T LOunge

WOOHOO!!!!!

Aquadulza Wine Bar & Restaurant in Maccagno, Varese, Italy

Darlings, we are IMMENSELY PLEASED to announce the grand re-opening of T LOunge. For the rest of today and well into tomorrow morning, we will be drinking, snogging, and hob-nobbing with the beautiful people at Aquadulza Wine Bar. Pack your passport!

We're so excited to watch the premiere episode of Season 7 of Project Runway with you tonight because after the tedium of Season 6, we think you'll find this episode to be a breath of fresh air (and hopefully, an indicator of things to come).

We're also excited about the return of the T Lo Awards on the Lifetime site because we've added four new categories. This way, we can cycle through them and only pick the categories that apply to that particular episode. Sometimes it was difficult to hand out a debating team award every week if no one really deserved it. This way, we can pick and choose from a menu of awards. What are the new categories, you ask? The Swimsuit Competition, The Nina, The Gunn Safety Award, and The Talent Competition. You'll just have to wait until the awards to see the descriptions of each - and Alex's brilliant and hysterically funny illustrations for them.

And if you haven't done so, we suggest you follow our Twitter and Facebook because all the little tidbits of info that don't make it to the blog wind up there. You not only get the full T Lo experience, you also get the total Project Runway scoop.

Now. Who's your favorite of the designers so far? And who's in and who's auf tonight?

Y'all want this party started, right? Y'all want this party started ... quickly! Right? Here we go!

So, I just noticed this on the Lifetime fantasy team game scoring page:
"9 Points Designer is brought back from a prior elimination"

HMMMmmmm

I was not expecting Emilio to win. Great job!

Good episode with some let downs... maybe the expectations had been too high?

In any event, if Kors and NIna are there all the time it's going to be better than last time. The cast is very good entertainment wise, lots of seemingly interesting characters. I wouldn't know whom I'd like to see go last time... Anthony is fun, Jesus is sweet, Ping is ... just as Nina said, endearing... Design-wise? For a free challenge that involved presenting who they're as designers, I found the results to be rather underwhelming... No wonder Ping stood out.
I just hope this is not going to be another string of vaguely formulated 12 h challenges.

Agreed with the auf (horrid dress) and the in (very pretty). Cannot see what was special about Seth's though. He strikes me as someone lacking talent and vision to match his ambition, and over-referential. Oh well.

What is about Models of the Runway? what's the point of that show? all designers picked the same model and act like the girls were their long time best friends after having met them 5 minutes... Ping is stuck with a really bad model too. Doesn't make any sense to me.

- Dan

Seth's chainmail codpiece intrigued and disturbed me.

What is wrong with me?

I mean, c'mon people, it's a chastity belt for a penis!!

Stop me now, please.

I'm not sure how much of this is my intense dislike of Seth Aaron's persona leaking in, but I couldn't stand his dress. Tacky, tacky, tacky, and this is coming from a teenager.

Good episode! BUT...I was not happy to see that BM continues to save money by having 12-hour challenges. Geez, even "Launch My Line" gives the designers more time. Maybe next season...

Seth reminds me of Jeffrey. Makes me uncomfortable. I can't help loving Anthony--guilty pleasure. Love Ping's clothes. Agreed with all of the judging decisions--can't remember the last time that happened! And it was so comforting to hear real fashion critiques from Nina and Michael. The less said about Nicole Richie the better.

Ugh, I am so late. How about a shot of Grappa for a nightcap?

Let's see—like Ping, even though she just draped. I think she has potential if she can be flexible. Liked Seth—the judges always love the zipper treatment.

Did not like Christiane's design although I think her portfolio was very good. She seemed very nice and talented, but totally got the loser edit. I didn't get an African vibe at all. More like a Dress Barn vibe.

Oh, we had so much fun! That is, until our cable company decided to run commercials over the first 30 seconds of each segment. They tuned back in just as Emilio was leaving the runway, and we didn't hear anything about the sketching tablets. We were SO MAD.

Anyway, great episode! Can't wait for what's to come, and of course for TLo's take!

I will not be able to deal with Janeane for long. The first time she opened her mouth my wife and I looked at each other and went, "Ah. The crier." The fact tha she initially chose a little black dress for her "wow the judges" first look does not bode well for her anyway.

Jessie's hair and outfit at the Runway show looked like Lisle's Nazi youth boyfriend in the Sound of mMsic. Scary!

After a second viewing, I liked Pamela's a lot and I think comparing their work on this episode with their portfolio, her and Seth gave us "what they [seem to] do" the best. Then again, Emilio was a big ??? for me so I'm not sure.
I know they can only have three in the top and bottom, but I think Ben would have been called on his Balenciaga/maybe a drop of McQueen Spring 2010-inspired dress.
Also it's good that Jay's dress was made well, because his design was atrocious. The fleurchons were the least of his worries - short, tight, tiny, fleurchons, weird colors...yikes. At least he's in the running for the Heidi. Jesus' and Christiane's may not have been so bad after all.
And man, Janeane's was just sad. It reminded me of when the judges were all on Robert Best for his sad/boring designs.

Uh oh, two Michaels!

Anna needs to learn how to sew a real hem. Stitched hems won't make it for every garment.

I can't believe Amy wasn't called out for her boob fungus dress. What was with the right boob on that thing, anyway? It looked like the poor model had a giant growth there. Weird, and really ugly.

Emilio's work was gorgeous, though! I'm so glad he got the win -- I thought Seth Aaron's looked exactly like something Jeffrey would have done. Not an ounce of originality, even if it might be cute.

MyLifetime should seriously consider hiring a new web designer and building a new website. It's not easy to navigate. And way toooooo many "Page Not Found"

Salu Digby of LSH

"Fat people at a buffet." ???????

Ahhh.....the last acceptable prejudice is still alive and well on PR.

Gonna pass on this year, just can't take another Screaming Queen. (Or is that not acceptable to say?)

What!? No way! How so? A twill skirt and jacket and a red top looks reminds you of nazis? Yikes.

Which reminds me, I'm waiting for the outrage over Emilio's fat people comment. One person has commented on it. Which, unlike Jesse's, was actually disparaging.

I find it kind of hilarious that Jesse featured running for fabric practice on his audition vid and then they actually had to do that. I

Why oh WHY must we have a "guest judge" each week? Nicole Ritchie made some reasonable comments, but nothing as useful or edifying as Nina and Michael. Also, who are all these TV personalities who decide to launch their own lines"?? Who in HELL wants someone like Nicole Ritchie to design clothes, when you can have something by Michael Kors? Why not have another FASHION DESIGNER be a guest judge?

Emilio! Love him & his detailed work.

Ping....is going to be interesting.
I can't wait to see what she does with form-fitting outfits.

Anthony- shhhhhhhh!

First impression on this season- so far, so good!

Only seen pix (guessed who'd be in & out from that... so proud) so far. Plus read TBone/susq's BPR live-blog & Toyouke & Lifetime blogs and ...

Ruh Roh. ... Tim doesn't like Ping, does he? (pretty obvious even on the audition tape) He doesn't like my favorite! (He never likes the weirdos)

When did he write his Lifetime blog? Does it mean Ping doesn't last long?

Even so, I wish he'd do the Tim's Take audio-blog like he did years ago (season 2? 3?). Where he'd record right after each episode-taping wrapped & months before seeing the final edit.

That was raw.

It's gonna be a good season, isn't it?

Take your vitamins, TLo!!!

You were so right! What a breath of fresh air this episode was! I'm completely sucked in. I felt sorry for Christiane, she seemed ike such a nice girl, but that dress was just terrible. It wasn't the only one though.
When Jonathan (I think it was him) said Ping should be in the bottom three, I knew she would be top three. I'm sure her design isn't everybody's cup of tea, but I really liked it. Go Ping! (You'll probably be gone sooner than I want you to.)

Can't wait for your critiques!

i just finished the episode!
(hong kong haha)
and i think that christiane (was that her name?) shouldnt have gone. well maybe for that dress, but after looking at herportfolio, i was really looking forward to seeing what she could bring to the table. oh well
i did think that pink number was pretty eugh
hahah and i LOVE anthony.
and ping is well shes definitley not a surprise for me, i see people like that all the time, here at home.

C'mon - is anyone happy that Bitchy Heidi is back from S6?
-----
No. Is this the tone we have to look forward to all season?

"leave the runway before I change my mind" ....
what a bitch!

Please. Heidi was not a bitch at all. That was a funny comment and very apt considering the song and dance that Anthony was giving.

The preview: Where they actually wading through mud on a farm? Will the challenge have something to do with barn animals?

Sorry, I was deeply unimpressed with the outcome. I haven't yet watched the episode, but I visited LifeTime website and found that those outfits were not up to my expectation.

Maybe I was expecting too much?? Because last season was such a horror...

Plus I don't understand why Ping's was judge's one of favorite. It was such a mess(it truly carried her point of view, though)

Yay! Although I can't say I agreed with the top and bottom three 100%, I did agree with the win/loss. I'm also just thankful that Christiane is gone early because I hated her portfolio. Sad but true.

My choices would have been as follows, top 3: Emilio, Jonathan & Ben - runners up, Pam and Ping. Bottom 3: Amy, Jesse and Christiane - runners up, Anthony and Jesus.

This ep went by too fast, more please!

Thank god the show is back to normal! People with skills, judges who know what they are talking about, and That Richie girl's cvontributions were better than any of last season judges' (except for Michael and Nina ... wait! Were they there last season?).

MORE!

I cannot believe LeNoir's piece of garbage was not auf'd!!!

Yay, PR is back!! but IT MUST LOSE THE 12-HOUR CHALLENGES!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely HATED Seth Aaron's dress. It looked like something destined for the Wet Seal factory store, if there is such a thing.

Ping's was my favorite. I thought Tim's comment on his blog about how designing on her own body meant that told her how it would look on her, but no one else, made no sense whatsoever. So designing on a standardized form and putting your clothes on a 6-ft model is supposed to show how clothes look on people? No. It shows how they look on models, and only models. I'm not complaining about that, per se, but calling that ONE perspective--and it is A perspective--objective is just nonsense.

I enjoyed the clothes tonight. The designers were injured by the 12-hour challenge, no doubt about it. They should have had two days. Still, I think we have a far more interesting and talented bunch than last season.

Headline: Jack Sparrow designs for PR!!!
I totally enjoyed watching the return to NYC. Did not agree, as usual, with the judges, except for the winning design which I really loved.
OK..maybe I'm just not appreciative of so-called forward, conceptual fashion, but I could have done what Ping did with my eyes closed and one hand tied behind my back.

Jesse Lenoir is far from my favorite but someone needs to defend his look given this comment, the ridiculous one I saw comparing it to Nazi garb (come on), and some others.
Considering it was far from the worst it shouldn't be that unbelievable why he was safe. Definitely not a top contender, but a solid safe entry. Let's compare to the others. It was made better than Christiane and Anthony. I would say the taste level was higher than Anthony, Jesus, Jay or Amy. It was an overall better and more interesting garment than Anthony, Jesus, Amy or Janeane. And it has more relevance than a lot of the other designs.

You are entitled to your opinion. And I love this blog and Tom and Lorenzo, they are entitled to theirs as their fabulous opinion is what makes this all possible but I could see it coming the minute when they said his video was homophobic and making fun of Chris March and from the responses on that post that people weren't gonna think for themselves and not like this guy for no reason.

I don't blame Tlo and I obviously can't know for sure if their comments influenced your decision or not, but I think if you really look at the garments with an objective, critical, and discerning eye, you would see his dress is in no way the worst look by any means.

The way some people talk about this guy, you'd think he was the devil pooping on his models and throwing them down the runway.
/end rant

The way some people talk about this guy, you'd think he was the devil pooping on his models and throwing them down the runway.

And the way some people defend him, you'd think he was the only person ever criticized in the history of this blog.

I disagree about the 12 hour challenges. With 16 designers, it is a sure way to quickly eliminate those without talent, skills and time management issues. Once we are left with the best designers of the group, it will be interesting to see what they can do with more time. Frankly, I agree with the elimination. No need to see what she would do with 24 hours based on what she could not do in 12.

I loved Ping's design. Very organic and very intellectual. I hope she can continue with it without becoming boring and repetitive. Loved the winning design.

Overall no one was freaking out at the sight of a pair of scissors and a sewing machine, so already the level of talent is higher than the previous season or two.

To Emily:
I have no animosity toward Lenoir, and I didn't see him making fun of Chris March or make any homophobic remarks. My comment was simply my gut reaction to his outfit when I saw it come down the runway. I did not have that reaction to any others (even though some others were definitely not perfect or even good). Why take this so personally?

Could someone take a handy pair of scissors and give either Maya or Mila a distinct hairdo? It's my only hope! (And their names are 50% spelled the same!)

"I loved Ping's design. Very organic and very intellectual."

Here we go again - the freak show is the "intellectual". What nonsense.

Emily, my comment on Jesse had to do with what HE was wearing to the runway show, brown shirt, tie and slicked hair. It reminded me of the boyfriend who betrays the Von Yrapp family in the Sound of Music. The garment he sent down the runway was fine to me, just not as well tailored as he said it was in the sound bite.

I rather like Jesse's aestetic. I'm a WWII history nerd and his stuff is very WWII inspired. I really don't get why people are being so hateful toward him. Is there some discrimination going on because he is a straight male? I'm not saying that his look for the challenge was fantastic and neither is his portfolio, but there were other designers that did far worse and others with hardly any portfolio at all. I think that people decided to take offense at some pretty innocent jokes in his audition vid and decided to be assholes without much reason.

People just don't read other's posts very carefully and then get all bent out of shape over nothing. Talking to you, Emily.

For Tim fans, on Facebook, Tim is doing a "morning after" video blog on his fan page and it's fab, so go check it out. I love me some Gunn!

Seth, Ben & Jonathan are the ones to watch IMO
