SATC2 Watch (Spoilerish)

Let's check in with the ladies again, shall we?

Okay, that's insane.

Kim single handedly destroys the maxim that women over 35 shouldn't wear mini-skirts, Cynthia looks great, we saw SJP's look before, and Kristin looks awful.

She's definitely still rocking the bod and she's got nothing to be embarrassed about, but this look strikes us a little cheap and desperate for Samantha.

Pat Field keeps returning to the same style and silhouette for Miranda but we can't deny this looks great on her. Like we said before, she spent years dressing her in ugly and unflattering outfits so we can't complain too much if she's returning to the same well too many times.

Honestly? We think this is awful, which is strange because Charlotte was the one character Field always dressed perfectly. Granted, Charlotte's not hard to dress because her character basically wore that Park Avenue Princess uniform unceasingly. Field also has a tendency to either go insanely clashy-clash or insanely matchy-match. We'll take the former over the latter. It's just not that interesting when a woman's dress, bag and shoes are all the same color.

Alright, scroll down and have fun with all the details. That's about all we've got to say.

i covet charlotte's pink bag.

I would rather see Kim than Sharon Stone swinging those silicone globs anyday.

ugh on charlotte's outfit, but j'adore the pink lady dior!

In general I like high heels and platform pumps, but looking at the fourth last pic, I think these are just too much. I don't know how to describe it. It seems to make their legs look shorter or like they have something really odd going on. (I mean the shoes are pretty, but the look with the short dresses seems really off.)

The shoes are all beautiful when the ladies are standing still. But when Miranda is walking, she looks like a stilt walker on the first day of clown school.

The pink suit is way too short waisted. And ugly. Nice shoes, though.

The rest look great.

too many cats

About Charlotte's shoes and the length of her feet:
Is she wearing additional lifts at the front of the shoes? To me (with short feet) it looks as if her feet are too short to begin to fill/ fit in the six inch (exag)heels that her own heels are resting on.

SJP photographs boney and veiny and sinew-y, doesn't she?

- SJP looks fantastic here.
- I want to BE Cynthia Nixon in this outfit (how she wears this color so well, I have no idea).
- Charlotte's shoes are intense.
- I LOVE Kim Cattrall's hair like this.

I don't know. Both SJP's and Nixon's outfits are terribly unflattering at the busts, Davis has bullet nipples, and what is UP with the testicular-sized cutouts in Cattrall's dress? Not loving these.

the maxim that women over 35 shouldn't wear mini-skirts

Huh? I'm 35 and nobody told me! Should I cut my hair short too? Trade in my sexy bras and thongs for cross-your-hearts and granny panties? I'll get on my doily knitting now...

(Is it me or are their heels gaining 1/2" every time we see them?)

I taste Pepto Bismal.

I love those shoes but they sure look awkward in motion....

Cynthia looks great =D I love her looks!

Why is SJP hamming it up so much? Or maybe it's the photos....probably different when it's on screen. I hope so.

Still love the white dress though!

Awful pink outfit on Kristin. Plus she looks....pretty cranky....

LOVE the pink bag. But with a different outfit. I like both the skirt and the jacket but not together. TOO much pink.

Kim.....she has an amazing body but I really can't say that I love her look here. What's with the one finger salute? Not loving that shot but I guess I gotta see it in context =D

No, but you probably shouldn't be dressed like a desperate Carrie.

I'm not impressed. I think they all look way too made up and not in a good way.

Charlotte looks horrible.

Sorry, Miranda's shoes are hideous, the platforms included in the shoe look clumsy and orthopedic.

Kim Catrall looks amazing, not even taking her age into account. Def. an inspiration to stay in shape through the life.

I wonder if Kim and SJP still hate each other.

And I remember Hedda Lettuce referring to Kristin as a certain word that rhymes with hunt.

How do they walk in those things?!?

Attention New Yorkers: We have a reputation for being too cool to notice the famous people around us and for walking right on by when we see them on the sidewalk. You are RUINING this by showing up as a frenzied mob when the SATC girls are out in costume. You can sit in the theater and gripe about how the city isn't 'really' like that and gush about the costumes after you buy your $13 movie ticket in a few months. Until then, be cool - please.

Those super-high heels just look foolish on Cynthia Nixon. She NEVER looks like she is walking naturally in heels. Why can't they have just one character who wears human shoes?

Kim Catrall can wear whatever the hell she wants -- Good Lord! the body!

"It's just not that interesting when a woman's dress, bag and shoes are all the same color."

Don't forget the matching lipstick. Ugh.

Not loving Kim's dress. The low cut neckline makes her boobs look a teensy bit saggy, and cut-outs always look cheap.

My girlcrush on Cynthia Nixon continues to grow. She looks amazing in a color that would make anyone else look like they were going into liver failure.

SJP looks good in her SJP way.

Kristen? Blech. Just, blech.

Blech to the suit, yes, but I think the bag and the shoes are cute. Just not with that suit! Of course nothing goes with that suit, except perhaps lighter fluid and a lit match, but only in a well-ventilated area safely removed from children and pets.

Agree that Kim herself looks great, particularly her hair, but the dress looks very chip.

I'm not loving Cynthia's look as much as everyone else. Her hair is too brassy (or something, I can't find the word I'm looking for), and her shoes make her feet look like hooves.

SJP? I think the dress is just a little bit too short but she's SJP and she looks happy and I like that.

Kim's outfit wouldn't be bad if the cutouts weren't on the dress.

Kristin's shoes are nice, but the ruffle on the top and the matchy matchy bag need to go.

Elizabeth said, "Attention New Yorkers: We have a reputation for being too cool to notice the famous people around us and for walking right on by when we see them on the sidewalk. You are RUINING this by showing up as a frenzied mob when the SATC girls are out in costume."

It's simple, Elizabeth: those are all tourists.

So it looks like Charlotte is hauling around huge rocks on her wedding ring finger, but it looks like SJP's character doesn't have a wedding ring on.

Did she and Big exchange rings at their teeny wedding? I thought that she had one at least. I wonder what that means for the fabled marriage.

Yes, blech to the pink suit. So unnecessary.

Samantha dress--yes, Kim can pull it off, and Samantha might. . . but should she? No.

The yellow dress is more in keeping with the Miranda character than the dress from the other day. Except the split shoulders. Also blech.

not an SATC fan at all, but i always have an opinion.

WHAT THE HELL is with those weird under-boob cut-outs on Kim Cattrall's dress? cut-outs are a bad idea anytime, anywhere (if they are cut out to reveal skin, anyway), and these underboob things are just ... awkward and bizarre and hideous.

yikes.

Ugh, I am so sick of platform heels. Cynthia Nixon's shoes look like they have goiter.

With the exception of the shoes, there is nothing here clotheswise that hasn't been seen at very average stores, too many times in the last 20 years.

Kristen's pink outfit looks like it was purchased at Talbots.

Carrie's white dress looks very cheap...like heavy t-shirt material.

Amanda's purse and dress colors are too close, but not close enough and they really look bad together. She always looks like she is recovering from being caught in a downpour of rain.

Kim needs a bra or the dress needs an underwire. That is a bit too much droop. And the dress just looks like a cheap Herve Leger knockoff.

While the shoes are the newest for the most part, Kim's are REALLY tacky and belong on some 60 year old cocktail waitress in Atlantic City.

Cynthia's are just hideous. bad color, cloddy and clumsey looking; and Cynthia is not exactly a graceful swan to start with.

I REALLY LOVE SHOES. And I refuse to admit how many pairs I own. But I think the time has come for women to take off the stilts. We have soared to the heavens and had our moment of "Art" for the feet, but the ability to walk is sorely overlooked in the design. And I do mean SORELY.

Plus, there is really something obscene about paying $1,100 and more for a pair of SHOES. And these are extremely trendy shoes. It is not like they are a pair of aligator loafers that are timeless. These shoes will be forever identified with early 21st century style.

I think all of these women look very average. And average isn't all that interesting.

I imagine they're all headed to the podiatrist's office. Lordy.

I always just adored Charlotte's look, it was always so spot on and never too much (unlike Carrie and Samantha at times), but this? Awful. Charlotte would know better. Looks like Chairman of the Board Barbie from 1987.

that dress Kim has on would come in handy if nursing a baby...

Kristen's pink outfit looks like it was purchased at Talbots.

Talbot's ain't cheap! That's a compliment!

OK, I am feeling a cranky moment coming on.

I find it hard to get excited about any of these women or clothes, some vapid middle-aged women trying to look like they are still in their late 20s. And I am their age, so I am not being pissy that "old broads" are trying to look my age.

And the crowds!!! Don't people have anything better to do than to stand around and wait for a glimpse of some overexposed anorexic celebrity?? This makes me ashamed to be a NYer - there are lots of people who need help, animals too, I think Americans need to volunteer more and stop obsessing and chasing some overpriced, undereducated bimbos.

Think I am cranky today???

I was SO waiting for you guys to comment on Charlotte's outfit. It is just AWFUL! She looks chubby and as if she had fallen into a pepto-bismol pool.

Overall, I think Pat is losing her touch.

TWC: "it looks like SJP's character doesn't have a wedding ring on. "

In one of the pictures it looks like there's a simple gold band on the finger in question. Oh, and in the post from the other day, the one where she's dressed like Ellie Mae, she's wearing a band.

Yes - they look the most comfortable by far - but Kim's shoes look like high end Candies.

Oof, Kristen's suit is Barbie goes to the office circa 1993

I actually think Kim's dress looks great with one beef - it IS too short. That isn't the maxim talking, it's the pictures. That dress would simply look better knee-length.

Agree with the poster who thought Kim's shoes look like Candies - they might be! How much better to go with a fab and classy nude shoe like a Louboutin prive in that nude patent leather or suede? I know, soooooo 2008 but the right idea...these shoes make the outfit look cheap...

HATE Kristin in that pepto-bismol pink, love the CB shoes and the bag tho.

Cynthia looks fantastic - great look for her.

Yes, SJP we've seen, still looks great.

Maybe it's the lighting but SJP's hands look TERRIBLE, more like claws.

Carrie & Miranda look great. I like Charlotte's bag but her hips/bum look much wider than I know they are in that skirt. Samantha IS classier than that Hot Topics stripper wear. She's got the bod for it but looks chip in a chip way.

Honestly, I don't know how much more plot they can wring outta these gals....

(using character's names since they're in character/simplicity!)
yes, samantha's shoes make the whole thing look cheap, moreso than the cutouts. and whoever mentioned "silicone"... uh, where?

miranda's shoes are ridiculous. i love a great hidden platform, but god, that is NOT hidden.

carrie looks gorgeous in this.
samantha... ugh. the bag's great, but the suit is just too much. i don't care if it's dior. (it appears to be head to toe dior. not, uh, talbots.)

Cannot wait for the platform toe area trend to go away! Except for strippers, where they rightfully belong.

bitchybitchybitchy

Well, my hat is off to Kim for having that body, and being able to wear that dress-although it is a tad obvious, even for Samantha.

That is such a frumpy look for Charlotte, and way too much pink going on

It never ceases to amaze me how good redheads look in mustard yellow, a color, that by all rights, should never look good on anyone.

I hate Kristen's outfit but i'm loving the shoes.

Candies and peplums and platforms--oh my! It's the hideous Eighties returned to life! Me no likey!!!

i'm not dorothy gale

Oh come ON.

Of course Kim Cattrell looks "wonderful". She spends a whole lot of time and money getting that way. To act as though women over 35 look "OLD" and she has somehow managed to thwart age by sheer force of will is positively silly.

"Elizabeth said: Attention New Yorkers: We have a reputation for being too cool to notice the famous people around us and for walking right on by when we see them on the sidewalk. You are RUINING this by showing up as a frenzied mob when the SATC girls are out in costume.:

HELLOOO!!!

Those people have GOT to be tourists or btc. Who acts like that? And what the hell happened? When the show was in production, they used to be filming all over town, all the time, and were largely invisible. They blended right in to the neighborhood - like REAL New Yorkers.

And the sad thing is, what made this fabulous franchise jump the shark is they went down market & started writing for the kind of knuckleheads who would stand around and gawk at them on the sidewalk.

Sheesh! Isn't there a more interesting crime scene somewhere?

--GothamTomato

Those shoes are ridiculous. When are women going to stop going in for self-foot-binding?

I dunno, I think Field got it right with Charlotte - she's taking her from Park Avenue Princess to Park Avenue Matron, complete with the Kelly style bag.

Those shoes are ridiculous. When are women going to stop going in for self-foot-binding?

Today. I used to make fun of my mom for wearing flats all the time, but I'll be damned if I ruin the pleasure and eco-friendliness of walking by making myself suffer.

Sheesh! Isn't there a more interesting crime scene somewhere?

--GothamTomato

Come to my city. We kill deer...

oh, and an occasional cop or five.

Ha! Appears that Brooklyn Bomber and Gotham Tomato are just as disgusted with the crazy SATC stalkers. Maybe we could explain to the visitors that New Yorkers do NOT gawk at the movie stars.

I think the difference between filming the tv show without much notice and the craziness surrounding the movie might be attributed to the internet (or like Gotham Tomato said, just jumping the shark in general). Read the comments on OLV and it appears that people all over the country are coming to NYC JUST to stalk this movie production.

I'm happy just to see the set photos posted by TLo and to just laugh at how quickly one would destroy an $800 pair of heels by running around the streets of Manhattan. Of course I still want them, but there would be tears when the heels are torn to bits after one day out.

Pat Fields can't dress anyone over 30. I thought SATC would have some interesting things to say about aging gracefully and stylishly....

but no. We get Forever 21, just a bit glammed up with 5" heels. Who dresses like this for real?

I like what Cynthia Nixon is wearing but that's about it. Not impressed.

Oh, by the way, thank you for these updates, guys.

I was wondering where the pink peplum suit my Grandmother wore to my wedding ended up. Pat Field's studio and now worn by Kristen!!
I hate Kim's dress, and I don't care what age she is, she could be 19 and still look crappy in that dress. Anything with cutouts is fug.
We saw SJP's dress in a past article, right? Somehow she looked much better in that post.
Her arms and hands look like those of a 90 year old.
I think Cynthia looks great. I love that dress. IMHO she is the only one that looks put together and comfortable (other than those shoes), which brings me to another point:
All the torturous shoes have to go.
Enough of platforms, they have gotten boring and overdone.

Everyone except Cynthia looks horrible

Kim looks like a prostitute

Kristen's pointy pink nipples are scary

Love the girls but these clothes are ugly.

I like Charlotte's bag and ring :)

I covet everything about Miranda's outfit. Even the hair! I've always been a sucker for redheads. :)

Her nude platform pumps? TO DIE.

TLo said...

Really? Well, if that's cheap & desperate, count me in for the blue light special!

I'm 44 & (an extremely hot) 25 year old asked me for my digits yesterday.
I don't look half as good as KC.
Rock on, gorgeous!
Wear whatever you want!

She & SJP are the only 1's looking great to me. CN who usually looks flawless, appears as though her feet are committing suicide & she's wearing something close to a short, shiny burka; KD seems to be rocking something I had in the same color during the Dynasty era made from a Nolan Miller pattern.

Regardless of the fashion, which does leave something to be desired, these not so young ladies are hot and are showing Hollywood that females of a certain age can bring in audiences. Sex in the City can do no wrong in my book.

Kristin, btw, is wearing a reconstructed bridesmaid dress from my sister in law's wedding.

: Attention New Yorkers: We have a reputation for being too cool

Among yourselves.
The reputation that NY'er have OUTSIDE of NY is that THEY THINK that they are "too cool" - not that they are. (Not the people who posted that are NY'ers)

Just keeping it real.

edinamonsoon

Kristin's pink look is dreadful, but the purse rocks. It seems that her character is typically dressed last --- like maybe they've run out of ideas or they resort to the old Park Avenue ladies who lunch standbys. I'd love to see her mix it up a bit, or throw in a bit of irony every now and then. But then again, I guess it's the whole point of having a group of "unique" women friends? Anyway, Miranda looks amazing! And Kim is a goddess in that LBD. I don't care if it does look cheap or desperate --- the woman looks fabulous, as they say, "...for her age."

What's 'OLV'?

--GothamTomato

Peplum.

The ruffled finish on the bottom of a jacket.

Popular in the 40's with a come-back in the 80's (the mass producers in sweatshops could never get the gathers just-so...)

Her jacket looks about 1 inch too short. The peplum should start at the natural waistline.

From a distance, the pin-tuck pleats are cute but up close, they just cheapen the overall effect.

But the biggest problem is it's just
too
much
pink.

And she needs some of that nip tape that Rachel Zoe has in her kit.

Whoever said that KC's boobs were "saggy"... Please. She looks amazing. We are just all too used to seeing fake ones. And Cynthia Nixon. I agree she looks good but she really needs some posture lessons.

Those shoes are pretty fetishy - except for Samantha's which is sort of strange considering she's the only character who would actually have fetishy sex.

Miss Heather

I wonder if this is another flashback sequence. Kim's and Kristin's outfits (possibly excepting their shoes) both look very late 80s/early 90s.

In any case, let's hope the deeply unflattering early 90s look is NOT returning.

All shoes are horrifying.

What's 'OLV'?

Okay don't say I didn't warn you! If you want to go stalk the stars of SATC2 in person, check out the website "On Location Vacations" (google for it). The site is updated constantly with filming locations for this movie and other productions like Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl. They also post lots of photos taken by fans at the sets though the photos are often from deep in the crowd and not like the professional closeups we're seeing on TLo.

On a related note, did everyone see the outfits from the SATC2 filming today? Hello 80s Flashback!

While the color works for her everything else about Cynthia's dress is horrible. It doesn't fit well and is pulling up in front. It looks like the sort of lumpy, misshapen thing that Nina would blast on PR. And her shoes are beyond ridiculous. Ugly and uncomfortable-looking. Not loving her brassy hair color, either. OUT.

SJP - the dress is a couple of inches too short and is a little cheap looking but it's a good look for her. The shoes are much nicer than Cynthia's but the heels are too high - she looks like she's en pointe. IN, with some quibbles.

Kim - Yes, the dress and shoes look a bit cheap but come on - it's Samantha! She looks amazing. IN.

Kristen - Great bag and (too high) shoes but is that suit for real? Seriously? WTF.....OUT.

Let's leave the 5-inch platforms to strippers and porn stars. SO sick of them.

I think the all dresses look like they came from K-Mart. And for the life of me I cannot fathom how anyone can think that shoes that make a woman look like a heifer in stilettos are attractive.

When I got married in 1988 my "going away" dress looked excatly like Charlotte's pink suit! UUUGGGGGHHHH to both.

"Elizabeth said: If you want to go stalk the stars of SATC2 in person, check out the website "On Location Vacations""

I don't want to stalk any movie sets ( I usually try to avoid them). I was just wondering what 'OLV' meant.

I never knew anything like that existed, but that explains who those goobers are mobbing the set. As I thought: Tourists.

--GothamTomato

I think SJP looks the best of the lot. What a switch to have her be the most tastefully dressed!

I remember Samantha always dressing sexy, but classy and expensive-looking, and not excessively skin-baring. This does not seem to be characteristic of her character. BTW I am about her age and have about as good a body--better legs, though. I spend zero time working out and eat a lot of junk. (I'm not saying this is true of her, but some people just do age better than others and don't necessarily have to "work hard at it". And I'm not saying my face looks as good. lol)

Miranda's dress is too shapeless. She has a nice body and this does not showcase or flatter it in any way. And the shoes are ugly and not her. She does look good in that color.

The pink suit is something that Charlotte would never wear, imo. She had her own distinct style and was not a fashion victim a la Carrie. It also does not do anything for her terrific body.

The basic problem I have with all of these looks is that they are so contradictory to the characters' aesthetics and personalities. Also, they don't do anything for their bodies, but that's normal for Patricia Fields (usually confined to Carrie, however).

I don't think it's an '80s flashback. The shoes are wrong and there aren't enough shoulder pads. That mustard color was popular in the late '80s though.

Samantha's dress sports boob slings where a bodice should be,and does Kim's body no favors. Her character could have some allure if she weren't coming off as some aging cougar type.

Miranda could work the shoes with better posture - stop slumping!
Charlotte's outfit is hideous, and Carrie also looks like she's trying too hard to prove something.

These looks are really stale. I hope Pat Field can pull together something more fresh for these actresses.

What terrible thing could Kristen Davis have possible done to Pat Field that would make her dress her in THAT?

I actually like Charlotte's outfit if it was in a different color.

Kim looks like a hooker, not loving her look at all. I mean, we know she's a "party girl" but she doesn't have to dress like one.

Sweet Holy Mother of Baby Jesus!
Is this the best this so called top stylist Field can come up with?
Shoes that are beyond elegant in height (or to high for foot size, look at those wonky calf muscles, ill-fitting (patches, soldier-at-ease-stance with legs apart to prevent serious foot damage or toppling over, groooss)
a tshirtdress with a sagboob, and no underwear; a pink abomination without the tittydarts ironed flat (Mr Gunn would be LIVID), a mustard sheet, and the matching top to Demi Moore's biking shorts.
Lord have mercy.
And SJP's hands look scarier than Madonna's. I wonder if she has a standin (handin? - sorry) for closeups. no wonder she doesn't get that ring.

At least they seem to have fun, laughing their nuts off b/c of all the cash they earn with this dressup game.

Thanks TLo :D

Have I been hitting the crack pipe too hard this mornimng or does Kim Catrell really resemble Madonna with a breast reduction in these pictures?

How could you not LOVE the crazy 80s flashbacks they're putting into the movie? Take away Carrie's crazy hair and it would almost look like her regular Pat Field wardrobe...
