Not much to say about this one except she looks great, the clothes are gorge, and man, she's got some big hands.

she DOES have GINORMOUS hands...but who cares? the rest of her is GORGEOUS!

Egads, that Givenchy is hideous!

She's so like my sister: tall, lithe, large hands. And yet, my guess is that those hands can be wonderfully gentle when they need to be. (My sister works with animals, doesn't massage, and is also an esthetician)

And yes my sister would look fabulous in these clothes. She's the Uma of our family

Uma looks better in each editorial picture than the runway model. she must have inherited her modeling genes from her mother who I believe was a big time European model in the 1960s. Also, I think her mother was married to Timothy Leary at some point.

I love love love the first dress and love love love the shoes.

TampaBay

her body is so long. it's amazing.

am i crazy for liking the nina ricci dress?

yes those first shoes are lovely!

She's gorgeous! I want that Lanvin
: )

Hell NO girlfriend! The Nina Ricci is fierce! I want everything featured in this editorial.

TLo: Why are the European Editorials so nuch better than the US counterparts?

TampaBay

@TampaBay- even the Lanvin? i think it's not that hot (execpt on Ms Long'n'Lean there).

Her hands are all the better to kill you with...
What a great spread, she is one of my favorite fabulous ladies. The Givenchy is my favorite, love the colors.

Fucking GORGEOUS! I. LOVE. HER!

The Marios Schwab shoes are to die. Great photos!

YES! Even the Lanvin. I would style it differently...make that very differently....but I love it too! The Lanvin is a masterpiece of a blank canvas for make-up, hair jewelry and shoes.

TampaBay

@TampaBay, I do see your point. but I also believe there are better blank canvases. :) Have at it- I'm quite sure your styling would be fierce.

Agreed = Gorgeous and totally fabu!!

Agreed = Man hands for days!!

Just sayin-

Look closely at the Lanvin. On Uma it looks like a dress and on the model it looks like pants. I want the Lanvin as configured on the model with pants.

TampaBay

You know who else has "man-hands"... Meg Ryan. Ever noticed?

I would love to see the Nina Ricci metalic silk dress from the front. the material is so beautiful! And LOVE the shoes with it (TLO may find them too matchy matchy).

Love the styling and love, love, love the Ricci dress! She looks amazing, giant hands and all!

I've always thought that Uma had a modelesque form and this just proves it. She knows how to work those stems! Now I want her to go back to making good movies post-haste. Preferably of the Kill Bill sequel variety.

These are some of the most flattering Uma pictures I've seen...the Lanvin shot is the best I've seen her face look, ever...but, then she's always looked a bit like a fish to me, for some reason.

I agree that US mags could learn a thing or two from these European and UK editions...the fashion editorials are far superior.

God, I hate the whole Man-Hands thing. She has gorgeous hands and she is not a petite woman - she would look bizarre with small hands.

That said, I love this editorial and she looks amazing but WTF is up with that spackle makeup? It looks unnecessarily aging. And just plain unnecessary on someone as gorge as she is. Sigh.

I'm not wild about the lipstick they have her in, but hey, she's Uma, so she can wear anything! She's a big girl (something like 6 feet something) so the hands just go with the territory.

Pickles the Fire Cat had big paws too. Those with big paws are meant to do big things. ;-)

She looks incredible. AND she's not airbrushed to the point of being completely unrecognizable.

I got BIG hands, and proud of it, damnit!

:0)

I agree with Anne in Reno, "man-hands"?!? Give me a break. Some women have large hands, doesn't make them any less feminine. I curse the day Seinfeld turned that into an expression.

And yes, she looks beautiful! Too bad about the acting... :)

Large hands are good for making pottery, moving furniture, playing piano, and a bunch of other things I'm sure. I'm glad I have them. ;-)

ShelleyO's got big hands, so Uma's in good company.

say it with me...

OPRAH---OOOOOMAH!

T Lo never said she had "man hands" and they never said anything about her femininity.

These are the best pics I've seen of her in a long time, though the visible ribs in the last pic are a bit off-putting.

Pickles the Fire Cat had big paws too.

I haven't thought about Pickles the Fire Cat in years! Thanks for bringing back a nice memory. :-)

she looks like a foot.

And that's how a strikingly beautiful, odd-looking woman can totally rescue some strikingly ugly, odd-looking dresses!

Miss Heather,

My nieces are learning to read, and I have been looking for good "starter" books for them, so Pickles was fresh on my mind. Glad to hear you remember it too. ;-)

She's gorgeous and she really works these dresses, even the not so beautiful garments.

Since the Seinfeld references keep popping up, remember that Kramer once got Uma's digits.

But Bania was the one who ended up going out on a date with her.

Yup.

She really wears that Givenchy well. In fact, you can see her experience modeling pay off with the way she breathes new life and character into these clothes.

T Lo never said she had 'man hands' and they never said anything about her femininity."

Uh, I never said T Lo said that, either, but another commenter did, and it rankled. Not trying to start a flame war, just trying to quench the coals before it starts!

She's always "looked like a model" to me - born to wear clothes but probably thought of herself as ugly and gawky from about age 8 through 20, or beyond. It's hard to feel beautiful when you are so far from average & surrounded by one's peer.

I can only really like the Ricci and maybe the Karan - I agree that only a clothes horse could make the Lanvin look good and I thought the Givenchy was silly to the point of unappealing. Couldn't see enough of the Fendi to tell.

where is her other leg in that last one?

bitchybitchybitchy

Wow, but that is a kick-ass photo of the Nina Ricci dress-and I love the Lanvin!

I keep flashing on Uma in the film version of Robbin's "Even Cowgirls get The Blues" when conversation lingers on her hands. The girl's got good bones, and she looks great here. I'd like to see a full shot of the Donna Karan dress.

I don't see anything wrong with her hands.

I have met her a few times and I wish to clarify, she does not have large hands, she has long and slender fingers and toes. She is lovely, a tall and strongly built beauty.

The dresses are beautiful and she looks amazing.

Mariana (The Unoriginal)

Love this!

I love her, thanks for sharing this, TLo!
Love the first dress : )

wow, all the pics are gorgeous.

I love Uma because she's such a natural beauty. She can look good in a anything.

She's glowing and I really love the last dress.

That's true!

Thanks for posting these gorgeous pics and editorials, guys.

Uma's hands are what won her the part in the excruciating Gus Van Sant movie Even Cowgirls Get the Blues.

(But, if you really want to see something that'll curl your hair, check out her feet in Kill Bill.)

Yes! Well said. Slender and lovely piano fingers.

Let's not forget that she's almost six feet tall, so her hands are about right for her stature. At any rate, hopefully they were big enough to slap Ethan Hawke a few times!

LOVE HER.

It kind of looks to me like the airbrushers screwed up on the Lanvin and thought she had her skirt between her legs, and so airbrushed it out.

But Uma looks great.

A beauty. Always reminds me so much of the late Linda Eastman. Who also had eternal fingers (double jointed). So funny, I am the opposite. I have little weany (but well shaped) hands a full joint shorter than anyone's. I notice things like Uma's too! All my friends are always much taller than me and enjoy about 8 more inches of leg than I do too. Some things are just noticeable.

She has a look and can thank Pulp Fiction for imbedding her forever and ever and ever. I personally do not believe hubby did it. She gave a very up close interview a few years prior saying that if they ever broke apart, it would have to be her fault. And a nobody starlet split them asunder? Duh. Can we say Quintin Terrantino?

Beautiful photoes.

She DOES look and IS beautiful.

Stunning pictures! You go Beattrix Kiddo!

Y'all remember her big hands were famous in "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues"

I really love that the cover doesn't have crap written all over it. looks very old school vogue.
