We're so excited to watch the premiere episode of Season 7 of Project Runway with you tonight because after the tedium of Season 6, we think you'll find this episode to be a breath of fresh air (and hopefully, an indicator of things to come).
We're also excited about the return of the T Lo Awards on the Lifetime site because we've added four new categories. This way, we can cycle through them and only pick the categories that apply to that particular episode. Sometimes it was difficult to hand out a debating team award every week if no one really deserved it. This way, we can pick and choose from a menu of awards. What are the new categories, you ask? The Swimsuit Competition, The Nina, The Gunn Safety Award, and The Talent Competition. You'll just have to wait until the awards to see the descriptions of each - and Alex's brilliant and hysterically funny illustrations for them.
And if you haven't done so, we suggest you follow our Twitter and Facebook because all the little tidbits of info that don't make it to the blog wind up there. You not only get the full T Lo experience, you also get the total Project Runway scoop.

The episode was good, and somewhat surprising. I fully expected to hate Ping's outfit, because it's not even close to being my style. The colors, movement, and (seemingly) careful balance worked wonderfully, and I have to grudgingly admit that I adored it.
I hope that she can adapt and mold her style to fit the future challenges.

I liked Seth's a lot and I liked Emilio's, but I have to say I was rooting for Seth. I gravitated to his style more and I would much rather watch Seth as a "character" than Emilio.
I LOVE Ping because she's clearly thinking about her clothes from many view points. She's a physical therapist and has mentioned dance inspirations, and I totally see it. I'm interested to see more form her.
I just want to mention too, I was pleasantly surprised with Jesse's outfit.
Janeane has earned her spot as my least favorite.
Good episode! I see everything TLo mentioned about the feel of the show, I liked the HP sketchpads, and yeah, I was a bit thrown off by the winner and loser announcement.
I can't wait to watch it again. :)

My one real concern about this episode: the challenge was "make a pretty dress."
This is exactly where S6 went off the rails. Worse, Bunim/Murray had plenty of opportunities to appraise what was lacking in their challenges, and they still did it.
They got away with it this week; I think an open-ended challenge is all right to kick off the season. But I really wanted to see something eye-popping to get off on the right foot.

I can't believe that Mila got into the safe crowd right off. Her outfit was the clear winner for me. The lines were amazing, the fit was impeccable, and styling, sewing, thoughtfulness et al were great.
I think it's clear they picked conversational winner/losers.
