What a fabulously retro little bar! It looks like a villain hideout from the '60s Batman show. Darlings, the bar is once again open. Line up for your cocktails. But first, a big congratulations to NANCY who is the lucky winner of last week's T Lounge contest and gets a Schott Brothers leather jacket courtesy of Joe Faris. Nancy was one of 159 people who got the correct answer and it was her name that got picked out of our little velvet bag.

Unfortunately, that was the last of our prizes for this season, so instead of posting contest entries, it looks like we're all going to have to talk to each other. Tell us about yourselves, kittens. We have a large and thriving community here but all we ever do is talk about other people. Now's the time to learn a little bit about each other. Who are you, where are you, what do you do, what are you doing right now, what are you eating right now, anything at all. Here's your soapbox, climb on.

Oh, and another thing: What's your PR viewing ritual? Ours is a pizza, a bottle of wine, a notepad and a laptop (to monitor T Lounge of course). Any guests are expected to shut it until commercial breaks and any time one of them cracks a good joke, they're informed "We're using that for the blog." It's the one time our cats don't bother us because it's the one time they know they're not going to get any attention from us. They tend to leave the room and sulk somewhere in the house. Or fight each other.

And just to bring it back to PR, a shoutout and congratulations to the designers who have made it this far:
Are there any shocks here for any of you? Way back when, when we were doing the Meet The Designers post before the season started, would you have guessed that these would be the ones to make it to the end? We confess, we wouldn't have guessed that Carol Hannah and Gordana were going to make it this far. Then again, we thought Malvin was one of the finalists. Shows how much we know.

And to whet your appetites once again, here's the episode 12 preview:

I watch the show early in the morning before my kids get up. Do I know how to live or what?

stay fabulous!

Malvin as a finalist? That's a slightly terrifying thought, I must say.

My routine is similar to GrowFarmingtons - wake up early to watch on Friday morning, so that I know what happened before I come into work and check your blog and EW. :)

Although I like your routine better...

What a "Lifetime" preview! So emotional!!

My viewing tradition: knitting, sipping tea, and not caring if my husband is there or not. ;-)

I'm home sick with what I hope isn't H1N1. So no cocktails for me, unless they contain Tamiflu!

Christopher's crying AGAIN? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you! Jeez, he'd better go home this time.

I have a very simple PR routine - a glass of wine or tea, and sometimes a handful of chocolate chips.

I Tivo and watch it after the kiddies are asleep. Always with a nice glass (or 2 or 3) of wine, of course.

The best part of the ritual, of course, it hitting the refresh on your blog the next day, anxiously awaiting your Winner and Auf posts. :)

My viewing tradition is usually me rushing home on Friday afternoons between classes to watch online because I work Thursday nights:-(!

But not tonight!!!

In terms of expectations? I agree, I thought Malvin would be a finalist. I always thought Ramon had a golden boy, Rami-esqueness to him that made me think he would have gone a lot further. I counted Irina out pretty early because all she did was "pretty, bland dress". Little did I know that was season 6's winning formula. I thought/hoped Shirin was going to win:-(

P.S. HOW CUTE DOES CAROL HANNAH LOOK IN THAT PICTURE?

Where am I right now? Boston, MA.

The PR ritual, however, takes place in Salem, MA (a great location for rituals in general). There is almost always wine, some form of chocolate, and my iPhone to post a running commentary on Twitter. :)

And then there's ritual exhaustion on Friday morning when I have to drag my silly self to work.

My BF and I are starving artists, so we flag down one of our cable-affording friends on Thursdays and bring a six-pack of PBR.

I KNEW it would be an all-girl finale!

I don't have a television so I have several friends through whose homes I rotate. All of them have TIVO and I always have to insist that they not accidentally jump portions of the program when speeding through commercials. I usually find myself crying out "I love this show!" once an episode. We always watch the runway portion twice. We stop and vote (in, out) before the end. And I always make sure the TIVO has a 5 min. handle so we catch the "Next Week on PR" promo.

We used to watch Models OTR because they basically excised a portion of the main show and gave it its own show (the model selection). But after a while we gave up. Too boring. Drat.

After the show I lie in bed and wonder what TLO will say in the morning.

In closing, Christopher has got to go tonight. He's starting to remind me of Suede - or Stuart Smalley - with his "self-affirmation" talks.

I can't believe season 6 is almost over!

The bar is indeed fab! I think I need a fruity, girly drink to go with it (with a paper umbrella).

I am cable-less, so I snoop on T-Lounge on Thursday nights, then watch on-line sometime on Saturday after the show posts on the Lifetime website.

The bar is fabulous! My husband's grandmother had a whole "Florida" room of furniture just like those chairs... not turquoise blue though!!

I watch with my youngest daughter, a 17 year old senior in high school, although I have to admit she sometimes falls asleep before the show is over. Best testimony to how BORING this season is! That never would have happened before!

I'll spring for the champagne if someone wants to join me! If not, I can polish off the bottle by myself... not that I have ever done that before!

Dr. Whitfield looks like she got a grease stain in the middle of her boobies.

Snackin' on some of that good ol' southern fried chicken?

A friend and I always go out to dinner Thursday nights (generally a restaurant in the neighborhood that's new to us.) Then we go to a coffee or tea shop and write. Afterward, I go home and watch Project Runway and the model show live, while chatting with friends on IM. In the morning I watch all of the Tim Gunn extended workroom videos, and on Sunday, I read all the recaps. I also read your recaps as soon as they come up!

I watch the show mostly with my girlfriends or alone with my dog : )

edinamonsoon

My PR ritual is fairly simple --- clear away the dinner dishes, make certain my workwear for the next day is ready and no phone calls, texts or visitors allowed.

Oh, and a big fat cupcake and glass of milk from my local dessert boutique.

As for beginning of the season reminiscences --- I really thought that Louise and Epperson would still be around. And to my own credit --- I had my eye on Dr. Whitfield & Gordana since episode one!

- edina -

I always DVR the show and watch Friday night, often with my hubby. He is not a PR fan but I really like having someone to talk to about the show so he humours me!

I watch upstairs in our bedroom while my husband is downstairs making tomorrow's lunch for himself and our son.

He then comes up for bed around 11 pm and grouses that I'm watching "that crappy model show" and "I thought this fashion show was only an hour"....blah blah blah.

I'm ignoring him and yelling at the TV no matter what....and scrolling thru the TLounge comments on my iPhone at the same time.

In the meantime - congrats to Nancy. I am very jealous - I finally nail the top/bottom but to no avail.

Barkeep - please bring me several bottles of Pino Grigio and glasses for me and all my friends.

Cheers!

Is Irina wearing her winning Inc. outfit, the one with the butterfly on the hip, in that picture? And CH does look cute! Looks like someone took away her black eyeliner!

This is so cool, guys! nice to know more about everyone here. I watch it with my partner and sometimes with a few friends. We usually have some snacks and wine or beer.

Except for the going out to dinner, my roommie and I do the same as Leah

IN all honesty I am suprised Irina is the front runner. This was based on her audition. But then again I didn't think Althea was naything special either in hers. Christopher I thought might have made it this far based on auditons. Now I am shocked he made it. Of course some contestants get lucky

Frank

Shoot, I wait until the show runs for 20 minutes then start the DVR up. Skipping commercials, I catch up with it before 11. But I exercise unless I just don't feel like it, then I veg on the couch and knit.

And doesn't Christopher look so WORRIED in those 5 red carpet pics TLo posted here? Yikers!

Well as I have class all day (I'm in it right now) I don't have much of a ritual...I enter the lovely TLounge and try to win fabulous prizes (but sadly don't). I usually read the Gratz predictions (as they are very accurate and in depth), cook dinner, make an Iced tea and try to force the roommates to watch with me (with limited success) and trash talk through the whole thing. You should never invite me over because I can't keep my mouth shut when the judges start passing the crack pipe. I also tend to do laundry during the show but forget about it depending on how much crack is being smoked. Boring I guess... :(

Heh, clearly nobody so far wants to talk about themselves!

My routine is to get all the ingredients for a big dinner and dessert. Lazy girl that I am, this means shopping at the local hot table and then picking up a pre-made dessert and several bottled drinks, plus a giant Starbucks bold coffee. I don't want to be distracted by the burden of having to do dishes that night and just want to nuke everything. The only thing I'll do from scratch is brew a pot of coffee dudring one of the longer breaks so that I can have another warmup and a tiny slice of dessert at every break.

Or, if I have the willpower of a two year-old that evening, dessert is an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's, eaten with a tiny, long-handled spoon to make it last.

Basically, I eat my way through the episode and it's a +2 pound night for me every time.

formerlyAnon

Ah, we are all so charmingly approachable and down-to-earth. (e.g. plebian.) I await hearing from the powerbroker who watches in the limo between office and heli-pad.

I live in central time zone, lucky me. If I'm really enthralled, I save dinner to eat ensconced on the couch, and family members must wait for commercials to speak (or at least, that's the plan.) The usual routine this season has been laundry-folding or other mindless chores, with close attention only at the beginning and end of the show.

I *am* hoping that Lifetime continues to stream the show later in the week, though, as finances may require cutting cable soon.

I still haven't finished watching last week's episode and at this point, I kind of don't care. Any other season, I was dying to know who was doing what, who won and lost, but now it's just meh.

Shirin was the person I thought would go all the way, and I never would have thought Dr. Whitfield or Althea would still be around (I like them plenty, it just seems like they do work that Nina/Michael would call out in past seasons).

I'm surprised that an "older" contestant has made it this far, since they always seem to get the (not always deserved) auf early. I'm even more surprised that it's someone who Heidi hates. Gordana's my one to win it at this point, but I really don't think that will happen and maybe that's why I don't care to watch much anymore.

I'm checking in from work. I generally have a poetry class on Thursday nights, get home very late, stay up too late watching PR and sometimes even the models thing with my husband, and barely make it out of bed for work on Friday.

Tonight my class is canceled. But I hit the Syrah during Top Chef last night, so I'm sticking with virtual cocktails tonight in that swanky-ass London bar (wish I were really in London instead of D.C.).

A dry martini, half a valium, and at least one person I can bitch to. Although that's really my ritual for everyday, not just watching PR.

I also watch around 6am on Friday before my son gets up. I'm usually still in my jammies and making my way through my first cup of tea.

This is not the way I would have guessed the season was going to go. I thought a lot of the Pretty Young Things were just filler and maybe only one of CH, Irina, Althea, Shirin would make it to the end. Pre-first episode, I was leaning towards Ra'mon and Gordana going far. After the first episode, I was still intrigued by Gordana and was keeping an eye on Epperson.

I kind of prefer the way my imaginary season six went versus the actual season six.

I watch the show late - starting at 11pm or midnight, and then fast forward through commercials (YAY for Tivo), and usually make a big bowl of popcorn just for me.

HAHA!
The Thursday routine varies but the friday morning routine is always the same.
I wake up walk down the stairs with a baby on my hip, my husband has allready made the coffe. I pour myself a cup, drop the baby off in the high chair, get a morning hug from my daughter (she's usually running around like a lunatic chicken it's 6:30 am so OF COURSE she is!) and walk down to the office/toy room (accompanied by the dog DESPERATE to be let out!!!) and my husband yells to me "Oh what did Tom and Lorenzo think of last night?". Then I make some sort of sexual joke that I think goes over my kids heads but is probably scaring them for life.

Who am I? Well, my name is obvious so I will try to briefly fill in the blanks. I am 36, married, stepmom of two girls, disabled, and I live in far northeastern Illinois for the last 11 yrs, originally from Florida's west central coast. I love art, reading, fashion, interior design, tv, music, dancing, movies, and all things pop culture. I live to laugh and make others laugh. That's about it. No, wait. I also wear WAY too much pink and black. Now you know all about me. lmao

I hardly even remember my initial impressions, but I don't really think I thought any of these designers could win. I don't know if it was because I had just finished watching the second season of PR Australia and such an avant gardedesigner won that maybe I was looking toward more unconventional designers as Epperson, Ari and Malvin. Wow. Hard to believe....

I absolutely adore the lounge and I think I'll have a Manhattan. I usually just watch it here in my living room while my husband sleeps on the couch. lol If I do miss it, I watch it the next morning online.

formerlyAnon

P.s. I have tried to watch with friends, but my friends tend to drift into conversation and neglect the show! Group viewing works best teen daughter's friends.

I too, am sans-cable, and so either "borrow" a friend's, or wait to watch online. I find it hard to avoid coming here and thus spoiling the surprise for myself. I'm a long-time reader, seldom commenter..

I did have a feeling that Dr. Whitfield would go far from the beginning..I think all these 1-day challenges have held her back to a more "reserved" version of her aesthetic..provided she makes it to Bryant Park (and I hope she does), I think she'll pull out a hot collection.

From the preview, I'd *like* to say that it is time for Christopher's (long-overdue) auf'ing, BUT, it seems possible (given his quote) that they might be tears of joy?

I usually watch at night with my eldest child, who is 12. Yes I'm a bad mommy who lets her stay up late. And I (gasp) drink a glass of moscato in front of her. She's way more knowledgeable about what looks good than I was at her age. Usually I will bitch about the show on Facebook with a couple of my girls the next day.

I was in denial about how poor this season is, but I finally confessed to my hubby that I don't love it. It makes me sad, and I hope season 7 makes up for it.

Jay McCarrol is my favorite designer to come off of the show, I love everything he does.

Past seasons, I was glued to the couch at 10 pm sharp, no fail. This season, I forgot it was on, TWICE. Not a good comment on this season. I jump up every break to do something to try to get ready for bed or the next day and then lunge for the couch when I hear it come back on. I live for the nights when I can lure my husband into watching with me. Sadly, this has little to do with my feminine wiles and more to do with him being too tired to get up and go elsewhere in the house :)But then he gets the jokes on PRG the next day, so I can get him to read the posts with me. He adored Tim Gunn Has Had Enough of Your Bullshit.

I watch on the good TV downstairs, since my husband knows that PR time is sacred. Our Rottweiler lays at my feet while I sip red wine. It's almost always done in pajamas, cuddled up in blankets - I'm in MN, and it's cold here.

I love you so much, TLo, and I frequently check your blog throughout the day for my dose of fabulousness, to remind me that it does exist outside of my labrat world of failed molecular biology experiments!

Cheers!

C'est moi, c'est moi Lola

Well, it's a good thing I don't watch with you TLo, because sometimes I'm just driven to yell out, 'Are you f*cking kidding me?' when I am horrified by either a designer's garment or behavior.

For the most part it's just me at home watching live because certain friends of mine don't believe in having cable, and others are too enraptured with NBC's line up to change the channel fast enough.

As for eats, I don't like to eat that late at night, lest I have dreams of Vincent putting a basket on my head and Tim Gunn giving me his 'eyebrow of death' over my choice of Easter candy while we walk down the supermarket aisle.

Usually it's just hot cocoa for me.

I was surprised that Nicholas didn't go to the end, but then again, after I saw his sea-foam surf/beachwear outfit, I pretty much gave up on him.

Pretty lounge tonight guys, even if the lighting reminds me of a wire whisk....

@CroqueMonseiur: Are you filled with cheesy, hammy deliciousness as your moniker implies? ;)

Some of these watching routines sound really good, I think I'll have to switch mine up! This is the first season I've been able to actually watch the show on TV (and on a decent TV) so I'm, uh, still settling into a routine? In seasons past, I stayed up late to catch the first video on YouTube or a similar sight. No longer have to worry about that!

Off to prepare some combination of cupcakes, wine, ice cream, and, uh, knitting. I think I've had the final three figured out for a few weeks now, I think my eye for fashion has gotten a whole lot better thanks a bit to PR but especially this blog. Thanks for that, TLo and fellow commenters. Happy Project Runway watching!

I'm a TiVo'er, too, and watch it in bed as I'm winding down for the night. If I'm giddy about something I've seen, I pull up TLo to see what you all are saying!

I was SURE Epperson would be a finalist. Ah well.

My viewing ritual is to force the hubby to watch it with me, pop some popcorn and have a drink - usually wine for me and beer for the hubby just because it's easy and I'm lazy.

The hubby pretends not to care, but then makes little comments all week like "Irina is such a bitch!" or "What did THE blog say about Logan going home instead of Gordana?"

From the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns of NC, I am in my PJs, with my thick socks, a glass of wine and chips or crackers at hand; my oldest dog on the floor at my feet, my newest dog curled beside me on the sofa, my 3rd dog laying on the guest bed (she's not a PR fan). I do not answer the phone, but will make a bathroom run during commercials. Love Gordana and Dr. Whitfield. Think Christopher should shave once he is auf'ed this evening.

Cool Idea! I started watching Project Runway the Wedding challenge Season One (although I didn't discover your blog until Season 4) I became addicted Season Two b/c Chloe Dao's store was right down the street from my apt. and I loved her store. I drink champagne and watch it alone or "phone watch" it with my twin sister. I have two toddlers so I really look forward to my Project Runway party for one and then reading your blog and the comments the next day. The laughs keep me sane. ;-)
Love to you all xo Ann

I AM SO SICK OF CHRISTOPHER CRYING! At least when Andre cried it was dramatic. Christopher is just pathetic! Self-taught poofie skirt BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

I don't have cable so Seasons 1 thru 3 was girl's nite at Tamara and Amanda's place with fish tacos and LOTS of pino grigio or vodka.

Then Tamara got married and me and the Hubs moved to Texas. Still no cable so I drug my Hubby to a local dive bar that shows it. During the epi, Tamara and I text and we all pick our favs for win and auf.

Then later over the weekend Hubs and I discuss TLO's insightful recaps and I watch the Models show off the interwebs.

i thought Epperson, Gordanna and Louse for the final

Wish I could say I have an exciting ritual, but I don't. 10:00 p.m. is past my (and the dogs') usual bedtime -- and I get really Pissed if the show's a snore and I've wasted all that prime sleep time because I know the dogs will get me up at 5:30.

My husband and I watched TV in separate rooms. He rolls his eyes at PR but is a fan of TLo. In the early evening I watch HGTV and maybe Countdown and Rachel Maddow while playing Bejeweled Blitz or Scrabble, and at 10:00 I sit in "my" chair with a big glass of water and maybe some chocolate, and I don't move for the hour unless the dogs beg to be let out.

PS. I'm 53, married for 27 yrs., 2 kids both in college, 2 rambunctious dogs, and my husband and I own a small consulting firm. I love gardening and cooking and entertaining.

Boring Northern California suburban schoolteacher/soccer mom with no fashion sense of her own...
Since season 1 I have been watching on my own with a cup of tea, and then read your posts to my hubby, who hates the show but loves you guys (what's not to love?).

Fun, indeed, to learn of everyone's viewing rituals, but as MouseAnony noted, not many revelations about selves.

Well, I'll reveal a bit, as well as my routine.

I'm a TLo fan from the very earliest days of their blog brilliance and have had the chance to meet Our GayBoys and to interact with them a wee, teeny bit on a business basis. I'm an intellectual property attorney who sometimes brings my IP sensibilities to what I'm seeing and hearing in the show. [Yes, yes, brand placement and trademark misuse have me talking back to the screen.]

I watch after racing home all too late from the office and sometimes am preparing and scarfing dinner as I watch the show, either in my den or in bed. And I do the dishes and brush my teeth during the commercials. The dearth of breaks in the beginning of the show is made up by the long ads later on, enabling face-washing, prepping for the next day and faffing around the place.

ALWAYS have our Fabulous & Opinionated fellows in my mind as I watch, and I'm ever eager to see their commentary, screen-caps and sly observations the day after.

Will we now also think of what all of us minions are doing as we more or less simultaneously watch the show?

All the best,

NDC

tripletmom96

i don't get to see it until many of you are tucked in for the night -- i'm in sunny southern calif, so it's nail biting time trying to stay out of the t-lounge once the show has started in the east....

i usually watch after my kids go to bed, then they come home from school the next day and watch. my hubby sometimes wanders in and watches with me, but usually he's upstairs doing something on the computer...

not too exciting, but i get some quiet "me" time out of it -- after a day of chauffering kids to soccer, tai kwan do, and keeping on them to get their homework done i'm shot and need some down time...it's a great way to wind down at the end of the day (particularly since this season has been such a snoozefest)....

the best part is reading tlo's blog the next day!

DuBois said...

...... The hubby pretends not to care, but then makes little comments all week like "Irina is such a bitch!" or "What did THE blog say about Logan going home instead of Gordana?"

lmao!! Sounds exactly like the hub's on the rare nights he's awake that late. He rolls his eyes and sighs like he's making this huge sacrifice for me and then questions me and makes surprisingly insightful comment's at times. You know the ones. The comments that prove conclusively that he actually get's into it because he knows some random crap from like the first episode?!? lol

I'm in Cali, SF, so I like to post a drink order to the TLounge, watch the show with roommates if they're around, watch MOTR (yes I still love it!), then browse all the TLounge posts to see if anyone else thought Irina was as bitchy as I did. This season is pretty damn boring, so I hope Lifetime realizes that this blog is keeping it alive for a substantial portion of it's viewership.

Hi! Southwest Florida reporting in.
My ritual is announcing to my hubby during dinner that the big screen TV is MINE from 10 to 11 PM (he should know that by now). Then I take a relaxing bubble bath while sipping either a peartini or coffee and kahlua.
In comfy PJ's, and with my cats by my side, cuddled up on the couch, I watch what used to be my favorite show. I really hope my ritual doesn't go go waste next season. I have enjoyed it so much for the first 5 seasons!!! Well, I still enjoy the ritual, not so the show this season. If not for this blog, I most likely would be using my ritual to watch something on Animal Planet or NatGeo from 10 to 11.

Where am I? Norfolk, Va All of the sandy shores, none of the Hollywood hills.

When I was in law school, my two girlfriends and I made a point to watch it together (this was in a dark age before I discovered you boys!). Their poor cats would get terrified every few minutes when we yelled at the TV or broke into laughter. *sigh* good times.

Now I DVR it b/c I get up way too early to stay up and watch it. So I watch it first thing when I get home on Friday. Then I watch the first five and the last five minutes of the models show (see their reaction to the boot off and who goes home). I am so bad though and inevitably come to your site and read your posts from the show even though I know they will spoil it for me!

I'm in Southern California. I'm a writer with 3 blogs. Right now I've finished some editing and I'm procrastinating the start of a painting project upstairs. Eating? I just had toast with guacamole for breakfast (late!). And I love America, George Clooney --sorry, I thought I was on Miss America...

My PR Ritual,
A hawt guy, warm Frangelico, and fluffy slippers...

I do have cable but I also have a strict bedtime of 10 pm on weeknights*, so I usually watch episodes well after the fact.

This season, I gave up watching. Your recaps are way better. (I am so addicted to your site, it's not even funny.) But if next season improves, I may have to come up with a better idea (buy a Tivo?) I love it when Bravo has PR marathons. My local library has most of the seasons on DVD, too.

Once in a while my husband will watch with me, even though he grouses about how silly it all is- but then he often makes really sharp observations as the clothes come down the runway!

* I have chronic Lyme disease that creates insane fatigue and sometimes insomnia, along with many other issues, so my sleep schedule has to be very regimented for me to function.

I'm Becca; I'm in New York; I'm an editor; I'm avoiding work; and I'm eating sea-salted kettle-cooked potato chips. And I'm a Gemini. :)

I don't really have a concrete ritual, but I usually keep a notebook with me to write down good quotes ("Why is one dress throwing up the other?"), pause the DVR right after they announce the challenge and try to come up with my own idea for it (as if I actually knew how to sketch *or* sew), and send many, many text messages to my mom and sister ("Waiting for a diaper LOLOL!!!" "R U kidding me?? Xtopher has 9 f'ing lives").

I've also written many Runway-related Notes on Facebook, including an imagined showdown between my sister and Tim Gunn (TG: "I got your tulle right here, bitch!" [motions to crotch; pauses to adjust cuff link]) and the rules to a drinking game I made up at the beginning of the season ("Gratuitous shot of Logan shirtless: 1 body shot")).

Yeah...I've got a little bit of a problem. >:)

and this is my favourite bar so far! hot toddy please.

This season is a little different since I don't get home until 11ish on Thursdays after commuting back home from class. Luckily I get to ff through commercials and get to bed at a reasonable time. There is usually a cup of tea involved and maybe a cookie or two ;) Maybe I should start having wine instead of tea, might make this season a little better...

@ Nichole- your imaginary season six sounds IDEAL.

I live in the Mojave Desert without TV (too cheap for satellite) so, on the night, I read TBone's live-blog on BPR (now with pix!). Then read Toyouke "My monkey could do that" blog for detailed recap. Then read last few pages of TLounge comments.

Next morning: Missy Schwartz EW column & Lorraine Here's the thing blog & THEN I rush over here for the TLo take. Then to Lifetime for Tim's Workroom.

Usually watch episode on YouTube if poss 'cause Lifetime's site is just so herky-jerky.

TLo, you boyz really make this show.

raisin mountaineer

We don't have cable, and I live in Flagstaff, AZ, (Denver time this time of year), so I "watch" via the lounge and other blogs, while it's happening. I make sure my 3-year-old is set up with a Pooh video so I won't get interrupted, make myself a bowl of ice cream and a glass of Makers Mark on the rocks, and settle in.

I obsess over the blogs at work all the next day, and FINALLY, on Saturday, I get to watch the full episode on the web.

My husband walks by the computer and says "are you still watching that thing" but I ignore him.

thursday is a big tv night for me which i watch a few shows with friends but its a must that i be home in time for the show. i will watch it even if i have to stay up for the late showing. i dont want to be out of the loop on friday & its a must to read TLO reviews the next day. no wine but most of the time its m & m's for a treat & hanging out with my daschund :)

My mom and I have been watching Project Runway since the 2nd episode of the 1st season, which aired during my senior year of high school. We sat on the living room couch with my younger sister and our Italian foreign exchange student. Dad joined us... sometimes.

Throughout the following seasons, I went away to school, lived on an island, and was generally absent on PR nights. But I always watched, and always called Mom during commercial breaks and after the shows ended.

Now, having not yet landed a big shiny web design job, I'm happily sitting with my mom and sister on the couch, teasing Dad to join us (he knows he wants to).

I'm a lawyer, and live in West Philly with my partner, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 birds. I'm a late-to-rise type, so I tend to work into the evening and race home in time to rush upstairs to the tv to turn on the show. In the hours before, I've checked out this blog (obsessively) and the Gratz Report. Watching doesn't involve any special routine. Afterwards I watch MOTR and I may even re-watch the show, although that tended to happen more in previous seasons when the designs were more interesting. The following day involves more obsessive checking this blog. Alta

EGADS!!! I can't believe that I just found this blog this week. I've been the most un-productive employee since my little discovery (thanks to Tim Gunn's fan page on Facebook).

ANYWAY...my routine is simple. I wrestle all 3 of the kids into bed before 9:00 pm and threaten them with bodily harm if any of them dares to interrupt my beloved Project Runway (of which I haven't missed a single episode since Season 1!). I then settle myself onto the couch with a big glass of tea, a blanket, whatever knitting project I have in progress and the remote. I cuss at the husband, he retires to the bedroom and I get to watch PR uninterrupted. *sigh* Life is good! The next morning I wait for my friend to call and we have our "PR debrief" and I click through the pictures while we pick apart each contestant's work from the night before.

Now the finale party...that's a whole different routine entirely and the resulting evidence is NOT pretty. =)

Oh! Finale party! This year I'm having everyone show up wearing a garment of their own design made from trash bags, duct tape and office supplies.

I'm in the KC area.

I watch the previous week's show as a lead in to this week's episode. Always with a glass of wine (or 2 or 3..). My kids and hubby give me snarky comments until they are given dire consequences for continuing their bad behavior. Then, after the runway, but before the judging results I talk to my sister on the phone to get her take. Then, we talk again after the results and giggle about what TLO will say on their blog!

I am currently in Clemson, SC but will be transfering back home to Charleston in the spring which is my segway to how I didn't think CH and Gordana would make it this far either. But since I'm also from Charelston I'm uber psyched that they are still around. I think they've done alot of great things. I don't think I really have a PR ritual. I just try to generally make myself stay awake. For the past few episodes I've just been waiting to watch it online the next day because as we've deducted some of the episodes have been such a yawn-fest that it's not worth it most of the time.

I come to this site way too many times a day, hitting refresh on the comments to see what new insight people have offered up. These commentors make a good point - we're posting about our rituals, but not as much about ourselves. I've got nothing else to do, so I'll add to it.

I've been a faithful follower of the blog since it started (S3 was the first one I watched), checking the site in the mornings after the episode aired, in hopes of finding out what happened while waiting for my iTunes download to finish. That was my sophomore year of college, and unfortunately the cable in the dorms didn't carry Bravo. Thankfully they added it the next year - that was when NBC/Bravo broke from iTunes. Missing Princess Puffysleeves would have made for an awful year, indeed.

Now I'm recently graduated, working and keeping pretty quiet here in the middle of Texas. Your site always makes the work day so much better. Always. Keep up the good work boys - you know we love you!

FLOVE THIS! lol

Greetings from Chicago, where I'm a writer/editor/proofreader by trade, a dog rescuer by choice, and a lover of books, art, music, fashion, movies, design, politics, and nature--and conversations about same.

My PR ritual is much like those that several others already mentioned, and it has not varied since Season 1, Episode 2: Get the dogs walked and comfy to avoid interruptions, turn off the laptop, get out the bottle of (domestic) champagne, curl up on the sofa, and ignore the phone and/or door bell. By now, my friends know not to call during PR time; I won't pick up.

I was sure that Epperson and Louise would still be in it by this point. I'm still not sure why two such talented people are gone, given what's left.

And like most of the rest of you, I'm looking forward to Season 7 and hoping the producers have made some much-needed changes.

This post has been removed by the author.

Central coastal California here -- twentysomething, medical tech industry, regular reader, infrequent commenter, sewing/costume geek. Been watching PR from the outset, and I keep coming back for the Gunn and for Mood, because I get all grabby-handedly acquisitive over the pretty fabric (and yell at my computer over idiocies like Chinstrap's lining-as-primary-fabric).

Lacking in cable now, my ritual involves trying to do something constructive around the house and usually giving up and just curling up in pyjamas before checking forums/blogs/Twitter for the results, wondering how the hell something happened. (And then bitching about the results with a coworker the day after, hurrah!) On rare nights I stay up far too late to watch it night-of once I can get my hands on it, and then am a zombie at work the next day due to PR+lack-of-sleep-induced-coma, but more often it'll be a Friday viewing along with snack and solitaire (or sometimes handsewing or jewellery-making) the moment I get home from work.

Must say, this season tempts me to stick my head into Mood when I'm down in the Fabric District next, but as someone who likes to dicker for her fabric, that's probably not a good idea ...

I'm kind of surprised at Christopher being there still (and some of the others that stuck around for a while), though I suppose he has Lifetime audience appeal or something, being a weepy dramatic princess. Based on talent, I expected Shirin and Epperson to still be around, possibly Ra'mon, though I'm not sure who instead of who. (I think Epperson and Gordana are my favourites this season, honestly.)

Vegas checking in here.

I don't have cable (thank you recession) and the local bar stopped doing PR viewing happy hour night when the show moved to Lifetime, so now I have to wait until they post the episodes online on Sundays.

It's torture.

Hi, fellow minions! My name is Amanda, I live in Austin, and I would like a dirty martini to start the evening. I am married to a lovely sweet man, have two darling but rambunctious little boys, and I manage a graphic design studio in my "real" life.

My PR ritual is usually to watch alone (every once in a while my hubby will watch with me), with some kind of salty snack, and a blanket wrapped around my feet (my feet get cold easily). Kinda boring, huh?

As for PR's final 5, no, I didn't predict these 5. I was on Team Louise from the previews. Alas, she didn't make the cut. Now I am rooting for CH and Gordana, just because they seem like decent folk who can also design. I could care less about the rest of them.

Yeah for TLo! Thanks for the prolific and entertaining blogging, and all the fun contests this season. I didn't win anything, but it sure was fun to see all the fabulous swag each week. Please tell all the designers that we send a heartfelt THANKS for the schtuff.

Mostly the people there are who I would've imagined would be. Ideally, Shirin would be in Christopher's spot but there is always a contestant that overstays there welcome.

I don't have much of a viewing ritual. I live in a dorm, so I watch in a lounge area. Sometimes there's another girl there with me. We act snarky. Usually I have my laptop so I can do homework or browse the internet during commercials.

Bostonian checking in!

Been watching PR pretty religiously since season 3 - but now I usually watch while online chatting with friends. Last week I actually watched with the boyfriend, who pouted through 2 hours of it. (Yes, I'm cruel)

I just found your blog with the Tim Gunn post (I can't even begin to tell you how fucking funny that was) and I run here several times a day to see what you've put up. You guys make my workday SO much better.

Im surprised Christopher is still here - I really kinda hope he goes tonight and Irena PISSES ME OFF BECAUSE SHE IS SUCH A BITCH.

Yay! Revisiting the art museum inspiration challenge, one of my favorites! Here's hoping that the last remaining designers are truly inspired and create some memorable work. I would love to hear Heidi say "And who do we hate?" and have all the judges not hate anybody, because eveyone's looks are so good.

... and then I wake up from my dream ...

Well... I finally took the time to actually get a blog account. I am no longer Anonymous!

******
My routine is to watch PR once while allowing minimum disractions, ie phone... kid... etc.. then after MOTR I watch it again. I miss the DVR (a victim of my recent belt-tightening) but most of what I watch on TV gets repeated a gazillion times during the week anyway. If I miss anything else I can usually watch it on the internet. Except for Idol ... because they are are too greedy to offer free viewings... but that's another post.

See y'all!

No routine per se, other than it involves adult beverages (wine/gin/vodka) and me & hubby usually saying something along the lines of "Are you fucking kidding me?", or "What shade is the Dutchess this week?", or "Don't bore Nina!"

This season has been such a bore. I used to have to scurry back in when I went out to the balcony to smoke during the commercial breaks (I quit the death sticks three months ago) - now, I flip channels, start textting friends, or am otherwise occupied. I watch, but am not very much engaged.

Can I just say that it irks me no end that, on my work computer, I can't watch the preview videos either on this blog or on the Lifetime site? I can't even get to the video page on Lifetime. Oddly, I can watch the extended judging and critiques here. Computers are so confusing.

I'm in Chicago, a lawyer, single, no kids, so, assuming the time and money are available (which isn't always the case!), I can do what I want when I want to do it.

Okay, my PR routine is that I don't have a routine. Or perhaps it's more accurate to say that I have two routines.

If I'm actually home early enough, I'll have dinner, and then settle in front of the TV with a book (for the commercials), a glass of wine, and usually a cat or two.

Often, though, I'm out somewhere hoping I'll be home by 9:00 (or at least 10:30 so I can watch the re-run). Seriously, I just realized that this is the 4th week in a row that I've been off gallivanting on a Thursday night! Author reading, retirement party, theatre benefit, and tonight, it's for the opening night of SOFA.

I thought Epperson would make it to the end. I still miss him.

Mood is about 3 blocks away from where I work. Sometimes I just wander in and roam for a few hours without even buying anything. :)

Chicago, Illinois in the house!! Usually it's me and the boyfriend with some take-out and a six pack of Stella or something comparable. My boyfriend watches the show a bit grudgingly, but after awhile he starts yelling at the TV just like I do.

bitchybitchybitchy

By day I am a mild-mannered federal bureaucrat...by night I morph into a couch potato/assistant to HE who must be obeyed, aka Genghis the cat. As all cat people know, the cat rules the roost.

I just plop down in front of the TV for PR, with a glass of red wine if we have some in the house.
My husband disappears so that I am then free to talk back to the TV in response to whatever idiocy the judges have come up with....boring, I know.

Malvin as a finalist...hmmm. Well, it would probably have been a very conceptual collection with some truly WTF was he thinking moments.

I thought Epperson or R'amon would have made it to the finals.

Poor Christopher, he really does look as if he's worn down in that preview teaser.

I was talking with a fellow PR fanatic this afternoon, and we both like Carol Hannah as one of the final three. My hunch is that Althea and Irina are the other two finalists.

The best part of PR, however, is firing up the computer on Friday mornings to read TLo! Darlings, you make it all worth watching!

MWAHHHHH!!!!!

C'est moi, c'est moi Lola

Okay, okay, in the spirit of "Getting to Know You" I'll spill some things, but the rest you need a security clearance for:

Sex: F
Age: Classified
Current Location: Madison, WI (Which means I'm close enough to Shakopee, MN, but will NOT be rioting if Xtopher goes tonight.)

Current Occupation: Event Planning

Languanges: English, Russian. In fact, I had a long discussion in Russian about "Soviet fashion" this week thanks to Uncle Nick.

Interests: Cycling, Fashion History, French New-Wave Cinema (hence, my moniker), volunteering for a local AIDS non-profit.

I started reading TLo between seasons 3&4, and fell in love with their Musical Mondays and Dames vs. Divas competitions.

Thanks guys, and if I told you any more, I'd have to kill you....

Damn! I've been waiting very patiently all week for the e-mail confirmation that I won the jacket for Mr. Siren. Congratulations Nancy!

~~~~~~~~~~
My PR viewing ritual=
I don't have cable, so I go to my friend Stan's house and we watch together, sometimes our flight attendant friend comes too if she's in town.
I make drinks, sometimes theme drinks and Stan makes nibblies.
Stan's pets like to sit on my lap.
Sometimes we get drunk.
I so badly wish I could watch with you guys!!! I'm incredibly boring since I watch in my comfy clothes, with a glass of wine and my faithful dog for company (and I DO NOT accept phone calls or emails during the show!) Since I'm in the Eastern time zone, I also DVR just to make sure I don't miss anything if I fall asleep (which has happened more than once this season). My daughter and daughter-in-law also watch, so we have to wait until all of us have seen it to start recapping/criticizing amongst ourselves. By far, the highlight is reading your blog and all its comments! From beautiful North Carolina, a toast to TLo and all their faithful readers/writers!
I just read ALL the comments up to now. I really, sincerely loved reading about all of you and your details. So fun to get to know the anonymous posters on TLo. Also, I thought Caitlin's answer was adorable. I wish I had a daughter just like her!
Here's looking forward to Season 7 and more from TLo. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
I'm a 37 year old male in Victoria, BC and watch PR with my wife the next day (after dl'ing the torrent...who needs cable?) while trying to avoid the TLo blog. I think I like PR because I'm a creative person myself (chef) and enjoy watching the process.
Right now I'm enthralled with Shirataki noodles, which are like a cross between Mr. Noodles and vermicelli - and have no calories. They're pure fibre.
What's your PR viewing ritual?
Ciao Bella blood orange sorbet and my laptop.
Fashionably late SoCal gal.
I'm usually hanging out with my Thursday Night Crafts, Giggles & Gossip posse until 9:45. Those of us PR fans rush home to catch the show.
I sip a mug of my favorite Good Earth Sweet & Spicy tea while watching.
Last week, I found myself lobbing sockballs at Irina. Rather fun! Think I'll leave the laundry basket next to the couch again tonight.
I am a self-employed unemployed IT consultant. I am from Ohio but had been working in DC. Watch live almost every week - but try to record in case I'd get home late or miss part of the show.
Been watching since a early the first season - but often disagreed with the the judging.
Finally I got my mother to watch a couple seasons ago. But a couple weeks ago she told me that she had "forgotten" about this season until then.
Since I am not working right now I tend to watch live and at least one of the reruns right after.
Hi I am ASK and I am a tv addict.
My PR ritual:
I'm curled up in bed, (this season) trying not to nod off, and laughing in anticipation over what Tlo are going to say about what's transpiring.
--GothamTomato
Because PR airs so late at nite for me, i record it and watch it in the morning before i go to work. Then about 2 or so (while at work) i check out the TLo blog and read up on all the sassiness.
I thought Malvin & Ra'mon would have been finalists but eh goes to show how much things change on this show.
Tonite i will be cheering for GORDANA!
My viewing ritual is couch, laptop, husband and chocolate. With some sort of beverage. I throw wrappers at the telly if something ridiculous happens. Usually, there's a fair few wrappers to pick up off the floor.
One thing though - I post my comments on TLounge cuz Hubs HATES when I comment during the show =)
I'm an Aussie living in Chicago cuz I went and married an American =) I'm 32, no kids and right now, I'm supposed to earning my keep instead of hanging out at TLounge. Which reminds me - can a girl get a mojito, please?
My first impression this season was that Malvin would make it further and ditto Ra'mon. I felt sorry for Johnny but that quickly soured. I am deeply surprised Christopher is still around. I wish Gordana could pull out a stunning look if only to shut Heidi up. Seriously, WHAT is Klum's beef with Gordana??
I've read the blog for what seems like ages now but it's really only been a few seasons. I still remember the day PR Minions posted over 600 comments waiting for TLo to wake up and post from Fashion Week =)
I desperately want to meet Tim Gunn and have lunch with him so I can hear him say things. Anything. My husband's cousin's sister was actually 3 feet from Tim in NYC while he was getting his hair did. I was murderous with envy that day.
I love Nina, I think she is wonderful and would gladly spend the rest of my life getting her coffee in the morning and running her errands just to be near her and her fabulous hair. Which TLo described as "another set of tits". I utterly agree!
Right now, I'm winding down from taking a Zumba class at the gym and am very happy about finally figuring out how to use the Anti-Frizz creme this morning on my hair. Frizz free darlings! Cheers!
And oh, I work for the company that makes TreSemme =) At a recent company event, we were treated to marketing's special slideshow of the TreSemme seasons on PR. My cold heart melted a little when the clip of Christian went up in which he declared that his wrestling name was "Ferocia Couture". Ah me, what a little scallywag that Christian was!
Remember the WWE diva challenge??! GAG! As TLo would say "SO much ass on the runway!"
oh and i forgot to mention...whats fun is rewatching the first episode online and seeing the old designers again. I guess there isnt going to be a reunion show this season. =(
Thats a shame b/c since this show filmed a year ago and it would be nice to see what became of all the designers.
A born and bred New Yorker, I moved to St. Louis about 8 years ago (shocking news I know considering my screen name). I work in Advertising/Marketing and have been a PR obsessive since the beginning of time. I have been a huge TLo fan again since the beginning of time, but it's only this year that I really started commenting as I've had a little more free time (previously owning my own business basically took up 18 hours a day).
My PR ritual is very basic: Thursday afternoon I make my TLOunge predictions (haven't won yet, maybe next season!). I have each episode of PR set to record, and at exactly 9:16 pm (here in St. Louis it's on at 9:00), I take my wine or cocktail and scurry into our bedroom and watch, uninterrupted and commercial-free, while my husband watches...something utterly less compelling to me than PR. While watching the program I will of course be musing about what TLo thinks about all of this and start formulating my own thoughts about the epiosde (Heidi using Gordana as a chew toy, Christopher's relentless overuse of dust ruffles, Althea's bustular missteps, Irina's flaccid hubris...) At its immediate conclusion I run to my computer to the TLOunge to read comments and in some cases post my own, but more often I will let the episode percolate and wait to comment the next day. I have not heard of some of the blogs other posters are mentioning, I will have to check some of them out. I will say I LOVE Chris March's blog and read it religiously; Sissy Bear has quite the hilarious way with words in addition to his way with a sewing needle!
TLo, this minion has nothing but the greatest affection and admiration for you. I can honestly say yours is the site I visit most daily - nothing else even comes close - and I love the community that has gathered around your brillance. Thanks for all hard work, and for making all our lives a little more fashionable, fun, inspired and inspiring.
XO
Emily
Finally came out of hiding last week and you'll never get me to leave! I've been reading you guys for the last year at least and you have been part of my recent fashion makeover that has me looking very fabulous indeed.
Sci is a biomedical grad student who is too poor to own a TV, and thus has to possess her soul in patience until Lifetime posts the episodes every week. I then plunk down with my own sewing and have a good therapeutic yell at the contestants.
Christopher, honey, love the sinner, hate the sin. Your designs, my dear, they are a sin. But I kind of think you're adorable anyway.
I could have SWORN Ra'mon had golden boy written all over him. Shirin was a shoo-in. I've been steadily more impressed with little Dr. Whitfield and Gordana (Charleston, SC, FTW!). But I think the love for Shirin is positively dripping off the judges. I hope out hope for next season.
I actually go to Parsons, so I mostly just work my as off Thursday nights, and have to wait for the weekend before I can watch the episode, but I always read you guys during my afternoon class in the cafeteria!
PS, there's this junior fashion competition that FIT and Parsons do, called Fusion. You guys should cover it--I was selected as one of the finalists!
Sam
Emily: "flaccid hubris" LOVE. I must use that in a sentence soon!
Ditto Emily's sentiment: my 2 fave topics are fashion and politics. TLo is a blog I check every day. Even on the weekends!
I sometimes daydream of seeing Tom or Lorenzo or BOTH out and about. What would I do? What would I say? Probably something inane like "OMGZ! I LOVE you guys!" Then stand there like a stupid girl, gibbering.
P.S. Musical Mondays and Virgins vs Vixens is the highlight of my week when they appear!
I have to say, it's really nice reading about where people are from and stuff like that. With that in mind, hello all from upstate NY. It's cold and gray here and I'm really looking forward to some color on TV tonight. Come on, designers!
Sci: do elaborate on your makeover! How lovely.
I'm in need of a makeover myself. Currently in an interesting position of having just started our own business a year ago so budget must be stuck to. Which means I have to make do with what I have for now.
What did you change about your look? Did you purge your closet and get a whole new one? Or update with investment pieces?
Lovelovelove reading about everyone. It's "GET TO KNOW ME" time in the TLounge!!!
Since I responded before the personal info purge began....
I can add that I'm 37, married mom of one (two including the dog), a banker, and now living 45 minutes west of Philadelphia after 12 years in South Florida (Boca Raton/Fort Lauderdale). I've been an avid TLo reader since the early PR seasons - though I was more of a lurker than a commentator back then.
I have little fashion knowledge and my work wardrobe tends to lean towards the conservative. (People apparently don't like crazy handling their money......)
Anyway - it looks like this season will end with a whimper....I'm really looking forward to next season with lots of crazy Nina/Duchess/Frau Seal recaps and screencaps and Alex PRGToons......
Reading this blog is one of the best diversions.....and I've sent some shekels into the tip jar as a gesture of my sincere appreciation....
Stats: I'm a book illustrator, creator of serious graphic novels for grownups, and professional Egyptian-style bellydancer and folkloric dancer. I live in Brooklyn.
PR ritual: My husband and I on the fake midcentury-modern couch, fighting for space with a very fat and snorty cat. This season I'm pregnant, but when not huge with child, we share a bottle of cheap Cotes Du Rhone and whatever we were able to knock together in the kitchen...or order from the local bulletproof Chinese joint. Nowadays, husband makes himself a martini or a Manhattan. He's a teacher at School of Visual Arts, so we both love the creative problem solving aspect of PR, and the one thing we're really enjoying in this dull season is the increased screen time showing Tim Gunn's critiques. He is a dream of a teacher, someone to learn from if you teach people on a professional track.
And lately I've been very surprised by my husband's hilariously bitchy comments about this season's entries. I didn't know he had it in him!
another laura
This little minion lives in Manhattan, practices law by day and fights crime in a fabulous skin-tight black leather catsuit with thigh-high boots by night.
PR ritual this season is to DVR and not bother to watch until Friday night or, if I'm out Friday night, Saturday morning. And I'm usually doing the NY Times crossword at the same time, regardless. Beverage of choice is white wine if it's a Friday night, coffee if it's Saturday morning. Oh yes, and my little dog is always on the sofa with me.
Time was that I would start watching the DVR about 20 minutes in and catch up by the end, and be madly catching up Friday morning with my West Coast PR buddy. I'm hoping for a need to return to this for Season 7!
The fact that I do not watch in anything approaching real time this season does not keep me from coming to Project Rungay and commenting based on still photos I see here and elsewhere, of course, lol
My husband and I watch together, sometimes starting late if he's working into the evening. We had a cable-less friend join us for the first ep this season, but since we moved further across the Twin Cities in September, she no longer makes the trek.
We tend to eat ice cream and drink fruit-flavored water, although hubby can make a killer Chocolate Raspberry martini.
And we frequently pause the show to comment, although our outbursts aren't nearly as entertaining as reading your blog. Thanks so much for sharing with your loyal minions!
I just don't know about this season anymore...and I don't know if next season will be any better...As Anne Of Green Gables would say, "I am in the depths of despair" about this show!
The one thing I DO know, however, is I want to take a trip to London just to sip a cocktail in this bar. I wonder if I'll be cool enough to get in...
My ritual is this: Get home from work/dinner engagements. Get into my jammies. Grab a Skinny Cow fudge bar, sit down, and let the games begin! During commercials, my mother (who lives in Florida) and I (living in Chicago) call each other to make bitchy comments about the contestants. After the show, we bitch about the judges.
"And lately I've been very surprised by my husband's hilariously bitchy comments about this season's entries. I didn't know he had it in him!"
Same with my husband =) I love it when guys bitch and I especially love it when Hubs turns to me and says "Wow, that's not fabulous at ALL!"
I live in Miami, FL. I just moved here after living in Lawrence, KS for the last eight years. I miss Lawrence because I had a fabulous group of friends who would get together every week to watch PR together. We actually called ourselves the PR Crew. Junk food and wine were a must with us, too.
Even though I miss my PR Crew, these days, I watch the show with two very fabulous ladies, my mother and her Maltese puppy, Yoshi.
Love you and love your blog!
My fellow minions are so damn cool.
This was a great idea TLo. I'm thoroughly enjoying reading about everyone. We've seen behind your curtain and now you (and we) are seeing behind the monitor. Love it!
I'm a married Mom of a college student, in Southern Oregon. I actually get the East Coast feed (yeah Dish Network!), so I DVR it, and start watching it a little into the show so I can skip commercials. My husband will ask me what the challenge is, then he wants me to call him for the runway show and judging. In previous seasons, my son was living here, so we would watch it together. Now, I save the DVR and we watch it again when he comes home on weekends. The only drink I usually have while watching is, sadly, Diet Pepsi! On Friday mornings, my first internet stop is TLo, and I eagerly read each and every post. I've been reading this blog since the beginning. I don't always comment, but Tom and Lorenzo are like family in my house, everyone wants to know what you're talking about...I guess you're like E.F. Hutton...smooches!
See? This is why I love this blog. Even though I rarely post comments, I've always felt like this was an extremely wonderful and well-dressed community. I live on the West Coast with three cats and a large amount of self-reliance. Because I live 3 time zones away from the start of the show on the East Coast, I avoid the internet beginning around 8:00 so I can be surprised when I finally get to watch. I putter around my house, work on my quilt, or chase cats until PR has been on for 15 minutes. Then TIVO and I become best friends. My routine usually involves a pretty drink in a fancy glass and being buried under two very large cats. The entire time I'm watching I think about what TLo is saying and what they will say on Friday. (And also that the cats have to lose weight.) It is, quite simply, the highlight of my TV week.
I'm 39 and in my second year of law school in New Orleans, after many years as a chef.
No TV, no cable so I read the Lounge on Thursday as it airs (you people are FUNNY!), watch the extended stuff on Lifetime's site and read TLo on Friday, and finally get to see the ep on Saturday morning while I drink coffee and ready myself for more studying.
I found TLo last year during a hurricane evacuation. It made the week spent in a smelly hotel, in a small Tennessee town, with two cats, totally bearable.
Littlebook: Is that a picture of your cat? I LOVE cats. I had 2 very large cats when I was growing up and they only very recently passed away. I miss them a lot!
Sadly, Hubs is a dog person. WTF?! I clearly didn't marry well....heh
But never mind, I will get a cat into the house one way or another. It just wouldn't do otherwise!
Oh yeh....I'm an accountant. HAHAHA so TVKimmy, I think I am safely un-cool.
Never mind, I make up for it by being wonderfully verbose! hee!
I watch PR at 10pm Thursdays, alone (because I live alone). For a long time, no one I knew watched the show, but just recently, a co-worker professed her love for the show, so we now have a Friday morning PR gabfest. As for the finalists, meh. The two I liked most are long gone, and I can't really get behind any of the remaining designers. I'm sad to say this is the first season where I have no I'm really pulling for.
I LOVE verbose! It's one of my stronger personality traits. Good? Bad? Depends on who you ask. lol
No worries. Your here. That instantly makes you cool. Plus you rock a bitchen' avatar/icon. ;)
Here's a sad story:
I can't watch the episode until 3 weeks after it airs in the US (stupid Canadian broadcasters), and it's on on Saturday nights at 10, when I generally have plans other than watching tv, so I don't get to watch it, but I refresh Project RunGay ALL DAY ON FRIDAY and all other days following until I get the low down on the whole episode.
christopher's crying again. BAHAHA.
TVKimmy - flattery will get you everywhere!
But seriously, thank you!
Your avatar is bitchy is a fabulous way =) I've always wondered if people really can get hair that red and still look normal?
Victoria Paige: Yes, that is Angry Bob hanging out on my back deck. He is my "involuntary" cat in that I never actually told him he could move in. Instead, I came home one day and found him sleeping on my couch and the rest is history.
Screw it. I just hip-checked the bartender outta there and I'm mixing. Who's having what? I've picked up the tab until 9:00. Open bar, dolls!
I want to hang out with Victoria Paige.
Love your posts, and you sound like a kick-ass woman.
What fun! I loved reading about everyone here.
I'm reporting in from my home office in Orange County, CA where I run a small marketing communications firm. Originally from the Boston area I'm embarrassed to admit I now live in Coto de Caza, the home of the first Real Housewives franchise... and even more embarrassed by how much of my life has intersected with theirs. All my body parts, however, are original.
I've been watching PR since Season 3 reading TLo since mid-way through the same. I adore them while also harboring insane jealousy over their creativity and wit.
You know that curious cat? That's me. I always read BPR's live blog and the TLounge comments to know what's going on while waiting for the show to air on the West Coast. The satisfaction of knowing the outcome enables to wait until Friday or Saturday to watch the show. My husband never watches with me. My pug, Riley Roo (hence my screen name), often will keep me company.
Never would I have guessed that Gordana, Althea and CH would make it to the final 5. I expected Louise to make it further.
My sincere thanks go to all of you and to TLo for building this wonderful community.
All the best,
Donnelle
Loving reading all the comments, kittens!
Okay, first round of martinis are poured, and it looks like there's a lull. My usual PR ritual: I watch the show when it airs, with either a glass of wine or a cup of peppermint tea. I scream at said TV for about a minute after the show ends, venting my frustration at the cracked judging, then I shut off the TV before MotR can suck me in.
Now back to tending bar. What'll you have, luv?
I TiVo PR, and wait until about 10:30 to start watching so I can skip the ads and the repetitive stuff. I sip a lovely glass (sometimes two) of port while wondering what kind of producer manipulation will happen this episode, which leads to hollering at Heidi and the other judges.
I second that. "Waiter, another round of martinis."
lmao - Thanks! I admit my hair has less pink in it then that pic but it is pretty damn red. Normal? It's normal for me! lol I'm pale and freckled, I can work it.
Sweet! If you have a Gorgeous Bartender special, I'll take that!
@Gorgeous Things - you're my girl!
Mix me whatever you like....
TLo - love youse back!
Amanda - I have heard lots of good things about Austin! How do you like it there?
Littlebook - and that is exactly why I LOVE cats. They're bitchy, they're bossy and they don't bloody well care what you think.
"Now feed me or I will scratch this pashmina to bits. Don't tempt me, human. After dinner, I'd like a tummy rub. Hop to it!"
I live in south central Louisiana (south of Opelousas) in a trailer on the bayou (Bayou Teche, for those of ya'll who know). I don't have TV, so I have to follow PR through ya'll. And, yeah, there are gators in the bayou, along with nutria rats, etc. And, no, I've never eaten the nutrias.
Cajun French is my second language, but I don't have much of an accent in English (well, at least I don't think so.) I love to cook gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice (I pickle my own pork and onions for dat, er, that), crawfish etouffee', crawfish pie (heck, anything crawfish), etc.
So if I COULD watch the show, my ritual would be to lean back with something really good to eat, and swill (er, drink) a bunch of Ken Pitre's wine that he makes (my neighbor across the street). And yell at the judges in French. (My kids know when I'm REALLY mad because I start yelling in French -- they told their teachers they learned French swear words first. Oops.)
I'll bet I could take on Heidi, hands down, even though I'm only 5' 2''. That German Frau's never met a hot-blooded Cajun (actually, I'm only half Cajun, the other half is French from France, but anyway.)
So, hope ya'll found this entertaining. The bayou is really pretty -- if you don't believe me, I'll send ya'll pics.
Well, I'm a powerbroker who watches in the limo between office and heli-pad.
Oh FINE! I'm a dumpy 43-year-old tech writer with an attitude problem. Happy? :D
I've been with TLo almost since the beginning, and I used to comment way more than I do now before those evil IT bastards outlawed blogspot. I posted a link on FB to the Tim Gunn post. GOD that was funny!!
My viewing ritual is to bag the show and read the recap ASAP. I just can't spend any of my life on it. But yesterday for fun I went back and read all the season 1, season 2 and season 3 posts.
This is fun! I watch the show with my best friend and/or sister with a bottle of wine, crackers and cheese or dip. We scream at the TV in unison and make fun of what Heidi is wearing.
Oh, and I live in NY and have been reading Tlo ever since they posted their "Ode to Tim Gunn"
Oh, and I'm from Princeton, NJ.
Roo: "All my body parts, however, are original." Well DONE, darling, bravo. Keep it up! Don't go plastic.
Gorgeous: I'll take a martini!
TVKimmy: I want to have flaming red hair just like your avatar. Pale and freckled you say? Excellent - just like my favourite fiction character, Anne of Green Gables. She was sassy =)
This is such goofy fun!
Anne: "Well, I'm a powerbroker who watches in the limo between office and heli-pad.
Oh FINE! I'm a dumpy 43-year-old tech writer with an attitude problem. Happy? :D"
HAHAHHAHAHAHA hilarious, thanks for the hearty laugh!
You got it Victoria. Pull up a chair and chat with me while I pour. I'm loving hearing everyone's story. It's one of the things I love about tending bar.
@Buffy - love your avatar. We have a Border Collie, but we babysit Tessie the Rottie on a regular basis. She has a big bowling ball butt that she loves to park on our feet when we watch TV.
Where's Bill?
I'm from Venezuela, I'm here in the US getting my Master's Degree in Anthropology. I fell in love with PR when I was flipping through the channels and saw the season 1 post office challenge. I started reading TLO during season 3 when they posted about Angela and the puppets.
ToddNY: "Oh, and I live in NY and have been reading Tlo ever since they posted their "Ode to Tim Gunn"
Hey, it's ToddNY!
What do you look like under that red hood? =)
Victoria -- thank you very much. They may not be fine, but they're mine.
Gorgeous Thing -- you're doing a splendid job making everyone feel welcome.
Gorgeous: thanks, mate. So - is that you in the pic with Tim? You should know that I may have to kill you with my envious stare if it is.
Isabella: What a lovely name! It's Hubs' favourite. How are you doing so far in the US? I'm from Australia and it took me a while to get used to the American culture =)
Roo: I feel you. My girls could be bigger but, I am so over it.
Plus if I want someone to stare the ladies, I'd use a push-up bra. But honestly, at 32 years of age, I just want interesting conversation, good food, a great drink and go to bed at a reasonable hour! hahahah =)
I say go for it! Life's too short and it's just hair. My ex-husband named the "Queen of Mood Hair." lmao It's been every length and damn near every color at least once, as well has varying degrees of curly or straight. I'm slowing down a bit in my old age. It's been seriously fricken' long for awhile now, but I'm thinking of donating it.
As for Anne of Green Gables....OMFG I LOVE ANNE OF GREEN GABLES!!! One of my childhood idols. It helped make me the well rounded, smart assed, redheaded pale freckled girl I am today. lmao
Northern central NJ here. 44 yr old 'mo. Blissfully "unioned" to my darlin' Ed. No kids, no pets, no problems. Big ol' Tudor house in the suburbs that we love to death. Officer and 13 year vet of The Very Safe Insurance Company.
Discovered the blog on August 25, 2006 about a month after you guys started blogging. It was the earlyish days of Season 3. A friend in DC sent the classic Love Gunn post. Still makes me weep with laughter. I was hopelessly yours once I read back to the Alison/Daisy Duck post. Musical Mondays were the icing on an already delicious cake.
In past seasons, Ed & I watched on the couch with glasses of white wine and lots of talking to the screen and each other.
This season: Work to yoga class (yay!) to home. Make dinner. Ed home. Eat. Dishes. Start laundry. Park it on the couch.
Ed usually too tired to make it 'til 10 because we doubled the size of The Farmhouse Store in August (shameless plug for our gift and house wares store in Westfield NJ), and he's been working his adorable butt off. He usually watches the previous week's show at 9 and heads to bed somewhere in the middle of it.
I stay up to do laundry, web surf, do crosswords puzzles, etc. while sort of watching the new episode. It just hasn't had the strangle hold on me that previous seasons have had.
But I still love the blog and love all my web friends here in TLOunge.
Cheers!
I've been here for a while (went to school here too), I love it, no complaints, miss my family, of course. My husband is American, he teaches Sociology, and when I finish my degree we're moving to England for my PhD.
Victoria, that is me with the fab Sir Gunn. I met him at the season 4 finale party, when I went as the official TLo photographer! That was a night I'll remember forever!
Who ordered the Grasshopper?
And Suzq - I'm sending you a whiskey hot toddy. It's great for when you have the flu.
@Victoria Paige: Austin is fantastic. You should come visit! I lived in Chicago years ago, only while my hubby went to grad school. We lived in Rogers Park. I really loved Chicago, but Texas is my true home.
@Gorgeous Things: thanks for tending bar. It's a thankless job. I would like another dirty martini, please. Extra olives. And keep 'em coming.
Addendum to my much earlier posting: I'm in greater New York, Westchester County.
I'm delighted to see so many sister Portias in Tribe TLo.
What an interesting and geographically diverse group we are, but we knew that!
All the best,
NDC
oh yeah, and I have a huge crush on Gorgeous Things.
And I have a huge crush on Bill.
And we love you too, Bill! I've always enjoyed reading your posts, especially the ones on the musicals. Great store, congratulations!
Bill: I all of a sudden want to move to nth central NJ. I love Tudor houses. I need people like you in my life! You have a delightful way of expressing yourself. Shameless plug indeed and why not?! The bills have to be paid!
TVKimmy: I love experimenting with my hair! Although I've not been nearly as adventurous as you have been (I'm an accountant.....I'm risk averse).
I love to get it cut etc and always laugh at people who fall into a weeping mess when they get their hair cut. Don't they know it grows back?
As Anne would say "You are a kindred spirit" Those books were one of the first I read growing up. English is not my first language (Mandarin is) so the Anne books were a big big help.
Oh, yeah. I have huge crush on Bill.
His commentary on all the Musical Mondays could be a blog of their own.
Bill, you're adorable!
From North Dakota here. My routine: Cat, wine, pillow, couch, partner, huge TV.
Who would have thought Christopher would have made it this far??
No real PR routine but usually me and my bf will watch it on the couch, usually 10 or 15 minutes after the 10pm start time so we can fast forward through commercials, and watch the drama unfold. We usually can't shut our mouths during the runway because we're ripping outfits up and down and making remarks on how old we think Althea looks or how awulf Carol Hannah's eye make up is. Less is more honey!
Other than that...just a simple 26 year old living in Indianapolis wishing I knew how to sew.
Love you TLo!
I'm from Portugal and I'm 6 months away from graduating in Journalism :)
I started to watch PR during season 4, when a portuguese cable channel was broadcasting it... it was the Hershey's Challenge. From that moment on I became a devoted fan of the show and I've watched all the seasons!
As I can't stand waiting 'til some Portugueses channel broadcast season 6, I usually watch it online on Fridays and then I just run to TLo to check on their thoughts about the episode! I can honestly that, for me, you guys play a huge role in my PR love!
My favorite PR designer ever is Daniel Vosovic, but I also love the fabulous Laura Bennett, Austin Scarlett and Christian Siriano!
Initially I was betting on Louise Black as the one to watch and I truly believed she was going to make it far, but as soon as my eyes saw Gordana's terrific dress on challenge #1 I knew she was the one I would root for! Do I think she's gonna be one of the 3 finalists? I sincerely hope so, but I'm not couting on it... Heidi would never let her :(
BTW, the two TLO post that make me roll on floor laughing like mad are the one with Kenley vs. Nina and LL Cool J and the one were TLO rip Kayne's dress on Couture du Jour episode with the "I hate this bitch" sentences!
Feeling a little BAD MOMMY-ish because my ritual for watching this show is to plunk down on the couch with my kids (who are boys in grade school and Jr. High) and my husband. We let them stay up late (it's over at 10:00) and we pause the tv to allow for many heated comments as the story unfolds.
I tell myself that my kid are learning many fine life lessons from the trials of contestants and priceless insights into the cruel unfairness of life via the judges - heh.
We've been watching faithfully since Laura Bennet/crazy Vincent/Jeffrey(who my kids call "writing neck"). My youngest son had such a crush on Allison and cried when she was aufed.
Tom and Lorenzo's comments have moved into our private family vocabulary. Although, sadly, I didn't find this blog until "The Fashion Show."
I love the wit and insight of all of you. You all add a lot to our lives. ; )
That's for the hot aussie males to find out ; )
The men in your country are gorgeous, and I love their accent too.
Should we do a run down of who has a crush on Bill? Mark me down too!
@Isabella: you're going to England? Can I stow away with you?! I love all things English!
@FashionFanatic: you've changed your name again, my dear! Which is fine of course =)
You can tell he's cute. Just look at that chin and chest.
@Todd: oh honey, I know. Watch out, they'll break your heart! SIGH.
I live in DC. My routine is very simple, lots of food on the coffee table and something to drink, usually soda. I don't answer the phone or text messages while I'm watching the show.
Never hang out in the Lounge, but love the pix. Didn't find PR until Season 3, when my employer at the time (large apparel company) put something on the Intranet about a colleauge from one of our many subs being one of the designers on a show called PR (Bonnie Gillespie). Had heard of it, been meaning to watch it. If I had known there was SEWING involved, I would have been here sooner. Anyway, I decided to watch. First episode was actually Season 3 Road to the Runway. Who is this Tim Gunn person and where has he been all my life?!? There was no going back after seeing the "HOME sewer" soon to be know as Bad Mommy's audition. I was in heaven. Few weeks later, found this blog--actually, I think it had just started--and the rest is history. Beckoned to DH "you gotta see this". Bot S1 and 2 on DVD. DH stayed up one night and watched ALL of Season 1. *I* had to catch up. Anyway, I've finally got him reading the blog, since it's way more entertaining than the show at this point.
The only ritual we have is watching one or two days later, perhaps during lunch or dinner and trying hard not to find out ahead of time what the results were. If I cared more, I might be convinced to watch on Thursday night. Maybe next season...
@Sewing Siren: Todd's pic always made want to just lift that hood a teensy bit. SIGH. All the good ones are gay. Oh cruel Fates!
Hello my name is Jenn and I'm a PRaholic. (Hi Jenn).
I watch the show while drinking a glass of wine or a good beer. I don't watch it until it is over, so I can fast forward through the commercials. I love yelling out reactions so loud my roommate comes upstairs and check to make sure everything is alright! My cat just stares at me like I'm an idiot. The next day I wake up and check TLo's blogs which usually are posted by then, one of the the joys of living in San Diego is East Coast people have already put in a productive morning at work by the time I wake up. :)
That's my ritual. Thanks guys for making this blog so entertaining. :)
Count me in as a charter member of the "I've got a crush on Bill" club. And his other half's name is Ed, which is my dad's and my oldest son's name too, so that just cements it!
I'm from Boston. Born, raised and learned to drive here. Not a Red Sox fan though, and I never have been. I'm a high-tech refugee who started an online fabric store, GorgeousFabrics.com (Bill, I'm joining you in shameless self promotion).
Married to the same wonderful man for half my life (I was 14 1/2 when we got hitched). Two kids, the aforementioned Border Collie, a serious sewing habit and a Mustang Convertible.
Enough about me. Who needs what to drink, and let's hear your stories!
sorry on my last comment I meant Kayne's outfit in Hight Flying Fashion and not in Couture du Jour!
Cuddles said:the two TLO post that make me roll on floor laughing like mad are the one with Kenley vs. Nina and LL Cool J
Me, too! And I know I'll be re-read the Tim Gunn one from this season for many months to come.
@Bill: thank you for posting the Love Tim Gunn link!
I will spend the rest of my life trying to elbow all the 'mos & bitches out of my way so I can become Tim's sidekick.
I've been ready for Christopher's whiny ass to go home for weeks now.
I'm in my second year in law school and this blog saves me from going comatose in my morning classes. It also sometimes results in weird stares because TLo always cracks me up, and I have a hard time laughing quietly.
@Gorgeous: Because I love all things Mad Men, I'll have a Gimlet please :)
I'm late to the party! I go out dancing every Thursday night, so DVR Project Runway and watch as soon as I get home. And I just want to say thanks, TLo, for providing me with hours of entertainment. I especially love the Musical Mondays...your take on "White Christmas" absolutely had me in stitches. I had the whole office wondering what was making me laugh so hard. Love you guys...don't ever change!
To chime in on the "Bad Mommy" posts. I let my boys watch PR, too. They are almost 8 and almost 5, and they love the show. They like any reality competition shows (they really love the cooking challenge shows on the Food Network), and my youngest son always asks me, "Is this one a race, Mommy?" (meaning, are the designers in a race against each other, like on Amazing Race.)
So, don't feel bad if PR is part of our family's culture. It's mostly wholesome, and showcases creativity, which is super cool. And they bleep the really bad words. (I think.)
Although, my kids don't watch it live because it's on after their bedtime. I DVR it, and they watch it on the weekends.
I have a few friends here in Austin whose kids also like the show. We joke about it with each other. One of my friends thinks she's going to have to buy a sewing machine soon because her kids want to make the stuff they see on tv.
SusanID: Jeffrey will officially be "writing neck" to me from now on. LOVE IT.
I don't have a ritual. However, I do have a tale about a memorable episode...
Because of PR I started sewing again. I really wanted a custom made dress form, but didn't want to pay the high price. I found a DIY version on the web made out of duct tape.
I invited two girlfriends over to help me and to watch PR. I poured some wine, and we got to it. The instructions had me put on a long t-shirt. Then my fiends covered me with short pieces of tape that established the shape. Then there was a horizontal layer of tape, then a verticle one. And then we made out.
Okay, not that last part.
Did I mention it was August? In Washington, DC? And that I don't have central air?
About halfway through the horizontal layer I started to swoon. Pretty soon I was sticking ice cubes down the *very tight* form. I couldn't sit down. It got kinda scary.
I realized models really don't have it that easy.
I survived. We cut the form off me and damn if my friend didn't also cut of my underwear.
And then we made out.
Or we ate pizza and drank more wine.
I never did finish the form. I didn't like how I looked in duct tape. Sort of like fertility statue meets the Tin Man.
Oh, and I have a huge fan-crush on (aside from T-Lo of course): Bill (your musical knowledge and wit slay me), Gorgeous Things, Gotham Tomato and many others. Frankly, folks, sometimes I weep because you are so funny. And thanks for bringing up my favorite TLo post of all time, Bill, the Ode to Gunn.
Let's see, I don't really have a routine, usually just me and the cats watching. This year hasn't really done it for me; I do miss my dvr since I would like to tape and watch later. I'm actually much more invested in Project Rungay this year than Project Runway. I don't think I had a guess who would win but I did get spoiled for when Malvin got auf'd; I went to the Lifetime site to find more clues for the TLo contest (I've only ever won once, dammit!) and found that they were early putting the Out tag on his picture.
Anyway, about me. I live in San Diego but am trying to move to Portland. It's hard to find a job long distance! I don't have a great fashion sense but always learn here. And I join in on the Bill crush; anyone with that much theater and old movie trivia in his head is going to be a favorite.
O.k., I didn't get too personal first time around, but will join in now.
I found TLo in 2007 a few months after I stumbled on PR. It was Musical Mondays that sparked my abject minion-hood. (White Christmas. Best MM Ever.)
I'm middle-aged, 2 kids, one now in college. Formerly an engineer, now a PhD student learning how to be an incisively analytical government bureaucrat. (Why are you laughing?) But I love my current underpaid underemployment not just because it leaves brainspace for studenthood, but because of its speedy Internet connection and freedom to refresh TLO obsessively.
I love PR because I've loved fabric and textile art since I was in high school, but though I'm a home-sewer with one or two dressmaking classes in my history, my grasp of proportion is shaky and I am not good with color. There's decades of photographic evidence that while I've owned some kick-ass clothing over the years, well, let's just say if I were a celebrity I'd need a team of stylists who rarely allowed me an independent decision.
And I forgive Lifetime for its user unfriendly website, even for this lacklustre season, because of the extended workroom videos. There should be more of THAT onscreen.
Hi, I am a grossly under-employed art director from Boston. I found Tlo through the Salon/Tabletalk/Mothers who think/TV community way, way back.
I watch the show especially because I love to see other people perform creative tasks under pressure, especially because of the field in which I work.
On the other hand, I hate MadMen, specifically because not much has changed. Watching Peggy struggle hits too close to home.
I adore Tlo, and would probably die without them. Hyperbole? Maybe not!
We minions need a T-shirt, and I volunteer to design it!
path
@ Chicken Barbie: OMGROTFLMAO! That was hilarious. Glad you survived the home-made dress form.
...And then we made out.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Yes, I'm on the crush on Bill bandwagon. And not just for his incredible knowledge - he obviously is a decent, thoughtful individual.
As is common here, I suspect.
What fun meeting everyone! I'm 44, neglectful mother of 3, living in MD. I have an etsy shop in which I flog my handbags and monster-themed messenger bags (sixgables, if you're in a shopping frame of mind). I love to sew and if PR had aired when I was in college, it might have actually changed my life. Instead, it causes me to buy fabric from our dear Gorgeous Things which I hoarde instead of turning it into something fabulous.
I've been reading the blog since darn near the beginning and feel a weird pride at how well TLo have done. Like it's somehow validating my excellent taste.
Sometimes I am here as Mazeway.
@path: YES, PLEASE! TLo shirts. I want one!
I've spent the last week or so rereading previous TLo posts. So funny and more interesting than the show is now. I must say I would love it if some of the dresses from early S3 got some love and attention, though (although it's fun to see what this place was like when it was new!) and I'm really not trying to annoy anyone or create more work. I just like reading witty things! And stuff. Okay, time for a glass of wine. (Do I sound like I've already had one? Oops.)
"Chicken Barbie said...
ROFLMAO. Hilarious! Thanks for sharing!!
I watch it live as it airs, usually. (OK, it depends on how late I've stayed up the rest of the week--usually I can make it to the end, though.) Used to watch it with my daughter, when she lived with us--ANTM and PR, led us to rechristen the day as WednesGay. Not as much fun now--daughter back at her mom's and a partner who--gasp!--hates fashion.
I don't have cable (or even an antenna) so I follow the show through your site by reloading like mad to read everyone's comments and I follow along with BPR's instant replay app they have this year, which is awesome. I watch on Saturdays when the show comes online but the show has been so meh this year that I forget until Sunday (or yesterday in the case of last week's show).
I kind of have to sneak the show because no one else in the house cares. :)
Roo & Cuddles: LL Cool J vs Kenley was a classic!
My personal favourite screen cap was Rick vs Nina in that dull Today Show Challenge:
"Don't you cry on my runway, chico."
http://projectrungay.blogspot.com/2007/12/kevin-and-ricky.html
Oh, didn't mean to post yet: so much more to say!
Hating this season, most of the designers are boring me to tears (yes, I'm talking to you Althea, Gordana, and Christopher Sobbin). Can't believe that Irina is considered top-of-the-line. Any other season, she would have been out by now. Kind of starting to dig Carol Hannah, though--she was completely off my radar when the season started.
Holding my breath for Season 7. It can't be much worse!
Victoria Paige wrote: "Emily: "flaccid hubris" LOVE. I must use that in a sentence soon!"
Aw, shucks, thank you! It just came to me as I typed, I admit I cracked myself up with that one...
Can I also finally say after months of thinking it that I LOVE your screen name - "The Red Shoes" is one of my all-time favorite films...
@Chicken Barbie: I think we should be BFF cuz that is exactly the kind of crazy stuff I unwittingly found myself.
In Year 7, I took the Textiles class and promptly sewed my sweater sleeve (with my arm in it) to the skirt I was making. Not to fear, no body parts were harmed. Just my sleeve, my skirt and my dignity. So endeth my designer/sewing dreams...!
@path: You design the T-shirts and I will plunk down my money for them!
@EEK/STL: darling, I must confess I have never seen the Red Shoes! Everyone says it's fabulous!
You know why I chose "Victoria Paige"? Cuz Nathan Lane in "The Bird Cage" said with all the drama he could summon:
"Victoria Paige will not dance the dance of the Red Shoes tonight!"
I love that movie because I am basically a drama queen and 90% of the time, I want to swoon around hysterically. But they tend to frown on that type of thing where I work. =)
I'm with the big fat cupcake and milk person. After the first show, I picked Ramon, Christopher, and Epperson for the three finalist. I feel no remorse for my Ramon and Epperson pick. But boy, did Christopher let me down.
My ritual is to put a weekly five dollar bill into Tom and Lorenzo's tip jar.
I hope they use it to buy themselves something pretty.
Suz
