably try to find some additional budget. Maybe one of this year's decoys will be willing to discuss details of this (if they're allowed to).

If Maya dropped out to do a charity event why wasn't this announced? We were led to believe it would be the designers standing as of last night. BPR is asking the same question - where was Maya?

I think the suggestion is not that she dropped out, but that her decoy collection was in effect donated to the charitable cause. But here's an interesting speculation: Did Tim say specifically that all remaining designers would show at Bryant Park, or did he say they all would show a collection during Fashion Week? Because the Charity for Haiti is part of BOSTON's Fashion Week.

@Kelsey: Brilliant, Laughed and laughed out loud on your time traveler comment!

I think the decoys get the same amount as finalists. (or at least they did Seasons 1-5).

Correction! Seasons 2-5.

It does look like Lifetime put out quite a bit of cash for the decoys. No obvious rings cost-wise.

Just curious...
I live IN boston and have never heard of a fashion week, is this for real?

thanks,
zinnia

Zinnia, From Maya Luz's website, I got to this link which talks about the charitable event for Haiti: http://bostonfashionexpose.com/. Click on "About Us," and it talks about Boston Fashion Week, apparently begun in 1995. So now you know!

Anna was not there too right?

I'm sad. I was looking forward to seeing a collection by her!

If suspense is so important, THEN WHY DOES LIFETIME.COM SHOW YOU WHO WAS THE WINNER/LOSER NEXT TO THE EPISODE LINK?
I don't have cable, so this bites me EVERY TIME! You just can't not notice.

If suspense is so important, THEN WHY DOES LIFETIME.COM SHOW YOU WHO WAS THE WINNER/LOSER NEXT TO THE EPISODE LINK?

They do that when the episode has already aired.

If you haven't watched the episode, and don't want to know the outcome until you have, why on earth would you go to the show's website?

maybe maya is the decoy or the mole or maybe she has the immunity idol..

If you haven't watched the episode, and don't want to know the outcome until you have, why on earth would you go to the show's website?

Maybe because the show's website also airs episodes?

Tina said...There is something about that I've wondered, though. The finalists are stuck with their budget, of course, but are the decoys? Because if I were a decoy and I had a shot of getting attention at Bryant Park, I'd probably try to find some additional budget. 2/12/10 7:43 PM

Each designer has to submit a copy of their receipts to Tim, as seen in S1 with Kara Saun and S3 with Jeffrey. There must be a clause that if you exceed the budget and cannot trim the excesses from the collection, you will be disqualified.

Amiable dispatch and this post helped me alot in my college assignement. Say thank you you as your information.

If you haven't watched the episode, and don't want to know the outcome until you have, why on earth would you go to the show's website?

Because lifetime is stupid and doesn't believe in Hulu!

Each designer has to submit a copy of their receipts to Tim,

Again, I know this applies to the finalists. What I'm wondering is if it applies to the decoys, who, I note, we generally don't see prepping for the show.

Maya is from my hometown and this story appeared in the local paper before Season 7 started. It has nothing to do with what she was doing at FW, but her fans may find it interesting.

http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2010/jan/13/project-runway-barron-collier-grad-hopes-win/#comments

she must have done something incredibly horrible (or pulled herself out of the running) if jeanine got to show her shit at bryant park. you know jeanine isn't in the final 3 because she didnt even finish half her clothes (nothing fits right, hems are falling, etc). it's just sad

she must have done something incredibly horrible (or pulled herself out of the running) if jeanine got to show her shit at bryant park.

Do people even bother to read? It's incredible. It's been said over and over that anyone not eliminated as of last Thursday's episode would show at Bryant Park. (SEE, for example: "Tim said that any designers left after last night's elimination would be showing at Bryant Park, so what happened there? ")

So why would even think this???

I think you guys give to much ado to the exposure these designers get in NY Fashion week. It doesn't look to me like industry names (beyond Marie Claire people) go to see their show. It's more like a reality-TV event, not likely to get them contracts in the area. So if you're a decoy and have something else to do, that may be enough reason not to go. It's not such a big deal. I think the Haiti runway explanation sounds quite plausible.

What I would suggest is that it wasn't Maya who declined to show at Bryant Park in favor of the charitable event, but that it was actually Lifetime's idea. With 11 designers and collections to show, why not donate one to a good cause? She would have already had her decoy collection nearly complete. It would be good PR for both her and Lifetime. But anyway, we'll see if there is any such announcement soon.

I'm actually disappointed. I really like her clothes and was looking forward to seeing her collection.

Okay. Wait a minute here. The last ten designers standing (including decoys) were supposed to show. Ten showed. Maya would have been 11. She must have been auffed on the children's challenge. I have read interviews with her in the last couple of weeks where she says things like "probably some good will come out of my time on PR." If she were one of the finalists, I doubt she'd be that tepid on the benefits. The Boston Globe ran an article with her in January and I must say she didn't seem to be boiling over with commitments--it sounded distinctly like an interview with an auffed contestant.

Except in a video blog from last week, Tim said anyone left from the last episode (meaning the Marie Claire cover episode) would be showing. Though IIRC, he said that would mean "10 or 11" designers. So perhaps he already knew Maya wouldn't be showing.

There is no way I can see Janeane outlasting Maya. None. I mean, stranger things have happened, but Janeane is barely hanging on as is, while Maya's had some very promising looks and has been in the top 3. There would have to be some powerful crack smoking going on to auf Maya before Janeane.

I'm not sure how it transpired, but I believe she was intended as a decoy and that collection will now show at the Haiti benefit instead. Which is pretty cool, and also means we'll still see it.

Every season designers with seemingly more talent and skill get eliminated before some that seem less talented .
So I would not be shocked if Maya were eliminated next.

I believe when T and Lo interviewed Sweet P she said she had the same budget for her decoy collection, but not the same amount of time. She was notified much later that she would indeed have to present a collection at BP inorder to not reveal the outcome of the last two challenges that had not been aired. She already had an new job and was in China. She had to quit and return to LA to hastily finish a collection for Project Runway.
The collections that the designers create for Project Runway belong to Project Runway. If PR wanted to auction them off or show them again to benefit Haiti they could and would. Maya was obviously free on the day of the BP show. I think it that next weeks epi was orignaly scheduled to air before the BP show. Hence Maya did not get a budget or chance to show.
I think if she is donating a collection to Haiti it is her own. Nothing to do with Project Runway. Quite commendable for someone just starting out in the buisness, I must say.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm wondering if Tim said, "All designers remaining after episode 5 will show at Bryant Park," or whether he said, "All designers remaining after episode 5 will show at Fashion Week." The Haiti charitable event Maya is showing at is part of Fashion Week -- Boston's Fashion Week. So Tim could have been being his sly self! It makes more and more sense that she was donated. She would have already had a collection nearly ready to go. It's not like a charitable event for Haiti can have been in the works for very long.

Maya was my favorite designer, her fashism collection was truly inspiring and she as a person is truly inspiring as well. Hope to see her collection for the haiti benefit and I'm glad that maya is doing something good to benefit those in need instead of just selling clothes.

VERY strange. Did she just walk out at some point? But then she wouldn't be there.

VeryNot said There would have to be some powerful crack smoking going on to auf Maya before Janeane.

Not really. We've all seen talented designers totally f**k up a challenge and get auf'ed, despite their previous work. If Janeane creates a "safe" garment, and Maya messes up, there you go. No crack needed.

Sewing Siren: "Every season designers with seemingly more talent and skill get eliminated before some that seem less talented.
So I would not be shocked if Maya were eliminated next."

Oh yeah, no doubt. It's not unprecedented, certainly. I'd just be really surprised if Maya went before Janeane. I guess it's not much to hang a theory on, given a history of cracktacular judging, but still, I can't fathom it.

Again, I go back to Tim's video blog. He was giving commentary about the red dress challenge, and then mentioned the next challenge would determine who would show at FW. So he must have meant the Marie Claire challenge, not the little girl challenge. He could have misspoken of course (and it's just as likely that I've misremembered what he said. I'm at work right now and can't watch the video to see what he actually said. Boo.).

Can't wait till we find out the reason.

Lilithcat: "Not really. We've all seen talented designers totally f**k up a challenge and get auf'ed, despite their previous work. If Janeane creates a "safe" garment, and Maya messes up, there you go. No crack needed."

OK, y'all win, hehe.

Your scenario works, and it's absolutely possible Maya could be auf'd before Janeane that way.

And honestly, while I think Maya is stronger than Janeane, I've never considered her strong enough to reach the finals, so it won't be a huge deal if she's auf'd next episode. It's just that Janeane is so weak, my brain doesn't want to imagine her around much longer.

I wonder if Lifetime even realizes that people are confused as to the state of Maya? I mean she is somewhat a Woman In Peril at this point.

Speaking of "in peril", Princess Puffy Sleeves is on a vid clip from BBC tv, about the fashion industry downturn - it's here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8514101.stm

I don't understand why, knowing the date of the Bryant Park show, PR and Lifetime (and Bravo in its day) don't just count backwards and start the show show that there are only three contestants left the week before.

Then, if they wanted to beef up the showings, they could offer a select group of designers to show as well, maybe even alumni.

But the timing issue has been one that astounds me; it could have been easily remedied since season one (with the exception of last season because of lawsuit issues).

ooops, I mean 'start the show SO that there are only three contestants . . .'

I don't understand why, knowing the date of the Bryant Park show, PR and Lifetime (and Bravo in its day) don't just count backwards and start the show show that there are only three contestants left the week before.

This year it wasn't really possible. S6 had to be held until it wouldn't compete with The Fashion Show, and then S7 had to be held until S6 was over. No other way to do it other than wait for the next Fashion Week.

Agreed about previous seasons, though.

Maya is a breathtakingly beautiful woman but she is not a particularly talented designer. I can easily see her getting aufed next episode.

Sewing Siren said...

I think if she is donating a collection to Haiti it is her own. Nothing to do with Project Runway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yup. Cause if there were any PR connection, the INCREDIBLE LIFETIME SUPPORT OF THIS WORTHY CAUSE would be getting trumpeted all over. There'd have been some sort of announcement from the runway at BP
As Maya picked Megan for next week's challenge - and Megan isn't in any of the Bryant Park shows -it seems fairly certain that Maya will be eliminated in the kid's challenge and then Megan will be sent packing.
So that explains the mystery of why Maya doesn't have a show at Bryant Park.
How about she gets sick, so she has to withdraw, like Jack did.
Kzspot
This suspense is so great.........I Hope it will last
"I think the decoys get the same amount as finalists. (or at least they did Seasons 1-5)."
I don't know about the second through fifth seasons but I know for SURE in season one Austin did not get the same amount of time and money as the finalists did. It was a last minute thing- I would not be surprised if the decoys got less funding after that as well.
"Not Very said: There would have to be some powerful crack smoking going on to auf Maya before Janeane."
I have just three words: Santino Turkey Costume.
Then, if they wanted to beef up the showings, they could offer a select group of designers to show as well, maybe even alumni. >>>
I love the idea of allowing any PR alumni getting to show in the PR show, even a dress or two. It would expand the show and could do away with having ten decoys to fill the time.
@B "I would not be surprised if the decoys got less funding after that as well."
Incorrect. Kara Janx confirmed that she got the same amount of money as her fellow finalists, so it's safe to say that the same applies to all other decoys.
I am definitely going with Lifetime's inability to count or read a calendar. I agree with those who think the kid challenge is Maya's last, and she was not asked to create a collection. Lifetime simply failed to properly coordinate its airdates with Fashion Week, so we saw one more designer available to show than we should have.
My guess is that it is a Sweet P situation where she was notified that she had to do a collection later than the other designers, and perhaps as FW approached she was able to negotiate showing in Boston for Haiti which would buy her enough time to put together a proper collection.
The "Maya was eliminated in the kiddie challenge" doesn't really work if you consider that in Tim's recently done video-blog he says all who survived the last challenge (MarieClaire/Heidi cover) would show.
Unless... Tim was lying to not give away result of next episode.
Also Tim has admitted in the past that he is not always in on all the production decisions. Remember his confusion over whether or not Jay had immunity in Episode 3? In the excitement over having so many collections to oversee at Bryant Park, he may just not be thinking about the fact that the episode where Maya was auffed hasn't aired yet.
"I think you guys give to much ado to the exposure these designers get in NY Fashion week. It doesn't look to me like industry names (beyond Marie Claire people) go to see their show. It's more like a reality-TV event, not likely to get them contracts in the area. So if you're a decoy and have something else to do, that may be enough reason not to go. It's not such a big deal. Are you kidding? I think Project Runway shows are at the same time that ?Ralph Lauren? historically showed his line. (Or some such other very famous designer) After season One they changed to a different time because all of the press was going to the Project Runway show along with the 'right kind' of celebrities. It is by far the best shot that an unknown designer has at being noticed.
Did anyone see the "Meet Maya" promo that ran recently on Lifetime? I've never seen a PR promo centered on one designer before. Are they doing these for all the designers and I just happened to catch the one for Maya? What the heck?
I'm not sure if this would be the reason, but...
I went to school with Maya. She graduated last spring. Before any of us knew she was on PR, we knew that she was going to London to work with a designer whose name is escaping me at the moment.
She filmed PR directly after graduating, so I'm guessing that as soon as that was done, she was off to London. This would definitely prevent her from doing a collection.
Oh, and I should add that the chances of Maya just not wanting to show are almost zero. While in school, she would go to any event/submit her work for any show, no matter how small.
Well I personally know Maya and hung out with her the day that she filmed the after show, and she completely REFUSED to tell me ANYTHING!!! hate it.... we will see sooon enough...
I'm quite confused. Maya wasn't eliminated. I hope that maya gets to show her collection. She's the only designer I was really hoping to see a collection from. The way she is, is so mysterious and so LA NOir. I love it.
maya is aweeessooomeee!
maya is from another planet and they came back to get her for debriefing and this prevented her from doing a collection. She returned after this time travel and most of us never missed what seemed like a brief absence.
Not sure what planet perhaps her mother knows...
Jean from Mass
I often use closed caption on my tv and at the end of the show during the previews, even though it wasn't said after Tim says what he says the caption reads "maya makes an announcement" or something close to that. Soo I'm assuming she's not voted off.
