The T Lo Awards!

Darlings, the T Lo Awards have arrived!

If you haven't heard about it yet, each week on myLifetime.com, we'll be handing out awards in the following categories:

Miss Congeniality: For the bitchiest contestant of the week or for those rare moments when a contestant really is congenial beyond the norm.

Miss Photogenic: For the contestant who looked the most exhausted and harried while on the runway.

The Debating Team Award: For the contestant who argued the most (or the best) with the judges.

Favorite Couple: For any duo that was funny or entertaining or showed great rapport. Alternately, for any duo who just couldn't stop sniping at each other.

The "Insane Crotch" Award: For the garment that left the judges the most slack-jawed in astonishment.

Best Actress: For the model who worked her garment like her life depended on it.

The Heidi: For the garment that was the shortest, tightest or shiniest.

The Lifetime Achievement Award: An award for anyone for anything depending on the episode (and our mood).

You're dying to know who got the gold (plated) statuettes this week, aren't you? Well, head on over there right now to find out!

We're closing the comments section on this post because frankly, we want to encourage you all to show the love to Lifetime by commenting over there. More importantly (to be perfectly mercenary about it), you'll be showing the love to US by making it the most popular PR feature on the site. And make sure you give Alex a round of applause for his hysterical illustrations.

Minions, GO!

EDITED TO ADD: And the comments section isn't working! We talked to the Lifetime peeps and we're assured they're working on it.. It's fixed now.

EDITED AGAIN TO ADD: We're not getting paid a dime for this! Don't make assumptions, now!

Darlings, we're sorry to hear that the comment section at Lifetime isn't working for most of you.

And to reiterate what we've stated a couple other places, we do the T Lo Awards totally for free. Lifetime isn't paying us a thing and they have no say in what's get posted here on the blog.

You're doing that for FREE??? No way!

God bless you girls!

I love your categories! I knew you guys wouldn't disappoint, and I'll comment over at Lifetime as soon as they get things up and running.

Yes, yes. We're doing it for free. Like most bloggers, what we crave more than anything else in the world (aside from money) is ATTENTION. Blogging is the internet equivalent of standing up in the middle of a party and screaming "LOOK AT ME!!"

So in that vein, what did you all think of the T Lo Awards?

I LOVED IT!!!

When I guess if Ari has to get some kind of award - I would have that the Insane without the crotch.

But they were funny.

You girls are such whores! XD

The TLos were fuckin' hilarious! Cheers to you and Alex!

Fabulous, including Alex's illustrations. The Tim Gunn one cracked me up. Keep up the good work, bitches!

As soon as it's working, I'll be posting (as TLoMinion since DuBois was already taken).

Not sure how everyone else feels, but I consider you one of my favorite "subscriptions," and whenever I need to renew a newspaper or magazine, I'll be sharing the love so to speak. Keep up the great work:) I couldn't get through the day without my TLo fix.

You rock, Tlo!

Just get used to the haters, it's going to get worse, you know.

I LOVED THIS! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! it's such a great way to recap and get some extra, short bursts of brilliant snark from you!

i tried to comment on lifetime, but was part of whatever snarl was happening there - so i'm saying my piece here: LOVED the "short tight & shiny" prize. LOVED Alex's illustrations, especially the one for Insane Crotch, and that glorious tim winged-angel-golden-globe award.

I hope Lifetime (or someone) throws a ton of swag your way in lieu of cash payment.

and we are all looking at you adoringly, with big puppydog eyes of devotion.

THANK YOU!!! for all your fabulous hard work)

Loved the Dorothy Zborzak refernce to Mitchell's gown. That really brings up weird images

It's a little odd seeing the Tlo snark on a show website but I salute Lifetime for wanting to make use of you guys. I think it really says a lot how much you guys have become of the PR culture

Frank

Color me VERY disappointed in the Lifetime website. My witty and complimentary comments are wasted over there.

The awards are great, and the cartoons by Alex! are perfect.

Mitchell is on my poo-poo stinky list for his behavior to Yosuzi last week. Watch your step, bitch!

Love it! Go Tlo!!!

Lifetime.com still not taking comments. I'll try again later today.

Please tell me people aren't calling you guys sellouts!! What the heck is wrong with people?? You breathe your lives into this! You deserve any and every wonderful thing that happens to you!

Love the TLo Awards. So funny! The sketches are great too, nice job, Alex!

Congratulations on all your successes!
Marianne:)

Absofuckinglutely!

P. S. I always enjoy reading your comments, Frank!

CanIGetYouAnything?

My dear Tlo,

Jealousy is a many splendorous thing.

Congrats on your success! You guys are one of the reasons why I still watch Project Runway.

They're awesome! Good job, guys.

I tried to post a comment a couple of times with no luck. I'll try again later.

At least tell those Lifetime dudes to give you some goodie bags!

Diamond watches! RayBans! A week for two at a Beverly Hills Spa!

Get something out of this!

Boo Lifetime!

I even filled out their nosy registration form (well, kind of) and no pay off.

What is with these entertainment corporations that they can't set up a functioning web site?

Oh wait - you can't do product placement in a server room . . .

T and Lo,
This blog has been better than the actual show for years. I am delighted that Lifetime has recognized your contribution! And I wish those cheap bastard would start paying you two!

LifeTimeForHomos

The page looks awesome, I love Alex's drawings, the Tlo awards, everything. This is a weekly feature, right?

I tried and I tried to comment, but then I gave up. Good lord you're not getting paid? Why you are as crazy/addle-pated/gloriously addicted to fashion as I thought you were. Please carry-on!

Liked your awards, though I worry - will ANYone ever take that trophy away from Mr. Gunn? Because really, he IS the only mensch on the show, most weeks.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Alex cartoons. I hope you guys get a framed copy of yourselves for Christmas!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I completely agree!
This was so much fun to read and
Alex was fabulous! Best for me
was the Best Actress award for that
poor girl who was paraded with her
"lady bits" (had to use that in a
sentence!) showing. And the TG
lifetime award was just wonderful - bet he wins it every week.
Thanks thanks thanks!!!
I'll be signing up on the Lifetime site as soon as I hear via the TLo grapevine that it is up and running!!
I LOVED the TLo awards!! Lifetime better get with the program and hand you some kind of remuneration for your hard work!! Hmmmm...how about a nice weeklong visit to Canyon Ranch Spa?? You all deserve the best rest possible!!!
Well said Ms Siren.
With all the unfair judging over the years - I would have dropped this off the DVR long ago if not
for this blog.
I don't think I want to share you with the world...
LOVED IT/THEM! great job boys & alex too.
i will also comment once we hear the word. i will say though, i have tried all week to get on their website & today it finally worked!
It's like eating a TLo sundae (complete with Alex as the cherry on top)served in one of grandma's antique crystal bowls, otherwise known as Lifetime.com.
Who doesn't love sundaes?
Anon said "You girls are such whores!"
now, now, they're not whores if they're givin' it away for free!
Bless you, darlings, you KNOW your legion of fans adore you! More for us - even on Lifetime's site - is fantastic ;o)
will post terrific stuff on the Lifetime site as soon as possible so the LTsuits can see they how fortunate they are to have you!
Love you Alex! You're the best!
FOCK! Now I want a sundae!
bitchybitchybitchy
Loved your choice for Best Actress, and shame on Mitchell for trying to foist most of the blame for his near-auf onto Yosuzi.
Mithcell might need to be reminded of Zulema's maxim: you can cut and cry, but you gotta cut...
I LOVE The TLo awards, and I think you should get PAID, dammit!
But, I can see how getting paid might make you pull punches, and we don't want that.
I'm so torn. I want you to be compensated with more than just our praise and undying devotion. What a conundrum.
Keep up the great work, boys. You are beyond amazing. Love, love, love you!
I love your awards. Absolutely spot on! I couldn't help wondering though, if the answer to much of the angst in the world could be resolved with a Tim Gunn hug. I need one today myself.
Gah! I forgot to include my love for Alex and his awesome illustrations. My favorites are the "insane crotch" award and "miss photogenic." Alex, you rock!
Nice to know the problem with posting comments wasn't just MY computer, as I assumed. Here's what I was going to say:
LOVE THESE AWARDS!
Particularly the final award and its illustration. Three cheers for T, Lo and Alex!
Did anyone else think the "debater" in the illustration looked like Kenley? And the Heidi, Nina and Michael were a hoot!
Thanks so much for sharing your wit, TLo, in yet another format. We, your loyal minions, adore you.
Margaret
Congratulations, TLo & Alex!. Very exciting.
xox, BB
The TLo Awards are terrific and I'm so happy to see Alex's illustrations.
Thank you for all of your terrific work. Project Runway wouldn't be the same without you.
Well, harumph! You *should* be getting paid, and Alex too. You provide us joy, art and culture, not to mention traffic to the Lifetime website. Just making things just a little more fabulous every day. I would say the same on the web site, but well...bless their hearts...probably not used to actual commenters. Love the awards, just another reason to anticpate every week with glee. Don't know how you do it.
I can't believe you guys are doing it for free!
The comments section didn't work for me either - I was going to email you but I pulled a Carol Hannah and forgot.
I thought they were good, but I think they might not be as funny to people who don't have the context of having read your website for a long time. Obviously nobody needs context to get why the "Heidi" award for something short, tight and shiny is funny, but I don't think you're going quite far enough with the snark.
I know it's a much bigger audience, but I think you should try not to be afraid to go for the full-on treatment, you know?
It's a VERY limited space to try to get your quite large personalities out in. Don't waste a word. :)
I hope this is reading in the supportive tone I'm thinking it in. I would LOVE it if this succeeded beyond your wildest dreams, truly! But you asked what we thought, and that's what I thought.
Still friends, right?
(Yeah, we're friends. No, really! Well, I'm YOUR friend, you haven't so much heard of me as responded personally to a blog post one time, which in my mind immediately made us BFFs... OMG, I'm pathetic.) :D
ROFL.
Great job, Tlo!
Grrr, what kind of a cut rate site is Lifetime running over there!? I tried to comment, and will try again. It's honestly quite off-putting that after going through that intrusive registration/profile creation process you can't even use the site features. I mean, they even wanted to know my astrological sign! And darlings, the fact that I'm a Libra is something I guard more closely than even my age, OSHI---!!!
Seriously, I loved the awards and the cartoons. You are awesome to be doing this for Lifetime, and for us.
meredithp said, "You *should* be getting paid, and Alex too. You provide us joy, art and culture, not to mention traffic to the Lifetime website."
I agree, but don't forget that we can drop tips in the TLo tipjar directly, or by clicking through and ordering from Zappos, GorgeousFabrics, Sephora, or any of the blog's other page one advertisers. Just sayin'.
LOVE the new TLo awards!
"The Heidi" in particular had me cracking up. "Short, tight and shiny". (The quickest way to look chip)
Alex's cartoons, as always, are brilliant.
So I guess the questions are random. They didn't ask my sign, but they did ask how many kids I have. I don't have any (only feline children), so I'm hoping they don't litter my inbox with those mommy newsletters. Coupons for Petco would be much appreciated, though!
Lulu, they ask about your sign (and much other coffee klatch type information) when you confirm your registration and are setting up your profile. It isn't required data, but I just had to snark about it anyway. ;)
LOVE the TLo Awards! I can't believe you're doing it for free...you spoil us. I've been checking back trying to post comments. I hope Lifetime knows how lucky they are to have you! There are two elements that make Project Runway what it is - Tim Gunn and TLo!
Pastafarian
Love the awards. Just be stingy with that Lifetime Achievement award or it loses all meaning. Frankly, I"m not sure you can put anyone else in the same category as St. Tim of the Divine Hug. OK, Nina maybe when she goes Defcon 5, but that's about it.
"Tlo said: The Lifetime Achievement Award: And the T Lo goes to ... SIR TIM GUNN! How could it be anyone else?"
Too right.
And Sir Tim should get a Nobel Prize as well. And I'd pay money to see him accept it wearing Ari's quilty little Judy Jetson number. After all, that's what it was designed for.
"Sewing Siren said: T and Lo,
I second BOTH emotions.
I, for one, would have stopped watching the show altogether after S3 were it not for this masterful blog.
LOVED IT!
Alex's illustrations were fabulous, too. This is a really well thought-out feature and is incredibly professional-looking.
Loved the snark, as always. I hope Lifetime lets you be as mean and hilarious as you want. I watch Project Runway not only for the wonderful show, but also as a preliminary to the OUTSTANDING commentary and screen caps from you guys.
I'll go to Lifetime's website because of YOU and then noodle around after I've gotten my fix. It's clear that they're already picking up on how much we crave anything Project Runway and are going overboard fixing up the site to bring it up to snuff in the "feed the fanatics" department. It's rapidly looking less and less -- if you'll pardon the phrase -- "home sewn" and more professional by the minute. I'd bet a year's salary that they'll eventually start adding more in-depth fan support features for other shows as well.
And Lifetime's enthusiastic responsiveness is working, too. I'm so sick of "Screaming Housewives of ..." that I'm now going to Lifetime's tv channel more and discovering their many gently funny, mentally healthy shows.
The only nit I have is that some of the PR stuff is on Mylifetime.com and the rest is on the separate Projectrunway.com. Some of the stuff is hard to get to because it's layers down rather than right on the first menu. For example, I have yet to be able to access the Project Runway All-stars episode by just going to their web site. I have to get it from the link on BPR. Hopefully, these two sites will be more well-coordinated in the future.
Kudos to the good folks at Lifetime for all THEIR hard work, too!
The comments on Mylifetime.com seem to be working now, however, I had better luck using Firefox than IE.
Mouse,
There is a link in the left navigation bar on the Lifetime site to "All-Star Challenge", and there's a link there to the full episode. Hope that helps!
It is so awesome that you were able to find a way to share your spotlight with Alex :). Hopefully he'll still have time to draw cartoons for us though! Loved your picks for the awards. Esp the one for Mr. Gunn.
Love that lifetime is letting you get away with the Heidi. Heidi herself must have a good sense of humor about it!
i'd like to third, or fourth (or more) sewing siren's comment: y'all are better than the show itself. And truthfully, you're the reason I've kept watching the show; paid for the cable I couldn't afford, but now (thank god!) lifetime is streaming the episodes starting saturdays. but if it wasn't for Project Rungay, I wouldn't be tuning in at all.
I hope the Lifetime exposure gets you, and Alex!, some paying gigs (especially Alex! word on the street is it's hard to make much money as a cartoonist/illustrator; i have a couple of friends who cartoon and make practically nothing at all).
so - HUZZAH FOR PROJECT RUNGAY!
GUYS, THE COMMENT SECTION IS WORKING NOW!
(repost of my Facebook comment) Wow. I've been a PR fan since Episode 1, Season 1 but have to say that having you guys "on board" has made the show so much more fun for me. I wish you *were* getting paid. I'm upset to learn that you're not! I get paid to write (on completely different subjects) and getting accused of being someone's tool is just part of the territory. I know the truth and shrug off the ignorant comments.
Lifetime is really doing things right getting commentary from you guys and BPR...although I found their takes on the clothes to be mostly catering to the judges and/or the masses, rather than personal opinions.
Your awards section is so cute and unique and I look forward to visiting it every week for an extra dose of bitchery.
TLo, you're looking lovely in those tuxes, and the awards are fab. Save me a seat on the train of thought that your blog is better than PR itself. You guys make it work. (Sorry, Tim.)
Lifetime comments section must be unable to handle all the TLO-VE, because it's not working again.
HOW STELLAR to see you here, there and everywhere.
And Alex, sigh, fantastic.
THANK YOU, Tom and Lorenzo and Alex, for making everything PR just so much better.
And if they WERE paying you, it wouldn't be near enough. Wit is priceless.
TLo, I wish I could afford to pay you a dollar for every time you make me laugh so hard I snort.
And that adorable Alex and his perfect PERFECT illustrations.
Is Alex single again? I'm just askin'.......
Tim Gunn for Ambassador to the United Nations. Seriously.
Also tried and failed to comment yesterday. Plus, someone had taken my name when I tried to register??? Although it was probably just me so long ago I've forgotten, along with my password!
Anyway, the awards are great and I'm sure will become moreso once we get to know the designers. My favorite illustration was the last one (Tim as a winged God). Keep up the awesome work, all three of you (unless you have little elves helping you during crunch times).
i'm not dorothy gale
What a delight to "know you two/three when"!
You are destined for stardom and I swear you are going to be on the tube before we you know it. On your own terms. Millions will be watching The TLo Show. And all of us can wear self-satisfied smirks, "oh yes...I've been reading them for YEARS".
Love LOVE love Love LOVE!!
Hilarious, and perfect, and congratulations!
I was extra-thrilled to see Alex's artwork up too!
You all deserve the extra readers.
Consider yourselves in good company. Did Tim Gunn do the first season for free?
Really couldn't have said it better myself.
They've got banner ads on those placements, they should be giving you a rev share at least (spoken like a true media planner, I know).
