Project Runway Season 6: Latest promo, kittens!

They've arrived, darlings! FINALLY!

We've been in touch with the folks at Lifetime and we have to say, you won't find a more dedicated and excited group of Project Runway fanatics (except here, of course). They are VERY PSYCHED about the upcoming season and you can expect to see a major push in the coming weeks with all kinds of cool perks and extras.

In the meantime, check out their latest promo.

And if you haven't visited the new Lifetime Project Runway site yet, now would be a good time to do so since you can sign up for the official Project Runway newsletter, join the official Project Runway community, and be first in line for all the upcoming videos and extras. Seriously, ladies. They gave us a glimpse of their upcoming promotional plans and there's going to be SO MUCH to play with.

"They gave us a glimpse of their upcoming promotional plans and there's going to be SO MUCH to play with."

AWESOME!!!!!

I miss PR so much. I'm glad Lifetime is in touch with you guys. The show would not be the same without you, Tlo!

YES!!

Tim Gunn is so cute : )

It's a freaking awesome thing!

CANT. WAIT.

Just a few more weeks, guys.

Man, they sure photoshopped the hell out of Heidi in that promo poster.

Now I'm getting all excited again and looking forward to another season of PR!

Yessss, more La Nina screencaps, boys.

I'm excited about the models show too. Thanks for the update, TLo!

I'm going to go way out on a limb and guess that women 25-39 are the target demographic now.

But I do love the enthusiasm. It's a nice contrast to you know what show.

We saw a promo last night on Lifetime (we were surfing by) and we screamed TIM!!!

It's nice to see men in the promo video.

Heidi's freaking me out in that picture. Kinda waxy like Madonna in that LV ad. Why do the promoters think that kind of thing is attractive?

But Tim Gunn. ::sigh:: I love me some Tim Gunn.

I refuse to watch Lifetime. I'll wait for the DVD.

Well, it looks like Lifetime may just "make it work"

Haha - I love how they get people to imitate Tim and Heidi's catchphrases. =)

Can't wait!

Thank you, thank you for covering this!!!! Can't wait!!

-gg

I can totally see Bravo and Lifetime starting a custody battle over this blog, wanting you each to themselves. xD

Thanks for the heads-up on the promo stuff! CAN'T WAIT FOR PR TO COME BACK!

Tim is NOT that tall... ; )

I think the first rule of Photoshopping should be: DO NOT MAKE THE PERSON LOOK WORSE.

Heidi's face looks AWFUL.

My favorite two letters of the alphabet are back side by side!! Thanks for the insight!!

My God, her face looks like a skull!

I can't wait, this is so exciting.

Wow, a friend of mine is in the video. SO COOL! I had no idea.

GREAT! Thanks, guys. I can't wait for your recaps and fabulous commentary.

PR CAN'T COME SOON ENOUGH.

Seriously.

Thank goodness. Seeing PR commercials is like a breath of fresh air against most summertime TV selections. I don't love this promo, but I think Lifetime will "make it work."

(Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

This is great news, I miss the show so much. There's nothing like the real thing.

Yup, they better not forget the gays.

Well, at least Heidi isn't wearing something short, shiny, and tight in that picture.

I'm sorry but that's just silly. It's not like you're forced to watch all their shows. You can turn the TV off or change the channel after the episode, you know.

"We've been in touch with the folks at Lifetime and we have to say, you won't find a more dedicated and excited group of Project Runway fanatics (except here, of course)."

That's good to know, Tlo. I never worried about the show. It would be silly to change the format when it works so well really.

I LOVE TIM GUNN!!!!!! That's why The Fashion Show sucks, there's no Tim Gunn.

The best promo PR has gotten this year is The Fashion Show. I've gone from "PR is so OVER" to "Oh my God, why isn't it on already, I'd watch it if it was broadcast exclusively on Al Jazeera at midnight at this point."

"BeRightBack said...

LOL. It's true. I can't wait to see Nina and Tim Gunn again.

Does it make me really gay that the first thing I thought was Heidi looks great in that dress?

but seriously, can't wait for PR to return. Seems like the Lifetime people are trying to do the show justice.

the promo is very American Idol..or very Lifetime. i just want to see and read about the designers already, i'm tired of waiting. i think it was a mistake that they're waiting for the fashion show to end; i read Andy Cohen saying something about 'launch my line' starting after the fashion show ends.

Heidi looks like Michelle Pfeiffer in that promo - spooky.

It's great to see that Lifetime is continuing Bravo's technique of refusing access to their videos unless you're in North America.

http://hotspotshield.com/ is free and can emulate a US proxy and allow access to those pesky sites that like to block non-US browsers. (Hulu is the only site I know of that blocks this program.)

I finally get Bravo a couple months ago and PR is going to be on Lifetime, a channel I've always had. At least I have the reruns!

"Aussie Guy said...

And do I, as an American, have access to Australian television programs on line? NO.

I can't watch Project Runway Canada online either. My brother who lives in France cannot watch Lost on ABC.com.

It has nothing to do with LifeTime or Bravo.

HOORAY! Can't wait for it to start. I have missed Tim Gunn so much.

This is looking good. Make it work, Lifetime!

thanks for the post!! love the show and i can't wait for it to start!!!!!

I miss Project Runway like crack. I'm glad it's coming back soon.

OMG...I knew I missed PR and my guy, Tim, but I didn't realize HOW MUCH!! I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!! The Duchess, La Nina, even Heidi...cannot. wait.
Heck, they could put the show in Nick at Nite, and I would watch!!

Now I just need to figure out what channel = Lifetime in my lineup!

Rachel - thanks for the website - I've tried using similar sites in the past with NBC and have had no success so haven't bothered with Bravo - I'll give it a go!

MeMeMe - I was criticising the general approach of restricting web content by geographic region more than anything else, so calm yourself! And just so you know, as an Australian I can't watch Australian TV shows online because our country is so technologically backwards that most TV shows here are not made available online.

It is ridiculous, however, that when US shows are purchased by Australian networks for screening (usually months, if not years, after their initial US broadcast) that we are still not able to access additional content such as exit interviews, etc.

OK, this is the best PR promo evah. It shows that Lifetime actually understands the show & its' audience.

I have to say that when it was announced that PR was moving to Lifetime, I thought it was the end of it - that they were going to turn it into something that panders to suburban housewives (and it was bad enough with just SweetP on the show), but this looks good so far.

Very fun. Can't wait.

--GothamTomato

I am excited. It looks as though Heidi has an upside down jello cup on her head.

" Aussie Guy said...

You have a point. I stand corrected.

bitchybitchybitchy

I wonder if Lifetime will repeat episodes ala Bravo, I'm such a glutton for PR that once is definitely not enough!

Awesome! It was nice to see all the fans talking about their favorite show in the video. That was cool.

I can never have enough Tim Gunn. He rocks!

It sounds like the show will be the same, but improved. i surely hope so.

bitchybitchybitchy said:

There is always hope - maybe they will replace the non-stop America's Next Top Model Marathons with reruns of PR!

Can hardly wait for PR to return. The dog days of summer will lose their sting.

I just want an improved, easy to navigate website. I hate going to BravoTV.com for anything, granted it has improved but still not good enough.

"Ted said...
Yup, they better not forget the gays."

Exactly. Lifetime: Television for Women and the Homos.

Okay, I just checked out the Lifetime Project Runway site. Sure is less confusing than Bravo's trainwreck of a website. Perhaps it will be easier to navigate than BravoTV.Makesmecrazy.com

I only have one nitpick - Au Contraire, Lifetime! I think we already know where the official Project Runway community resides.
- Able to survive network switches with a single bound,
- Providing fabulous commentary without breaking a sweat,
- Commenting on celebu-tard fashion faux pas with objectively (though it pains us all), and
- Causing many of us to need new keyboards regularly due to coffee spillage, (thus helping the economy.)

TLo, I think there is no doubt where the premier PJ website can be found. Thanks for all your efforts

AMEN, SISTER!

I can't wait! I think I peed a little.

I. CAN'T. WAIT.

I fucking love this show!!!!!

Oh and your commentary of course tlo
: )

One depressing thought: We can probably kiss our PR marathons on Bravo goodbye. They're not going to do anything anymore to help the "PR brand."

Not that we don't own all the season DVDs available and could stage our own marathons, but still, it's just not the same.

"agnes gooch said...

I'm sure Lifetime will have marathons, they have to, this is going to be their best show EVER.

Thanks so much for this update TLo. Is it August yet?????

Totally agree with BeRightBack - The Fashion Show has ended up being great promotion for Project Runway. I can't WAIT to see "the real thing" again!

While perusing Lifetime's site, I noticed that they are also home to the Jodi Picoult Movie Marathon.

PR is definitely a big step up for this network.

"Aussie Guys said: It is ridiculous, however, that when US shows are purchased by Australian networks for screening (usually months, if not years, after their initial US broadcast) that we are still not able to access additional content such as exit interviews, etc."

Those of us who love British programming have the same problem here. Very little of the BBC's catalogue is available here and they changed their website so that people outside the UK cannot even view clips on it anymore.

--GothamTomato

So basically, now that Lifetime is also giving you special treatment, you've decided to give the show a fair chance?

Wow! I can't wait for season 6 - seems like an eternity! I feel like I was forced in to rehab for my PR addition, but guess what? I'm out and it didn't work - I WANT MY PR FIX!!! Get this - they thought by forcing me to watch The Fashion Show would cure me, but it did just the opposite!!! GIVE ME MY PR!!!!

Am I the only one who's a little concerned that the new promo is so straight-gal-centric and features, at most, two guys who MIGHT be gay? I get that it's Lifetime, and, as Agnes Gooch said, their prime demographic is woman ages 25-39. But that promo has less than ten guys in it, total, and for most of the guys they do show, it's like they went out of their way to make them seem as straight as possible ("I'm in an old fashioned, real-man's barber shop getting a no froo-froo haircut!" "I'm a heavy set, bearded guy on a farm standing uncomfortably with my wife like a recreation of Grant Wood's 'American Gothic' painting!") Where are the queens? Look, I'm not one of those gay guys who feels like our community needs to be pandered to by throwing out token stereotypes of flamboyant guys. Bravo was always great at that, but it's not WHY I ever watched any of their shows. I have no doubt Lifetime's PR will be as good as ever and will feature plenty of gay designers. Still, watching that promo, I felt like I was looking at a copy of "Playgirl" magazine after years of subscribing to "Honcho." Sure, you still get the same hot, naked guys, but when you look at the ads and read the articles, you realize you the magazine isn't meant for you.

After so much of that agonizingly stupid Fashion Show, it'll be a massive relief to treat my eyeballs to some PR again. Can't wait!

" Ruthie said...

WOW. That's amazing! What else can you pull out of your ass?

I wouldn't get to worked up over it, no. This ad is for Lifetime itself, to build up awareness among the audience who are _watching Lifetime right now_. Which is mostly women, and not a lot of fellas, gay or straight.

Andrea Wong, who took over Lifetime recently, has been very straightforward about wanting to change the network, of which she sees acquiring PR as a major part of. But doing that doesn't magically turn your viewing audience into Bravo's-- they have to do outreach to new viewers, and try to make existing viewers feel at home. This ad is just an example of the latter, not the former.

The Fashion Show is to Project Runway as Methadone is to Crack.

There's nothing like Project Runway US and there never will be. I don't even like the other versions.

LaFemmeFataledeNY

Fabulous, boys, fabulous news.

As long as they don't have some celebrity judging every freaking challenge I'm good.

I can't wait! I hope everything stays the same.

The only bad part of the Lifetime site is reaalllyyyy slow.

SisterZip

the Photoshop work on the poster is so bad that for a moment I thought Tim Gunn had a beard!!! and definitely Heidi's face looks weird...
anyway, I'm super excited the show is coming back!!!!!

Geez, they have a lot of requirements to sign up on their site! They won't even recognize my zip code, accurate though it is. What a hassle!

Glad the show is coming back.

Isn't he adorable? I met him at a book store and he is so sweet.

All I can say is, "THANK GOD!"

For those of you who watch The Fashion Show - Can you belive how bad the critics are by Kelly and Issac during, what I call, "Tim's Time" and as great as Fern Mallis is, she is no Nina, Kelly is no Heidi and Issac is no Michael or Tim!!! Plus the runway shows are so short - I really don't enjoy any of it!!!! Sorry, can't pump PR up enough! I just laugh every time they try a make "You are hanging by a thread" a cliche of the show.

C'est moi, c'est moi Lola

TLo, thanks for the link to the promo, but I have one (kind of off-topic) question:

Have you seen the promos for Mad Men Season 3 yet, and will you be blogging that new season?

Can't wait until August! I miss Tim AND Joan!

Heidi looks like an alien in that picture.

I get what you're saying, but I doubt there will be a problem. The gay men will find the show, and it would be crazy to cut down on the number of gay male contestants. Despite how their demographic looks, I know a lot of people who watch Lifetime because the movies are campy and laughably bad. Lifetime might not know that, but it's true.

*sighs and whines* I wish that last part were true. I don't have the DVDs. And I'd like to live in the universe where Bravo runs lots of PR marathons. On the rare occasion I can find one, they only show part of a season. I've seen parts of season 1 and the season Christian won. I usually come across the KENLEY season, and tune in about the time that Blayne calls one of the Olsen twins a fashion icon and says he wants to marry her.

But why am I bitching? PR is back and I finally get to see an entire season. I'm so excited I'm ready to plotz.

Finally, PR is back! Can't wait.

YES!!!!! I'm so excited!!

I LOVED that video. Made me smile.

i miss project runway. wednesday nights just aren't the same anymore.

I miss Project Runway and Tim. Being a gay guy, I have never watched anything on the Lifetime. I'm a little anxious I have to say.

hi,guys u rule and tlo is fierce and fabolous ,,,guys do visit my blog plz
http://fashionisfierce.blogspot.com/ ..and cant wait for pr6..yipee

Ha, it premieres on my birthday, and my husband and I are postponing a trip to NYC so I can stay home and watch it!

It's good to be queen.

Of course, we'll go to NYC the next day and have a fabulous time.

Diane

Yay, PR!!!! I so miss Mr. Tim in his element... I know he's been around a few other places, but I like to watch him at work in the sewing room.

My problem with the Heidi photoshop is how she looks cut out with scissors and glued on the background. And they could have found a nicer facial expression, no?

"I wouldn't get to worked up over it, no. This ad is for Lifetime itself, to build up awareness among the audience who are _watching Lifetime right now_. Which is mostly women, and not a lot of fellas, gay or straight."

Are we talking about the same LifeTime? You know, the one that plays Golden Girls re-runs?

Love it (great dress!) YAY!

Rachel @6:57AM , you are great!

I mosied on over to the link and now I can suddenly watch all those Comedy Network clips that keep appearing in the slog on the (Seattle) Stranger site.

This is *exactly* what I'd been looking for. And I guess I'll finally be able to see all the PR extras on the LifeTime site.

Great! Now I'm ready to go!

@Larry - wasn't pulling it out of my behind. TLo were pretty outspoken, condemning the move to Lifetime as soon as it was announced, bemoaning the step down, etc etc, without really knowing what, if anything was going to change. I always thought that part of this was because they were able to cultivate such a strong relationship with the folks at Bravo (seriously - good work!), and were disappointed about potentially losing some nice perks if (now when) PR moved.

And now they're all excited for it, conveniently after Lifetime has gotten in touch, and given them some freebies. Mind you, I think that was the right thing to do on Lifetime's part, but still.

Yes, and they don't run Golden Girls anymore.

That job belongs to WETv, the station with the insufferable Bridezillas.

I spent the weekend with a man who went as Tim Gunn for Halloween last year. Officially, I'm starting my countdown because no matter how delightful it was to hear my friend "do" Tim, I'd rather have the real thing.

No, Ruthie, you are in fact, pulling all of this right out of your ass. We were concerned when the move to Lifetime was announced that the show would lose its flavor and that Lifetime would forget its gay audience. After talking with the Lifetime folks both those fears were allayed. It's as simple as that.

But your obnoxious little conspiracy theory was very amusing!

Are you two getting paid by Lifetime?

I love the promo! And it is soooo good to see Tim.
I think many of us die hard PR fans were concerned about the Lifetime move, but now, having seen how they are handling it, can relax and look forward to it. We should be extremely grateful that Lifetime have reached out to TLo, and that we will have "insider" access. I don't get the idea of coming to this site and making moronic insinuations about TLo's relationship with Bravo or Lifetime. This is a fun community and all the haters need to please go elsewhere (Perez Hilton?)and leave us in peace to enjoy the fashion and witty commentary.

BTW, Heidi Klum is now her own Barbie! And guess what? Short, tight, and shiny! Those Mattel bitches have done their homework.

Wait, what??? I thought he was MY Tim.
I CANNOT wait to see him again!

I can't wait!!!! I miss the show so much, guys.

Being British, I have not a clue who that woman is. However, I do know that she is on the "starving African child" side of "skinny".

COOL PROMO!!!Can't wait! It's in L.A!Truth is I loved their promo commercial because it had people from all walks of life talking about the show. Project Runway is popular with so many people men and women!! I have been waiting for it to come back for such a long time. I heard its move to L.A is going to be awesome! So close to home! Has anyone heard that Project Runway has chosen FIDM as their West Coast location???Is that true? Because that is really cool! I wanted to apply to the college this fall!I havent forgotten about you Project Runway!!!

Finally saw the preview.

You were getting excited over THAT?????

A bunch of paid actors excited over Lifetime????

Are you that desperate???

Who is this addressed to? Because I see a bunch of comments from people that are excited about the return of PR, not about this specific promo.
