Heidi Klum in Vogue Germany

Hey, remember this post, where we showed you pics of Heidi posing in Beverly Hills and said we shouldn't judge how she looks until we see the editorial? Well, guess what? It's judging time!

Haider Ackerman Fall 2009 Collection
Model: Sigrid Agren

The entire Vogue Germany June 2009 issue is dedicated to Heidi.

"Heidi was absolutely elated to have been asked to do the issue saying “It was for me not only a pleasure but also an honour to once again sit in front of the camera for the German VOGUE. It has given me a lot of fun, a whole week with different photographers, Hair stylists and make-up for the teams to be in Vogue"

"I am a big fan of Heidi Klum, she is one of the most professional models that I know,” Christiane says, “Heidi was impressed by the idea and immediately loved it. The whole book was developed in close co-operation.” This special edition combines the Vogue editorial with a clear statement: “We Germans are not known for our celebrities. Finally Heidi is one of the few international A-list stars. In this edition, we want to make clear: She is a remarkable woman. In the unmistakable VOGUE writing style, we show Heidi sophisticated, provocative, sexy and intimately."

Well, mission accomplished, German bitches. She never looked better. And it's nice to see her spread her Victoria's Secret wings and show more of a range. She'll always be in the "pinup girl" mode of modeling (e.g.,Claudia, Cindy, Tyra - big voluptuous girls who look great in their underwear) rather than the (probably) more respected high fashion girls like Kate Moss and in a way, this is her big f-you to the industry, showing that she can wear more than just underwear.

Meh. While I can objectively say she looks pretty good in these photos, I have an aversion to all things Heidi. Am I the only PR fan (besides my mother, lol) who really can't stand her?

The Balmain shot looks like Cheryl Tiegs after one too many on the Strip in '78. Love it.

And even though I can't stand Posh, I love the dress. With the dark wig she looks like Ava Gardner after one too many and a saucy argument with Frank.

Thanks for posting these, TLo.

I don't know. . . somehow the pictures don't send me. I like the Wilma White Shirt shot vest, and the movie set shots are fun, but something seems just a bit off in all of them. . . though I don't know quite what it is.

BTW, Frau Seal will have her own Barbie out in a few months. Does anyone have any more info on that?

a third laura

FEROSH. i love the Valentino dress- good way to start.

and i really enjoy the side-by-side shots of her with the awesome corset under the trench and everyone behind her in shock; also the bench shot with all the feet around it.

she lucked out not having to walk/stand in those McQueens.

My faves are the Valentino and the Posh. And I love the Ava Gardner do!

Where is the cool red Atelier dress? Or the poodle purse? Pretty shots though. I <3 Heidi! Although my opinion of her was soured by Project Jay...

Bailey, are you sure you're not just being your contrary self? (Come on -- you know you love being contrary---we may have to start calling you Mary!) I'm not saying you have to love or even like Heidi to love PR, but some people act as though she has nothing to do with the success of the show, which strikes me as disingenuous. I'm not sure if you've said that, but, still, if you love the show, it seems hard to deny her charms entirely. (If you respond, Bailey, dear, please be nice. I've had a trying few weeks.)

The eye make-up on the cover is stupid.
All the other shots are nice, though.
She looks like Debbie Harry in one and with the dark wig she has kind of a Lena Olin/Isabella Rossellini vibe.

No.

Can we focus on the editorial and/or Heidi and not feed into Bailey's predictable need to always disagree?

I like the shots of her beautiful face and she has a fantastic body but most of these poses look like she's fallen down or in the process of falling. They are graceless and kind of off like Brooklyn Bomber said. You would expect someone with her natural beauty to do better than this.

You know Brooklyn Bomber, just because I have strong opinions doesn't mean that I'm mean or lash out at everybody all the time like people make it out to be. But no, I don't really think she has added that much to the show's success. I mean, I know she was part of bringing it to the air and all of that, so in that sense I agree. But as far as her appearance on the show, I think she adds very little. The "auf widersehen" thing is cute, but that's about it. I'm not an obsessive fan of Nina or Tim either but I would say their personalities are far more integral than PR than Heidi's.

See? How am I disagreeing? I said the photos were nice. I just don't like Heidi all that much. What is the big deal?

I think she looks great, especially the last shots. I LOVE that VB dress. It's gorgeous. I wish they had used some of the other looks, like the Dior, for example.

What I like is that Vogue didn't have Heidi smile in a single one of these pictures. I get so tired of her patented, bright, sunny, toothy smile -- it's like she goes on automatic to give the standard glam shot. Here, the facial expressions are far more intriguing. We're being introduced to different, deeper sides of this woman.

She is rocking that Balmain dress.

I agree with Anon 9:53. A lot of those shots make Heidi look awkward and ungraceful. I'm also not a huge fan of Frau Seal, but I know she can do better than this.

Can't somebody just have an opinion different than yours?

This place would be boring as hell if eveyone just agreed on the same thing about everything.

I know! I also LOVE those fluffy shoes they put with it!

Heidi looks fantastic! Full Stop!

TampaBay

I think the shot of her in the Alexander Wang is breathtaking...I keep going back to it over and over.

Gorge! I love it!

the first shot ("LA Confidential") is just confusing... I thought her breasts were uneven, but I guess the other bump is a strangely placed elbow?? this shot would get voted off Germany's Next Top Model.

the black and white photo of just her face is gorgeous. She has never looked more quintessentially German. Say what you will, but she is genentically blessed. She may wear "shiney, tight, and short" but it looks damn good on those gams.

As to the clothes, I don't care one bit for any BUT the two Valentinos and the Posh (I cannot believe I like it!!).

It's kind of an unremarkable photo shoot to me. Heidi is a much more beautiful woman than these pics depict. And I hate the eye makeup on the cover shot. Who let the tarantulas out??
All in all, I'm not particularly impressed.

This is why she gets the big bucks. Still photos are her medium.

I collect Barbies & one of the dealers (yes, it is like crack to some of us, lol) has it listed for sometime this year (another dealer says September). No picture, but it will be priced at $49.95.

That first shot makes it look as if Frau Seal has a titscrepancy. I get that it's her shoulder, but that's not how it looks upon first glance.

Overall a "meh" spread. There's potential, but clearly someone fell short and I don't know exactly who to blame.

Oh, and that shot of Heidi trying to pull down the very short dress? Hahahahahahahahaha!

Thanks! I'll leave a message this evening!

:0)

I don't really feel one way or another about Frau Seal except deep envy of her body. And these pictures aren't helping!! ;-)

I think my favorite shot is actually that black and white head shot. She doesn't look "posey" or affected, it's great.

My favorite fashion shots are the ones from Rodeo Drive. And agree with others giggling at her pulling down a too-short dress - oh, the irony!

the whole shot of the balmian is incredible! i think it gives that dress a whole story, where it's been, where it's going...

I also adore the corset, does anyone know who made that?

Heidi Klum looks amazing!! Really stunning.

She looks great in the clothes, but personally, I don't think the makeup is doing her any favors.

Heidi looks fabulous in some of these photos...the shot of her in the Balmain is amazing, and the shot of her in the Max Mara coat shows off her body that was built for sin!

Heidi's got a lot going on in that blonde head. Never sell this woman short.

Ich gratuliere sie, Frau Seal!!

And, I have to love a gal who is going to get her very own Barbie!

I do not like the cover at all!!! Such heavy makeup and she looks manly. Her cheekbones don't even look like her.

Maybe it is the lack of smile. She has one of the best smiles ever in the modeling business, and she looks masculine without it.

I like the middle B&W pics much better than the cover. The face shot seems so raw, which I love. She's Heidi, and that's it.

I like that Vogue deliberately did NOT capture a smile. Heidi's smile is formulaic, like Christie Brinkly's. The whole point is that Heidi looks beautiful with other expressions as well; she's not a one-trick pony.

She looks completely fab, but the picture of her in the piece from the Balmain Fall 2009 Collection is divine.

The Rodeo Drive spread is my favorite. Sleazy Beverly Hills 70s noir feel -- the smog! the dirty colors! -- minus cliche retro 70s fashion.

Funny how the first shot in that spread (demure black suit with white peter pan collar) is much the sleazier feel than the kinky clothes that follow!

My only quibble is that they should've included one spread of smiley fun! bright sun! shots.

Don't laugh, but I suddenly realized who she reminds me of in the brunette bewigged Hollywood movie set shots -- Helena Bonham Carter!

Really. Something in the face. (Does Helena have the German mother or is that Kate Winslett? Or... neither?)

She reminded me more of Michelle Pfeiffer in 'Married to the Mob'.

I think she's wearing the hell out of these clothes, and that's all that matters. Lets stop the catty fights in the comments please.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the LA shots. Very trashy, very fabulous : )

I totally get that.

Heidi IS a big deal here in Germany. You might not like her but she is the most famous German model we have. I think it's a great idea and she looks fabulous. I'm definitely buying the issue.

OK, here's how old I am...

The cover reminded me of Mariel Hemmingway.

The pictures look great and she looks like she had a lot of fun with the shoot.

I love all these shots.

Mariana (The Unoriginal)

Heidi looks amazing!!! That Balmain looks so hot on her.

Heidi looks great but the photographs are uninspiring!

This is a case where I think the fault belongs entirely with the photographers. If this was supposed to be a commemorative issue for an A-list, German celeb you'd think they would've commissioned A-list photographers OR that those photographers hired would've brought their A-games. I think Ms. Klum was ill-served.

She's beautiful, she photographs beautifully in the clothes (compare the most "awkward" shot here with the Eva Longoria shoot TLo put up a few days ago - why one hires models, not actresses, to sell clothes), and lest we not forget, she seems to be one heck of a businesswoman.

My favorite is the straight-on headshot in b/w. (not the cover). You can see that she has great bones and even if she eventually allows time to have its way (and god I hope she does, rather than become some surgeon's travesty of her beauty), she will be a beautiful old woman.

I will agree that her personality is the least compelling of the on-air judges on PR. But the interviews would indicate that her co-workers think she adds entertainingly kooky energy to the set, so who knows what it'd be like without her?

"lest we forget" not "lest we not forget"

though I'm sure you're all smart enough to have figured it out

Going to somewhat disagree with you TLo. While not short, tight and shiney, there is no great stretch here. She's over-exposed whether in her homeland or here. She needed to smile. I thought it was uninspired, despite the brunette wig pic. She is not at her prime and it shows. Not impressed, it didn't give good feelings.

I think she looks beautiful. I'd like to see more of her with dark hair, since she is so associated with her blonde locks.

The one where she is lying on the sidewalk made me smile. That is the likeliest outcome for anybody wearing those shoes.

Old.

They did a shoot at Case Study House 22 and didn't even get the money shot! FAIL

Heidi looking good: WIN

Meh. I'm not impressed with most of the pictures. They are nice but not nothing more. She looks very tired in some pics and she's just not rocking some of the dresses.

I love these pictures. Heidi might not a supermodel, runway model, but she is gorgeous.
