Project Runway Event

Darlings, we were very sad last night.

Why were we sad? Because Marie Claire & Lifetime threw a little party to celebrate Season 6 of Project Runway at the Hearst Tower in New York City and due to a combination of us being freelancers who can't say no to a paying job (hence we had work projects sitting on our desks), and a minor family medical issue, we had to stay home and snipe at each other.

But, we couldn't let this party pass without our presence being felt, so we phoned Minion #1, Gotham Tomato, and like the Fairy Godfathers we are, hooked her up with a head-to-toe outfit from Emmett McCarthy, gave her an invitation, and told her to take her camera. Because of her tireless efforts (and pushy New Yorker attitude) she managed to get pictures of just about everyone. As the pictures came over email while we were watching the show, we wept tears of bitchiness.

We weren't there, so we'll let GT tell the tale. All of her comments are in blue and ours are in our normal bitchy black. We left a lot of GT's comments out because they didn't go with the pictures, but hopefully she'll show up in the comments section to regale us.

"The event was held on the 2nd floor mezzanine of the Hearst Tower (a great space). There was a little step & repeat red carpet with press. And then there was a section where the cocktail party was. Great hors d'oeuvres, by the way. All the designers, models, Marie Claire Editors, even Miss Nina herself (who btw, is very petite), were mingling at the cocktail party after doing their press duty at the red carpet. After about 90 minutes, they called everyone into the theatre for the screening."

Althea and Louise

Ari Fish - YOW!

Carol-Hannah. Logan, Mitchell

Chris and Daniel Vosovic

"Saw Chris walking in to the cocktail party and approached him and asked if I could take his picture for T Lo's blog. He said, 'Yes, but don't you want his picture too?' (pointing to the guy next to him: It was Daniel V.) I hadn't recognized him! I apologized profusely for not recognizing him; saying, 'I'm so sorry, I feel so bad I didn't recognized you!' And he said 'Why? No, don't feel bad' He said that's why he wore his hair combed back, so no one would recognize him. I said, 'It worked!'"

Daniel was there to receive his check for winning the All-Star challenge. By the way, we'll be posting our interview with Daniel and his spring 2010 collection preview very soon.

"Some of this season's winning designs were in display at the party, and Marie Claire interns were right next to them, standing guard, not taking their eyes off them (like they were the Secret Service), especially when people approached and were posing for pictures with them."

Epperson and Irina

Gordana

"Gordana was leaving the Red Carpet, just as Nicolas was arriving. She gave him a hug & I heard her whisper to him, 'I told People Magazine that I'd like to wear your designs."

Irina and Gordana

Joanna Coles
Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire

La Nina

"As I was mingling, asking all the designers, models and editors if I could take their picture for the Project Rungay blog, I found that every single one reads it. Marie Claire editor Joanna said, 'It's hilarious!' When I photographed Nina Garcia I asked her if she reads it and she said, 'Yes, I do!'

We've heard too many major magazine editors praise us to be coy or even classy about it: LADIES: WE WORK CHEAP.

How kind of you fairy godmothers!

Great photeaux, GothamTomato! (I always enjoy your comments too.)

Random- I am amused to note that in La Nina's shot, one eye looks red and one looks blue.

Is it just me or does Christopher look like he's trying out to be Duckie?

Gotham, I always assumed you were TLo minion #1. That title couldn't go to a more deserving person!

Nice job! Great photos.

Thanks, GT!

GT, I'm so jealous! Great photos! That dress did no favors to Gordana's legs, though.

Ra'mon's surfer avant-garde winning dress doesn't improve with subsequent views, BTW.

Did Danny gain a little weight?

Because if so, its very becoming.

And I don't care what any of y'all say, Q was rocking that dress and that 'do! And she knows it! You can't tell her anything!

Go on, PLUS-SEXY!

PS - can we see the fabulous you in your fabulous Emmett McCarthy togs?

Ooh, lucky GT!

Thank you so much for the photos.

Gordana's daughter is lovely. I wonder if mom made her dress?

And, TLo, I am not at all surprised that everyone reads your blog - it's the best.

I literally screamed "Oh My Gawd" at my computer monitor when I saw the a smiling Qristyl beaming while draped and belted with shiny blue fabric. Somewhere there is plus size smurfette wondering where her evening gown is.

OMG, that was a lot of blue fabric Qristyl!!!! That ain't "plus sexy", that is "plus OMG!!!"

ARI!!!!!!!!

um, yeah, okay...............

Oh, GT, thankyouthankyouthankyou!!

Great job both with photos AND commentary! Please share more!! your acolytes are wanting ALL the details & dish!

BTW, and no disrespect to Qristyl, who I did like while she was on the show, but that dress she's wearing - OWWW! My eyes hurt looking at it.

srq

I am relieved that Ari went first!

If the winning dresses are there - I wonder how long the purchasers have to wait to get them?

Qristyl looks like Missy Elliott, no? And Emarie looks much prettier at this event! It's the hair and the lips I think?

No picture of Gotham Tomato in her McCarthy finery? I feel cheated!

And what is Gordana wearing? She looks fierce.

I literaly gasped when I saw the picture of Qristyl.

I blame it on the tequila.

Girl, you go out and rock that party!

Congrats & thanks to Gotham for stepping up.

Impressions:
Ari - give it a rest, you're not lady Gaga
Qristyl - good color, hate the bottom of that dress and the too small/matchy matchy wrap.
Althea - you need a haircut. Lose about 4 inches and you'll look 5 years younger.

First, I have to thank Tlo for hooking me up with a ticket. And thanks & much gratitude to Emmett as well. I felt like Cinderella wearing one of his dresses (in purple too, my favorite color!) If you've never shop at his boutique down on Elizabeth Street, you must! The dresses are to die for - simply beautiful and flattering.

When they called everyone into the threatre I was near the entrance. I was one of the first in, so I went down to the 4th row. Directly in front of me were 2 reserved seats for Harvey Weinstein.

Most everyone was seated when Epperson came in, and when they saw him they all gave him shout-outs and cheers. All the designers were sitting in rows 2 through 5, so I was sitting right in the middle of them all.

Harvey Weinstein was one of the last to arrive. He had 2 reserved seats but left one empty. Sitting on the other side of his empty seat was Qristyl. When he sat down, there was a pause, and then she said 'hello Mr. Weinstein'. I wondered whether she was wonder whether to say Hi. (I used to be in a show and know how intimidating producers can be to cast members.) There was a pause before he responded, and then he said to her, 'You're great, you know you are.' They chatted a bit and she was saying to him how much she enjoyed being on the show.

The program started with remarks by Marie Claire editor, Joanna (who is quite the stand up comedian). She started by saying she was holding tight to the mike because she heard Kanye West was in the building, then went on to make a few more jokes including one about feeding crumbs to supermodels (I wish I could remember exactly what she said). She was followed by the Pres of Lifetime who said that it was the highest rated season ever. Each episode has been viewed by an average of 33 million people. She also said she's wearing Epperson's Red Carpet dress to the Emmy's.

Because he was sitting directly in front of me, when Weinstein took out his speech & was holding it out to go over it, I could see it over his shoulder (big letters) as he was going over it. It started with, 'Hello, my name is Harvey Weinstein'. During his speech he made a joke about Jeff Zucker being his valet, then (maybe) caught himself and said, 'I guess that'll be the headline tomorrow.' He went on to talk about how great it was being with Lifetime, and that he knew it would be from his first meeting when their Pres told him that they would bring in Bravo's audience as well as Lifetime's audience. He said he liked her enthusiasm. He also thanked the models for the drama, saying that he had proposed the model show 'to another network' but that they weren't interested.

To be continued...
--GothamTomato

...Daniel received his $100,000 check from the AllStar Challenge. Didn't make a speech, but as he was leaving the stage did say to watch for his show in February (I'm assuming he meant Fashion Week).

As for the screening: It was so much fun watching the show on the big movie screen with all the designers in the room & gave me a very different perspective. When they showed the re-cap of last week's show, and got to the part where Qristyl was Auf'd, she got shout-outs, pats on the back and supportive cheers (lots of Yay Qristyl!).

During the episode, there was lots of ooooohh-ing, hooting, shout outs & big laughing from all the designers during all of the trash talking confessional comments and close-up reaction shots. Lots of laughing. The rest of the audience behind us seemed pretty quiet - all the reactions were coming from the designers (or maybe the rest of the audience was just drowned out). It started with the opening credits, and by the time it got to Christopher's line, he yelled it out in unison with his on-screen self, and got a big laugh. They all seemed to get a kick out of it all. The only designer who did not get that response was Johnny (the only designer who wasn't there). At some point, when he was on-screen complaining, someone yelled, 'go home!'

During the part of the episode where the designers were exiting the runway, each one got a round of applause from the full audience.

I could kick myself now for not asking them afterwards about what it was like to watch on the big screen. And I should have because I had the opportunity (Christopher even said to me, 'is there anything you need to ask me?' He had said he checks your blog 4 times a day The only person I'd asked was Nicholas, who said he'd been watching it at home and it was totally different & fun watching it altogether with everyone.

I was sitting there in the theatre thinking, 'G-d! I so wish I had an iPhone because THIS would be the place to be twittering from!'

Malvin looks like Edward Scissorhands.

Oh, Gotham did good. I would have loved a pic in her magic outfit ...

Yall are such good fairy Godmothers!

Hope everyone is well and you should try to finagle something for the season finale!

And, yes, ladies, throw TLO some bones and some work ... They are the hardest working gurlz on the street ... I mean blogoshpere... these days.

Just sayin-

"Gorgeous Things said: PS - can we see the fabulous you in your fabulous Emmett McCarthy togs?"

Sorry, I'm like a vampire. I don't show up on film.

But another thing I forgot to add: When I was talking to Jordana, I asked her about last week, when Tlo refered to her & Nicholas as 'Team Russia', saying some people thought she might be offended and asked her if she was. She said, 'Oh, god no! I'm too easy-going for that! It was fine.'

--GothamTomato

Great pictures, GT :).

I looked at all the pictures. I never thought Logan was all that. I never liked men with long hair. But I would SO hit that (if I thought I could get it) because, good great googly moogly, Logan looks fantastic with his hair longer.

Fanning myself and off to take a cold shower...

(Great recap & pics GT!)

Gordona's dress was beautiful but too short for a woman her age, in my opinion. She has a great figure but add an inch or 3 to that hem and she would have looked amazing. She is in her 40s.

As a fully-converted Gordana fan, I faithfully disagree.

Feather princess is into the short, tight and shiny, and I think the Serbian Cougar is pulling it off quite nicely.

I am so fucking jealous right now!!!!! Awesome!!! Good for you GT and thank you for doing this for one of your minions, TLo! You guys rock!!!!

Positively WRITHING with jealousy here. Seriously though, thank you so much for sharing these with us!

Love the color of Qristyl's dress, personally, and looking at La Nina - are bi-colored eyes the latest trend? Much better than those ridiculous bunny ears, I have to say.

I've said it before, but it's always nice to learn that a lot of the designers read TLo's site and get so much amusement from it!

Thanks GT and TLo.

What is up with Ra'mon's Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat hair?

"Gorgeous Things said: GT, I'm so jealous! Great photos! That dress did no favors to Gordana's legs, though."

That's just because of camera angle: The wide angle tilted down is distorting.

I had to grab pictures quickly. I asked everyone for permission before photographing them, but didn't want to take their time by arranging them or anything.

Hi Season 6 Designers!!!! Hi Nina, Hi Harvey! Hi y'all!

Johnny wasn't there? Wow. That kind of says a lot about him, doesn't it?

GT, glad you had a great time.

So did Lifetime fly the whole group to NYC or do many of them already live there? It was nice that Lifetime and Weinstein show some love to NYC during Fashion Week. And maybe give a little more industry exposure to the forgotten designers of the lost season.

Great pictures! Daniel looks like Adrien Brody in these *drool*.

Logan is in a suit. A suit! So weird. Though the all-black seems his style.

Wow, CH looks so much better with her hair like that than she does on the show. I was just saying last night I would love to give her a makeover--she's so cute, but her workroom hair just looked all wrong for her! I'm assuming the stress of the show isn't good for anyone's beauty routine, though...

Speaking of hair, Q's looks awesome, and Ra'mon's looks... er. Odd. We'll go with odd.

What on earth is Malvin wearing?

I don't see Johnny in any of those pics.

they shout out when epperson came..and the someone will wear eppersons's in the emmys... i think epperson will win this season...

I'm Jealous.com.

If there's ever an opportunity in TOronto, Ontario for this type of thing, kit ME out and I'll mingle! Really!

great job GT. how nice it is when you have not one but two fairy godmothers. JEALOUS!

Gotham, Gotham, Gotham - if it couldn't be me I'm glad it was you. You made me feel like I was there.
Technically, I believe we are owed a photo of you, that is the only part of the evening we can't see in our mind's eye.

It's a great little potty dress.

Gordana's got awesome legs, IMO. Thank tons Gotham. Glad we got some vicarious fun!

This is awesome!!! You are one lucky bitch, GT.

TLo, thanks for making sure we still got to see the event, and GTo--- thanks for the amazing photos. Hope you had a fabulous time.

"mjude said: how nice it is when you have not one but two fairy godmothers."

Yes! Every pumpkin should have them!

--GothamTomato

Goodness, this blog is so much fun! Thanks to GT & her fairy godfathers!

The more I see her the more impressed I am by Ms. Garcia - she dresses better (meaning she looks good in the clothes) than most of the models and nearly all of the designers.

Finally GT, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to ogle Daniel V.'s bone structure yet again. I do hope he chooses to pass on his genes some day.

What's funny to me is that I think Ari looks great here. Her outfit is sort of a dressy but goofy style, and the makeup goes along.

BTW - Gotham, did meeting anyone in person change your previously held opinion of them?

I SO enjoyed this - thanks, Gotham! And, TLo, if there's ever a red carpet event you want covered in North Carolina (ha!), I'm your girl...err, plus sexy woman....

9/18/09 11:09 AM Malvin looks like Edward Scissorhands.

THANK YOU!!! I'd been trying to figure out who he looked like...

But where was the fabulous Fatma???

Random thoughts..

When I first read that you couldn't attend the event. I thougt that those cheap bastards didn't send you tickets.

Delighted that you sent Gotham in your place (how kind).

Gotham please at least post a picture of the dress you wore..Please.

Ari and Malvin would make a cute couple.

I hope nothing is wrong with Johnny, that he didn;t attend. I didn't care for his "character" on the show or his designs , but still...

Wow, did they ask the current crop of designer's to wear only black, white, and gray, or did that just happen? Oh, wait, Qristyl is wearing blue, at least...

Also, I am SO jealous of Gotham Tomato. How do I get on your stand-in list? :)

Logan looks like he came straight from the set of LOTR.

Great pics, tho!

" SusanID said: BTW - Gotham, did meeting anyone in person change your previously held opinion of them?"

No one individual. But like I said, seeing & hearing their reactions to their own confessions LIVE, gave me a different perspective.

At least on the surface, right there, they didn't seem to take it as seriously as we do. It might be different behind closed doors, but there, they all seemed to be friendly & supportive of each other, and find it all entertaining. In some ways, it almost reminded me of a screening of the old interactive classic, 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'.

--GothamTomato

Thank you so much for this! I love the pictures!!!

All the models look great and they're all beautiful, but Vanessa looks gorgeous!

This is so cool!!! I'm so jealous!!!!!

Great pictures, GT. Tlo, you're so good to us, you really are. I am so glad I found this blog.

FANTASTIC!!!!

With regard to their reactions; that little story line about Shirin being noisy, with every close-up that came up on the big screen (of the designers reacting to her), there was a big roar of laughter from the designers.

It was like that throughout the show.

--GothamTomato

GothamTomato Said:

OMG, I couldn't think of a better challenge: Design an Outfit Inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Even if they had several movies and this was one of them, what would be AWESOME.

Louise said she whipped up her dress in something like 5 hours. Not her usual deconstructed look. Me likey!

I love Erica's dress, too, and the way the chiffon pleats cause visual contrast.

Thanks, GT. : )

You know, you always hope these contestants go on with their lives stronger/happier from this exposure.

(my husband says: did they all throw toast at the screen?)

Mitchell looks like baby Andy Cohen and Gordana's daughter ... HOT.

Is Ra'mon turning into a Southern belle?

The higher the hair, the closer to God!

GT, so whose the prettiest amongst the bunch.. logan or christopher?

Wow, GT, awesome job!! And thanks to TLo for sending such a great emissary!!
Now I am going to go back and look at the terrific pics several more times!!
PS: GT, even though you say you take "vampire pics", could you send us a pic of the Emmett dress, at least?? I'm overcome with curiosity!! I love his designs!!!

bitchybitchybitchy

Well how great is that that TLo got Gotham Tomato a ticket to the show, and Emmett McCarthy duds? Tres fabulous, methinks!

Carol Hannah looks so cute in her photo, Logan could definitely work as a elf in the Hobbit with that hair, and Miss Q was definitely doing blue big time!

No invite for Alex! so he could stalk Dr. Whitfield? Those restraining orders are such a drag.

Fabulous insights, GT. And I'm sure it's been so long since all this happened that much of the emotion has dissipated. But it's a shame about "pile on Johnny" behavior. Yes, it seems as if he endeared himself to no one except his model, but something about this whole thing is starting to feel very Mean Girls-ish to me.

One word, "EXCELLENT." And a super-nice way to kick off the weekend.

Thanks, TLo.
Thanks, Gotham.

Yes, GT, please post a link to/picture of the dress you wore. I want to feel even more jealous:)

TLO, could you add a warning in your post that there may be spoilers in comments? Much as I enjoyed Gotham Tomato's remarks, they do seem to give away who the season winner was (as well as one of the not yet aufed losers.)

Great post, guys! Thank you and GT, loving the pictures.

LaFemmeFataleinNY

Color me jealous. It looks like they all had a great time.

Fabulous pictures, Gotham Tomato. Great work.

If they ever hold an event at the Bridgewater Mall or some other north central Jersey bastion of class and culture, and you can't make it, I'm your reporter bitch-in-waiting, Boys.

Great pictures!!

GT, I am so jealous of you right now : ) Thank you for sharing this.

They all look great!

I LOVE QRISTYL!!! GO SUPER SEXY GIRL!!!

Oh, this was fun! GT, I'm sure we don't have to thank you because I'll bet you had a ball, but thanks anyway for the great photos!

Ra'mon, what is up with the Woody Woodpecker 'do????

Daniel V looks very sexy with his slicked-back 'do.

And our girl Spellcheq looks like she's having the time of her life! I wouldn't have guessed she could look so glam!

mll (another lulu)

l'll just add my voice to the Greek chorus.

THANK YOU so much to TLo and Gotham Tomato! You sound like you had a ton of fun. We all appreciate the great photos and insider tidbits. And I really wanna see the gorgeous EMc2 dress too.

And I think it's time I tossed a little bit of paper, err, plastic, at the boys. Today's trifecta of posts are totally terrific.

OH MY GOD Ra'mon's hair? LOL Love it!!!

Thank you Tlo and GT!!! I love all the pictures. Gordana has great legs.

GT, you are so lucky :)

Logan is SO HOT!!!!!!

Ooh I am SO jealous. I don't want to join with the hate on some of the dresses because I know things look very different when photographed without professional lighting. Maybe everyone did look fabulous in person.

GothamTomato: Thanks for your recap in the comments thread! Sounds so awesome. The only unfortunate thing is that I'm sure at such a big event with the producers in attendance the designers can't REALLY share the good gossip from behind the scenes. But just as well, it was nice to hear how supportive they all are with eachother and how much each designer seems to be enjoying this experience.

I love Louise's new haircut and Shirin is tiny. What's with all the chains around Gordana's neck? Ari looks like she just landed from another planet.

This is very cool, I'm glad LifeTime did this for the designers, they didn't get any press for quite a lot time, this is a great payback for them.

God, everybody looks so much better when they're not designer a dress a day and getting no sleep.

" Anonymous said: TLO, could you add a warning in your post that there may be spoilers in comments? Much as I enjoyed Gotham Tomato's remarks, they do seem to give away who the season winner was (as well as one of the not yet aufed losers.)"

Not sure what you're refering too. I saw nothing that indicated the winner.

When Epperson got his greeting, I got the impression it was just them being glad to see him, and some gentle joshing because he was the last to come in, so had to make his entrance in front of a seated crowd.

--GothamTomato

CanIGetYouAnything?

Fabulous!! Great job, GT!

Thank you SO MUCH for this post. I love looking at candid shots of the designers. They're all so beautiful and look so happy :)

I see that Christopher has accessorized for the event. He is so cute, he's my favorite. Funny that he checks PRG like four times a day. They ALL read you guys, that's the truth.

First of all, TLo, I hope everything's okay re the family medical thing.

Second, Gotham--great pictures! I know you're a professional, so I'm not surprised, but still.

Finally [sotto voce,] I have a camera, too, TLo. You know, in case GT is busy or doesn't feel like attending a Project Runway or Fashion Week event. I'm not a pro, like her, but, er, uh, mumble mumble. Just sayin'

OK Kittens,

Here's a picture of the coat and the dress Gotham Tomato wore. She also wore some fabulous piece of jewelry (sorry, no pic of that). The dress is called Sophie and her version of the dress was in a solid royal purple crepe. Heidi has the same coat, she loved it so much, Emmett gave her one as a gift.

After I took that individual shot of her, she said, 'do you want to check to make sure it turned out?' (Which I thought was very nice.) So I brought up the picture on the back of the camera & we looked at it and she said, 'my boobs look huge!'

So I asked her if she wanted my to take another shot, and she said, 'no, that's OK. There's no hiding them.' I laughed and said, 'I know. Trust me, GT. Q was speaking truth about big boobs being overrated. I come from a family of "healthy" women myself. Consider yourself lucky.

But I like that Q isn't ashamed to show what God gave her. She rocks!

I have to say I felt like a million dollars in that dress. The way the silhouette skims the body is perfect for a pear-shaped woman. It made me look at least ten pounds lighter. Without any alterations it hits that perfect spot on the leg that makes them look thinner.

And I'd describe the necklace as a large linked gold-colored chain, doubled.

Wow!

Beautiful!

La Nina clearly understands that the only way this season's gawdawful big honkin' shoes are flattering is to wear them with pants.

Wow, lucky GT! A chance to wear those fabulous clothes and go to the event. Deserving though, based on the great commentary and pictures. Thanks for that!

Is it just me or does Gordana seem to be channeling Heidi a bit?

Fabulous, GT!

Now I heart u even more!!!!

Seein' Malvin & Ari makes me wish they'd stayed a little longer. I liked those two young arty farties.

PS - Gordana is such a sweetie.

Did you get a chance to talk with her daughter, GT?

GASP!! Gorgeous!!! Thank you for making me drool!!!

Oh thank you so much for posting the link to the Sophie dress and the Natalie coat. Just beautiful. I love Emmett.

Daniel should adopt that hair style. He looks incredibly dashing. Have always hated his middle-aged man combover. Why? With hair like that?!

Great job GT, must be nice to be minion #1 he he

CALL ME SEETHING IN CINCINNATI -- GT I am so jealous you're Gal Friday! OK OK I'll begrudge -- you deserve it but yes, you should have included a picture of you at the party -- (I kind of pictured you like Joan from Mad Men) but since the boob reference I'm getting a Laura Linny vibe -- Don't worry it's impossible to stalk you from Cincinnati. Here's my burning question: Does Ra'mon wear colored contacts? ~Gary

Fucking awesome post! Thanks, guys! Thanks, GT!

I said: "...something about this whole thing is starting to feel very Mean Girls-ish to me."

I really didn't get that sense from it.

Shouting "Go home" at the screen doesn't seem mean? It does to me. However, I understand that for reasons I've never figured out, you've never warmed to me here, GT. So be it.

As for the show, the more I think about it, the more I just wonder what is it about Johnny that was never shown or explained? Tim has risen above some extraordinarily provoking behavior before, but he's never lost his cool as he did here. I suppose we can blame it, as always, on the editing but something just doesn't add up to a full story.

Agnes - Ditto. It sounded mean-girl to me. But then again, I am not one.

I REALLY was not a fan of Johnny's the first week - and much of that was a feeling that he got the sympathy vote for his dress.

But he kind of started to make a comeback and earned back some respect.

It doesn't seem - from what we saw on screen - that he did anything to deserve such animosity. He did NOT appear to cheat or sabotage.
(no hidden books/patterns, no cost overruns, no shoe-gate, etc, he didn't trash someone's family member or pic)

And if you were running on fumes and THE mighty mentor told you your outfit was trash - with what sound like only a few hours left, I can see not wanting to say to the judges "tim eviserated my outfit and I broke".

Thank you, Gotham Tomato! Love your comments and your photos :)

Daniel Vosovic's hair saddens me :( where's the awesomeness in that?

mll (another lulu)

I just came back to see if pics of the dress were posted. It's lovely, but......

BONK!! that coat, OMG, the sound of my head hitting my keyboard. I so want it, it's absolutely stunning.

Ari Fish - YOW!

More like ScAri Fish (shudder)

Thanks, Gotham Tomato for the great pics!

Not keen on Gordana's dress (too short) or Qristyl, swathed in blue.

I wonder if Q is a Z-Phi-B.

agnes gooch said, Shouting "Go home" at the screen doesn't seem mean?

GT said that "someone" yelled it. One person being mean doesn't, at least to me, translate into "this whole thing" being "Mean-girlish".

Daniel Vosovic looks FINE!

That's all I have to say.

What a fun evening!

Props to GT! Great photos!!
Boys, I am happy to lend my services in South Florida should you ever need it....although what are the chances of THAT? Its a fashion wasteland down here. (except for Uli of course)

BTW I guess Danny V hates to be recognized. Saw him once in NYC with his hood of his jacket over his head, drawstring pulled tight and sunglasses on, staring down at the ground walking up 6th Ave. Or maybe he was just having a shitty day....

How nice! Good job GT!!!

GT, awesome joy!

and I ...LOOOOOOOVE the dress.

Gotham Tomato is a woman?

Was there any official explanation why Johnny wasn't there?

Well Gotham,

Your Cinderella night couldn't happen to a nicer minion !! Great job on the reporting.

Was there a Tim Gunn conversation ?

Great photo/reporting job. You made us all feel like we were there.

Sewhat?

fashion hippie

what is Emarie wearing??? I love her look! she's gorgeous

Of course it's mean girl-ish. The whole show is led by and centered around the ultimate Mean Girl: Heidi Marblemouth Klum

I was referring not just to the "Go home" shouting, Lilithcat. When I said "this whole thing" was beginning to feel Mean-Girlish, I truly meant the whole thing: the show, its editing, the dialogue on the blogs. To me, it just feels a bit much.

Malvin and Christoper's corner of the group shot looks like a 1991 boy band shot... other than that, with so many desigers in black and grey, the overall aesthetic impression of photos is really cool. Shirin looks gorgeous, amazing dress and lovely hair.

Interesting to note: I ran into one of the designers last night & asked about what it was like for them watching the screening. He said it was funny, and that they were all really nervous. I asked what they were nervous about. He said they were nervous because they didn't know what was going to be said. It was nervous laughter.

I said there was so much laughter, I thought it was because they didn't care about all the confessional comments, and he replied, 'No, we care about every thing that's said.'

So there you have it. Another view.

"Anonymous said: Gotham Tomato is a woman?"

Yes.

Though I do have a friend who insists that I am really a gay man trapped in a woman's body (which I take as a great compliment).

" itsjustme said: Okay, Gotham Tomato. I don't know what you look like, so every time I see your name I'm going to imagine that you are the beautiful blonde photographed in that gorgeous coat and dress"

That works for me.

Here's a picture of the coat and the dress Gotham Tomato wore. She also wore some fabulous piece of jewelry (sorry, no pic of that).

***

Holy crap! Sew two of those together and send it over here for me! So, Gotham, did you get to keep the dress? Not that it's any of my business, of course... that coat is just stunning! You must have felt like a princess!

TLo, if you ever want to send a forty-year old fat woman to blend into the scenery at one of these things, you know who to call!

Remind us again what you really think about tattoos, GT! It's been so long!

Those models are working their 3 seconds of fame like the expiration date for their fame is 1second. I ain't mad atchu.

I didn't like Ari Fish's sense of 'fashion' on the show, but I LOVE her outfit and makeup here. Wish she'd shown that side of her on PR6.

WOW - GT....I'm humbled and jealous and so impressed all at once. Dearie - you have been blessed by the Gods. Great pics and comments.

TLo - Such a wonderful mitzvah, boys! PS - I'm a local Philly girl with a camera always at the ready. Let me know if I can lend a hand....

Happy Monday & last day of summer :-)

Yes, I see Christopher looking like Ducky. And Guy Ritchie. He poses like he isn't posing.

I love Ari, and she looks better with longer hair. I would have liked to see more of her on PR.

Irina! What a look and what a neckline! Wow!

Good to see Chris March, as always!

Daniel V does indeed look like Adrian Brody. But no speech with the acceptance of the $$? C'mon! Show some gratitude!

How is it that I missed reading this post earlier???

GT, STELLAR job! Great pics and commentary. It does not suprise me in the least that you are TLo's #1 Minion, you're always smart n' fabulous!

And for the record, let me reiterate what Miz Plus Sexy and others have already told you: As a genetic recipient of, shall we say, mammarian bounty -- they ARE overrated. Promise!

Hello blog community. I'm Gordana's daughter, Natasha and she made both of our dresses, even the necklace part on hers was a bunch of chains she attached to it. Saw some people who were curious :)
