Jason Wu Sunglasses

Shady ladies.

Jason Wu Spring 2010 Collection

We just got finished writing our [plug] accessories post for Flypaper, the Bluefly blog[/plug] when what popped into our inbox, but a press release from Shelley O's favorite designer, Jason Wu, chatting up his new sunglasses line.

“Launching an eyewear collection felt like a natural progression for the Jason Wu brand,” explained designer Jason Wu. “The pieces combine sleek, modern finishes, which I love, with unusual materials and details. I wanted to put my stamp on an item which would be accessible to a broader market and with an inherently chic connotation—sunglasses.”

Jett
Earhart
Seberg

Gorge.

The reason this is notable is because the designers did NOT use the accessories wall thoughtfully last night, although a couple of them did utilize sunglasses to finish off their look. So, kittens, enjoy these gorgeous sunglasses and go check out our accessories post on Flypaper, here.

Love 'em.

(And since husband just broke my favorite pair of 10 year old five dollar white ovals...)

Jason must have a good chunk of money behind him now. Good for him!

Purty! Tho, I don't know if I could part with my burberrys. For all that the cat eye shape is no longer "in", they were my mom's, and they help me remember her. :)

PS - The Seberg is calling my name.

But, damn, I've got a scrawny little face with a tiny little nose and it's not easy to find sunglasses that don't overwhelm (in a bad way) or slide down.

Do I have to go to kidswear?

I'm a sucker for sunglasses, and I LOVE these! Wish I had 'em all!

Desertwind, I feel your pain. I like large sunglasses, but my sad reality is that most of them make me look like an insect from another planet.

Sorry, they remind me way too much of the plastic horrors I had to wear as a child. Not a fan.

I like these.

But the sunglasses I have always wanted are the ones that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I've never been able to find them.

DITTO - Between my kids, my own clumsy self, and too many expensive pairs just not looking right on me, I hang my head in shame and buy 5 pairs at a time at the dollar store - wish I could wear the Seberg pair.

bouleversement

@GothamTomato

I'm pretty sure those are Rayban Wayfarers. I found a pair that were pretty similar for only 5 euros in Paris, except mine are mirrored. Makes it easier to people watch covertly!

I would put the Mias all over my face

Re: smaller scale sunglasses - if you're willing to pay for them, you might go to an optometrist, as they usually have a wider range of sizes and shapes than the drugstore or department store. Pick frames that you like and have them put the colored lenses in them.

(I have a strong prescription so off-the-rack sunglasses simply aren't an option.)

GT, the Breakfast at Tiffany's sunglasses were Ray-Bans, the Wayfarer RB4105.

I love the MIA style! (Is that "Mia", or M.I.A.?)

I thought that's what they might be but they look so much bigger on Audrey Hepburn, I was wondering if they were it. I guess she must have had a tiny head.

I think they're "Mia" as in Mia Farrow. The others all refer to style icons, so I guess that's who he means. They have a late 60s look, circa Rosemary's Baby...

Plus they are my faves of the 4! I want to use them thoughtfully :)

They're all fab but I love the Jetts.

"I guess she must have had a tiny head."

Haha! I don't know why but that cracked me up. I love Audrey, though.

Too much Tootsie.

None of those appear to have the right tint to the lens or to be dark enough for me. Do you know if they are UV protected? I live in the desert, I like my shades to be stylish, but I'll choose my eyes over fashion any day.

BTW Sharon T, I wish the cat eye glasses were still in so I could find some. I love that style.

Simple and beautiful.i love it!

As a huge sunglasses freak, I love them all. Great colors for frames and lenses. They're all classic shapes.

Gotham Tomato,

I don't think that Ray Ban model is THE ONE either, as I too, have been searching long and hard for this, with no outright success yet. I've come close, with a pair of $10 glasses from the drugstore!

There's something about that pair that eludes me.
here's a good pic:

Methinks Persol, not Ray-ban, is where I'll eventually find my treasure...if anyone knows where to find, please let us know.

Another sunglass freak here...

Where can we buy these??!! I followed the link, but they only show the Sebergs (great color options), and I didn't see buying options.

Are they not available yet? 'Cause I think I need some.

He's just trading on his Michelle Obama cred now, and trying to get as rich as he can as fast as he can. Can all you lovers of these tell me why and how these are different from the 100 other designer lines already on the market?

They aren't.

But starting at $275 each you can pretend you are the First Lady too and sleeping with the President.

Nobody said they were.

To quote the great philosopher, Mazeppa, 'You gotta have a gimmick if you wanna get ahead'.

And I agree: If you have the opportunity to bump your trumpet, you'd be crazy not too.

Gorge!

I may have to dip into the rent money for the Mia. Must have.

I really like the Jett sunglasses. I would wear them everywhere I go. Banana Republic has something similar.
