Last year we happened to mention that we were enjoying the hell out of The Rachel Zoe Project and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth in the comments section about us becoming "Bravo whores" and "selling out."By the way, we haven't yet sold out but if there are any rich TV executives out there with some extra cash laying around, we're willing to lie back and think of England if we have to. Hey, a boy's got to make his rent sometimes.
To be honest, we were a little amused by the whole over-reaction. It's a show on the Bravo network revolving around fashion. It would have been strange for us NOT to watch it.
We get it: Rachel Zoe, the most horrible human being to breath air. Responsible for the death of millions. Blahblahblah. We tried to explain then that she really wasn't the main reason to watch the show. Sure, she represents a lot about the intersection of fashion and celebrity that is not good and she doesn't particularly strike us as the type of person we would enjoy being around for more than 30 seconds, but she's hardly the supervillain people make her out to be. As reality television characters go, she doesn't rate anywhere near the top of the list when it comes to annoying or sociopathic tendencies, both of which are in abundance on reality television programs.Besides, say what you will about her, but she is a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry and solely responsible for a lot of what you see on the most important runway of them all, the red carpet:

So busy were we with the launch of Project Runway that we dissed our Bravo peeps by forgetting to mention that the new season of the show launched last week. With the launch of season 2 comes the return of one of our favorite reality show "characters" ever:
Brad, one of Rachel's 2 assistants. We'll keep reiterating this until you get sick of it: Rachel is not the reason to watch this show. The clothes are one reason and the supporting characters are another.
Seriously, how adorable is that? Like one of those cute little dogs you carry around in your purse. Plus he's hysterically funny; one of those types that's just made for the cameras to follow around. And we LOVE his personal style.Last season ended with a little of a Brad-induced cliffhanger.
Because Taylor, Rachel's other assistant and the one who was cast in the "bitch" role, stormed out and threatened to never come back because she hated Brad that much.
How can anyone hate that?
Whatever. The whole thing was glossed over in the season premiere last week and it was business as usual for the rag-tag band. The business being dressing various stars for the Golden Globe awards and all the drama that goes on behind the scenes. You've got to admire a woman who can call up Karl Lagerfeld and request that he alter one of his couture creations for Cameron Diaz.Aside from the drama, there was the part of the show that makes Lorenzo weep:

The part where they just walk around various showrooms pointing at things and saying "I want that." AND GETTING THEM.
After all the various moments of eye-rolling drama, Rachel sat down with her favorite gays and watched her clients walk the red carpet for the Globes. Part of what made it so fun for us was that the looks she was frantically trying to put together (including the altered Chanel for Cameron Diaz) were all featured here by us here and here. We're sure Rachel was devastated to hear that we didn't give her high marks for all the looks at the time.
Anyway, that's it. If you're at all interested in looking at beautiful clothes and want to see the insane process that gets them on actresses' backs (a process that Uncle Nick revealed in the interview we featured last week), this is a fun hour full of eye candy. Episode 2 airs tomorrow night at 10. We'll be checking in with a post about that some time in the coming week.
In the mean time, check out this interview we did with Taylor a couple weeks back wherein she dishes the shit:
Let’s start with your background, how did you become a stylist?
I started in the wardrobe department on a movie set and from there I met different costume designers and started working on commercials, and then finally, celebrity styling.
Is that how you got hired by Rachel?
I basically solicited her. I told everyone in town that I wanted to work for Rachel and she was bombarded by phone calls…we have the same doctor, and they kept telling her that she had to meet me, so after many months of pursuing her, I finally got to meet her, we hit it off, and I’ve been with her ever since.
Since 2005, right? What is it like working with Rachel?
Yes, that’s correct. She’s a great boss. She doesn’t micromanage things; she lets you do things on your own at your own pace. She’s amazing.
What skills do you need to be a successful stylist?
There’s a bunch of them. First of all, you have to be really dedicated and organized because this is a 24-hour job. Also, having a good eye, paying attention to details, following the trends, having taste, of course, that’s a big part of being a stylist, also, always knowing what’s new, what’s out there, what’s about to break.
Watching the episodes, it seems that there’s a lot of pressure all the time and that you need to always be aggressive, on top of things…do you have to be a bitch to survive in this business?
I don’t think you need to be bitchy, but you definitely need to be on top of things, always be on the ball and that can be interpreted as being a bitch.
Do you have favorite designers?
Oh, yes, I love Chanel, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Alexander Wang, so many…
There’s a lot of drama centered around you this season.
Yeah, there’s some stuff that involves me, some drama, some frustrations. There’s no secret that I’ve been with Rachel for a very long time and I do want more for myself and that is definitely expressed on the show, what I want and where I want to go. I want more than just being an assistant, basically. You’ll see.
It looks like you and Brad are finally getting along now. What changed?
It’s been a whole year since Season 1 and we definitely learned how to work with each other. I apologized for being so crazy and we learned how to work with each other and now I adore him.
Speaking of Brad, how come he’s the one going to all the shows and stuff while you run around like a headless chicken?
I love fashion shows but if there’s work to be done I’d rather focus on that than attend the shows. We worked it out, it’s fine, he goes to the shows and I do other things. He works just as hard as I do.
You mentioned in the first episode that you despise Award shows, why is that?
[Laughs] Because it’s become so intense, so much pressure, you can’t really do fashion, you have to think about mainstream America, what’s going to be received well. It’s not about taking the coolest, chicest dresses, it’s more about pleasing the masses. I’m not so into that. I understand on a professional level why that is important, all the exposure you get from an award show, but it’s so contrived, there’s nothing fun about it.
Watching the episode it looks like the economic downturn has affected the way you guys do things.
Yes, definitely. The design houses have cut back on making a lot of dresses and that limits the options that we get. It's so much better when you have as many options as possible and if the designers are only producing three dresses as opposed to six and we get one out of the three, it’s really bad for us. People don’t have the budget anymore to FedEx us things, it’s a constant battle.
Having to deal with so many celebrities on a daily basis, all the fittings and all, what is the most annoying thing a celebrity can do to piss you off?
[Laughs] There are lots things, but the most annoying thing is when you have done fifty fittings, you have decided on a dress, and they change their minds at the last minute for no reason at all. That’s annoying.
How about the designers?
Not sending the clothes we want.

BONUS, BITCHES! You've got to watch this hysterically funny spoof of the show:

LOVE the show! Brad is so cute and can I be her assistant and try all those dresses on? TO. DIE.
"oh my god she's killing it. She killed a family of five."
ROFLMAO.
The video is freaking hilarious!!!!
8/30/09, 12:50 PM
You are so brave to watch this show for us. I would have to mute the sound because Zoe's voice puts me on edge.
I appreciate your recaps because I can't bring myself to watch Rachel Zoe voluntarily.
8/30/09, 12:50 PM
I actually find Rachel oddly endearing. Before the show aired, I really expected her to be more of a dragon lady, and was pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn't the case (at least what we see onscreen).
8/30/09, 12:50 PM
I want to watch every episode re-done by the actress in the bottom video. She is A-mazing, she's killing it, she should be burned at the stake by a group of angry villagers who don't understand comedy.
8/30/09, 12:51 PM
Taylor is such a bitch, she gets on my nerves. Brad's hilarious comments make the show worthwhile. He's adorable!
8/30/09, 12:53 PM
I'm an Old Fart and only stay up past 10:00 for PR and TC, but I'll make an exception for this one.
8/30/09, 12:55 PM
What a wonderful Sunday surprise treat! A review of the show, screen caps of the darling brad, an interview with Taylor AND a hysterical video! You are too, too kind - the Lord must have gotten into you today!
Damn, this is funny stuff! It is totally bananas... B*A*N*A*N*A*S*A*N*A*S*N*A
8/30/09, 12:58 PM
So who's the screamingly funny actress? Looks like Traylor Howard.

That's kind of sad, and I agree with her, I wish we saw more daring looks on the red carpet. I would love to see them taking more risks.
8/30/09, 1:02 PM
Last season of the show actually made me like her more. She's much more entertaining that I would have thought. And Brad is as cute as a bug.
8/30/09, 1:02 PM
I'm so glad you guys are recapping the show. I love it! I read Uncle Nick's interview and I was like wow, just like the Rachel show.
8/30/09, 1:05 PM
Yup, I watch it for all the fashion shows, private meetings with the designers, you never get to see that anymore on TV.
8/30/09, 1:06 PM
So, TLo, just wondering: after seeing all the doings for the Golden Globes, did you feel like you wanted to change parts of your reviews from January?
The first thing I did after watching the premiere was go back to read what you said at the time. It felt a little sad after watching all that angst over the Chanel dress to see what you said about Cameron on the red carpet.
But, don't get me wrong. I agreed with you at the time, and objectively I agree with you now. Just wondering if you felt it too?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have just suddenly become aware that I am in desperate need of a life...
8/30/09, 1:10 PM
I have watched every episode of this show and absolutely love it. There are six and only six reasons to watch this show:
1. The Clothes
2. The Clothes
3. The Clothes
4. Brad
5. Taylor
6. Roger-Rachel's husband.
Rachel Zoe herself is really not that big of a part of what makes the show work so if you don't like her, don't worry! You will love the show if you love fashion.

I lasted through ten minutes of Brad and Taylor arguing with Rachel about whether their desk should be upstairs or downstairs and I was done. If these three worked in the office next to me I would take a gun and shoot them, so why would I voluntarily subject myself to them?
8/30/09, 1:21 PM
I'm also a big fan of the show - not so much of Ms Zoe but like you said, she's not the main reason to watch!
Although I think I could watch this video all day. Freaking. Hilarious.
8/30/09, 1:32 PM
Does anyone know how much $$ Rachel makes per client for styling per event or is like an HMO-FMO (Fashion Maintenance Orgainization) where you pay one fee for the year and Team Zoe takes care of all your fashion needs?
If there are insiders on this board I would love to KNOW?
TampaBay
8/30/09, 1:36 PM
I watched it based on your recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. I found Ms. Zoe to be way more human than I expected. Evidently she is willing to go wildly bankrupt to save prime examples of fashion history. My kinda gal! Also, a good education in how much a stylist CAN'T control and how painful that must be on occasion.
8/30/09, 1:40 PM
I never really knew who Rachel Zoe was before your blog and never watched the show before last week but I found the episode cute and enlightening, I never realized how off hands the celebrities were at picking the clothes. I always thought that when you were famous, you were shown images or a showroom of clothing and would pick whatever you want (one of very few reasons I would want to be famous). I think a lot of people "hate" Rachel is because she is a bit scary skinny and doesn't really seem to notice. I don't know why that always puts people into psycho mode, its her life and her health and if she wants to look like that, who cares?
8/30/09, 1:46 PM
Thanks, guys, I was hoping you'd add tis show into the mix!
Last year Taylor seemed to be deliberately torturing Brad, like pulling wings off a fly one by one. This year, she's being shown as aloof, rude and insubortinate, and intentionally absent whenever her boss really needs her.
She clearly wants more respect and power within the organization, but seems to be pulling these immature moves and repeatedly leaving Rachel short-handed at critical moments to say "See how valuable I am?"
Should be an interesting season.
8/30/09, 1:47 PM
I love the show too boys! My old roomie and I started watching it just to see the clothes and such and immediately got hooked! Brad and Taylor = TO DIE! haha
Thanks for the great interview with Taylor. I can't wait for the next episode. :)

I wish I could agree with you, but I've tried watching it (after reading TLo's post from last year) and I can't handle her. She's such a ridiculous, awful person, and I would gladly mock her, but her voice makes me nuts. Even the adorable Brad and all that fabulous fashion can't make up for how irritating Rachel is.
And now my back hurts because that video made me laugh so hard.
8/30/09, 2:09 PM
Too funny! You are too good to us, Boys.
Think of England, indeed. I've only seen the show once, but thought it was fun. I think any "controversy" is because the show is about people whose entire lives are a fantasy. I mean, a crisis isn't Germans marching down the Champs Elysees or a surgeon operating on the wrong lung -- it's a pen mark on a dress. But taken on it's own merits, it's an enjoyable show.
Funny video, too!
8/30/09, 2:14 PM
A. Last season surprised me. Rachel is actually much more likable on the show than her public persona is. It made me stop calling her Chupacabra.
B. Taylor didn't play a bitch last season, she WAS a bitch. Editing or no, it was clear that she lost it and went over-the-top on numerous occasions.
C. Brad is adorable, but this season he seems to know it. I hope all the reality hype and getting recognized on the streets hasn't gone to his head. That could get annoying really fast.
D. Eva Mendes is not worthy of Rachel. She should thank her lucky stars.
E. She didn't call up Karl and ask him. She just went ahead and did it and hoped it would be ok. That was kind of the entire point - everybody freaking out because they didn't get permission, didn't know if it would work on Cameron, and didn't even know if she would wear it for sure.
8/30/09, 2:43 PM
I didn't even know there was a season one, but I caught a repeat of an episode recently and it was filmed during fashion week and I LOVED IT because I love runway shows and designer clothing.
8/30/09, 2:49 PM
Thank you for watching, so I don't have to. I couldn't even sit through the hysterical parody. I can not stand her god awful monotone voice!!

I am re-watching this episode today especially for the part about the Carmen Diaz-Chanel dress. If Rachel Zoe altered that dress, a dress that she did not own, without permission then she should be taken out behind the barn and shot. How in the "F^&KING HELL" can anyone cut-up, alter or re-configure something-anything that they do not own?

This is a great blog, you might need to hire someone to help you two out. Maybe you could even turn it into your own reality show. Soon you might have your own Brad running around.
OMG
SRSLY!
8/30/09, 3:06 PM
thank you for all the lovely post
the shoes.. the shoes.. just to be able to walk in the shoe store and say "i want one of those, those, these o and one of those"..
thats why i watch the shoe..show..
8/30/09, 3:47 PM
"I thought it was that bird again." That line in the spoof cracked me up with it's randomness. What a dead-on impersonation. Hysterical!
I, too, enjoy the guilty peasure that is The Rachel Zoe Project. The scene with all the jewlry was fabulous. My favorite person on the show is her husband, Rodger. She is such a big bunch of loopy-craziness that I feel he must have the patience of a saint; or conversely, maybe he is sleeping with some random assistant. I hope not, because it seems that he is just a mellow soul and perfect for her. She is damn lucky to have him.
8/30/09, 3:48 PM
I want Brad to be my own personal gay. He could follow me around and buy me lattes and tell me I'm FABULOUS on a regular basis. I'd even let him mix me a nice cocktail when 5pm rolls around.....
8/30/09, 3:51 PM
I love this show! And i love taylor sense of style.

She did not cut up/alter the dress herself, she sent an email to Karl Lagerfeld's office suggesting the changes, they agreed to it and sent her the dress with the alterations.
8/30/09, 4:04 PM
What I love is Rachel's unerring instinct for the jewels, bags, and shoes that should go with each dress.
Accessorizing is really an art form, and I admire people who do it effortlessly and well.
8/30/09, 4:09 PM
Yeah, this one is the guiltiest of all my guilty pleasures. The ridiculousness of all their CRISES is somehow very, very soothing to me. Although Rodger's looking like Todd Oldham's less well-kempt brother is very unnerving.
Loved that video!!
8/30/09, 4:11 PM
Ok, to confirm what I said before, I just watched the episode again and Rachel Zoe reads to Brad an email she got from Chanel saying "Karl has agreed to make the proper adjustments to the dress. He will send it to you asap."
8/30/09, 4:39 PM
Whoops, posted that weirdly. Anyway! Somehow I love this show -- Rachel Zoe is one of the few people to clean up a reputation and make herself really likable via reality show. That said, I can only appreciate her in the gayest way possible: http://bit.ly/6xuR1

TLo said...if there are any rich TV executives out there with some extra cash laying around, we're willing to lie back and think of England if we have to. Hey, a boy's got to make his rent sometimes.
OK my mind just got a visual of a sheepishly awkward Andy Cohen wondering if he should leave the money on the nightstand, while the cartoon versions of T and Lo exchange bored looks. I would like to see what Alex would do with that scenario.
8/30/09, 5:00 PM

No, really?

Something I am dying to know if anyone can help: What is the brand name on the shoes Demi Moore Krutcher wore to the Golden Globes? Rachel has a pair in almost every color in her studio.

Choking with uh uh laughter over that ah-mazing spoof. Seriously I thought it WAS Taylor ("Tay"). Now that would have been bananas.
As a stylist with a clientele of one (me) I find this show fascinating. While I hate all the fur coats, vests, capes, hats, purses, etc. that show up, there is so much jaw-dropping beauty (the antique jewelry; be still my heart) to attract any viewer who enjoys fashion and the personalities that make it so. It doesn't matter what network carries it; I adore the pure escapism.
And yes, Brad is adorable.
8/30/09, 8:02 PM
LOL! a, you killed me with that mental image.
TLo, I'm sorry. I consider myself pretty gay, but even I have limits. I just don't think I can watch one more BRAVO show about a self-absorbed, shrieking egotist and the people who have to put up with him/her (Real Housewives of Whereverthehell, Millionaire Matchmaker, Flipping Out, and now Rachel Zoe?).
Yes, we gays have a soft spot for Barbra, Judy, and Cher.... but memo to Andy Cohen -- a gigantic ego and oodles of money does not a gay legend make. All of the above stars have a certain amount of class, accomplishment, and grace to temper the diva-ness.
Rachel Zoe's ability to choose an outfit from pieces designed and created by someone else's creativity doesn't really match up. (And what are the Real Housewives' excuses for acting so poorly?)
Forgive me TLo, my lights, my joys, but this is one path you must walk alone!
8/30/09, 8:41 PM
That show totally snuck up on me and was surprised how much I like it. Rachel Zoe handles things quite well though I hope to never find myself uttering her random phrases.
And really, what east coast person can't love Brad?
8/30/09, 8:54 PM
My favorite moment was when Rachel was surrounded by racks of clothes and said she had nothing for any of her clients to wear for the GG's. It was horrifying and funny at the same time. But what kept running through my mind was how wasteful the whole process is. The carbon footprint of each of those outfits must be huge. And most of the stuff goes unworn.
And it all seems so needlessly dramatic and last minute. Rachel has a particular dress in mind for each of her clients. Why doesn't she get that dress and one back-up outfit then accessorize those instead of rambling on about giving all these options? If the designers know someone is wearing their dress for sure or there's at least a 50-50 chance, they'd be more willing to offer up their best stuff and the dresses would fit better. No wonder we see so many outfits with fit issues - the celebrities aren't deciding what to wear until the last minute. They hire her because they trust her taste so they should just let her pick the outfit and be done with it. The fashion houses will probably force things in that direction anyway now that they're being forced to reconsider how they do business.
8/30/09, 9:07 PM
I watched last season on TLo's recommendation (Thank you TLo!) --
I really like it! And I - surprisingly enough - really like Rachel. I agree that her husband must have oceans of patience, and yes, she's a complete lunatic, but not in a hard-to-watch way. (Like whatsisname on Flipping Out--CANNOT watch.)
Taylor is the one I find hard to watch. I don't know if she's putting on for the camera, or they've edited out everything except for her tantrums, but she's really a bitch on the show.
I'm interested in seeing how they handle Rachel's weight controversy this season. I don't think she diets down to that weight, I think it's probably stress, forgetting or not taking the time to eat.
8/30/09, 9:10 PM
For the record, my teeth-gnashing and wailing weren't directed at my favorite bloggers "selling out" or any such thing; they were directed at Rachel Zoe being all-around gross.
Hmph.
8/30/09, 10:00 PM
Um, who cares? She "styles" celebrities.
Whoopee frickin doo.
Bravo has gone the way of the dog, not couting the hilarious 'Flipping Out' or 'Top Chef' (and this year's TC is over-the-top stupid)
8/30/09, 10:38 PM
Its interesting to me that everyone is so turned off by Rachel. I've always seen her as pretty average on the bitchiness scale and think she's really much sweeter than she has to be a lot of the time.
Seems to me a lot of people just want to hate her.
8/30/09, 10:51 PM
Love this trash show & I love you guys even more for covering it.
"She is shutting it down like studio 54 where everybody had AIDS..."
8/30/09, 10:58 PM
I find rachel annoying, but once you get past her acting like she's working on the cure for cancer, it's funny how silly it all is; how serious they take themselves.
When Taylor was talking about the skills required to be a successful stylist, one skill she left out is an almost encyclopedic knowledge of what's out there, and where & how to get everything (and how much $$$).
I have a friend who's a stylist and he can look at people just walking down the street and say what/who they're wearing, what season, what year, what it cost & where they got it. It was through him that I heard about Sarah Palin's very expensive campaign wardrobe before it was ever mentioned in the media (who took a while to catch on) - apparently all the stylists were talking about it because it was a mystery who was pulling the looks (& going through Saks with lots of cash).
Nothing gets past those bitches! That's what makes a stylist.

I love love LOVE the spoof. See, bitches, you don't even have to watch the show to have fun with TLo!
8/31/09, 12:46 AM
So let's do some math here... Say there are 20 top designers. Each puts out, on average, say 5 evening looks each season. That makes 100 dresses that every starlet covets.
We'll say fall and winter together make 200 coveted dresses.
Some get worn at movie premieres, others in Cannes, others to special parties, events...etc...other award shows...
That might leave 100 dresses left to be divvied up for Emmy, Golden Globes, by the time you get to Oscar, you might be down to 50.
You are competing with other stylists, because whose client wants to wear what another is wearing. So I can see how Rachel is left with just a handful of things for someone to choose.

Now THAT cracked me up!
I watch this show occasionally for the clothes and the people - the view it gives of the industry is appalling. Taylor epitomizes that you can be good at your job while still being a childish over-emotional burden on others. Brad is fun and conscientious but a bit high maintenance if only he weren't being completely over-shadowed in that department by Taylor & Zoe herself. Or else they're both wildly exaggerated for t.v.
I love watching Rachel & Roger & wondering whether Rachel is some sort of fashion stylist idiot-savant, or whether her spacier high-maintenance behavior is something that is exaggerated in the editing or was once under better control before she had earned the right to act like a space cadet.
Not folks I could work with, but interesting to watch.

I definitely watch for Brad and Taylor. Everytime I watch I get insanely jealous though. To just be around all of those beautiful clothes and accessories would be awesome.

LOVE the show, thank you for blogging it guys. All those shoes drive me crazy, I want them all.

OK, you've convinced me. After reading your description and watching that sppof, I am totally going to watch this show!

Tamarama on 8/30/09 at 9:07 PM said... "Taylor is the one I find hard to watch. I don't know if she's putting on for the camera, or they've edited out everything except for her tantrums, but she's really a bitch on the show."
Funny you should say this because bitch or no bitch, I would hire Taylor in a minute if I owned a company. Again bitch or no bitch, she always seeems to get the job done and Rachel seems much more dependent on her in a business way than Brad.

Does anyone else besides me think that Rachel looks like Pia Zadora?

You're so right -- Rachel's voice is annoying and nasal, but there's something weirdly endearing about her. The real reason I watch, though, is Brad. And Taylor. And Brad. I love them!
8/31/09, 11:30 AM
Oh please - Rachel is such a drama queen. Lighten up - it's just fashion.
8/31/09, 11:32 AM
thank you for posting this! I LOVE taylor - she is hilarious and obviously talented. brad always comes across (to me anyway) like he is a master kiss-ass who spends his time giggling with rachel instead of doing the grunt work. taylor got called out again and again for being bitchy but to me it was totally understandable. and since i definitely relate to her reactions, it makes me wonder how my co-workers think of me. hm...

Oh you know this show is amaze when my mom set it to her DVR yesterday when we watch a rerun together. LOL the best quotes from good old mom..." why are they showing peoples dresses before they wear them..." ( I expalained that it was taped last year ahahah) and " she dresses cute, I like her" about RZ :)
8/31/09, 11:54 AM
I'm willing to cut both Brad and Taylor quite a bit of slack. It cannot possibly be interesting following fashion stylists around, 24-7. How many shots of unloading gowns and sorting through nipple tape can one take?
So you need some drama. Cue Rachel's spendthrift ways, Taylor's "bitchiness" and Brad's first-year-on-the-job confusion.
Actually the second season, with all the challenges presented by the economic downturn--on so many fronts--should be much more interesting to watch.

I was thinking more Gloria Stivic before raiding CCF's food pantries.

Oh geez, I think all three of them are unpleasant, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching!!
But that Taylor person, oh my, she is in her own category. I hate being the new person in the office and some whack-job refuses to train you -- but then turns around and complains that you don't know your job. Hideous. I don't think manipulative tears are the way to deal with it, but you had to feel Brad's pain with all that nonsense. Add Rachel's batshit croaky-nasal-whatEVER voice into the mix, and I'm amazed our darling Brad didn't run screaming into the street after about 2 days....

Both Rachel and Anne Hathaway were born and raised in the same little town, Millburn NJ (though years apart). They sure don't sound like they came from the same town.

What I love:
1. The clothes
2. The clothes
3. Brad - what a sweetheart, a skinny Chris March!!
What I hate:
1. Rachel's furs
2. Rachel's shopping illness and anorexia
3. Taylor - what a horribly unpleasant person

The whole fashion/celebrity thing intrigues me and I enjoy seeing what Team Zoe goes through to get things together for an award show.

Taylor's dirty/overly foundationed face. Discuss.
9/1/09, 11:50 AM
I love Brad. As far as I'm concerned he's the main reason to watch. The others annoy the hell out of me.
9/1/09, 1:17 PM
I watched the new episode last night, and I'm just not buying it. Fashion, Yay! Zoe, Nay. I can't handle her voice and mannerisms. Even Brad and Taylor couldn't save it for me.
9/1/09, 4:21 PM
LOVE the show, the video is hilarious!
9/2/09, 2:23 AM
Brad is the REASON FOR THE SEASON!!! He's the one we love to watch, the rest is like a train wreck that you can't LOOK AWAY from!
Love the Youtube Rachel Outtake!LOLW

Say what you want, RZ is a force in this industry... Giorgio Armani was the latest luminary that she was able to get on camera and DVF was doing some major kissing up.
9/3/09, 12:37 PM
Is that actress that tiny girl from the Real World Chicago? Cara, maybe?
9/4/09, 2:53 AM
It's actually a pretty good show filled with amazing fashion items. The only thing that annoys me is Rachel's voice but I just deal with it
9/5/09, 12:17 PM
I am becoming fond of Rachel; she is like a kid in a candy store when she is shown clothes. And she really does seem to be nice to people. She must be sweet, or she would never tolerate Taylor.
On the other hand, I would fire her as my stylist, seeing the chaos, and that she didn't know what Hathaway would be wearing, and had few alternatives to the stupid train thing, two days before the Oscars. Such chaos and disorganization!
9/5/09, 4:59 PM
I absolutely ADORE Brad. He looks like he's been pulled out of the Great Gatsby era or of some sort. They should just make a show with him as the main character!
9/8/09, 7:44 PM
Love the spoof, though it really is hard to go any more over the top than the actual show. My favorite scene so far is when Rachel tries to express to her husband why she is freaking out because Brad has been entrusted with the earth-shatteringly important task of helping Anne Hathaway change clothes. TWICE!!!! (I can only hope that Anne Hathaway is laughing her ass off at this, having presumably been dressing herself for a couple of decades.) The question I wanted to you ask Taylor, guys, was "Why the hell don't you get your hair out of your eyes?"
9/9/09, 10:38 PM
Love the spoof.
I want to see Taylor and Jeff Lewis work together. That would be hilarious.

I love the Rachel Zoe Project. I think it is a great show that shows a side of fashion that otherwise would be unknown to many. I love seeing the new trends. It gives me many fashion ideas that are great! Love it, love it!
